Such a lovely hotel friendly staff and such a central location if I had to pick a fault it would be no hotel bar but because it’s such a central location it didn’t matter too much. Will definitely be returning and recommending.

Perfectly located between the train station and the tourist centre of Piazza Maggiore. Set-back in a green strip from the main thoroughfare of Via dell'Indipendenza, it feels less hectic than its surroundings, which is refreshing, especially in high season.

Room was a bit tight, but bathroom looked refreshed and clean. Breakfast was standard 3-star hotel fare, but plentiful.

Zanhotel Regina offers very good value for its location and room comfort. I would stay in this hotel or within the same area again.

Very nice Hotel. Staff were very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We were able to check in early after a 22 hour travel day. Staff gave us several options for dinner. A significant amount of restaurants available to pick from. Close to the old city center. Plenty to see and do.

Very clean, friendly people, but the most inconvenient room: no table, no chairs, no drawers to keep clothes, in a tiny shower there is no shelf for shampoo, no hook, no hand shower head. Advise: find another hotel.

This was a nice place. Was traveling with a party of 3. Had a JR suite. The bedroom had a door which was nice. AC was good. The bathroom was also decent. The pullout bed was good for a pull bed. The breakfast had plenty of options. Pretty standard for European continental breakfast. High quality food and good drink options.

I liked the location. Right next to the outdoor market.

Location is good between the station and the city center. Breakfast is nice selection. I didn't like small blue light in the bathroom. Not possible to light off. Currently the road in the front of hotel is under construction and not see buildings and restricted to cross to the opposite side.

Hotel facilities, breakfast, location and ambiance was brilliant. This hotel was a short walk from all the main attractions and main square. The reception, concierge and room staff were all friendly and welcoming. The room was modern and very clean and comfortable. The windows are openable too which I like. There’s water in the mini fridge. The shower and bathroom were wonderfully stocked with little niceties like shower caps (rainforest shower demands this!) very happy customer who will definitely be back.

Very happy with the room itself, clean, comfortable, functional. My room was on the first floor overlooking the noisy square, didn’t sleep because of noise and people under the window, when they stopped, market started opening and noise started again. Could hear every word.

Convenient location in walking distance to Bologna Centrale train station and to the main Piazza Maggiore. The “window” for the little Venice canal is nearby too. Multiple cafes, osterias, and restaurants to choose from on the next street over from the hotel. Shops line the porticos along the Via Dell’Indipendenza running in front of the hotel. Property is dated and rooms small but normal for the price range. Breakfast was included with some hot and many typical Italian sweet items. Generally liked the stay at Hotel Regent for it’s proximity to many things that I wanted to see in Bologna.

Great hotel in centre of Bologna

We were very satisfied with this hotel. It has a great location mid way between the train station and Piazza Maggiore. The rooms are large and comfortable and the air conditioning is excellent in the public areas. There is a good, varied breakfast every morning and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is no bar but it is possible for guests to use the one in the sister hotel next door. Thoroughly recommended.

Overall good. Ordinary rooms are very small and the bathroom door slides and doesn’t fully seal, which may not be ideal for some people sharing a room. They also no longer give guests tissues, which is a bit odd.

Well I guess you get what you pay for. Where do I start? First, the air conditioner barely worked. We were up half the night because it was so hot. 2nd, the hot water was out the whole 1st day. But I guess we needed an ice cold shower after sweating all night. They said it was repaired on the 2nd day but it went from freezing to just cold. There is also a smoke detector that blinks all night long on the bedroom ceiling, so bring an eye patch. All in all not a great experience.

The friendly staff had our room ready early and allowed us to check in hours before scheduled. We expected to leave our bags and wander around the city jet-lagged, but we’re happy to have a shower and rest before roaming around. The room was comfortable, though a little warm and airless. Breakfast was really nice, and check out was easy. Would highly recommend!

I stayed two nights: the heating stopped working in the second night and it was very cold. They don't have extra blankets in the room and the blanket they provide is very light. Their beds are incredibly close to the window, that means that the cold air hits you when you lay down. Plus, It is very noisy from the market.
They have very bad internal communications, and they don't seem to update the records of those who prolong their staying (I did not want to check out at 11 after a very late night in the city). They informed me that I would not be double billed as they were making me a favour. What a terrible customer service move!

This is such a nice hotel! It was extremely clean, the room was very nice and modern, and the free breakfast was lovely and exceeded expectations. The staff was also helpful and kind. I highly recommend this place, especially during a pandemic as it was clean and we felt very safe.

Hotel easily found. All staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a good selection and continually monitored to keep plenty to choose from. Coffee best I’ve had in a hotel.
The room, albeit small, was quiet. No view. The bathroom was very clean and nice to look at with large shower area. I struggle with fixed shower heads however when washing long thick curly hair. The shower area would benefit from shelves to put soap on etc (can’t use hotel soap) and other items but this is ok for a few days there as we placed the seat just outside the shower to put out items on.

Great location - walking distance to everything

The rooms are nice; modern and compact but functional. Location is great, within walking distance to train station and centre of town. I would have given this stay a fantastic review if it wasn't for the fact that they started loudly moving furniture and vacuuming before 8am and then got mad when I complained. But hopefully that is not the norm, and so I would still recommend staying here.

I stayed at this hotel in October 2019. We had a corner room. At the time, there was a large and very noisy flea market outside. Thank goodness for ear plugs or we would not have gotten any sleep. Everything else about this hotel was fine but I cannot recommend it because of the flea market. I would not stay there again.

Excellent and economical hotel in the center of Bologna! Comfortable, stylish, well-decorated room. Excellent Breakfast! Excellent Service! My wife had left a cosmetic bag in the room when we checked out. I called and asked them to hold it for us for 2 weeks when we could drive back through Bologna to pick it up. Upon arrival, over 2 weeks later, they had the bag and everything was as she had left it. Thank you very much!

We only stayed in Bologna for one night, but this was a great place to stay. The room (as per usual in Europe) was a little small - you wouldn't want a week in a room this size. But the location was great, the bathroom amenities were nice, and the complimentary breakfast was excellent.

The hotel was perfect for a weekend break. Rooms were clean and completely sound proof, which can be an issue for light sleepers.

The Zanhotel Regina is in an ideal location for a short stay in Bologna as it is on one of the main shopping streets and close to the centre. The hotel is 10 mins walk from the station (where the airport bus stops - only €6 and 20-30 mins from the airport) and 10 mins walk to Piazza Maggiore and access to all the main sights of Bologna.

Our room was small with only a small open ‘wardrobe’, but it was spotlessly clean and had a room safe and a small minibar that we used to keep our water cold! Temperatures outside were well into the 30s and we were grateful for the excellent and relatively quiet air con. The bathroom was also compact, but with an efficient walk-in shower and also nice and clean. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking a large piazza to the left of the hotel and despite having a market there every day and basketball practice in the evenings, our room was remarkably quiet.

Breakfast was typical continental, but with plenty of choice and there were always two hot dishes (bacon and scrambled eggs) that were an unexpected bonus, as well as good coffee as you can expect anywhere in Italy.

The staff were friendly and welcoming and there is a small bar for your evening nightcap. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the size of the room, but we would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to return to this amazing city.

Hotel muito bem localizado. Café da manhã razoável. Ambiente pequeno para a quantidade de hóspedes, e os Funcionários do café da manhã demoravam para repor os alimentos. A máquina de café estava quebrada, e era uma fila para pegar o café ou cappuccino. Disponibilizam água de cortesia no frigobar. Acomodações do quarto simples, mas confortável.

Hotel bem localizado, entre a estação de trem e o centro histórico, da para fazer tudo a pé! O quarto parecia ter sido reformado recentemente. O tamanho do quarto era otimo, tinha até uma pequena sacada, assim como o do banheiro. Apesar de ter carpete no quarto, estava bem limpo. Roupas de cama novas. O pessoal da recepção nos atendeu muito bem. O café da manhã estava ótimo, apenas o espaço era um pouco pequeno, mas nada que atrapalhasse.
