My spouse and I visited this hotel for 6 days, and we must say that the staff are extremely wonderful! We felt at home from the moment we arrived until we left. The cleaning staff are amazing, and the girls from the market are lovely. I wish I would’ve gotten their names (especially the skinny girl with braces and the girl who showed us how to say BUJUJOS ) . Those girls made our mornings, Santorini is on the beach and the view beautiful, their Sky Bar had us feeling very nice. And if you like to do outside excursions this resort is close to most if not all . 10/10

Stayed with my boyfriend for one week. Easily the best week of my life. They were extremely friendly, the food was amazing and they cleaned our room everyday unless requested not to. The area was relatively nice and the spa was amazing. My boyfriend speaks Spanish so he translated for me but other than that the staff was willing to use my phone to translate. Prices for the food and alcoholic drinks were fair and not outrageous. Staff was willing to accommodate a romantic dinner on the rooftop terrace (for an extra charge that was reasonable) and the experience was amazing. 10/10 would recommend. No complaints here.

Really bad service from the beginning, per the website, they offerrd airport shuttle but they don't, they said it has to be coordinated with hotels.com which it doesn't make any sense, staff is not hepful at all, good location the beach was really nice but needs to improve a lot on the service.

We loved Luis who assisted us with our breakfast everyday. He went out of his way to please us, he deserves a raise and promotion.
The front desk was lacking in providing concern or customer satisfaction especially the female supervisor who wore glasses and did not provide a name. They insisted we used a taxis and not walk due to a dangerous area on the path to Zazue but the taxis called by Santorini were many at times rude, and overcharged especially since we are Americans where we felt they were attempting to take advantage of us. It was our second time and Santorini had not charged in the past for beach canopies but they do now and we’re very rude about it. Alex from Santorini Boutique remembered us and tried to assist with a courtesy since we were returning customers but the female supervisor belittled him to us and we were not granted the courtesies on the canopy. The WiFi in the computer room is poor. A lot of bugs in pool bathroom, computer room and morning breakfast area. Our legs were chewed up! Also, Santorini made an error and provided personal information in an email to extended family that were not traveling with us on this trip which was very unsettling. We have the proof and we can’t understand why they did that or how??? Their restaurants are a bit overpriced and provide the same food at all locations, very little variety. We are indecisive about returning!

As far as I am concerned, the Santorini Hotel & Resort has set a new standard of safety procedures for all hotels during the COVID-19 pandemic. I almost felt safer at the Santorini Hotel & Resort than I do at my home!

Upon entering, there is a hand sanitizing station that is operated by your foot rather than your hands which was very clever. The elevator is operated by buttons you touch with your feet instead of your hands so there was never a need to touch the buttons during our entire stay. We needed to print our PCR test results to return to the United States and the staff printed them at the front desk so we didn't need to use the computers in the business center. All of our transactions in the hotel from the beach cabana rental, hotel restaurants and bars were all charged to our credit card so we did not need to exchange currency (safety!). They took safety to the highest level and I have no reservations about recommending this hotel to anyone who has concern about traveling during the pandemic.

Our room was a good size and were happy to find a place with both a King-size bed and air conditioning. The Sky Bar was the perfect place to watch a sunset from the pool with a cocktail. The restaurants were good, but we REALLY wanted to have some authentic Colombian food. The young lady at the front desk recommended Parque de Los Novios and we took a cab ride that costs $20 mil pesos to get there.

Disappointed. Check in was unpleasant because the lady at reception was not very welcoming. She also looked through our passports asking about stamps, as an immigration officer would do. Apparently this was so she could charge us tax on our stay.
The hotel was OK and the breakfast was also OK. The nearby beach is beautiful, very quiet and very warm water. The area nearby is dead. There is nothing interesting. No bars. No restaurants and only 1 supermarket. We will not stay again.

The staff do there best with basically no English.. there is one front desk guy by name of Mauricio and he is not management...So very helpful.......I find every foreign hotel I stay at has irrogant self centered management, staff can only do something’s that are okayed but be prepared unless they are educated with actual business degree....They don’t care!..All there worried about keeping the workers suppressed as to keep themselves on top (bonuses/self preservation)....The pictures and vagueness on the site for Santorini Hotel & Resorts Santa Marta was very disappointing as will be the cut and paste Expedia reply....Sad state of customer service...another money saving tactic. My room looked like a violent fight or murder took place as looks like blood splatter on one light cover....

This place is wayyy too expensive for what you get. It has a weird sort of run-down vibe, and it is NOT a luxury place as advertised online. For the SAME PRICE you can get a room next door at Zuana Beach Resort which has direct beach access and amazing facilities. We would have moved to Zuana immediately but our reservation was nonrefundable.

The staff and location were great! The room was very spacious and clean. The only issue we had was with the plumbing. The shower did not seem to be draining and the toilet did not flush very well at all. They were very helpful and came to fix it, but it happened more than once(we knew that toilet paper could not be flushed). Other than that, I really enjoyed our stay there!!

The staff were very kind. Special thanks to Yonet for his beach spectacular beach service, Lissette on the roof area, Sebastian at the restaurant who gave excellent service and Mauricio at the front desk. The hotel will need repairs in the following year. You can see rust, splattered paint, dirty edges , things that are easily repaired in less than two weeks, but if the owners don't take care of repairs, it'll be a very unpleasant experience for guests. The food is ok, and could be alot better. The roof bar has better tasting food than the \"gourmet\" restaurant. Careful with taxi drivers who assume you'll pay whatever they tell you. Ask how much before stepping into any taxi, as I was ripped off a couple of times from the taxis outside of the hotel. I would consider staying here again because of the excellent service the staff provided, but if management doesnt take care of repairs, no one will want to stay here!

2 room apartments are far from main building. There was no key available to lock sliding doors from outside first night. There is a guard but still no sleep first night. Air conditioner blasts right into your body making it difficult to sleep. Sky bar in main building is amazing and staff is very friendly.

When i first walked in the lobby, I was not pleased. For the amount of $$ I spent to travel from Medellin to Santa Marta, Colombia, a bundle package for 2 ppl $1560 USD for 3 nights (with flights), I was expecting an upscale place for sure. The neighborhood was extremely run down, the approach to hotel and lobby also looked very 'worn'.
Within 30 minutes of check in I was literally on the phone with Expedia to try to transfer to somewhere else. When that didnt work, I surrendered.

The room: super clean / hot water / AC, but very sparse furnishings, not even a mirror in the room, just one in the bathroom, which makes 2 ppl getting ready a pain. We got the junior suite, but was just a room with bed, 2 nite stands and one desk & chair. 2 walls of sliding glass doors, but the curtains only open on one side, leaving little view. I fixed that on my last day as youll see in photos - i figured out a way to tie up the curtains. LOL. Nice balcony. Room overlooked rooftops and a little water view, a block away and alot of construction next door, but was not noisy.

The pools: Ist floor pool is ok, right off the restaurant. quiet, plastic lounges, nothing special. no view, but there is a waterfall at end of pool, looks pretty in pictures.
The rooftop pool is better, called the SkyBar - there is a restaurant and a lounge there, but beware, we went up there Wednesday night for cocktails and chill and ...CLOSED. really? yes, they said they close every Wednesday. Not cool in a hotel

I'll start with the positive:

Loved the papaya juice offered at the front entrance.

The breakfast offered was fantastic.

The pool at the entrance had a nice shade to it.

The tours offered by the hotel were phenomenal.

Managed to sleep very well.

The hotel offered alot of perks.

Now the negatives:

The shower in the room went from warm to hot in a heartbeat and then back to warm.

The equipment found in the gym was all being repaired.

Overall I was pleased with my stay.

The hotel is a little old, not a resort per se, just some buildings on a street near a beach. It's ok for couples on a budget who want to stay in a relaxing beach. There's only beach service until 5 pm which is very inconvenient, because the other two hotels in the area, which are real resorts, ZUANA and IROTAMA, do offer bar and restaurant sevice with live music on the beach until 1 am. Santorini beach looks a little sketchy and dangerous during the night. Overall it's ok, but I would rather stay in Irotama.

Let me start off by saying that the front desk people were very friendly. Other than that I can not recommend this hotel. When my wife and I went to our room it felt very hot and we were exhausted from our long travel to Santa Marta. I asked for another room. They told us it takes time to cool down with the AC. After 2 hours of sweating they still told us it takes more time and they sent us a fan. After another hour, I insisted on another room and they obliged. Then they told us that the water in the hotel was going to be shut off for two hours. When we checked out they had the nerve to charge me for 2 bottles of water we drank when we were sweating and for a snickers bar. Too many resorts in that area to stay at a nickel and dime hotel.

I had dinner at the hotel and I got intoxicated with their sushi. my girlfriend also got intoxicated. when checkout, my credit card didn't work for some reason and when I tried to pay with us dollars, they gave me a rate of 1500 per us dollar when the rate was over 2300 Colombian pesos per dollar, Most hotels take it for at least close the over all exchange rate, I felt robbed. and they even acted like they were doing me a big favor for allowing them to take my money, breakfast was very simple for a restaurant in that area,

Good value for the money

The Santorini is dated, but the staff were very hard working and accommodating. The hotel is slightly off the beach by 100 meters, but there is a beach club for resort guests. The resort itself is a cluster of different hotels all on the same beach side road bordered by 2 mega all-inclusive resorts on either side. Conveniently located close to the airport and only a 10-15 minute taxi ride from everything else. The beach is clean, but there is nothing else to do within walking distance outside of the resort. The Sky Bar has excellent sushi that came highly recommended by the local expats. The mini bar was well stocked and completely affordable and such a convenience - wish it was like that everywhere.

Quiet and Romantic Getaway

This is a very nice resort. This is a 4 star resort, but I would say maybe a 4.5. It is not the same as a large 5 star resort that you would see in Mexico or Jamaica but in this area(Santa Marta) it is one of the best and had a very good price when I went(100 Canadian Dollars per night). The hotel and resort location has three pools, with one being on the roof with a sky bar which gives you amazing views of the ocean. The staff are super friendly, and there was usually one person at reception at a time that could speak English. The breakfast was included, and was a typical 4 star breakfast, nothing too fancy but definitely not bad food at all. There are four Santorini hotels close to each other in this area, the Boutique, the villas, the beach club, and the hotel and resort. When staying at either one you can use the pool and other services from any other. The restaurants have very good food, not bad pricing considering it is restaurants in the resort. When you go to the beach near the santorini beach club, you can get a free tent and chairs. and they make sure you feel very comfortable. Just for reference, if you did not have this within the resort, you would need to pay maybe 20 000 pesos for a tent so about 13 or 14 Canadian dollars each time you go down to the beach. The only negative thing I have to say and it has nothing to do with the hotel, is that stores and restaurants in the area can be more pricey than if you go to Santa Marta.

The hotel was close to the airport, with airport shuttle...the only thing is you have to call ahead the day before if you need a ride from or to the airport. Also wifi just stopped working. Other than that the hotel is in good location with decent breakfast and nice rooms.

The hotel is pretty new ( only 3 it 4 years) and take advantage of the experience and service of the hotels around ( (Irotama and ZuAna) to charge the same prices for a poor quality and service.
The personal is not qualified therefore the service and quality you get is very poor and the prices are too high compare with what you receive
Terrible logistic, bad personal and deficient administration make your holidays a hell cause you will only get bad service, rude treatment for the reception stuff and you have to pay for that!
Don't ever waste your money as I and my family did on our stay in January 2014.

This is my 3th time at the hotel and only in this opportunity i had a bad experience with them. i forgot a hat at the spa room, in the reception they confirm me that someone at the hotel found it out but they never gave it to me back. i asked and talked with many different employees about the hat and all of them said that the found it but dont know where it was.

Santorini is a very good place to stay in Santa Marta, close to the beach with a place on the beach for towels etc. Excellent and helpful staff, very good breakfast overall a wonderful stay. I do not think that Santorini can be beat for the price. One caution if buying a package try and avoid LAN airlines ughhh

Santorini Hotel was perfect for us. We did not want an all inclusive resort because we knew we would be out sightseeing most days we were there. Breakfast was included, and it was very good. It was plenty to satisfy until lunch. We ate dinner at the Sky Bar twice and enjoyed it very much. The food was excellent. We spent an enjoyable day at Club Playa on the beach. We were well taken care of with towels, drinks, and food. The hotel is only one block from the beach. The hotel staff assisted in making reservations for a tour of Tayrona National Park. We did a hike and beach tour. The pristine beaches were wonderful for swimming and snorkeling. Another day we ventured into the historic town of Cienega, and then to the fishing village of Taganga for dinner. We swam in every pool at the Santorini.

Nice Hotel, but make sure your book the right one!

I booked the Santorini Hotel and Resort, but when I arrived the staff told me that my reservation was with the Boutique. So, I was upset because they were trying to set me in a different room. After I spoke with the manager I got for what I paid.

So, make sure to book with Resort to have a good time.

The hotel is a good location and the prices are OK

Hotel is close to the beach

the room was comfort & clean,good side bathroom This hotel is for couples or adult people it is located away from the noice of the town,you need a taxi to go anywhere,the hotel has 5 floors,on the six floor you fine a nice pool and a very limited restaurant with a nice view of the acean

Amazing wedding and organized in 24hours!

Management and service is great . We had to organize a wedding for our friends and only in Colombia and Santorini was possible to do it in 24 hours. The religios ceremony was in their beach club seeing the sunset and celebration at thehotel. The party was unbelievable With 3 bands (salsa-merengue, carnaval crazy hour and vallenato). Food was very good and the best: good prices and everything on time and good quality with only 24 hours of preparation. This only is possible in the land of Garcia-Marquez ! Thanks a lot to Jose ( manager) and the rest of the stuff!!!

Nice hotel far from downtown area

Overall good experience except for construction on terrace. Loud noise from 7 am to 6 pm daily. We stayed the last week of April 2013.

Nice Hotel close to the beach but far from City

We had a nice stay. unfortunatelly the top floor with the pool and view of the ocean was under renovation. Staff was very friendly. not much to do after you come from the beach as the hotel is far from city.

Less than average experience

We stayed at the Santorni Hotel for two nights as part of a large group of friends, some of which were staying at the Villas, and the Boutique, which is all part of the resort. The pools are great, and the hotel is quite close to the beach with beach towels and chairs available for use for the guests. However, the bathrooms in the hotel are not great, with my toiletries not being replaced and a shower that either is extremely hot with lots of water pressure or cold with no water pressure at all, it is not ideal. Especially in a hot climate! The staff at the boutique also tried to charge my friends $300 dollars more on the premise that someone in our group had borrowed money from the hotel and thus we owed them the money. They refused to deal with us in English (even though there were staff who could clearly understand and speak), but luckily there were a few of us who spoke Spanish in the group. Moral of the story: always check the hotel bill in a foreign country and ask if you do not understand! Overall Santa Marta is amazingly beautiful and a must see place if you are visiting Colombia!

Santorini Sunsets in Colombia

Great hotel and the best place in town to have a cocktail by the pool and watch the amazing sunsets.
The beach is one block back and doesn't have white sand so the water is darker than San Andres and I think thats why some people have stated that its not clean but i watched them rake it each day and it looked clean to me. The hotel has great pools if the sea isn't your thing.
The only down side is that the area has only big resorts so there is no where but the hotels to eat at.The food is good if you want something else catch the bus into town.

Nice place, nice people, romantic!

Great hotel with lovely restaurant and nice staff! Massage was wonderful! Food excellent! They let me re-book my room with Expedia for the cheaper rate while I was in their lobby! Hotel is across the street from the beach, not right on it. Only problem was that elevator was under repair....but we got more exercise!

Great hotel for family in quiet neighborhood

This is our third time back and we will return in the future. Great for the small family, have the beach close by and pools in the shade to take the kids to when the sun is too strong to be on the beach. Lots of options for food in and around the hotel area, though interestingly enough, the food in local restaurants is about the same price as the hotel. Friendly staff, beautiful institution. We will be back.

Lovely hotel but a bit isolated

Luxurious hotel. Breakfast a bit repetitive after a couple of days. Not much to do locally so best to head into town in the evening.
