The hotel is well-placed opposite the station and within easy walking distance of the centre of Bologna. It has lovely gardens to the rear. Reception and bar staff very professional and helpful.
The room was clean and newly refurbished. Pillows much too soft, options needed. Floor of shower feels slippery.
Breakfast disappointing. Empty yoghurt fridge and orange juice not re-filled when depleted. Bread had run out and not replaced. Crockery not replaced during busy service.

Loved this hotel!! Conveniently located across the street from the train station. We had a street facing room and with the windows closed, we couldn’t hear a thing from outside!! Modern decor, nice room and helpful staff. Good strong wifi!!

The location of the hotel is perfect! Opposite the train station so easy to travel & also easy to get to and from the airport. Also just a short 15/20 minute walk into the centre of Bologna.

The staff on reception were polite, professional and helpful. But the bar staff were exceptional! Great customer service, every drink was served with a little snack which was a fab touch!

The room however was extremely basic and could do with a little TLC. It was enough for us for a few short days stay but the bed wasn’t particularly comfortable and the pillows were quite lumpy. The bathroom could do with a bit of a refurb.

The hallways / lift areas could also do with a new carpet and it is quite annoying having to use an ironing room. I know this could be a local law or policy but even if there was an alternative like a steamer in the rooms then that would be better!

Breakfast was ok, we paid for the breakfast for every morning when we booked but honestly we only used it twice. The food was lovely and coffee machines were very convenient! There was also a fresh juicing machine which was a nice addition to have!

We had a nice stay overall but spent most of the time out exploring. The hotel did the job but overall would rate maybe a 3 star due to the rooms and breakfast being pretty basic! Staff and location were great though!

An ideal location with places to eat steps outside the front door! We chose this hotel for its proximity to the train station (a 1-minute walk across the street)- Bologna is such a great central hub to get everywhere in Italy via train, so it was an easy choice to choose this hotel for its location alone. The minute we walked in we were thrilled this was our choice. The hotel is beautiful inside, clean, wonderful decor, and friendly and helpful staff. They have their own garden/backyard type setting - you can grab a drink at their bar or just go sit outside. It's really relaxing. The rooms are generous for European hotels rooms and are fully stocked with coffee, water, and so clean. The beds are comfortable as well. Outside your hotel there's pizza, mortadella, gelato, (street foods), as well as \"The Food Gallery\" where you can order these foods in a sit-down setting, as well as beer, wines, and pastas. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and I will choose to stay here when in Bologna again.

Clean compact room. Fridge free water. Safe in room belongings. Opposite train station. Mind ur bags jewellery around here. Fine when you get into town about 10 min walk.Breakfast was good . Fresh meats cheese pastries eggs etc. Good coffee. Staff at breakfast were miserable as well as bar staff. Reception staff arrival very friendly but different member Monday morning who needs to learn to smile. Lovely garden onto hotel back that you can sit out relax. It’s so near to Florence day trip would suffice as not much to see and food prices same as Florence.

Wonderful stay at Bologna Mercure. Location is very convenient, across the street from the train station for easy access and to drop off bags before heading to main sights in Piazza Maggiore, which is a 20 minute walk away. Room and bathroom are very spacious, and room amenities like slippers, bathrobe, free water and fridge refreshments, including a prosecco, tea/coffee maker are welcome touches. Breakfast is ok, best part of it for me was the juicer, to make fresh fruit/veggie drinks. It was a comfortable stay in a good location.

Over all a good stay, location over the street from Central Station was ideal for day trip to Florence, and only 7 minutes by monorail to airport. Nice staff. Very clean. Would stay again if better room at a cheaper rate.

I was disappointed in the room, I booked a more expensive balcony room. Room was on the top floor, in the roof and the \"balcony\" was a space in the mansard, surrounded by a concrete barrier, no view. This part of the hotel is adjacent to a public food court & thoroughfare that was noisy when the 'balcony' doors were open.

The hotel has it's own lovely green courtyard, so when booking I presumed I'd be overlooking this area. I would've asked to be moved but overheard that the hotel was fully booked, as was apparent the next morning with dozens of coach trip seniors at breakfast.

I received no reply to the \"How was your check-in\" email hence this public review.

The hotel is clean, staff are super friendly, and everything is modern and updated. The courtyard outside is lovely and its right across from the train station. There's also a good spot to grab food right outside. Its a bit of a walk to city center but overall a nice hotel.

Right next to the Bologna train and bus stops in front of the hotel. The staff was very helpful and recommended us to some of the best restaurants nearby. The room is big enough and clean. Walking to the old town center is about 20 mins. It is a great place to stay in Bologna if one uses train.

The room had no comfortable seating, no drawers, and the bathroom was terrible. Our housekeeper also didn’t refresh our coffee station, we were there for 3 nights, so the last morning, no coffee. We paid 265 euro without the buffet breakfast included. Asked how much one has to pay to include Breakfast, no answer.

When we arrived at the properly we were a bit worried if the area would be safe as a single woman travelling with a child as there were a few people lingering outside. When entering the properly I was greeted warmly by very professional and friendly staff. The decor was absolutely beautiful and the breakfast was superb. The room was clean and so comfortable. The area was very close to great attractions in la Rambla. We didn’t have any problems with the hotel or surrounding area and felt safe walking to and from the hotel.

Loved the convenience of this hotel because we were only there for a couple of days. It's literally across the street from the train station, making it so easy to get into town. It's easy to walk into town from there as well. Lots of handy bars, shops, cafe's, etc right within a stones throw. The ONLY complaint was that it was a bit loud at night but our room faced the train station so maybe if you have a different room it wouldn't be an issue.

Amazing Service at Mercure Bologna!

We had a fantastic stay at Mercure Bologna. The hotel staff were all incredibly helpful, but a special shoutout goes to Giulia, who went above and beyond to make my girlfriend’s birthday special. She spent her Sunday helping me contact local patisseries to order a cake, even going as far as calling multiple stores and translating all the different flavors for me. She organized everything to perfection, making sure the cake was delivered to our room with a lit candle after we returned from dinner. Mercure Bologna, I hope you see this review and recognize the outstanding service Giulia provided!

The rooms were clean, spacious, and the bathroom was modern and chic. We also appreciated the water dispensers on every few floors, providing clean, tasteless water. The hotel’s location is perfect—right across from Bologna Centrale station. Highly recommended!

We were disappointed that smoking is still permitted throughout the entire courtyard space, which was lovely but the widespread smoking prevented us from using. Air con in room was insufficient and humid.

The room was excellent. Very clean, everything worked properly. Strong air conditioner. Super comfortable bed. Great location as it’s right across from Bologna Centrale and close walking distance from the historic district.

Best of all was Pasquale. We arrived extremely late (maybe 1:30 in the morning) and he received us with a smile, great information, and concern for our needs. Just a wonderful person.

And the quiet garden area is sublime for morning coffee.

Very disappointing

Sort of a rundown that might be getting a facelift but it in our room. On the good side it is near the train station and the breakfast was expensive but very good. The internet was average and bed was large and fairly comfortable. On the negative side the bathroom is like from the 50s on Rte 66 could not even get into the shower. Tv did have a few English options but mostly just news, you can not control the a/c it was a tad warmer than I prefer. For the price is was not worth the money but does avoid a couple taxis if you have an overnight connection.
