Perfectly located within a couple of minutes walk to the train station, this hotel is a good option for your stay in Bologna. The rooms are well appointed, good wifi, dining options within the hotel and also within a few minutes walk of the hotel. The Piazza Maggiore and the alleys of the old town are within an easy stroll for shopping and tourist activities.

We only had a small issue when we asked to be allowed to stay for a late check out and the morning desk clerk was not informed, she was rude and then when we asked for a hair dryer, the one she provided was the smallest thing ever and it had a gross sticky handle, other than that the room and area are great.

The staff at the Europa Hotel was friendly and accommodating. The exterior of the hotel was not as appealing as the inside. The lobby felt grand. The interior of the hotel was clean and had the old Italian charm. The breakfast was delicious had enough options.

It was within walking distance to the City Center and the Central Station which makes it blvwry convenient.

I would stay at the Europa Hotel again if I go back to Bologna.

Rooms ere big and clean BUT hallways had a carpet with a smell (something that will make your nose itch) I think they need to replace it. They offered buffet style breakfast like all the hotels BUT this was OK good. They have parking 1/2 a block away and easy to park.

Better than most near Bologna Centrale

This was a last minute booking due to an unexpected change in travel plans. Good location near Bologna Centrale, and a 15 minute walk to the historic district. Super convenient! Room was nice and the property was in good repair. Breakfast spread was also very nice.

This hotel is a good price and conveniently located. It is quite clean and has a good breakfast. The main issue is that the wall are extremely thin, you can heat all conversations and coughing from your neighbours.

Lovely hotel, very close to the Central train station and walking distance (20 mins walk) to the historical old town. We forgot to tell the hotel we needed an early check in but they still managed to accommodate us and gave us the room straight away. Comfy bed, clean bathroom, really nice breakfast. Loud water flush from the floor above made my stay to an unpleasant one.
Usually restrooms are located one above the other. Here I guess the restroom and the shower of the room above me were just above my bed. Crazy noise.
Asked to change a room and was told it’s not possible due to fully booked hotel.
My room was in the first floor. Will never rate this room as a 4 star hotel room.
Besides that the room was very clean.

Aircon disbled and rooms too hot.

Nice hotel close to the main train station, reasonably priced with decent breakfast included. The issue is that the air conditioning is disabled in October and the rooms were stifling. I called reception who advised that Aircon is not possible in October and I should open the window, which I did but the room remained too warm and there was too much noise from outside. I did not manage to sleep. Apart from that (and hard pillows) the hotel is OK.

Decent hotel with bad advice

Suppose you’re looking for a decent hotel next to the train station this your place. It’s a simple hotel, the staff is friendly but gave me bad advice. I asked two separate people at the front desk whether I should book a taxi for 6 am flight, all reassured me that there was no need to do so, that one would be available in two minutes when called upon. That was not the case, it took 30 minutes for the taxi to arrive and then I had the staff give me lectures that I should’ve booked it in advance...

Rooms looked quite outdated in the pictures when I booked the hotel, but upon arriving I was surprised to see it wasn't that bad. Rooms were indeed outdated, and the double bed was made out of two single mattresses connected, but the shower looked relatively freshly renovated. Room was very spacious!

Still wonderful after 13 years

I stayed in this hotel in 2006 and remembered it fondly. While I usually shop around, no need, I knew I wanted to go back. It eas a great value.

I arrived early at 11:45 AM, but Don at the front desk gave me a room right away. He also recommended restaurants and a great supermarket 3 blocks away.

The room was a good size. Bed was comfy. In room safe is a us. It was very quiet. The bathroom is large, with nice anenities. There are two shower heads, with strong water pressure and perfect temperature.

The great breakfast is what I remember best and it was just as fantastic. The quality of the local ham, moryadell and cheese is a delight. The filled croissants and delicious cakes are so wonderful. They have all the usual cold items, eggs and bacon.

The hotel is close to shopping, restaurants and walking distance to the major sites. It is two blocks from the train station, so easy to do day trips to San Marino and Ravenna.

I love this hotel and would definitey return!

Good for short business trip

Great breakfast in the morning and convenient location close to train station. Rooms are a bit dated and due a refurb. Can be difficult to control temperature, thus room can get quite stuffy at night. No noise issues. Hotel did try to charge me twice (one through card prior to check in and then again at checkout) but I put it down to a (honest) mistake by checkout clerk though time was wasted trying to solve this. Overall, good for a short stay but if you’re with kids or on a longer stay, the place may get to you after a couple of days

On arrival denied 40 euro round trip transfer as on info from Expedia. Hostile and rude. Poor condition of hotel. Lack of bathroom accessories. General poor condition in hotel, carpets protruding in places and hallways not very clean.

This is a comfortable hotel located just 1 block from the central train station. It is close to buses, grocery, pharmacy, and restaurants. Hotel is designed for business conferences and gathering. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and high quality. It exceeded my expectations for the price I paid. I stayed on the 6th floor in a room for 3, and the size of the room and the bathroom are comfortable. Sound is muted with the double pane window. The hotel entrance looks 5 star, but it looks like a 3 star from 1/2 a block away. Lobby is large and grand, and the interior is very tastefully decorated. It's about a 15 min walk to the center or a 5 minute bus ride which stops close to the hotel. AC is good and the wireless is adequate.

Staff very helpful & spoke English.

Hotel is within walking distance to most of the city's attractions.

WiFi was a bit fickle but they were changing over systems while we were there.

Our triple room was very small, and there was no room to put our luggage. Beds were quite comfortable, and extra pillows were available. The shower was long and narrow, but there was good pressure and lots of hot water. Good selection of foods for breakfast, but make sure you are early if you want hot food. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and gave us some good tips for restaurants. The hotel is a short distance from the railway station, and has two reasonable sized lifts which made a nice change from many other hotels we had stayed in.

The hotel lobby is wonderful and bright, however the room that we stayed in could have been brighter and better decorated. A great stay though and I would return without hesitation.

Excellent hotel v. near railway station.

This hotel is a good base to explore Bologna which is well worth doing. A GOOD 15 minutes walk into town centre but interesting walk. We explored other places near Bologna which was v. easy to do as rail station is so near to hotel as well as bus station. At the bus station you have access to an airport bus which runs every half hour (however check times).

Weekend in Bologna

I went there to pick up my daughter from school. I did not know my way around Bologna but hotel staff were very helpful and the service was good. I walked everywhere. Breakfast was excellent. The room was small but I think that is common throughout Europe. Convenient to shopping and the train station to other major cities in Italy. Bologna is clean compared to some cities in the US. My only negative comment is, the internet connection at the hotel was limited. I enjoyed my short stay at the hotel and the city as a whole. I highly recommend travelers visit the outdoor market in the Piazza open on weekends.

Service and shoddy rooms so be careful!

Let's be clear. This hotel can be considered a 3-4* since beds are comfortable, sheets and towels are of good quality and it offers the services you expect at that level with a proper price and it is located close enough to the center that you can walk in 15 min there. However, too many details make it a no go! When I first arrived my original booking had been entered incorrectly on the system and they could not find it. Instead of being helpful, the guy at the desk looked at me as a nuisance he had to deal with and even showing him the email with the confirmation would not change his attitude. When they finally realized it was their mistake that my booking was not on their systems they gave us a room on the first floor with NO WINDOWS (well a small window that started over your head that was 20cm long!). We asked to change the room and they indulged but gave us some strange room on the 2nd floor that are like an add-on to the main building. The walls in this \"building\" are paper thin so I enjoyed all the conversations from my neighbors from both sides (and I suppose they enjoyed ours). Notice that the description of the room says: - soundproofed -toiletries -slippers - bathrobe. None of these were featured here (toiletries were a minimum gel & shampoo). Breakfast is not bad but has nothing fresh (no fruits or vegetables). The attitude of the staff and the shoddy rooms offered to us however makes it loose at least a couple of stars!

The staff was very unhelpful and my room was as far away from the elevator as you could get. The hotel has no computers available for guests, so I asked if they could print out my boarding pass. They wouldn't. I then asked where in the neighborhood I could find a café an internet was given different directions and different locations, none of which resulted in an internet café. Moreover, they were rude. I got the distinct feeling they had a different lower standard for \"hotels, com\" guests (no promised bathrobes and few toiletries. Bring your own conditioner, ladies!

we had an absolutely wonderful time and in the main this was down to the guy on the desk at this hotel. Alexandro couldn't do enough for us in helping us plan journeys each day, making restaurant bookings and leaving maps with directions in the room if we were out. Very impressive set-up, brilliant bar service, cleaning and breakfasts -- we will certainly be going back.

Hotel comfortable and very clean; staff extremely helpful and have enough English to complement my Italian. Breakfast excellent. Only draback for my wife was hardness of the mattress! Quiet, easy access to town centre, and very handy for the railway station. Will choose it again if poss. (and bring a tempura mattress!). Heartily reccommended. NB we upgraded to a luxury room.

:Great location . Good 3 star hotel, not 4 star. Breakfast terrific. Rooms clean and quite large.
Twin beds, only complaint pillows too hard.
Reception people could be more friendly, but did
what they had to do. Left the luggage in a \"closet\"
4 nights, no charge. We would happily come back
at the price.
