Perfect for visiting Okayama Korakuen and Castle.

Excellent location, right next to the river, not far from the castle and Okayama Korakuen. Lovely views of the castle and the river. The room (904) was spacious, but it looked twice as big as all the other rooms on the floor according to the floor guide.

The views from room 1002 are spectacular, and even better, you can open the window for fresh air.

The small double room is cozy, but it perfectly adequate for a few nights stay.

About 15min walk from JR Okayama, 5 minutes to the castle, and just a little further to the gardens, the hotel is in a lovely location.

Around 5 minutes by tram from JR Okayama station, also it's a walkable distance. Staff were great. Room was clean. Didn't use any facility so couldn't comment on it. Some restaurants inside the hotel and they looked good too.

I arrived early at 10.30a.m. so while the check-in procedures have been completed, I could only get a room after check-in time. We went out to explore, thinking that we would retrieve them in the evening. However, to our pleasant surprise, the staff had already sent our luggage to our room. I had a room facing Okayama Castle too. This hotel is really near to Korakuen and Okayama Castle. However, it is quite a distance from JR station. There is a tram station near the hotel but it is still troublesome when you have your big luggage.

Cost friendly hotel room

Room was ready for check-in an hour earlier than the official time so I was happy. While the hotel is well situated for the gardens and the castle there is not much else around. Hotel was also one of the older hotels I had stayed in and the room felt dated. Good for the price.

Hotel might be about 20 minute walk from the station but it is close to the park and the museums. The train stop is near by, just 100 yen will take you to the Okayama Station in no time. Breakfast choice is good, much better than those offered by hotels in similar grade. It would be nice to replace the dated shower head, then I could have a more enjoyable shower.

Hotel is very near to Korakuen Garden and Okayama Castle. Convenient to reach hotel from Okayama Station by the tram just 3 stops away.
Hotel is old but room is still clean with aged furniture. Basic amenities, with a small jug kettle enough to make Japanese tea.
Breakfast is a good spread of Japanese food.

Quite happy with the hotel. It has a self-service laundry - a real plus for travelers. The staff were very nice and gave me good recommendations for restaurants. It's in a very central spot, great for sights and for getting around the city. The breakfast buffet was extensive and a real value. Would very much recommend the place.

Very good staff service, We leave our luggages before check in because we arrive hotel too early, but after we go back to the room. Our luggages were bring to the room already !! Fast and stable wifi in room. I love breakfast here because of plenty of choice. Room was so clean and good amentities even face foam. We got the great Castle view from our room even economy room !!! Great and perfect hotel.

excellent location by tram stop from station, and near castle and gardens. Pleasant, helpful staff, good café/restaurant. on the negative side - canal and river walks unattractive with no flowers, and this area of city a bit run down, poor shops.

GREAT HOTEL

As there aren't many hostels at Okayama, this is definitely one of the good HOTELS. Staff speaks little English; it wasn't a problem for me. They serve you everything you need for a smooth check-in. Bear in mind that though they couldn't speak our language eloquently; they are always ready to give their best to help you. Room is ok for one-person stay. Basic amenities are available. Most of all, it is DEFINITELY walkin' distance to Okayama-jo and Koraku-en!! A ~10-min walk from JR Okayama station. many convenient stores are nearby. At night, the surrounding is quiet for a good night sleep :)

Convenient location, nice room with a good view

I stayed here for one night while attending a concert (the concert venue was a 5 minute walk from the hotel so it was very convenient). There was a nice view of the river and castle from my room on the ninth floor. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff member at the reception was helpful and spoke English. There were many cultural and historical sites near the hotel and the area was also great for shopping and entertainment.

Best location n good value. No 1 service.

Stayed for 2 nights got the room with castle view n watching sunrise in the morning. Good size room too.
Great value for money.
The hotel is a bit dated but no complaint with good price. Smell from Chinese restaurant is the worst park. I was feeling sick n got to checkin earlier. Thanks to all the staffs hospitality.

Adequate, Standard Business Hotel

Very average, standard business hotel but located close to Okayama Castle, Korakuen Garden, Okayama Symphony Hall and Okayama Civic Hall. Plenty of restaurants around. The breakfast buffet was ordinary but adequate. The mattresses are old and need to be replaced. The rooms are small but standard. Staff is very helpful and spoke good English. This place is fine for a night or two in Okayama.

Best customer services I have ever experienced.

The room was very clean and decorations were new. The staff are very polite, caring and spoke fluent English. The mid-age short hair male staff spoke really good English both in pronunciation & fluency. He upgraded our room from Economy Semi-double Room to Deluxe Double Room with massage chair and high floor view of Okayama Castle. We left our luggage at front counter lunch time as too early to check in time, but so surprisingly glad that when we returned at 6pm they have already moved our luggage into our room. The hotel has its restaurant, cafe, souvenir kiosk. Its location is great - next to tram station connecting Okayama JR station (where Bic Camera dept store and shopping corridor with many restaurants) and walking distance to Okayama Castle and Korakuen. I have visited Japan 5 times annually for holiday and the experience at this hotel was the best ever. Full stars rated!

The hotel was in a nice location close to the castle, garden and pedestrian arcade street which had many dining options. The train station was an easy walk or easier tram ride away. Room was typically compact, but we were given a corner room with massage chair and view of the castle. Breakfast was a good value, with ample choices.

Simple, great hotel near Okayama station

Very glad I chose Excel while I was in Okayama! It's about a 10-15 min walk from the station, but it's just straight down the road so not too complicated. Room was perfect size, and I found the atmosphere to be very relaxing and restful. For some reason reminded me of my stays in America at hotels?! Not sure why but it was nice. There wasn't anything super special but everything felt just right. There are several museums, a movie theater, Okayama castle and some famous parks very close by which was great!

We stayed here for a night prior to visiting the garden and castle in Okayama and heading on to Naoshima. The hotel was conveniently located a couple of stops on the tram from the station and 5 minutes from the garden/castle area. Our room was spacious and comfortable with an exceptional view of the castle.

I used this hotel as a base for travelling around the area. It was fine, perfect for what I needed, but the room did smell slightly of smoke despite me having requested a non-smoking room. Received a complimentary breakfast both mornings though, which was very nice.

Good location near to the station and close to the castle and garden which is well worth a visit. Staff were friendly and rooms clean and of a good size in comparision to many we have stayed in in Japan. For families travelling with young babies be aware that the hotel does not have cots.

Get the massage chair and you're set!

Good sized room. It's actually a standard size for double in Japan. You can move around without issues. The bathroom is an older Toto modular cube system that is prevailant in Japanese hotels. Staff were very friendly and helpful and were able to hold our bags after we checked out to do further tourist activities. Located close to the streetcar/tram line station and is easily gotten to from Okayama station.
Older style so not too shabby but could come with a facelift.
Breakfast buffet was quite tasty with a range of foods (western and Japanese influenced).
Amazing view of Okayama Castle from our window which also surprisingly opens up and allowed me to take crisp photos.

建物は古いけどお手入れをされている感じで不快さはないです。お部屋の荷物置きのところに髪の毛が一本落ちていたことと部屋の空調かなと思うのですがゴォーと低音がなっていたことがほんの少しだけ気になったかな？と言う程度で、お部屋は広くて洗面もお風呂も清潔だしベットも広くて快適だったし、お部屋からお城も見れるし最高でした！ベットサイドにコンセントがあれば完璧だけど、口コミを読んでいたので延長コード持参しましたのでこれも問題なしでした！朝食は最高に美味しかったです！これは絶対食べなきゃ損です！

城下地域のお勧め施設

　宿泊が新年の元日という事で周辺の飲食店は閉まっていましたが、徒歩ですぐコンビニがあったので助かりました。
　通常は周辺には徒歩10分圏内に多種多様な飲食店があり事かないと思います。
また、観光面では近隣に岡山城、後楽園や美術館もあり、心落ち着ける事も出来ると考えます。
　また、交通アクセスも抜群です。

少し古いホテルかと心配したが、バスルームは改装されたのかキレイでした。各種シャンプーや加湿器などの貸出品も多く、困ることは何もありませんでした。バッフェ形式の朝食も1000円とホテルにしては安く、種類が多くて美味しかったです。チェックアウト時間が１２時と、翌日特に予定のない場合はゆっくりできます。値段を考えるととても満足です。

추운 겨울에 난방은 거의 되지 않았으며, 너무 건조했고 에어컨 내부는 먼지가 있었다. 가습기도 이용하고자 하였으나 내키지 않을 정도의 청결상태였다. 오래된 비즈니스 호텔이라 어쩔 수 없다고 생각은 하지만, 너무 아쉬웠다. 특히 침대시트는 정말 커버와 이불솜이 따로 놀아서 화가 날 정도였다. 추위와 이불 때문에 잠을 거의 자지 못했다. 위치는 괜찮다.

ホテルの大きさの割には、朝食が良かったです。

新幹線の駅から少し離れますが、路面電車の駅の直ぐ側なので、割と便利、岡山城や後楽園に観光する人は、便利だと思います。
ただ、一つトイレに後付で、ウォシュレットが付けて有るのは良いのですが、サイズが合ってないので、男性の方は要注意

掃除もリネンも綺麗
鏡とは別に姿見あり

The location is excellent. Though it is not located closed to JR station(15 min walk or need to to few min street car), it is located at the heart of the culture zone of Okayama, surrounded by symphony hall, museums and art museums. It also closed to Okayama castle and Karokuen Garden.
The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and the room is spacious, compared with other business hotels in Japan.
The breakfast is excellent with various western and Japanese food, fresh and delicious.
