Breakfast was a buffet style with ample selection of different food. Hot fresh coffee and hot food options too.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Can recommend as it's well located just 250 yards from Bologna central and just a 10/15 minute walk into the city centre. Nicely located for the Feria too just 2km away so you can either walk or catch a bus directly

A beautiful hotel, kept clean, with a comfortable bed. Maintenence is an issue; the heat wouldn't turn down so I heard road noise as i had to open window; the toilet didnt function properly and i had to keep playing with the shower facet to stop the dripping

Nice hotel, great location, lovely staff.

Only negative is that there was no AC at the time of our visit (staff said due to the law). You are on a main road so there is loud road noise and when you the window open to cool down the room, was showing 30 degrees when windows was closed! (very uncomfortable)

Asked about moving rooms to the back of the hotel away from the road, but was told we would have to upgrade our room as all standard rooms are road facing, upgrade was an extra €20 a night!

Overall, a pleasant stay, close enough to walk into the city centre but far enough away to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Bologna.

Great location, maybe not the best staff

The hotel is nice and in a great location if you don't have long in Bologna and want to be close to the train station. It is an easy 15 mins walk to the center and the room was extremely comfortable. However, I had found the price cheaper online and on arrival asked if they would respect the price. They said that was an error and the price was fixed, but if you look on their website it's 40 Euros cheaper. I have had this happen before and the hotel usually offers breakfast or matches the price but here they didn't want to hear anything and were quite rude at check-in.

Modern hotel very close to the central train station with level paving throughout the route... good for wheeled luggage!

Reception staff were very friendly and check in and out was quick and efficient. The hotel has a clean, modern feel throughout. My room was spacious and, despite using 'do not disturb' so that I could get up late one morning, the room was still serviced after I had left as late as just before midday that day!

The location is safe and, aside from other guests having conversations right outside my door and slamming their doors (not the hotel's fault; people are generally very selfish these days and lack etiquette), it was very quiet.

The shower was particularly spacious although the shower door functioning did make it hard not to flood the bathroom floor!

This is a good hotel and I highly recommend it.

We stayed there for the 1st time. Staff are helpful, we had a lovely dinner and surprisingly they cater for coeliac guests which is a bonus. However the room we stayed isn’t well maintained, couldn’t use a key card for some reason. The TV is rather small & not user friendly.

Ok hotel, only had to stay for one night. Booked a double but had a room with two twins pushed together (one of which was softer than the other). On a very busy road. Cafe staff pretty rude. Receptionists good. No extras, very basic but cheap so we can’t complain too much.

Very good no frills hotel

This hotel was exactly what it said on the tin. No fuss, no frills, easy walking distance from the station. Breakfast was help yourself continental, lots of choice including fresh bread, cereals, croissants, scrambled eggs (?!) and cakes. Tip: ask for your coffee from the bar for freshly made expresso etc. Staff were very helpful. The room was basic but clean, we slept well, and we will definitely return if we revisit Bologna.

The room appears very cozy. There are many lights in the room and there is one automatic light just behind the door so that it turns on automatically when the guest comes in and out. Front desk staffs are nice and speak fair English. There are breakfast included and it is a buffet like breakfast. However the quality is just so so.

Fantastic assistance by Illarya at front desk made a short stay very easy and worthwhile including tourist advice and information not normally received including bus fares plus the need for correct change, organising management to change large notes instead of having to travel long distances to find a Banco dItalia the only bank that will change for non account holders, barbers, restaurants, bars, parties even computer problems. Stylish room, spotlessly clean, well positioned near the train station and the city gardens.

Good hotel, clean and tidy. 15 minute walk from the Piaggio Maggieore.
Staff very friendly and happy to help out.The free mini-bar consisted of water and 2 x cans of soda. Free wi-fi skipped in and out all the time.
Even taking this into account, this is a good place to stay, and i would be happy to stay here again.

hotel is about 500m from the train station. Come out of the train station and go left. cross an intersection, keep going on the left side . its hard to see as it's under a modern portico. First room we had was dreadful, you had to fold the shower doors to sit on the toilet. 2nd was much better. Staff hepful.

It's a regular hotel near a train station and a few blocks from the historic center. The cleaning was ok and the breakfast is good. We had to guess that the air conditioner was set at the front desk; the neighborhood could scare a little because of the homeless; but you get used and realize it's not dangerous to walk around.

Bad Luck or Bad Process?

There were 3 people checking when I arrived (around 11pm). I was annoyed at the thought I might have to wait 5 or 10 minutes before I could get my key. 45 minutes later, I was still waiting. When I did get a key, it did not work. I came down to be told I needed to wait for the next guest to check in - another 20 minutes! Eventually I was upgraded to a suite (which was decent) but all I needed was a clean bed as I was off at 6am the next morning. : (

Very convenient location for bus and train station. Staff friendly and room was comfortable and clean. However, dinner and lunch menu was confusing, nothing written down when we asked to see a menu. Apparently there is a set lunch and dinner but the waiter did not speak good English so we had difficuty communicating. We did had dinner which consisted of an appetizer, main dish and assorted deserts available. Breakfast was included with price of hotel, we arrived around 9 a.m. and found a buffet, eggs and sausage were cold, no one replenishing the table, breads and fruit looked as though they had put out from the previous evening. Coffee was available out of a machine. I would give low marks for the breakfast.

Rock hard beds - woke up sore.

Not that great of a stay. Bed was rock hard and the hotel needs to be kept up better. Walls were dirty, mirror was cracked, carpets stained. Every time I wanted the a/c adjusted I had to call or go downstairs to ask them to turn it on or off or adjust.

I had stayed here in the past a few years ago when it was called something different so thought I would stay here again. Unfortunately the experience was not as good. We had booked 4 rooms with twin beds and unfortunately it took us 2 hours to get through the check in process as they did not have enough staff on. They had not given us twin beds like we had booked and the rooms were extremely hot as they had not turned on the aircon for the building as they deemed it not Summer yet so sleeping at night meant you were either in a furnace as it was so hot or you had to open the windows and as most of the rooms face onto a very busy road you felt like you were sleeping on the road it was so noisy. They could easily fix some of these things and the hotel would have then got a higher rating but I won't be staying here again.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in!

Awful experience in this hotel. Initial room was at front of hotel which was on main road and extremely noisy. I complained to reception staff who agreed to 'upgrade me' to a quieter room. Many issues with room including internet not being available in room (I had to work whilst staying at the hotel so only option was to work from hotel lobby), temperature not being able to be controlled from room resulting in room being way too warm, kettle provided with no milk or coffee (staff told me it was their policy to provide teabags only!) and tv not working. Walls extremely thin and due to the floorboards in rooms, evry step made bin other rooms nearby can be heard. I had two terrible nights sleep in this hotel. Breakfast also awful - cold coffee, cold eggs and bacon. Cereal and yoghurt only decent option. Nowhere near a 4 star hotel!

Hotel is in a good location but if you get a room facing the road is a bit noisy. Interestingly, the council does not allow AC before 15th of April so when we got there the room was quite hot. If you get a room facing the internal courtyard (lovely and quiet although 20 euros more expensive) then you can open the windows and cool off without suffering too much form the street noise.

Nice hotel, central location

The hotel is modern and the rooms, although not very big, are more than sufficient for a shot stay. Clean and modern bathroom, comfortable bed and pleasant ambiance. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast bar also ok.
The location is a bonus - 5 minute walk to the main train station and 10 -15 min walk to the main square (Piazza Maggiore).
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bologna.

Beautiful Hotel a little relived from the city cor

This hotel was quite nice, with a very lovely lobby and breakfast and bar area. It was close to the train station but a little walk to the historic sights of Bologna. Wifi was available but we were never able to connect unfortunately. The hotel was nice and clean and the bed were comfortable.

a few minute walks away from central train station, also walking distance to historical center but there is not much in the neighborhood. The hotel is of new style so most things work. The carpet in the room felt wet (but slippers were provided) and the use of artificial air refresher is not ideal. Bed mattress quality is average. Breakfast selection was acceptable.

Only 5-10 mins walk into the centre of Bologna. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly right from the start. The rooms are comfortable but walls do need painting as look a little tired. Bed and linen very clean. Shower was fantastic. Breakfast a little disappointing, lots of things needed replenishing and lots of empty offerings that were not topped up. Had to ask for cups at the bar as none replenished by the coffee machine. I had a fantastic stay but a little more attention to detail would have made my experience fantastic. Felt understaffed at times. Not a luxury hotel more convenient place to rest.

Ok hotel but a bit basic

The hotel was quite nice, but a bit basic. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room, so had to buy them at the bar, I asked for a cup of hot water as I had a teabag with me and was charged a euro for this, which I thought was a bit steep. They had a selection of all you can eat buffet in the evening, but being a vegetarian we thought there might not be enough for me, so we ate out. When we returned, the hotel was hugely busy so it is obviously a popular event, There was not much for vegetarians, so we had made the right decision, but there was a lovely atmosphere so we had a nice drink in the bar. There were quite a lot of cake and pastry desserts, which we saw were served the next day at breakfast time. Wouldnt probably go here if I wanted something special, but it was nice enough and good value, so would stay if I was in Bologna again. I think not being able to have a drink in your room was the worst thing, because it was so hot. Well placed to visit the city.

Nicht zu empfehlen! Nie wieder!

Das Hotel war deutlich schlechter als in der Beschreibung und die Bilder entsprachen nur wenig oder nicht der Wirklichkeit. Die Zimmer waren auf den ersten Blick sauber aber bei genauerem Hinsehen war dicker dreckiger Staub auf allen Kanten und Fussleisten und Haare im Bad. Das Hotel liegt direkt an ein sehr viel befahrenen lauten Strasse in den Zimmern ist es extrem laut. Schlecht isolierte Fenster, nicht funktionierende Klimaanlage und Kühlschrank, fast keine internationalen TV Programme. Freundliches wenig hilfsbereites Personal, wollte mir auch auf Nachfrage kein anderes Zimmer geben. Frühstück besteht aus Brownies, Kuchen und Maschinenkaffee serviert auf klebrigen abgelutschten Plastikdecken. Eingansbereich dreckig und abgenutzt.

Very convenient for Centrale train station and a 10 minute walk to the main piazza in centre of town. The room I checked into was overlooking a busy road and noisy so I asked to be moved to the rear of the hotel. It cost an extra €20 to do this which is a bit off. Hotel is modern and clean and comfortable.

Almost All Italian hotels apparently like saving on electricty even though the patrons may get sicj due to unefficient heating systems.Mostly,room temperatures are controlled by the management and they don't leave this to the room patrons.The hotel staff especially in reception are very polite and helpful but they are also desperate on the problem

The airport bus stops at the central station which is only a few minutes walk from the hotel so whether you arrive by train or plane, it is very convenient. Fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Recommended

Very nice overnight visit

Very pleased with this hotel overall. Excellent location just 150 meters from the central railway station. Lovely quiet room. Compact but clean, nice design & very functional. The staff were very friendly with excellent English. Only area needing some attention is the breakfast which wasnt laid out well and needed somebody to ensure it was kept stocked. Otherwise a very nice stay and I would definately recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in a very good position; near the Bologna Centrale station and other attractions. However, the informal set-up of the reception lounge and eating/bar area make this very busy and quite noise. The room didn’t match de one in the picture (no surprise); the deco was a little tired and very dark.

A perfect place to be in snowfilled Bologna

We were very satisfied about the hotel, it is very clean, stylish and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the weather was not great when we were in Bologna but the hotel offers Sky Sports, which meant we didn't have to leave to find a bar to watch the 6 nations, much appreciated :) The hotel is located at the beginning of the main road into the city centre, so we didn't spend more than 10 min to find a trattoria with excellent food. The staff at reception recommended where we should go, very polite and helpful. The breakfast was very good, with a lot of selection of cakes, breads and hot food. The only minus was the machine-made coffee as one gets used to the great coffee one can get in the bar. The only other minus was perhaps that the hotel bar could not make cocktails or that the gym was too small to be considered such but otherwise we had a fantastic stay at this onderful hotel

I only wish that all the hotels on our sojourn through Italy and Istanbul had been as nice as this hotel. The 4 Viale Masini Hotel was all one wants in a hotel--comfort, clean, great breakfast, a very good restaurant in the hotel for lunch or dinner, and a 5 minute walk from the train station in Bologna. All this and at reasonable and fair rates. How wonderful!

Nice modern hotel with amazing breakfast

Very modern hotel a few steps from train station. Amazing breakfast with huge selection of fresh fruit and other items. Very nice staff, aiming to please. It was very hot in Bologna, and we asked for ice several times (not usual for Europeans?) and they fixed us a bowl from the bar. The neighborhood around the train station is not the best, but walking to our hotel did not seem unsafe, even late at night. Lovely walk to city center under the porticos.

clean tidy hotel

Typical Italian city hotel. Very clean,tidy with efficient staff. Breakfast usual odd continental fayre - not to everyone's taste!

Rooms very clean with a/c. Nice shower/bathroom. Nothing tired or worn.

Ideal position for train st which is only 150m along the same road and only 15 minute easy walk into the centre of Bologna - a beautiful historic city! Lovely places to eat/drink. The city oozes class

Very noisy entrance. No real restaurant service. Parking Garage did not exist. Had to park in piblic garage for 14 euro. Will not stay in the same hotel again. THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN BOLOGNA ARE EXTREMELY NICE AND HELPFUL.

Highly recommend

Loved this hotel! Very comfortable and clean room. Modern. Bed was comfortable, room size was fine, bathroom size was good, shower size was good. Walking distance from the train station. Although it's not in the city center, Bologna is a small enough town that everything was easy to get to by walking. The location didn't bother me, even though I expected it would. And it was great to not have to take a taxi to/from the train station...was able to walk with my luggage as it was only a few short blocks away. Favorite hotel on my 2 week French/Swiss/Italian trip.

Value for money !!

The hotel was a big positive surprise.Very close to railway station - 5 min. to go - and the standard was much higher than I had expected.Clean and comfortable room and a wonderful bayhroom with lot of space.The reception was handle by serviceminded personel and they were good in english.
Breakfast was typical Italian and the buffet was for a Scandinavian visitor little defective.

Mix reactions to this hotel.
Pros:
- Hotel is a solid 4*.
- Breakfast is solid.
- Reception Desk personnel very good.
- Awesome Bed
- Near Train Station
Negatives:
- Wireless Internet did not work in my room. I was changed to a room near the elevators where reception was good.
- Bathroom needs improvements. Some wear and tears.
- Room´s Carpet was very dirty (My wife walked with her white socks, and turned dirty inmediately).
- Several Closed Businesses nearby.

Overall a 5 out 10.

Beware of Internet Service

I chose this hotel for two reasons. It is close to the train station and offers free wireless service. From the outside, this hotel looks quite grim and the neighborhood is a bit dodgy.. Once inside, the hotel is very modern and quite nice. My room was a single, and that truly was the case. It was tiny and looked onto a concrete courtyard. The breakfast was adequate - eggs over scrambled and some suasage'ish tasting meat thing.

BUT... The internet service did not work. They gave me a login and password and while I could connect, I could not get through the login screen. I told them about it and they assured me that the service \"Devitalia\" was aware of the problem and was working to fix it. It never got fixed. As someone in the field of managing a service like this, I know that if someone had really been working on the problem, it would have been fixed in 5 minutes.

So what was the alternative to their wireless service? Nothing. In the end I burned through cell phone usage and found a hotel at my next stop. Without a means to adequately research my destination, I end up spending an additional $100 due to there lack of Internet service.

I complained about this and they simply said \"sorry\". I won't return. It is not a four star hotel by any means.
