It smelled.I wasted my money. It was hot. No air conditioning. Windows didn't open. I couldn't stay there or sleep due to the fact that the room smelled like raid roach spray. I paid for 3 days and stayed 30 minutes long enough to get a uber and another room. Japan doesn't give refunds so I lost my money. I had to pay 654.00 to go to another hotel at the last moment. I paid for insurance for my hotel stay yet no one wants to refund me. This hotel mis represented itself. Ruined my trip.

Basic small rooms but served the purpose for what I needed. Very close to Ryogoku station which is two stations from akihabara, and two more stops from Tokyos main station. There is some great little restaurants along the train station wall. And a convenience store directly across the road from the hotel. Breakfast was ok and typical Japanese hotel breakfast.
I would stay there again for its location and price.

It was across from the station and made getting around the city extremely convenient, the area is filled with plenty of restaurants to choose from, grabbing something to eat late at night is nice a quick with several conbini stores in the area. If you come in the right season you can enjoy the sumo from across the street. Overall the hotel is placed in a prime location but the rooms can be small for some visitors especially the 2 beds option so just keep that in mind. Would I stay here again? Definitely, the size of the room is a minor thing for me, the station and everything that's available around the hotel was perfect.

It is an affordable hotel with rooms on the smaller side. The JR station is just two minutes walk away which makes it very convenient. There is a view of the skyline if you are staying at the upper floors of the property.

Very close to a subway station so it can be a good base for daily travels for a fair price.
Also lots of eats around, some of them are 24/7. The neighbourhood worth exploring.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. It was April 2016 and its 25 degree days outside. At night its steaming hot inside your room and when we contact the hotel reception they say they cant do anything about the aircon cause THERE IS NO AIRCON until May frist week as they start summer only the HEATER runs through the month of April. Only advised they gave us to open the windows and sleep. We are a young family and our toddler went to sleep staright away after a busy day.But our 10 month old couldn't sleep. We opend the window and cannot believe how noisy that was. We felt like trains are running over us. They shouldn't be operating as a hotel if the aircon is not controllable by the hotel guests and it is a very high risk health Hazard. Front staff is helpless and innocent though.Would not recommend for anyone. Think twice what you get in to before booking this hotel.

Run down hotel, wall paper are peeling off, any request made like no smoking room etc. are no guaranteed, they will only looked at your request on the day you check-in when it is too late. Only a few none smoking room available especially for 3 persons booking. Hardly anybody speaks English. Picture shows are probably 20 years ago. Only one advantage, it is across the JR station.

Classic western hotel a la Japan (i.e., not traditional tatami rooms but cruise-ship tight feeling quarters). Affordable and convenient/optimum location and did just what it needed to. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Knowing a little Japanese will go a long way.

Our Stay at the Pearl

We are not fussy people. So long as we get a good sleep and a wash, we are happy.

We thought the staff to be beautiful and humble, much like the rest of Japan, We were treated with the utmost respect and care. You could say that the room was a bit cramped and the bath very small, but we see all kinds of stuff, and it did not damage our enjoyment.
Breakfast was lovely.

It's not close to busy suburbs for overseas visitors, but going by JR is only one minute away.
Rooms are small, but we were well fed during breakfast with good food, with both Japanese and western style dishes. We had to rush a bit in the dining area as the waitress quickly cleaned up the table for the next guests. All the staff were polite and helpful.

This was a great hotel. We turned up early and it was no problem the staff were great. The location was great from trains to anywhere. The neighbourhood was wonderful Sumo and Coffee shops. We had great views, a fantastic little laundry room. We have travelled all over the world and stayed in some amazing hotels we are currently travelling for a year. This hotel for us was one of the best two adults and 11 year old daughter. The rooms were small but the comfiest beds and pillows. The views amazing. The water hot, the staff friendly and helpful and everything you needed was there we loved the VODS tele thing. Oh and clean you could eat off the floor in the toilet it was so clean. Thank you

Perfect for all things sumo

A perfect hotel if you want to be in the Sumo area, but also have quick access to the JR lines and the rest of Tokyo. The neighbourhood is nice too. The hotel itself is also fine in all departments; nothing flashy but nothing poor either. My room was located surprisingly near to the expressway which concerned me initially, but actually I did not hear any noise from there. The staff are able to speak English.

The hotel was a great location. When I got off the subway I saw the hotel from the subway platform. There was a MacDonalds close. It was so easy to get morning coffee. The location was near the sumo stadium and there were statues of sumos and other things with in easy access. The hotel was so close to the subway and although I didn't take the bus I saw it stopped in front of the hotel. I felt like the area was very safe.

Convenient enough to the station, 1 min walk. Depending on your requirements, budget etc, most business hotels are fairly basic, the twin room I had was big enough included breakfast. Quiet location, 2 stops from JR Yamanote Akihabara. Sobu line also goes through to Shinjuku side of Tokyo. Subway Oedo is bit of a hike, about 5 minutes. Plenty of restaurants near by. Sumo center opposite. Can see the sky tree.

Very short stay but very comfortable stay

Over all, we were very satisfied. The room was small, but we were already expected. It was very clean room, and yukata (Japanese pajama !) and slippers and all amenities were amazing !! I am Japanese who is living in the U.S. about 20 years now. I brought my two daughters with me, and they really liked the hotel !! It was so closed to the Ryogoku Kokugikan where the main Sumo stadium was. We will stay here again!!

Lovely hotel

The hotel is across the road of the JR station which is pretty convenient. But because of this, you can hear the noise of the trains early in the morning and late at night. Oh well, might as well early get up and go out to play earlier. The room is always clean and comfort. It might be a bit small for foreigners, but it is the standard size of budget hotels. Since I don't really mind a small room, so that's alright. The hotel staff is very friendly, helpful and able to speak English. There is a laundry place to wash clothes so that you don't need to bring too much.

A standard hotel in a big city which you should not expect a spatial room but comfortable enough for a business trip. The location is great, however, hence it is very close to the Ryogoku station and many good restaurants around. Staffs are very kind but it may be a bit hard if you try to communicate in a complex English.

Room is tiny but I guess that's normal for Japan and one cannot forget that it's budget hotel. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is super tiny but well designed and super efficient for such a small space. Big plus goes for Japanese style toilet with washlet.
Buffet style breakfast was excellent every single day.
Hotel's staff English is very poor to non existent although I can say that they have tried to assist us the best they could with everything.
Hotel's location is pretty close to subway station and JR station is right across the street. Ryogoku sumo wrestling stadium and Edo museum is right across the street as well.
Famous Akihabara district is one subway station away or 20 minutes walk.

Good business hotel on an interesting part of Toky

Stayed here for a night and really enjoyed the experience.

This hotel is located in Sumida, right next to a major sumo stadium and the Tokyo Edo museum. Lots of places to eat by just crossing the road.

Not exactly central Tokyo but you can walk to akiabara and shybuiya and ueno are a short and cheap train ride away from the very close train station.

Nice hotel with staff that speaks great English. Clean rooms though not very big. Bathroom a little nicer than what I've got at other budget hotels. Nice and complete amenities (robe, onetime slippers, comb).

Good Wi-Fi everywhere, stable and decent latency and throughput.

Coin operated laundry and vending machines. Very convenient.

Excellent value for money. Would stay again.

Extremely small room and not that clean to japan standard. Hotels is no parking as advertise. And next to hotels it cost 1300 jpy instead of 1700 jpy that pffer by some elevate car park behind the building. Good luck if you like to try. Or if you come for sumo then stay for a days

On the doorstep for Sumo

Only stayed over for one night so I could watch Sumo and you can't pick a hotel closer. The JR station is across the road (could hear the trains through the night, but could still sleep) and the sumo building is on the door step also. The rooms are small but then again most hotels in Tokyo are.

Great Budget Hotel

I spent 4 nights at the hotel and found it exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. the room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The large soaking tub was great!. I would also like to add the free bike rentals were a great amenity that I was able to use to ride all over Tokyo. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheap yet very comfortable stay.

Location is excellent, it's a 1 min walk from the JR station (tokyo transit), which can get you anywhere you want to go. Hotel is OK. The wifi is only available in the lobby (only 4 seats), but there are two desktop computers for quick use. The rooms are adequate, but non-smoking rooms were smokey often.Summary: for the price and location you cannot beat this hotel, but if you are on a romantic trip or looking for something upscale. This is not your hotel.

The hotel has a very friendly staff everyone was very helpful in turns off giving directions or advices of good places to go eat or visit.. The only thing I wasn't satisfy was the fact that it didn't offer wi-fi but besides that my staying in this hotel was wonderful.. If u do decide to stay here the best place with the best wi-fi is located in a seven eleven store.. I recommend taking the train a lot it will become like your best friend (yellow train).. Oh!! Another important fact hotels.com has this hotel located in Asakusa while in reality is located in Ryogoku which is a town known for the sumo a traditional Japanese sports.. The main street has status of different positions that are done in this sport.. This is a very quiet town you would think that because you are so close to the train that you might catch a sleep but no in the contrary you barely hear the sound of the train.. In other words, don't think the sound would be compare as the noise that occurs everyday, every single minute in New York.. You will have a good experience in this town there's lot to be seem in this town..

The hotel was very nice. As others have said, there was a little bit of noise from the nearby train station, but not enough to bother me.

The hotel was much nicer than I expected. Definitely cramped (at least in our 2 person 'studio' room, which was a regular room with an extra bed in it), but I expected cramped in Tokyo, Japan.

The only problem I have is their claim of a \"bilingual staff\". While I was at the hotel, I was definitely able to communicate without a problem with the staff. However, while trying to call the hotel (especially when lost and trying to find the hotel) the staff was VERY unhelpful on the phone. At one point, even simply telling me \"No english\"

The Pearl Hotel is a very clean environment. The Hotel is right across from JR rail station which makes it a very good choice. Half of the hotels room are refurbished. So ask for a new room!

Small, but worth the price

Lets get this out of the way, the room is very small! There wasn't much room at all. You basically walk in, and theres a bathroom and beds and not much else. So when I give it 5 stars I am not ranking it on the same scale as nice hotels, but I am ranking it for what it was, a low priced place to sleep after a day in tokyo.

The staff was very friendly. and the room was clean. The hotel was very easy to find, just a 1 minute walk from the JR Ryogoku station. The location was amazingly convenient! I was able to walk to Sky Tree, and to get to every major district in Tokyo. Speaking of Sky Tree, I had a perfect view of it from my window! I did not expect a room that was so cheap to have a view of Japan's newest and biggest landmark, so I was very pleasantly surprised.

Some people complained about the train noise, but with my window closed and on the 9th floor I did not hear much noise. Basically, book the room expecting a tiny place to sleep, and you will be satisfied with everything about it.

The hotel is under renovation and we were given an OLD room without a placeto hang our clothes.we told them at the desk we were not happy but all they could do was apologise as they were \"Full Up\" if you go make sure you get a renovated room!The Elevated(Not subway greets you every 20 mins.with a roar !This place was Not our cup of tea,thankyou!!

冷蔵庫は全く冷えず飲み物も朝には常温になっていました。
エアコンも最低温度にしていましたが効きが悪く夜中は蒸し暑かったです。
真夏の宿泊だと熱中症は避けられないので他のホテルを探しましょう。

内装は少し古そうな仕様でしたが、
駅前で、すぐにわかるし、
夜からの公演を見て、その後飲食店食事の予定でした。
近くに夜遅くまで営業しているところが多く、素泊まりでお酒を飲んで、あとは寝るだけのような使い方だったので充分でした。

家族で2泊利用しました。
ベッドやお風呂など清潔感があって気持ち良く過ごせました!! (ベッドが家族分あって助かりました)
前からあるホテルの様で、建物内や廊下、部屋の絨毯などに古さは感じるものの、滞在には何不自由なく、とても快適でした!!
朝食はバイキング形式で、物凄く沢山メニューがある、と言うワケではないけど、朝食に戴くには丁度良い量で、パン食の方はトースターで好きな焼き加減に出来る感じでした。毎日メニューが少し変わり、有難かったです。
私達の部屋からは東京スカイツリーや首都高がバッチリ見えて最高!! 我が家族には嬉しいお部屋でした!!
チェックアウトの時の対応が、いわゆる\"塩対応\"で若干残念でしたが…チェックインの時はかなりスムーズ、丁寧な対応でしたし、丁度、修学旅行の学生さん達も入っていた様ですから、信頼と実績があるのではと感じました。
今回、駅からも近いこちらを利用できて、大変満足でした!! また機会があったら利用したいと思います。ありがとうございました!!

一応一通り公式サイトなど拝見して予習行ったのですが。

駅前1分の凄くわかりやすい立地。
目的地の両国国技館も目の前で便利でした。

ただ、いちばんシンプルなプランの宿泊だからかもしれないですが。
部屋の照明が枕元とスタンドしかない。
部屋全体が暗い。(非常に不安)
部屋に時計がない。
メモ帳が無い。
予想以上に真夜中の騒音が凄かった。
(部屋によると思いますが。)
内窓を開けると、少しすきま風を感じた。
利用したのは7階フロアでした。

シンプルな素泊まりなので良いのですが残念でした。

Plutôt déçu, la déco et l'ameublement de l'hôtel datent d'une certaine époque. Concernant la propreté, la salle de bain contenait des poils et des cheveux des clients précèdents, la ventilation de la salle de bain était remplie de poussière et autres dépôts présents depuis bien longtemps, même poussière dans la chambre, le petit déjeuner était moyen. J'étais dans un hôtel la veille pour le même prix et qui était deux crans voir trois au dessus. Je ne recommande pas vraiment...sauf si vous n'avez pas d'autre choix comme ce fut le cas pour moi

口コミである程度の古さは想定しておりましが、宿泊フロア（４F）のEVを降りたとたん違和感を感じる匂いがあり、客室内でもさらに異なる臭気が。カーペットを含めて古さを否めず、設置されていた除菌消臭ミストを時間差でカーペットに数回散布し解消したように思います。終日雨模様でしたので潜在的なニオイが再燃したのでしょうか？　アレルギー反応（持病あり）が起きる程ではなかったので、宿泊には差し支えありませんでした。

神のものは神にカエサルのものは

クリーンな普通のビジネスホテルでした。今回は某ミュージシャンの年越しライブを国技館で見るために、取ったホテルだったので、場所は歩いて3分のこのホテルはベストポジションで、他に選びようがなかったのですが、実際に泊まってみても申し分はありませんでした。
