The room was tiny. No real cup or glass, try to make tea in a melting paper cup. The minimum was supplied. The place was clean and the staff was nice. Too far from the center.

Room is very small shower is even smaller was a detachable shower head in a shower you couldn’t turn around in when the water hit the sliding glass door for the shower it leaked water in the floor couple of pieces where broke on the sliding door the door fell down at me 2 times

The hotel had construction going on. Very loud, dusty, and all day! They pit us in room next to construction. It was small and loud.
Had them put us in room size we paid for and away from construction. They did move us but still close to noise. Very dissappointed.

When visiting the Ducati museum

Super friendly staff and all of them very helpful, helped with directions to the Ducati museum, which bus to take downtown, selling bus tickets in the lobby and the morning cappuccinos! Very quiet and beds were perfectly firm. Location was very good for our activities and there was a very good restaurant nearby. Since the Ducati factory was closed so we couldn't take that tour we are obviously coming back and will stay here again for sure. Oh yeah, breakfast was very good too!

This hotel is over 3 km away from city center and the train station. We walked the distance and with luggage which was not easy but definitely doable. The area looked sketchy but but maybe it is normal for locals. We used the free bikes to ride to San Luca and then to city center which was cool. Hotel was ok but even triple room felt cramped. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This property was great. Not close to the centre of the city but a short bus ride (#13 bus) got us there quick. You can buy bus tickets at the front desk, or on the bus directly. The staff treated us great! The rooms are very spacious, very well kept, and super clean. A bit on the older side but still nice and big. No pool. No balcony. They brought us a baby crib with extra towels for the children which was very nice. No breakfast offered but there is a mall close by (near the bus stop) with a GREAT cafe to eat at. The mall also has a grocery store. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We would return here in the future. kid/family friendly resort.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. The bathroom could have used a bit more cleanliness. There was a leak at the overhead entrance air conditioning vent that was dripping whenever the air conditioner was turned on. The restaurant’s were within walking distance. Overall it was a good to fair stay considering the price we paid for the room.

We only stayed overnight in transit toVenice but found the room clean and comfortable. I was pleased that parking was included and on site since it was raining when we arrived. I was also happy the hotel has partnered with a local restaurant to support food be delivered; and it was hot, tasty and reasonably priced!
Breakfast was not included in our package but was only 8 euros and was very hearty with lots to choose from!
Overall we were quite pleased with our stay and would definitely consider staying again if in Bologna

Hotel Maggiore Bologna was a nice way to end our stay in Italy. It was clean, quiet, comfortable, and located near the airport. The front desks clerks were very helpful and kind. I enjoyed the breakfast, and there were places nearby for dinner. I would definitely stay here again when flying to or from Bologna.

This property is very clean, the front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating and will do anything they can to help you. The room is comfortable with a nice sized bathroom (which we found isn’t always the case in some hotels in Italy). The property also has an on-site laundry room where guests can do their own laundry. There is also a grocery store and great little restaurant within a short walking distance of the hotel. Although this property is about 2 miles from the city center, the bus stop is only 1/2 block away, making it very easy to access the city center. The only negative is the bed pillows were a bit too hard for our tastes...but we would definitely stay there again.

Everybody is super kind and helpful, the breakfast is at par and the rooms are spotless. Bologna Centrale train station is only 40mins away by foot with some cool shops and supermarkets along the way. Also, if you feel like eating pizza at the hotel, there is a pizza place right around the corner of the hotel, about a 30 second walk! Great place and I would stay here again :)

A very charming property, Hotel Maggiore Bologna was the perfect choice for our four-person party at the end of our trip to Italy. Front desk staff were absolutely welcoming, as well as professional. The rooms were set up with everything we would need for the evening, and were very clean and tidy. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, and we went to one of the three recommended by the hotel and enjoyed our dining experience there. In the morning, staff rang a taxi for us, and we were able to get to the airport in a timely manner. Grazie mille.

This hotel has great local transport links with bus stops either side of the hotel on the main road into town and is a short taxi ride (c.10 euro) from the bus/train station and airport. There is an Areobus stop not far from hotel on the way in/from town.Regular bus tickets are available to buy (1.5 euro) from the hotel reception on a use or return basis. It has friendly, clean but slightly dated decor, a small bar, free wifi and friendly reception staff...we didn't go to breakfast but is smelt great! The rooms aren't quiet however and we were woken by sirens in the early morning (around 6am) that we presumed came from the nearby hospital clinic. There's a great bar and a couple of restaurants/pizzeria down the road, as well as a large supermarket type mall to check out.

Good hotel for city and airport

Stayed here as we had an early flight next day. The hotel was fine and the staff pleasant and helpful.
It's a short bus ride into the city centre (reception can sell you bus tickets) which is well worth a visit.

Basic but clean hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bed and pillow very hard and uncomfortable though. Close to the airport, only 15 euros by taxi. Short bus ride (no.19) to the centre and you can buy your tickets from the shop near the bus stop, not far from hotel. Within easy walking distance to the stadium. All round a good experience, would recommend.

Decent hotel near the airport

We needed a decent hotel near the airport for our morning flight. The hotel was simple, clean, comfortable. Breakfast was great.
Only complaint was that we had booked the room for 2 adults and 2 children. The children's beds were not made up for us, so we had to go request sheets and blankets.

This hotel does not turn on the ac automatically. They will judge based on the day if it hot enough to turn on the ac. The weather was not bad if you open the windows but then this place is right next to the hospital and you will hear ambulance sirens all day and night. I would avoid this place if you are a light sleeper.

HONEST HOTEL BUT NOT UP TO INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS

Owner and staff were very helpful and kind. Hotel was clean and in proper order. Elevators are not really made to carry luggage. Rooms are in line with Italian standards (a kind of old style) but a dry heating at night with not proper humidification made our stay miserable with allergies and sneezing all night long. Again staff and everything else was very professional and helpful.

This is a nice clean hotel a little far from the city center.
They offer decent breakfast.
I didn’t do to well at the restaurant.
There is an excellent restaurant called ZITA just around the corner. Its homemade bologna style. Do not miss it.
Service at the desk depends on who you talk to.
I will stay again at this hotel if I could not find anything downtown.

We left our luggage in the hotel before check-in time and when we came back to check in, everything is already ready and our luggage are in the room. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The balcony with city view is very nice. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone going to the area!

The hotel is a little worn, but clearly well cared for, and staffed by helpful, competent people. Unattractive exterior, much better interior. Snacks are offered in lobby area, and alcoholic beverages can be purchased. Bus to center, which travels an almost straight line, is just 1.50 euro. Would happily stay here again.

A very pleasant stay

The hotel was very clean and nice. It is not far from the city centre and the local transports. The tickets for the bus are sold at reception, which is very convenient. By bus it takes only 10 minutes to go to the centre. The breakfast is excellent. Lot of options. Maybe the fruit should be more and the juice less artificial. The bed was comfortable except for the pillow which was too high. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. The staff is helpful. The Internet is for free, available all the time and works very well. The hotel has a big parking space. Recommended. :)

Although the hotel lies about 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of Bologna, for the price, it is a great hotel with comfortable well-sized rooms and a short trip from the airport.

There are a number of nice bars and restaurants in the vicinity if you don't want to walk all the way into town, and the breakfast provided by the hotel had all we would want- fresh fruit, cereals, eggs, cakes, croissants and a variety of breads.

Don't stay here!!

This hotel is pretty rundown and not situated in a nice area of the city. It was a grim end to our holiday and certainly would not recommend. Breakfast area in the basement was like a sauna and the food was mediocre. Really surprises me the overall ratings given to this hotel by other visitors, they must be comparing it to youth hostels!? Bologna is a nice city, if you want a good experience then stay in another hotel than this.

Our stay at the Bologna Best Western was very nice. It is an older hotel but the place was very clean, breakfast was nice with lots of selections and the staff extremely helpful. We would recommend this to others. It is not in the city center but that is not a problem - we used the public transportation and it was easy to get the city center.

Would really recommend this hotel! The service is excellent, the interiors are well maintained and clean. Breakfast buffe is very good. They also serve dinner on weekdays, tried that once and the food was good.
The location (outside the city center) is not a problem, there are frequent buses and the bus stop is around the corner.
We would definately choose this hotel again.

Clean, covenient and functional.

This is not a five star hotel, however it is very clean, accomodating, and convenient. I chose it as it was midway between my destination and downtown, near the airport and accessible to the airport and everything else by frequent buses. A single line ran me to most places I wanted to be. I loved the restaurants nearby and having a supermarket within a block. The refrigerator was a life saver.

Breakfast was so-so, but adequate. The wifi is a bit aggravating if navigating more than one page, but was free (check your particular reservation to be sure). The walls are pretty thin, but I didn't have but one night of noisy neighbors out of 2 weeks. Pretty good for the price I got.

Lovelly Hotel,clean,friendly &the staff were only too pleased to be of assistance. It is well situated for both airport and centre of Bologna. There are excellent resturants within a short walk from the hotel,one to the left just after the supermarket and one to the right ...food and staff in both the restuarants were excellent full of local people which in itself is proof of good quality food. Great staff, very clean, easy parking

The staff is great and they are very helpful. The hotel is nice, clean and priced at a bargain price. Parking is private and easy to find. The surrounding neighborhood looks more dodgy than it really is because Bologna has a significant problem with graffiti. Call it freedom of expression for a frustrated Italian youth culture and it is on the most important landmarks of Bologna as well. This property is graffiti free, felt very safe and had an outstanding complimentary breakfast. The only challenge was in keeping our room cool enough, although it should be noted that there was a record setting heat wave occurring during our visit. We visited here with our family of six and used two rooms, which was as crowded as you would want to be in the room sizes.

This place was terrific. Just a little out of the center of town. About a twenty five minute stroll to the heart of Bologna. But this little gem of a hotel loans bicycles for free. And the wifi, although a bit slow, was also free. The breakfast was excellent. The room cleaning was excellent. I really have nothing bad to say about this place. I had an awesome time and the staff only insured that I will not ever bother searching for alternate accommodations in Bologna. They were all great. I loved this place.

Not as far as I thought

The hotel is very close to the airport. I took the Aerobus there. The first stops is near this hotel. The place is not quite near Central Bologna, but the bust that is around the corner will take you there in a matter of minutes. Just make sure to know where to get off and to get on. Otherwise if I was going through this area again I would stay here again. There is a huge market nearby for drinks and such. The staff was nice and spoke English. You could take the bus to the train station from this location, but ended getting a cab. I was connecting to another city via train on Liberation day and buses were scarcely running.
