Had stayed this hotel during my two visited to My Fuji. Friendly staff and clean room. The room with the view of Mt Fuji was magnificent. The room is big enough to sleep 3 people. Varieties of food to choose for breakfast that comes with a view of Mt Fuji as you enjoyed your meal. Free shutter bus to Kawaguchiko which made our trips easier. Onsen was great but had to walk quite a distance. Will recommend this hotel.

Solo traveller. Stay 2 nights. Staff are friendly & helpful. I booked it because of price & Mount Fuji view. I’m lucky have three clear sky. Able to wake up see Mount Fuji is great. Breakfast was great. Quick service. Basic & variety but slight change of menu everyday. I like the Perk, free shuttle to town, onsen. Highland train station is at the other entrance. Need to walk through park can be confusing the first time. Not a lot of park staff or customers speak fluent English to give directions. And Fuji excursion in April is packed with non reserve customers standing in the train.
Taking Fuji excursion with mid size luggage is not recommended. Bus is better as highland bus stop is right next store. Bus doesn’t allow standing for safety reason. Book bus or train ticket ahead of time. Not sure if the free shuttle allow luggage or not. Alternatively go to Kawagochigo station & get a taxi.
Outside resort area, not a lot of other restaurant. Only a 711nearby. All of of eatery, food truck inside park. But only can access when park is open. I have Italian meal & dinner buffet. All good. Gift shop (no person) & operate 24/7 have frozen meal. Prices are reasonable. Onsen is awesome. Highway bus from Toyko Shinjuku is very convenient, quiet & Highland stop right next to it. Pre book bus or train ticket. Room is spacious, clean & the view is amazing. I can watch YouTube with my home streaming service. No English Channel. Air conditioning is comfortable on a hot day.

Beautiful hotel and well maintained for how busy it was. The room was incredible with unobstructed views of mt Fuji.
I bit far from town but a free shuttle bus provided transportation to nearby shopping and restaurants.
The FujiQ was right next store so if you go to the park it’s very convenient.

The room was a good size and the bathroom very clean & well decorated. The staff were lovely, very attentive and the complimentary shuttle to the train station is a great service.
I really enjoyed the traditional Onsen experience and dinner in the Kokorogi restaurant was delicious - nicely presented & great service.
We were treated to a beautiful view of Mount Fuji at Breakfast!

I came all the way to Mount Fuji to be able to use the Onsen. No notice was provided that I will not be allowed to wear a bathing suit or if I have tattoos, this Hotel will not allow me to use their facilities. Expedia and the hotels take advantage of the customers and that’s not OK.
Be aware and ask a lot of questions before booking! I will fight for my money back!

We stayed first night elsewhere but needed a hotel closer to the bus station for the second night. This hotel was perfect for that. In fact, the highway express bus stop is in their parking lot. The hotel is also convenient for the theme park but we only walked around that (lines are LONG). They also have a few stores and restaurants in the hotel, or connected to the theme park. Room was smaller than expected but clean. Breakfast was great and worth buying in our purchase - it also had a fabulous view of Mt Fuji in the morning. Only downside was the Onsen access. It’s a public Onsen (not just hotel guests) which after our resort experience the night before was too much hassle (and more strict about clothing and tattoos)

There was something wrong with my room and R. Takano made accommodations so my family can have a better experience.
The hotel is interconnected with the Fuji Onsen. It snowed that day we went. It was magical sitting in the natural hot spring with the snow falling on you.

The hotel is dated but very clean. The breakfast is very basic but it did have a fresh omelet and onigiri station. Made by 2 very friendly elders. The buffet room view had STUNNING view of mount fuji. The hotel is huge and is literally a 2 minute walking path to the amusement park. We didnt go because we have an infant.

We booked the 2 twin size bed and it worked fine with our infant.

One thing is when we arrived, no one came out to help us with our luggages and when my husband went in to get the luggage cart himself, a staff followed him but he didnt greet us or make eye contact or helped my husband with the luggage. He only stood by the cart, looking into the distance.

Other than that, most of the staff was friendly.

Book the mountain view. The window is not that big but it was worth every penny.

I would never ever stay here again! The staff was terrible. Not helpful at all. No one spoke English whatsoever even though it is supposed to be a bilingual hotel. All they would say is “I don’t know”. You are trapped unless you have a car there is no bus service and the concierge was never there. Their big claim is the onsen but it’s like Disneyland - I’m not going in if there’s 50 people ages 3-80 in it. Under 18 shouldn’t be there. Good was terrible and way overpriced. Their exclusive Japanese restaurant was poor quality and way overpriced. Just a really bad experience.

The highlight of my trip was this hotel.

The hotel offered a lot of amenities that I didn't know it had when booked originally. It's walking distance to the bus station which had shuttles from Tokyo and to Gotemba which made our Japan travel so accessible.

The hotel also offers their own free shuttle that goes around different stops in Fujiyoshida along with Lake Kawaguchi so you definitely have options of things to do and places to go.

The hotel also is located walking distance from an amusement park (free admission when booking with the hotel) along with a few cute theme 'parks'.

The food was amazing with a lot of choices (buffet, western restaurant, and japanese restaurant). The room we booked was huge...maybe a little too big for two of us but I'm not complaining. Our room faced Mt. Fuji and we were lucky enough to have a clear view of it.

I'm definitely booking here again. It was so worth it.

Resort was a perfect mix. One side had a grand view of Mt. Fuji, the other side looked out into the theme park (Fuji Q Highlands). Hotel Guests had free access to the Onsen next door and had an enclosed walkway for access. The onsen was clean and had a great payment system for items you need (vending machines, souvenirs etc...); electronic bracelet that allowed you to purchase from venders & souvenir stoors. Final Payment for services at a kiosk on the way out.

Staying at the Highland Resort Hotel & Spa was an incredible experience from start to finish. The convenience alone is fantastic — the Highland Express bus drops you off right in front of the hotel! But the moment you arrive, you realize this place is something special. The hotel is stunning — it almost feels like stepping into a movie scene, especially at night when the lights twinkle beautifully.

The lobby and rooms are spacious and elegant, and we were lucky to have a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji right from our window. Waking up to that view every morning felt surreal. And the breakfast buffet? Absolutely unforgettable. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a delicious meal while looking out at the majestic Mt. Fuji.

The hotel offers so many great amenities — access to one of the best onsens, private entry to the theme park, and shuttle service to nearby attractions around Mt. Fuji. Everything is thoughtfully designed to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible.

But what truly makes this hotel stand out is the staff. The team here genuinely cares about their guests, and their kindness and professionalism go above and beyond. A special thank you to them for helping me recover a bag I had accidentally left on a bus — they took the time to contact the bus company and provide me with all the details I needed. They were also very patient and reassuring when my luggage was delayed, keeping an eye on things until it arrived safely.

The room was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped. The view of Mount Fuji was exceptional. We appreciated having a couple of extra seats and plenty of room for luggage.

We did wish that the bed had more than two pillows. We looked around but could not find any extras in the room itself. A couple extra pillows would have made for more comfortable sleeping.

The east access to the amusement park as well as the Onsen were added bonuses. However, it is important to note that accessing other areas of the town from the hotel is very difficult by foot, especially this time of year when it gets dark early. The free shuttle was convenient, but didn't run very late in the evening so wasn't something we could rely on to get dinner. Having easier access to the sidewalk near the hotel would be an improvement.

The free bus stops right outside and takes you into town to experience Mt. Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi and many restaurants. We did not eat at the hotel so have no insight into the restaurant.

Fuji right across from it. The complimentary breakfast includes a wide variety of dishes, fresh fruit, desserts and even a live omelette station. The staff are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and ensure every detail of your stay is taken care of. Pro tip: book the massage services if you can — they’re well worth it. We stayed at five different hotels in Japan and this was by far everyone's favorite. How can hit beat stunning views is Mt Fuji, the most magical onsen, and all the amenities you could ask for? The hotel had a free shuttle to get around and we had a great time at the Mt and the amusement park. We wish we could have stayed longer!!!

Kids did the park, parents did the onsen.. we all enjoyed the view of the mountain..there’s nothing bad. There’s a shabbu restaurant (4 min walk jay walking, 10 mins using the bridge) that’s really good value and experience. Robots wheels the food over. Drinks and veggie are self serve. A ton of fun.
