Brand new hotel with excellent staff

Literally just opened the day before so a couple of small issues which were dealt with promptly but will definitely be ironed out soon. Staff were excellent, very attentive and friendly. Great hostel/hotel with a good vibe. I’m sure it will only get better with time. Highly recommend a stay here for all ages.

Great location!

We had a great stay at this hotel.
The staff were so friendly and very helpful especially Andrea Arru.
We did arrive when the hotel was under renovations which really did not affect our rooms and they were speedy quick doing the renovations elsewhere.
The restaurant was not open while we were there, which would of been nice.
The location of the hotel was perfect for walking.
Definitely recommend

When I arrived I was told that I would be staying at another hotel due to hotel construction. The hotel staff said they sent me a message which I showed them I never received. I was escorted to a hotel that was $10 less than what I had paid for my original hotel. The hotel staff at the Holiday Hotel is rude, the toilet is broken, and the electronics keep making loud noises.

Hotel is old and need renovations in some area. Staircase has funny noise when walking on it. Did not expect hotel to be that worn down. I had booked 2 rooms, the more expensive room I booked is not much better than the cheaper one, only extra snacks on the table. Despite all these unfavorable conditions. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

This hotel was NOT good… we checked in and went to shower only to find out the shower doesn’t drain at all, you can shower for 1 minute max and then it takes 5-7 minutes to drain. Notified the hotel immediately and nothing was fixed in the 3 days we were there. The room had a balcony but the metal rolling cover over it was broken so we couldn’t use it or get any airflow in the room. They were also doing renovations on the floor above ours (which we weren’t notified about in advance) so we paid full price for a room where there was EXTREMELY loud construction from 8 am until 6 pm every day we were there. Nothing about this hotel was relaxing or comforting… we were miserable while we were there. If the room had been refundable we would have moved to another hotel.

I do not agree with the complains of other guests. My superior room 514 was spacious, clean and had a stunning view over the Old Town. I had an electric kettle to make tea and coffee. Nothing was broken. The room was really quiet. The staff will surpass your expectations. The hotel is expensive but very well located so I was happy with my choice.

Good for the night on a budget

The hotel is in a great location of Bologna. Hotel staff is very nice and available 24/7. Shower heat and water pressure was good. Bed and pillows a bit hard but manageable. Unfortunately, there was a lot of noise from the room above and from the neighborhood in the early hours of the morning 4-5am. If you are a very light sleeper you may need to avoid. Otherwise, this is an economical convenient choice if you’re on a budget.

Great location both near station and into centre. Nice area with lots of restaurants, cafes, shops and supermarkets nearby. Both Andrea and Roberto at reception were very helpful, friendly and the best part of the hotel. The rest not so good. I asked twice for a double bed and I received two beds joined together with a gap between. The shower was so small I could barely get inside and could not move once inside. Gets the award for the smallest shower I have ever seen. If you are a big person it will not work for you. Hotel was very clean and the room was spotless. I think hotel would be great if it had a good renovation

I don't take pleasure in writing a poor review of this hotel because the staff seemed to do their best and it's their livelihood to work there but it was a big mistake booking this place and I did so based on the number of 10/10 ratings which must be fake reviews or written by travelers with low expectations.
We realized within minutes of checking in that there were issues: a tiny room, a rock hard bed, a small and cheap shower enclosure, and no closet.
I quickly returned to the front desk and asked if we could check out due to it not being to our expectations. The pleasant gentleman informed me that it was too late to reverse the charge since we had checked in already but we could check out the next day instead of staying for two nights so I accepted that and we soon went out sightseeing and for dinner.
Overnight we found the room to have thin walls. We could hear a baby crying intermittently from somewhere down the hallway and at one point someone must have been having an issue getting their door to latch because they slammed it shut about five times in a row.
On the positive side the room was clean and the hotel is in a decent location.
The next night we checked into the nearby I Portici hotel which was only about $100 more per night but a massive upgrade in terms of quality, style, condition, vibe, etc. and it was well situated on the main street so no need to walk down quiet side streets late at night.

The hotel is conveniently located near shops, restaurants and transportation we walked the narrow streets to many wonderful restaurants.
Negative it is advertised that they serve breakfast as included. Not so!!!
We were rudely told upon arrival that they no longer offer that service. A view of their website boast the availability of breakfast including gluten free.
The hotel is basic, clean the location made our stay amazing.

Comfortable beds- room is basic- when sightseeing you don’t spend much time in your room.
Front desk was extremely helpful and courteous. Spoke English, gave recommendations for dining and grocery shopping. Provide maps and areas of interest.
Would recommend for those who don’t expect special amenities. Perfect for the traveler. Gabriele was the front desk clerk during our stay and he was fantastic!

Needed a place for the evening. Stayed in the triple room (3 of us). Had a reasonable sized bathroom and confortable single beds. Tidy and quiet - just what we needed after 20+hrs flying... helpful staff at check in. Check out was easy and the staff member at front desk, disnt getvhis name but he was very hospitable and helpful, let us store our bags for a couple hours and gave info on local sites to walk to.
Hotel is dated, but was not an issue for us.

Quaint boutique hotel. Rooms are on the small side, but more than worth the value. Staff is friendly. Hotel and rooms are nice and in good condition, albeit a little hot (AC was a bit weak). Minimal amenities, but location is very close to the train station and walking distance to old town. Neighbourhood is okay, not much to say about it, but it’s perfect proximity to everything. Overall happy with the stay, as long as you’re okay with a small, cozy room with average AC.

The hotel has no service. Room has nothing for customers. No cups, no coffee. Reception did not mention the mini bar. Nobluts of the mini bar . Reception asked whether we use the mini bar when we check out. If someone is not familiar with this, customer may be charged without knowing the price. All in all, we do not recommend anyone stay with this hotel

OK hotel in good location

Room was a good size and the bathroom was large, but this may have because it was equipped for a wheelchair guest. Decor rather tired. Needs investment.
No food at this hotel and no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Immediate area location of the hotel is downmarket, but the train station is only 10-15 minutes walk and it is only a similar time to walk to the sights in the historic centre. 5 minutes from the main shopping street and lots of restaurants. A good location for a tourist hotel.

All you need

Spent a night and had a good experience. Situated 10 mins walk from the central station and 15 minutes walk from the piazza maggiore.
Lack of hot drink complimentaries though.
The room was modern, clean and had everything we needed. Good price and friendly staff so recommend this place.

The room was cold so sleeping was uncomfortable. Even though they said they had WIFI it did not work or was very spotty. They gave slippers and bathroom amenities, nice cookies and coffee maker. The tv was very small and difficult to see from the bed. Elevator could only handle 1 person and 1 large luggage. Location was quiet and not to far from the train station.

This hotel is very convenient for shopping, transport, tourist sites and restaurants all within a short walk. Helpful staff spoke good english. Comfortable beds, nice ensuite bathroom. Only downside was no dining room since Covid, but an excellent coffee shop about a hundred meters away.

We stayed 4 nights in Sep 2019. The entire stay, the air conditioning did not work, was under maintenance. The first 2 nights we couldn't sleep in the 80+ degree stuffy room. The 2nd major downside was there are absolutely no free electrical outlet in the room. One has to UNPLUG the TV or lamp, which made it dark. These days it is a must to provide suitable outlets in room to charge camera batteries, laptop etc. The included breakfast from 7-10 was hard to get a table after 8am. The 1 lady cleaning the tables did a good job but was stressed out and overburden with duties. This is the fault of hotel management for that. The staff seems short handed with all the work.
Otherwise the location was 15-20 minute walk to town center. Hotel has 1 elevator, that maintenance uses also, so prepare to account for that.

We spent 10 nights in this hotel. It has perfect location, very close to Central Train station and Piazza Maggiore, all walking distance. Safe neighborhood. It is clean. Has free wifi which worked in the room all the time. The staff is very friendly and helpful: They even upgraded us since we stayed long. Good breakfast. Overall we were very happy to stay there and would definitely stay there again. My only suggestion is they should install hangers for towels in the bathrooms.

You should reserve parking in advance because local garages are very expensive and street parking can be hard to find. The hotel was not able to make parking arrangements for us upon arrival. Our room was worn and the shower had an unpleasant odor. Hotel has it's plus and minuses, overall though, not a bad place for a 2-night stay.

Enjoyable stay at this hotel. Excellent location, close to all amenities but in a quiet area. We had a superior double which had plenty of space and a very comfortable bed. Bathroom had a bath and separate shower. The room was air conditioned which was very welcome in the heat but it leaked and the dripping through the night was a little disturbing. Took a day to get repaired as it was a sunday when we reported it. The 30 degree heat may have also been the cause of a stale smell in the bathroom when we first got the room. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Overall we were happy with our stay and would return.
