Well i have been in this hotel for many years. But it has lost the friendly hosting.
Janitors and front desk no issues they were very nice and rooms cleaned.

- i couldnt order ice for my cooler and they dont sell ice either. They only offer ice for room service and only offer a small bucket.

- the waiting staff in the pool restaurant during breakfast is terrible. I ordered coffee 3 times after 30 min i got coffee.

- dinner choice i ordered the food it took 1 hour to be served and when i asked the waiter she responded with an attitude and a high tone voice said the dinner was put in only 45 min ago and i have to wait….Not a way to talk to a customer

- when i checked in they didnt take a card so everytime i wanted to order somthing i need to pay for it on the spot.

I wanted to relax and on the contrary the service made me unsettled and uncomfortable.

I think its the management and process work flow of the hotel it lost the care of the customer needs and made the process so commercial driven. I felt i was in a supermarket t
trying to get the things i wanted instead of being served and relax with the family.

The bathrooms at the rooms are not cleaned well. Specially the showers. All have mold.

The Hotel is very nice, The staff is very friendly and competitive but Expedia is promoting a false advertising. This place is not all inclusive, VIP doesn’t exist!! I spent my whole vacation waiting for Expedia to “resilve” the issue necer heard from them!! Thinking about if I would use Expedia again to buy my vacation.

I made this reservation for my mom, she said it was a amazing! Beautiful property on the beach, nice restaurants, pool and nature. Her room has a gorgeous view of the pool and ocean! She did say that all staff was so nice & helpful! You don’t have to leave the hotel for anything, and she enjoyed very much her stay there! Will come back!

Experiencia decepcionante en el Hotel Irotama — Desinformación y mal servicio
Soy residente permanente en Estados Unidos y ciudadano colombiano. Ingresé recientemente a Colombia y, como ciudadano, utilicé el sistema de registro biométrico (registro de iris) para ingresar al país, lo cual evita la necesidad de sellar el pasaporte. Esta modalidad está plenamente reconocida por Migración Colombia.

Antes de viajar, consulté la página web del Hotel Irotama, donde claramente indican que los ciudadanos colombianos residentes en el exterior pueden quedar exentos del IVA si presentan su documento de residencia extranjera, sin mencionar que el sello en el pasaporte sea obligatorio. Con base en esa información, no solicité que me sellaran el pasaporte.

Lamentablemente, al momento del check-in, la persona que nos atendió desconocía esta normativa y afirmó que era obligatorio tener el sello de ingreso o un registro migratorio, el cual tiene un costo adicional y tarda alrededor de 15 días en ser procesado. Solicité hablar con un supervisor y, para mi sorpresa, él tampoco estaba al tanto de las políticas actualizadas publicadas en el propio sitio web del hotel. Ambos insistieron en cobrar el IVA, asegurando que \"podría solicitar el reembolso al salir del país\", lo cual en Colombia es, en la mayoría de los casos, una ilusión burocrática o una pérdida de tiempo.

Además de este grave problema de desinformación y maltrato al cliente, el servicio no estuvo a la altura del precio. Solo

This is a very nice resort. The staff is friendly and helpful. The facilities are great. One thing to improve would be to lift the restrictions to order food from the swimming pools from 12 to 3 pm because they want to force people to go to the restaurants for lunch, but people should be free to choose.

I really loved the hotel. The bungalow rooms are nice. You see nature and the beach is nice. Sand is dark but soft.

The hotel is very close to the airport and offers an efficient free pickup service.

The architecture and the interior design are extremely tasteful and are harmonious with the landscape and the building styles of the region.

The staff are attentive, helpful and competent.

The room was very well equipped and comfortable. We had a stunning view of the sea and mountains.

There are several large and attractive swimming pools, including slides. There is a lake where you can look at iguanas. The hotel backs onto a (not private) beach where a helpful member of staff will provide you with seating. The beach is functional - not the most beautiful but clean enough and the water is calm enough to swim in. The whole setup is fantastic for kids.

The buffet breakfast (included in the price) was excellent in variety, quality and quantity.

The Irotama - in its cuisine, design and activities - clearly seeks to showcase elements of the regional culture. As far as big hotels close to the airport go, this one offers a relatively \"authentic\" experience.

Two small gripes. The pools close at 7pm. The lunch and dinner options (not included in the price - we went for the \"budget\" options) were not up to the quality of the breakfast.

In summary - if you want to relax and enjoy a bit of luxury in beautiful surroundings in a convenient location by the sea, this is perfect. On the other hand, if you want to visit picture-postcard tropical beaches you're better off staying nearer Tayrona park.

Our entire stay was wonderful. We adventured to various destinations (Santa Marta, Minca, and Tayrona). The staff was very helpful in getting us to and from these locations (getting back from Tayrona would have been difficult without their assistance in setting up a taxi both directions). They were also extremely helpful in answering all of our questions throughout our stay.

We really wish we spent more time in this wonderful resort, as it has many amenities, including multiple very nice, clean pools, bars and restaurants, beach access (private, however vendors will hassle you constantly to buy their product or service), and a wonderful atmosphere.

The only knock we have is that the restaurants are relatively sub-par, although there are several options.

This area of Colombia does not have many English speakers, so come prepared with a little bit of Spanish and a language translation app; it will help a lot. Some of the staff know enough English to help out, but it’s best to have your app handy.

Trouble to check in / Problemas con el check in

The place is as described on the page, it feels like home and the view from the balcony is beautiful, you can see the sunrise, the pools and it is full of trees and many little birds.
The food is delicious, they have a different menu, I was traveling with my daughter and she enjoyed it. The only horrible thing that happened to me when I arrived at the hotel, they couldn't find the check in and that was when I showed the payment and the confirmation number. It was horrible. I waited 1 hour and nobody knew anything. My aunt, who was the one who did everything in the USA, called hotels.com and they called me and the charge and everything appeared, but at the hotel nothing, very disorganized, terrible. If you bring a girl, they ask for the birth certificate to enter.
El lugar es como lo describen en la pagina, se siente como en casa y la vista desde el balcon es bellisimo puedes ver el amanecer, las piscinas y esta lleno de arboles y muchos pajaritos.
La comida es deliciosa tienen un menu diferente, yo viajaba con mi hija y ella lo disfruto. Lo unico horrible que me paso cuando llegue al hotel no encontraban el check in y eso yo mostrando el pago, e lnumero de confirmacion fue horrible fue 1 hora esperando y nadie sabia nada, mi tia que fue la que hizo todo en USA llamo a hotels.com y ellos me llamaron y aparecia el cobro y todo, pero en el hotel nada muy desorganizados terrible. Si llevas una nina te piden la partida de nacimiento para entrar.

Staying in Irotama has always been fun, the recreation is excellent, the service and cleanliness are very good. The food in the restaurants, however, was not good enough for the price they charge, which is very high. The buses need to be fixed because the air conditioning does not work well and the bar in the room was empty. There is a minimarket, but it is really very poor.

To many mosquitoes, only one restaurant with air conditioning, the prices they charge are very high/expensive for the hotel and the amenities they offer, the restaurant prices are very high/expensive , the beach is not private, it belongs to the entire town, including dogs.
I will not stay at this hotel no more and will not recommend it to no one.

Unfortunately the beach was closed on my stay there and when I asked why they didn’t advertise so I wouldn’t stay there, I was given a lame excuse(not worth mentioning). This is a resort so a beach matters. Next I checked in at the main building then when I was at my building I had to do the check in all over again. Why twice I don’t know but it is a long slow process. Then they asked me to pay. I already paid and showed my receipt but they still didn’t believe me. So it took even longer and many calls before they realized I did pay. Room was beautiful but so hot and humid. It took a while for it to cool down once the air conditioning was fixed. They did that quickly I must admit Buffet breakfast was ok. 6 out of 10. My tower was on one end and the pools on the other end. Shuttle cart. English extremely limited.

This is a perfect place for families and people looking to get away. You truly don't have to leave the property. All food options were tasty and the staff was incredible. Overall rating was 3 based on the fact of limited buffet and quality of food. I am not saying the food was bad, but had higher expectations if you compare to buffets in 5 star properties around the Caribbean or south east Asia. Operational staff were extremely attentive and would go above and beyond to make sure you were looked after, only hiccup is the security guards within the perimeter who as on a constant power trip and trip people outside of your party like trash. My elderly parents were staying near by and would come to pick me up in a taxi to go for dinner in the old city or drop me off and then we would plan to walk together to their place…. Anyhow, the security guard suggested they needed to be escorted as they were afraid the resort facilities would be used. Really? Treat like that a 70year old that can only walk slowly, to go with his son and wife to the other side of the resort via the beach, do we pose any type of security threat? Come on. I received an apology from a staff member, but unfortunately it happened again on 2 other occasions.

A great resort, compared to the price of other hotels close by, this one is by far the best option if you want to relax by the beach and the pool. It has easy access to the beach with tents and chairs available all along the hotel. There are multiple pools to pick from, with a big one in the middle that’s great for kids. The service staff is very attentive and polite, the breakfast buffet is great, with plenty of options to pick from. There’s something for everyone and there’s a small shopping center at walking distance but getting a taxi from the hotel is safe and sometimes cheaper than getting one outside.

Disappointed with two things. First, I really wanted to get a massage while staying here. I tried contacting the property in advance but they were very hard to reach and told me that I would have to wait until arrival to book a spa appointment. When I eventually arrived and asked for an appointment there were no spots available during our stay. It was really important to me to get a massage and was the whole reason I booked a hotel with a spa. Really disappointing honestly.

Please be careful! They didn’t charged me anything until I got there but the price completely changed not even close to what I made the reservation for with Expedia. They tried to get out of me another $600-$700 dollars more but because I am Colombian i know the exchange rate and I asked them to return my money and found another hotel ! If you are a foreigner please be careful they will try to get the most money of out you.

This hotel is a jewel. It is best experienced as a family vacation resort. Choose the all-inclusive plan and enjoy the beach, the wonderful buffets and restaurants, and the nightly entertainment. Many activities for children. Sailing and other activities are available for a fee. The property and rooms are well maintained. Staff is plentiful and extremely courteous. English is scarcely spoken: resort caters to families from Latin America. Extremely good value. Only one complaint: I was woken up early one morning by some private party setting up equipment on the beach before dawn. Do you need to de-stress and have everything taken care of? This is the place.

Love received from the staff of La Pergola restaurant who every morning gave us their best with smiles and courtesy. Big thanks to Naidys who assisted us in the emergency of one of my love ones.
Hate from the group of people who showed up to the El Búho restaurant the same night we were dining there. These people were noisy, rude and without consideration to the other guests. No rules/ etiquette in the restaurant??? Too bad…

Hotel conditions are very bad. Everything is so old, rooms, bangalows, pools, beach chairs… drinks at the bars are cheap quality. Food is very expensive for the quality. Restaurants decoration is very basic. Front desk service / attention is very good thou staff service around the resort ( bars, restaurants, ) it’s ok… the only good thing about the resort is the front beach and the security. Other than that I would not recommend paying that much to stay there

Propiedad bonita, personal muy amable, terreno grande y extenso, mucha seguridad alrededor, buffet de desayuno en Cocos bar fue agradable lo mismo que la cena aunque nada del otro mundo por 63 mil pesos por persona,
Coctel de bienvenida nunca se dio pero en lo contrario nos entregaron la habitacion mas temprano de las 4,
Lo que menoa me gusto fueron sus caros cocteles, de verdad que nada de licor y mal preparados para pagar 55 mil pesos por 2, ya en la noche especial en semana a las 8 no hay nada que hacer, los bares ni musica tenue colocan

Todo lo demas muy chevere creo que volveria
