We had stayed at the Sunseeker Motor Inn back in the late 80's and early 90's when our children were small. Back then it was a great motel. Booked our accommodation for a one-night stay, from completing the booking to leaving on Friday to come home, the staff were very friendly and loved a chat. The room has plenty of light. When we opened the door, it was so fresh, it was spotless. the room was immaculate. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for great accommodation at a reasonable price. Close to the shops.

This motel has a lovely pool area as there are no nearby patrolled beach’s & is a little out of town about a 15 min walk or 2 min drive but overall we enjoyed our stay.

We had a great stay at the Sunseeker Motor inn. The room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the double-glazed windows ensured the room was quite. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to ensure our stay was excellent. The property is extremely well maintained. The grounds were clean and tidy. It would be our first choice whenever we are in the area.

Just off the main road, and close to shops etc. Although close to the main road we had no problems with noise, however it was a Saturday night. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious although it was rather an odd shape. Tea/coffee making facilities and 3 cups/saucers provided, but no plates or bowls. But to be fair the room was not advertised as having a kitchen or cooking facilities. Without doubt the outstanding feature of this Motel was the restaurant. It was first class serving delicious food in a lovely environment with the added bonus of offering a very reasonably priced wine/drinks list. The service was also excellent.

Excellent Motel, we had a executive suite, bathroom looked like new, double glazing on the window made it super quiet, restaurant food was first class, just delicious, my only niggle was the bed was a bit firm for me, my wife thought it was fine, so just a personal opinion, so shouldn't detract from what was an overall excellent experience, highly recommended.

We had the spa suite last weekend.
Size of the room is great. Bed is supercomfy. Linens and pillows are in great condition and immaculately clean. Good choice of toiletries. And A bar store in the room full of great goodies at a fair price. The spa was amazing. Location is great (on the main highway. )Shopping district is 2 minutes away by car. Daily housekeeping is a bonus! Will be booking for more weekends.

The breakfast was charged by item which we found a bit confusing but we had a really nice room and were able to bring our own food in. Near the main road but at night there was no traffic so did not find this disturbing. We would definitely stay here again.

rundown motel with highway truck noise all night

From the photos, I was aware that the room looked a bit old and tired, but the bathroom wasn’t cleaned thoroughly and there were hairballs clearly visible on the floor. The room also smelled very musty so I had to keep the door open for a while to try to air it out, but the trouble was that then let insects into the room. Once everything quietened down for the night, I then realised that the location on the highway meant you could hear every car and truck passing by, accelerating and decelerating on the hill. Not recommended, go stay somewhere else along the river instead

We had booked a one-night stay at this hotel, and one night elsewhere. We thought the other hotel would be the highlight of our stay, and this one would be 'acceptable.' However, the other 'posher' hotel was in fact sub-par, and this one turned out to be excellent. The location might not offer any ravishing views, but the rooms were huge. Absolutely huge!

The brick wall in the rooms were a old-fashioned, but I loved it. The beds were firm and comfortable.

The bathroom appeared to have been done recently, and were nice, clean and functional.

Some minor quibbles:

- The hotel is located near a highway, and can be (slightly) noisy from time-to-time, but it was not overly so during our stay.

- The plug points were close to the table top, so if you are using an international adapter (or even an Apple one), you might not be able to plug your device in. However, one can charge their device by using the plug point in the bathroom!

Nice enough, pleasant stay, but not 4.5 stars

While visiting Bateman's Bay for the weekend we chose to stay at the Best Western as it was conveniently located for what we were planning to do. The website (and Expedia) both state that it is 4.5 stars - given that is only half a star down from the very best that hotels can offer I was severely disappointed. The room was spacious, but the furnishings looked dated. The only bright spot was that the bathroom appeared recently renovated but, given that I only spend a short time out of my total stay in the bathroom, this was not a huge selling point. We also had a room that faced the main road, so traffic noise was an issue until after 11pm. Even then, I was woken a number of times during the night by trucks gearing up/down as they drove past. Breakfast was ordinary at best, my wife and I both ordered omelettes, but I had things in my omelette that I didn't ask for (zucchini), and my wife had the same experience (mushrooms)......at one point we thought we simply had each other's breakfast but, alas, that wasn't the case.
On the whole, it was an underwhelming experience after expecting 4.5 star luxury.
