From arrival at Nongsapura Ferry terminal , till you return, everything is seamless. Staff are super helpful and approachable. It was easy to book massage and lunch/dinner reservations. Booking the bugee, ordering in room dining all seamless through Whatsapp.

We encountered an issue on our 2nd day where we couldn’t enter room ( card/ lock issue). Thank you to the team it was resolved in 20mins. Only feedback would be to improve/ maintain room etc better. As some of the furniture looks a little worn out, but very basic stuff. Excellent stay.

There isn’t anything much/ restaurants etc outside near the resort. So if you stay here, it’s super relaxing cause there’s no need to travel out.

reached at about 4pm. Very chilling place can really relax and enjoy the peacefulness. Buggy at your call, they bring u all around the place basically. Spacious big room big wash room. Private pool and also peaceful public pool.

Breakfast also great and a lot of choices. Their overnight oak is super delicious.

Only issue is my air-conditioning has some hiccups, having some noice in the midnight.

Otheriwse i really enjoyed my stay.

View was blocked from swimming pool. A wall was erected inplace of a glass panel. Swimming pool had a lot of dislodged tiles creating hazard. Hot water was very limited. Breakfast spread was inadequate especially protein, no chicken except for sausage.

Tranquility, the view, and the hospitality and service of the staff in the resort.
Quite far from city centre, but expensive food (though the food in Pantai is good & worth the money paid) and a lot of mosquitoes and lizards in the property. The state and condition of the furnishing and villa could have been maintained better, but otherwise had a memorable stay in the property.

Absolutely love this resort. I’m definitely coming back. Special mention to Andry. His service has wowed me. His dedication to providing good experience during our entire stay was impeccable. It was a unanimous agreement from everyone in the family that he made a difference to our stay in Batam. The property may be a bit aged but they are making efforts to upgrade the property progressively. The spa was world class. I am a seasoned traveler and the spa here was one of the top. This was my kids’ first time and I have to say I have spoiled them starting them with one of the best spa experience. Simply beautiful. A very memorable trip for my family. Returning to Batam after over 20 years, I was spoiled. Tried three resorts in Batam and this one wins hands down. Next time, I want to try the in-villa bbq. Sean and Michelle

It is a beautiful resort and has plenty activities within.
We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed ourselves.

The food was awesome.
The villa rooms (with the private pool) are so cosy and chilled out.

- Free transport (shuttle bus/van) from the resort to Nongsa Pura ferry terminal and vice versa - can book the transport via email/WhatsApp prior to arrival/departure
- Large villa with 3 en-suite bedrooms, living room (with dining table and refrigerator), outdoor barbeque area and private pool (with cabana (not sheltered))
- Comfortable beds and pillows in the bedrooms
- Good water pressure in the bathrooms
- Water dispenser included in the living room
- Good variety of activities available in the resort
- Decent food choices at the buffet breakfast venue

Cons:
- Very poorly maintained villa. Cleanliness standard was probably equivalent to that of a 2-star resort - all three toilets in the 3-bedroom villa had a strong sewage smell, master bedroom and pool area had two cockroaches, pool water was dirty
- Air-conditioner was leaking in one of the bedrooms and could not be fixed by the technicians
- Lots of mosquitos in the villa complex
- Slow service - booked a barbeque in the villa (for DIY cooking) and the food was only delivered about 1 hour after the initial booking time
- Kitchenette area only has a sink and utensils, and does not include a stove
- Beach club in the resort is under renovation
- Resort is located at a more secluded area in Batam and it takes about 35-45 minutes to get to the Batam city centre via taxi/private hire cars

The staff are incredibly accommodating and it is an easy trip from Singapore via ferry. Parts of the property were nice but the main pool and beach area were under construction. I’d say the photos might be a bit outdated or we just happened to come before the property was spruced up for high season. Overall it could use some love. Private pool was a huge asset, as was included breakfast.

My family of 5 recently stayed at Montigo resort and though we only had a short 2D1N stay, we had the most amazing time.

The villa was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed all the facilities within the villa and around the property.

But what sets the experience apart from other vacations we’ve had was the service. Every single staff member at Montigo we encountered was warm and helpful, attentive to our requests and going out of their way to make sure that we had an enjoyable stay.

In particular, staff members Felli and Andry helped us a lot during our stay and treated us with so much care that prompted my son to ask me if we’re VIPs. 😊

We definitely look forward to returning soon and once again like to say a huge thank you for the fantastic experience!!

Loved our stay here. Tbh, you didn’t really need to leave the villa for anything. Restaurants’ quality were all top notch, service staff were friendly and english standards were adequate. Really great place to just chill and relax for a couple of days. It does come with a price tag but at least you do get a luxurious stay so it’s worth it

The service there is wonderful. Even with WhatsApp , the response is extremely fast. However I believe they need to clean up some areas around the area outside the private pool which can’t be seen which has rubbish outside. The sea is also quite dirty with plastic bottles and plastic bags. Otherwise the service there is friendly and a good place to relax.

Room/villa offered was far away from matching ANY of the pictures from the advertisement. Same for the pool side.

We had to ask to have side bed lamps, and transat by the pool. Nothing was provided.

The staff tho did a good job accommodating after the request. Overall the staff is very nice and helpful here.

Food selection overall was so-so. Except the breakfast bread we found really good. But the buffet breakfast was usually too crowded and simple food like scramble eggs were a mix of over cooked eggs 2 out of 3 mornings.

Local options like Roti paratha were also far from great. (Basically eggs between 2 crepes).

We found the evening dinner at the main restaurant fairly noisy between the local band playing, the music from the restaurant and some party/karaoke next door.

Overall very disappointing stay, aside from the attentive and helpful staff.

Disappointing stay

Pros:
1. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly. Kudos to the team of staff who tried their best to keep us dry on a rainy day and cleaned our luggages at the lobby and at our villa
2. Also, kudos to Erwin and Herdika from the housekeeping team. Erwin went beyond the call of duty and was willing to share his personal number so that I can contact him directly if I needed any supplies
3. Staff were swift in attending to our feedbacks
4. Good selection and quality of food for buffet breakfast on an off-peak day

Cons:
1. Slippers supplied by the hotel does not have a good grip. I fell down in the toilet and in the living area
2. We had to wait for more than 15 mins for a buggy to pick us up during the peak season
3. 2 screws were found at the bottom of the swimming pool in our villa
4. Cupboard doors and many of the sliding doors around the villa were hard to slide
5. Water pressure was low after taking a Jacuzzi bath. Water was not hot too
6. Despite using the repellent, there are still many mosquitos, bees and ants around the villa. Surprised to find a dead cockroach in the living area too
7. Some of the lights in the villa are not working
8. There is only 1 aircon and a fan to cool the living area. It is unable to cool the area on a hot day
9. Some of the furnishing or equipment in our villa shows signs of wear and tear

Certainly not value for money given the price we paid for a 3-bedroom villa.

A resort with most of the things you need including restaurants and spa, thoughtful and responsive service and friendly staff. A good place to stay just to chill for 2 days and enjoy the pool and facilities.

My feedback will be that the prices are very close to Singapore pricing, expensive by Batam standards.

Note that there are no other food options or shopping around. Heading out to the city or mall will take you 40-45mins and the only means of transport is through booking a car at the concierge, as Gojek is not permitted. If you have a driver, they can come in to pick you.

Booked 3 villas (3 rooms in one residence) for family NY count down, ended up my bro slip and fall sprained his leg. Montigo given us very bad impression in my whole life of resort staying. The facilities broken down, staircase no light no handrail, most of the taps either leaking or not in good condition! The standard is not good at all! The 4D 3N of staying makes us keeps on asking for maintenance and room service (takes an hr), building structure is not safe (floor slippery, toilet for can’t lock, doesn’t provide enough toilet accessories, flooding when it rain etc). Hence, my family members said, this will be our first and last to stay in Montigo! NOT RECOMMENDED

Didn’t get a proper check in a just told to go wait in the restaurant for 3 hours until the residence was ready. The residence itself was lovely. Staff were disappointing as lots of waiting. Resort charges for everything At highly inflated prices. Disappointed at cost of everything . Eg. cost us $S160 to play archery for half an hour.
Restaurants were average at best and dinner at seafood restaurant for 5 (3 kids, 2 adults) was $300. Extortion. So many staff doing nothing. Counted 8 staff at checkout and only one person doing checkout as only one cashier - surely all the staff could go through it and just send go to cashier to pay. Ridiculous. I would recommend staying here- facilities are tired and Run down. Rubbish on the beach and so much plastic waste

1. Coach provided upon arrival at Nongsa Ferry Terminal. A Montigo staff was waiting to guide us to the coach. They already have a list of all guests checking in that day but you can provide your arrival time beforehand by sending them an e-mail.
2. Very personalised check-in. You are welcomed with a refreshing lemongrass drink and a front desk staff will approach you to process your check-in. The staff is assigned to you before your arrival, would have done some research on your profile and is ready to answer all questions. We were assigned Teguh, a hospitable, warm and thoughtful indiviual :) We had told him we were on our mini honeymoon as a passing comment and he later surprised us with a big slice of cake and a band of singers not long after we checked into our villa! He took a photo of us with the band and at the end of our stay, surprised us again by providing a framed photo of that memory!
3. We booked a Premier Villa with Sea View, which had a private pool. Quiet and peaceful, with plenty of privacy. Villas are arranged in a way that ensures you are obscured from your neighbour and they would not be able to listen in on your conversation unless you shout with maximum vocal power. Villa was also spacious and big, with plenty of towels (2 for bathing, 2 for swimming). Bathroom was also very big.
4. Plenty of activities to do. We booked a couple package at their award winning spa and it was AMAZING!
5.Be prepared to wait for buggies to get around during high occupancy

I am never visiting again.

I spent one night with my parents and husband, and it was total disappointment. I would say facility is fair, but the staffs and services are very bad for 5 star resort.

1) Phone does not work in the property, so we had to link whatsapp for services. They know many properties have broken phones, but they don't have an intention to fix them. They just guided visitors to use Whatsapp and when I used it to call, sounds were really bad. Why don't they just make phones work initially?
2) Any service we requested ended up not completely done or came really late. For us to get what we requested, we had to made multiple requests because they forgot things. e.g., we requested for cooking pot, it never got delivered. Wine opener took 40 minutes to get to us. Buggy service didn't come after confirmation (3 times), so we had to wait outside for 20 min and ended up walking to reception with all our luggage. Took us 20 mins to get towel by the pool. It can go on..
3) Restaurant choices are very limited. Only two restaurants available and they don't serve water. You have to buy water for $5.
4) It was raining when we got there and we had some spots with water dripping inside the villa. Near window, master restroom and stairs.
5) Hygiene - We found a line of ants in the morning, which came all the way from the whole on the wall.
6) Price - Not cheap. Water bottle from convenient store was $5. I bought it because they limited complementary water.

Overall it was a fantastic stay. We stayed on the hilltop for my family of 4. It was my sisters birthday and Montigo was helpful in arranging for a cake during dinner and towel arrangement prior to our arrival. Correspondence over emails were replied timely. I had a small complaint over the in room BBQ ala carte items (it was not as per the indicated size) but the day after my complaint, someone from Montigo Whatsapp me to offer a discount. I would have preferred a refund but I would still give a 10/10 for service. The customers are heard and responded to. The rooms are clean and spacious. The private pool in the room is clean. Room service is fast. Calling of buggy services to bring us around is also fast. Breakfast selection is not too bad and the selection for the two times we are there were different. Choices of restaurants in this self contained villa resort are also not bad - in room bbq or steamboat, seafood restaurant, cafe and another fusion restaurant. The prices are relatively higher to take into account that this is a self contained resort but we were okay with that as everything we need for the 3 days were in the vicinity. My only comment is for the mini zoo - I think the goats look malnourished and their home made of stilts seem very uncomfortable. If only they can get a bigger home with comfortable resting space.

Nice big villa. Booked the hilltop villa. Open view of the sea. Hilly compound, so buggy service is required to move around most of the time. Love the private pool in the living area. Great for chilling and doing nothing.
Breakfast has good selections. Spa is good.
Overall good experience. Just note that overall is a little pricey for the chargeable activities.

Ajis, Retno & Nurul saved the weekend and Montigo

The start of the stay was bad because there were groups of guests waiting to be checked in at 3pm. Most arrived early and had to wait 45 minutes before being lead to their villas. The same applies to my family.
When checked in - we found the living room was not clean with grass / dirts left behind and 1 of the bowl has a hair in it.
The request of more bottles of water came with a reply that the max additonal that can be given out was 2 bottles.
It was quite an unpleasant check in. Then Nurul came to the rescue of Montigo Resort - added me to Whatsapp and begin communicating with me on the conditions of the room etc.
Now Nurul makes all the effort to get things right from that point on.
She gets the room make up again, with 6 additional bottles of water and a turn down service. Buggy service came on time to ferry us from point A to point B.
Massage service was great and is value for money in comparison of spa massages in other resorts.
The team of Ajis, Retno, Twinda, Nur and Ika were thumbs up.
These group of people save my trip and impression of Montigo Resort.
Last but not least the water pressure of teh shower is suspicious, it can go from powerful to mild and back to powerful which is my pet peeve.

The place is way past its prime needs an overhaul. Finish is worn off several of the places are in shambles being reconstructed, and they are in the process of selling off units into private hands. a sure sign of decline. The place need millions to bring it back to 5 star. 20 years ago it probably was. Our first room had a leak, and the phone was cut of at the wire. They did move us to another villa. This one was slightly better. In the end they did try to make it back up to us but in the end it was not too relaxing.

Generally, my 4 days 3 nights stay was a very pleasant experience. The room is big and spacious and the private pool really impressive. The view of sunset was amazing and staff were really friendly. The only 2 issues are food variety and transport to other parts of Batam for those who did not drive on the island.

However, I must give credit to the staff for surprising me with a birthday cake and the ease of extending our stay for another night. If not for missing out on reissuing a new room key upon the extension which resulted in a 30mins wait to get into my room after our day out, I would have given the overall service 5 stars instead of the final 4 1/2 stars.

I have been recommending Montigo to my friends and colleagues because it was a memorable experience.

Service level is top notch. Staffs were fast to response to request. Most memorable was when I checked out I realised I left my wireless earbuds behind and we informed the driver who took us to the ferry terminal. To my pleasant surprise the driver appeared on the ferry 5 minutes before took off with my earbuds! He had rushed back to get it for me! Kudos to Mr Debinar!

Not too bad. Max probably 3D2N it’s worth it. Cannot take Grab unfortunately. We paid only $5 SGD from Rezeki Seafood to Montigo (Grab), but had to pay $15 from Montigo to Rezeki again (local taxi)

After so many years, finally tried the stay at Resort.
Impressive landscaping, can tell that the developers made a lot of effort to make all customers happy - every unit has it’s good sea view + all staff are well trained despite they are young staff + food selections are great.

We arrived at Montigo Resorts at 12pm but could not check in to our room till 3pm, this was not a problem as we were excited to relax by the swimming pool until check in time. However, we were not expecting there to be construction taking place directly next to the swimming pool. To compensate for the loud drilling taking place quite literally next to us the bar decided to play even louder music, the whole experience was completely the opposite of relaxing. Having spent $500 (SGD) a night to stay at Montigo Resorts this was very disappointing. The hotel was fully booked and you could tell as it felt like there were hundreds of people sitting in the reception and we struggled to find a table at breakfast, another stressful experience.

Once checked in to our room we finally felt relaxed and were very happy with the comfort of the room and private pool.

Please note, had we been made aware of the construction work we would not have chosen to stay here, particularly as we were being charged the full hotel rate. In future please make your guests aware and at least offer some kind of discount!

The hotel was beautiful, Super friendly staff and a wonderful view. When we got there the check in was quite delayed, however the activities around the resort kept us occupied. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and the villa was beautiful and view was sea front, we did have quite a few issues with our villa, like the master bedroom was stuck, some lights weren’t working, upon informing the staff they immediately looked into these issues and tried to resolve, since the door of the bedroom was unable to open they offered to change the villa the next day.

Over all I would say a beautiful place to stay and the staff are fantastic and make you feel an ease. Perfect get away to relax and unwind.

about Clean and hygienic

Montigo Resorts Nongsa is far from the noisy downtown, close to the sea, beautiful scenery and very quiet. The staff is warm and friendly and very friendly. The resort's spacious rooms have private small pools and kitchen facilities, making it ideal for the whole family. The only Clean and hygienic is that the sanitation is not perfect. The floor of the living room and the room is a bit dirty. The kitchen utensils are sent, the pot is not cleaned, the rice is still sticky on the spoon, and it feels uncomfortable. I hope that it can be improved in terms of sanitation. I also hope that my feedback can be taken seriously.

Below Expectation and a Disappointed Holiday

Montigo is obviously understaffed during my stay. Waited 30 minutes for the buggy to take us to breakfast. Worst, told reception that we had 7 person, but the buggy came with 2 other guests on it and we had to all squeezed in.

We were not told during reservation that there are renovation/upgrading works in the resort. We were not even told during check-in that the restaurant will be closed for breakfast the next day and we had to find our way to the make shift breakfast place. The breakfast selection was so limited I thought I am staying in a 2-stars resort.

The meal selection in the resort was so limited, be it in the restaurants or in-room service. Food quality not good and had to pay for delivery charges in the resort for in-room dining.

Overall, the experience is below expectation. This holiday is a total disappointment.

Run down hotel

1) villa inside trap with water along corridor when heavy rain. My family almost slip and fall. Safety concern
2) 1st night surprise no hot water. By the time we happy hour came back and realized it, already too late and since it was raining .
3) second day, it take very long to resolve the issue and we are impatience to wait for a good shower, we went to massage instead since that area provide shower.
4) breakfast staffs did not practise 1st come 1st serve control
5) during departure, call for service to pick up from villa to reception took us more than half an hour ! I had to walk personally to reception counter and ask for HELP !
6) only consolation is, they remember what I told them my arrival was to celebrate and they prepared a small cake for my wife and form a team to sing a birthday song to my wife. That lighten up the atmosphere a bit . Over all, still bad experience and did not enjoy that smoothly, especially 1st night, the aircon was so noisy and resulted both of us can’t even sleep !

For the amount we pay we expected to have better

I stayed in Villa 10.Just a suggestion they should provide more bath towel per room even there’s only 4 person in a room provide at least 6-8 bath towel and also more bath mat. Check the room facilities before the next person check in. I had a leaking valve under the sink in the living room, flooding our living room once I turn on the tap. Need to wait for an hr for them to come over and fix it.

Not worth the money. Badly maintained.

I’m puzzled by the good reviews as our villa was not well maintained. Not worth the money and this resort is in dire need of renovation and better maintenance. Some things that went wrong included bad showers (zero water pressure), TVs don’t work, doors don’t close properly, missing tiles in the pool, cleanliness is an issue with large brown patches on the floors. Pretty disappointment with my first montigo experience and will definitely not be returning.
