This is our second visit to the Ambassador and we look forward to the next time. The resort is gorgeous with wonderful accommodations and spectacular views. The pool on the terrace is a fabulous perk. Walking distance to Akrotiri with great restaurants. Concierge Pepi is a jewel and booked wonderful excursions

Simply amazing views and beautiful property. We booked a 2 bedroom villa, it was nice but the layout didn't work for us so the manager moved us to another villa with no stairs and it was perfect. The staff was very nice and helpful. The best part was the location, it is located in the south part of the island away from the busy tourist hubs of Fira and Oia but still close to many wonderful restaurants and attractions. The included breakfast was also great with good options.

I would have given this hotel 5 stars if not for the food quality and the behavior of the manager, Antonis. The hotel itself is stunning, with superb views. We stayed in a three-room suite with a private pool, and the view from our room was truly spectacular.
I want to give special thanks to Eleftheria for her excellent service and to Pepi for her helpful recommendations and for arranging our reservations. However, I must express concern about the manager, Antonis. His lack of professionalism, communication, and managerial skills are a detriment to the hotel’s reputation. It’s unclear how someone with such poor interpersonal abilities was hired for this position.
Additionally, the food at the hotel was truly awful—shockingly bad. I strongly recommend that guests plan to eat elsewhere or make alternate arrangements, as the dining experience was far below expectations.

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Ambassador hotel for 6 days, we came for our honeymoon.
We had an amazing time, the service and staff is absolutely incredible. The property is secluded and away from Thira and Oia, which are the tourists areas. If you want to save money on transportation rent a car or an ATV. Just know there is not a lot in this area for beaches, or food options, there is a nice Cafe in Akrothiri.
Their breakfast is delicious, the staff is very kind and willing to please, Pepi is the main concierge and will literally help you in every way, she is amazing. This was a great place for us to experience Santorini.

My son hurt his toe due a sharp tile in the pool,we had to take him to the hospital and end up with four stitches, that happened in our first day from the vacation witch ruined our trip to Greece.

My stay was absolutely amazing. I had amazing views from my room, and the pool felt amazing. The staff was very nice, courteous and attentive to all my needs. The birthday decorations they added to my room was beautiful.

***Note - this is not on the tourist part of the island. If you are wanting a more secluded and quiet experience, this is the place for you. Everyone is lovely, room was impeccable, and all of my tour events picked me up from there without issue. The sunset views over the water were breathtaking.

The room was in tip top shape down to the last detail. Clean, comfortable and cool. The infinity pool was legendary and so nice to relax in. Nothing bad to say about this other than it is a hike to your room in a steep catacomb style tunnel, so if you are older, ask for a room not so low on the hill.

The view from our room was amazing. Pepi and the staff at the front desk were wonderful and very helpful. It's not a party area. It's peaceful and quiet. The breakfast at the restaurant was just OK but the dinner was excellent. The only knock was the small television in the room and the positioning of it but I guess with the most amazing view who needs a T.V.

Property is weird, all air condition and heater are linked together too all units . We stayed beginning of May and had no AC, as it’s still “cold” season . No fan , we were sweaty through out the whole stay

The only complaint is the breakfast service: a convoluted, fill out a form the night before system that resulted in a confused service, difficult for the guest and stressful for the staff. A standard order when you are seated process would serve everyone much better.

Super happy with the property, I think it is a very cozy area to relax, spectacular views. I suggest adding several things for enjoyment such as a hammock, perhaps some chairs and tables in the main room, a heater for the pool to make it more interesting in cold weather seasons, I was with my family and we couldn't use it. The other suggestion is the logistics with breakfast, having some specific areas inside or outside for the enjoyment of it. I had only one mishap with breakfast at the restaurant requested from 8:00@8:30 and it was 8:45 and they still hadn't served it, they should improve that. In the same way other lunch and dinner options for a family of 5. But when I return, I will stay again at Ambassador Luxury

Our stay was great. We got there early and they let us check in early on top of upgrading us. The place is real quiet and always lots of parking space available as opposed to Oia or Fira. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious everyday. The views were awesome. All staff always greeted you at all times of the day. Pepi was able to get us a reservation at a popular sunset dinner in Amoudi Bay. Would definitely stay here again in the future. Really enjoyed our honeymoon.

To wake up every day with that view is the stuff of dreams. It took my breath away every single morning. There is an eerie feeling looking out at an active volcano. Stunning doesn’t do it justice. The staff were lovely… ask for Pepi…. She’s a beautiful individual.

The view from the property is spectacular. The property is about 30-40 minutes of driving distance from Oia and Fira, but it’s beautiful and spacious. It’s our first time coming there from US. My kids don’t want to leave, and all want to go here again.

Enjoyed the Suite, Service, Attentiveness of the property management. Very education about the island and had many options to choose from to enjoy for off sight eating. Love how friendly people were that worked on the staff. I would recommend the following - better sheets and covers for the bed, as the ones on the bed were very hard and not soft. More options for food on the menu for lunch and breakfast. Also anti slippery for walking to the Spa as it was very dangerous when walking during the high temperatures.

The property itself is beautiful but it is far away from everything. This is a perfect hotel for those who want to lay by the pool and reals at the resort. If you want to go into town (either Fira or Oia) it will take about 20 min or more. Other than that, it is a beautiful property and very tranquil.

This resort is top notch. The staff is the beat I have ever experienced, from the Concierge and Reception Staff to the Restaurant Staff to the Housekeeping Team and everyone in between. My sister and I were treated like family and I feel we have a family at The Ambassador Aegean and we are so full of love for them. This was one of the best vacation I have ever had. Prior to coming here I have read reviews and I booked because of these reviews. I’m so glad I came here. Everyone in Ambassador hotel had a smile on their face. Sometimes you will meet one person not in a good mood. But for the 5 days we were there, everyone was smiling and friendly. They were very helpful and caring. For breakfast if you don’t feel your card you can just do it at the restaurant and they will get what ever you like that they have. We were going to have bed and breakfast but the view is great at the restaurant. I love the private pool we had and the balcony with the view. It truly was the best vacation we have ever had. This is about 15-20 minutes from Fira and 35 min from Oia. It was so crowded in these two towns that I would not have been happy staying there. It is very peaceful at Ambassador and you’re not close to another person staying there which gives you some privacy. You might see someone passing by taking pictures. But they’re taking pictures of the immaculate view at this resort. You can view sunset from there and in my opinion it was better than going to the crowd in Oia. The view when your in the bedroom or bathroom or your balcony is so relaxing and so beautiful. It was priceless staying here at Ambassador suites.

The view from room was very good. The sun-set view was very beautiful. The breakfast was good with nice options to choose from. I would love to go back their again. We booked on hotels.com and were a little apprehensive as we’ve had mixed experiences in the past. Our concerns disappeared on arrival.
The hotel is just a 20 min drive from the airport. I definitely recommend hiring a car in advance though as it’s convenient and very handy for getting around the island.
The staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic and looked after our every need (particularly the two waitresses in the restaurant). We were upgraded to a private Villa which was a lovely touch.
The concierge services was fantastic. When enquiring about trips/activities she wasn’t pushy at all (this is a real plus in my book).
We booked a trip on a Catamaran (definitely worth the money) and also a private tour of the ancient ruins... this is a must if you want to understand what you are really looking at.
The rest of the week we took in trips in the car to Pyrgos, Imerovigli, Fira and of course Oi. To be honest, it was always lovely to come back to the peace and tranquillity of the hotel.
I have seen some people complain about drinking water and the pool temperatures... drinking water in bottles is completely normal for most island restores. As for the pool, once you get in and under it’s actually refreshing and no where near as bad as others made out. Room - we stayed in a cave room with private pool - the views of the ocean and volcano were just stunning. The room was lovely, clean, amazing bed and everything we needed.
Service - hotel staff are really friendly and helpful getting you whatever you need. They will arrange taxis to pick you up, send them back to Fira or wherever you are to pick you up, really great.
Breakfast - Is really good, they have a funny system where you order from a breakfast card but what this means is everything is cooked to order and you can have anything you like from the card - i prefer this to a buffet breakfast. The staff were great, especially Effie would was so nice.
Overall if you want seclusion, romance, a spa, great service and amazing views then this is the place to stay.
Just to note you do need to be able bodied, the hotel is build on the side of a cliff and there are tunnels taking you to your rooms - they have golf carts to ferry people around but it could be challenging to some.
The hotel is a 25 min taxi ride to Fira and the cost is Euro 25 one way, so be prepared to add Euro 50 a night if you want to get in and our of Fira which is the centre.
Akrotiri is the closest village about 20 min walk away, but its on a main road and there are only a handful of restaurants there.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon. We stayed in a room with a private infinity pool and the view was an absolute dream. My husband said luggage was lost the first 2 days and the staff did everything they could to assist and find the luggage. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The location is a bit of a drive to Oia, however, it isn’t that bad if you just rent a car. If you do not rent a car you will have to pay a significant amount of money in taxi fees. We looked at so many hotels to find the perfect spot and I’m so glad we went with this one. We were so sad to leave as this was the perfect honeymoon destination.

Every morning we would start our day with breakfast, either in the restaurant or in our room overlooking the Caldera. The excellent staff made our experience worthwhile because of how they would assist us with tour information and the way that they offered the best tips for our money. All the rooms were beautiful and luckily we were moved to the Honeymoon suite, which was the best room in the hotel. The hotel rooms were always cleaned like how it looked when we first checked in and the private pools were a plus. I would definitely stay at this hotel over and over again whenever I plan to visit!
