Overall rather poor. The state of the facilities is quite dated, I'd estimate no major refurbishment for 30+ years. Breakfast with limited options. Very noisy alarm went off overnight at 1.15am. It kept going for a good couple of minutes, likely because the reception closed at 9pm and nobody was manning the system.
If by 5am you had been lucky enough to be sleeping again (I wasn't), then the fridges in mine and other rooms would make noises similar to airplanes taking over. I had to unplug the one in my room, however many rooms must have been empty because I could hear them, every single of them.
In a word, a disaster from start to bottom.
I won't mention the 3 figures digit I had to part ways with to sleep in here but there you have it.

This hotel was just what we were looking for to take a catamaran trip. Located in a quiet neighbourhood, uphill from the port, which has wonderful restaurants and a superb coffee shop with amazing pastries. We parked onsite and left the car parked for 2 nights never moving it until leaving. The room was 119, spacious with full sea view. Check in & out was so smooth and very clean. We appreciated the exceptional detail and care the older gentleman took in the breakfast area.

This hotel was an absolute lifesaver! I arrived last minute, late at night, and the receptionist kindly stayed late just to welcome me and check us in. The location is fantastic—less than a 5-minute walk to the port of Palau. Many of the rooms offer beautiful water views, which was such a nice surprise.

It’s a no-frills hotel, but it’s incredibly clean, has air conditioning throughout, and includes breakfast. What really sets it apart is the warm and welcoming staff—they go above and beyond. For the price, this place is a gem!

Hotel Piccada was lovely! Our check-in went smoothly and the staff was welcoming. Our room was well organized to fit three people and the location was excellent. There were restaurants and little street shops everywhere. There was also a supermarket nearby. We would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through Palau looking for a quieter area to stay.

The reception not well sign posted . The bedroom was very dated. The breakfast was very basic and the fresh fruit was kept behind the counter.There were bananas on display 2 mins later they disappeared considering 4 of us were the only people in the room they said all finished.

A fantastic location and a lovely team of staff. They were incredibly attentive at the breakfast buffet and were immediately replenishing anything which started to run low. The only downside is you can hear noise from the corridors and fellow guests seemed to be slamming doors in the mornings.

We had a fabulous week here. The hotel is a bit dated but the friendliness of the staff and owner more than makeup for that. Breakfast was good and it’s a great location only a short walk from port restaurants and beach. Would happily stay here again. We were here without a car and for a week there was plenty to see and do as well as a little relaxation. Thoroughly recommend

Big and comfortable room, big bathroom, wardrobe,, big mirror, fridge, AC. Only the hairdryer was not good but they lent me a good one. Breakfast very good (fruits, eggs, yogurt, breads, croissants, cakes, cereal, etc). The hotel is very near to restaurants and ferry boat. You can go walking 5 min or so. Also is a good alternative to go to La Madalena spend a day. Also It’s 30-40 min by car to Olbia. Many boat tours towards La Madalena start in Palau. So could be a good choice stay in Palau and get the ferry or tour to Madalena. Thomazzo and Ciara who work at the reception are very kind. I had a good time and highly recommend.

We loved our stay at Hotel Piccada. It is conveniently located near the port (5 min walk),with plenty of options to dine out. The staff is amazing and provided us with awesome recommendations. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast offers lots of choices, even gluten free items. Parking in the area was a bit of a challenge, but the hotel staff was prompt to suggest options. We always managed to find some parking nearby or on the hotel property. Overall our stay was very pleasant.

We sttayed in a balcony room, which was very spacious with good air conditioning and a refrigerator. The front desk service was great. The room had lots of space and shelving for luggage and included a drying rack for towels and bathing suit and a couch and table and chairs. We liked the location and Pula.

The hotel is badly in need of updating

We stayed for 10 nights in mid September. The hotel was still fairly busy.
Our first impression of the hotel was that the publicity photos had been taken a long time ago.
The room was basic. We had paid for a seaview which we got.
Unfortunately there was a very strong and unpleasant smell of drains emanating from the bathroom. The cleaner regularly combatted this with bleach but the smell returned by the evening.
The overall standard of cleanliness in the room was acceptable and towels and sheets were changed regularly.
We tried to buy a drink at the bar one evening but without success as the male receptionist would not serve us. We are unsure why as the female receptionist the night before was happy to do so.
The breakfast was adequate with a reasonable choice of food available.
Overall we were left with a feeling of disappointment and felt that the hotel was not up to the standard we had hoped for.

Nice hotel near centre of Palau

We stayed here for nine nights during a period of extreme heat. The air conditioning was excellent and kept the room at a very comfortable temperature. The hotel is three minutes walk away from the centre of Palau and so was lovely and quiet at night.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and appreciated our attempts at speaking Italian.
There are a couple of small beaches around Palau -one is a blue flag beach.
We were fortunate enough to have friends with a boat who took us to many of the archipelago'sbeaches. La Madalena is a short ferry ride away and buses will get you to Olbia airport and St Theresa.

Great staff, solid location, balcony imperative!

Overall a very nice stay.

Location is excellent, short walk to town and the port.
View is amazing from the sea view rooms, I would ensure you get a balcony because the sea view without terrace is somewhat claustrophobic. (We booked only a view, but the hotel staff was helpful in changing to a terraceand the up-charge was minimal.)
The fridge is quite weak and doesn't cool things quickly, and there's no freezer. However the staff graciously allowed us to freeze our ice cube trays in their restaurant freezer every day. It was excellent service above and beyond.
The staff was all very very friendly and kind to us.
Breakfast was good with enough options to do something different each day and the espresso machines made very good coffees.
Wifi was strong and reliable in-room and throughout the hotel.

We stayed here for a week here in August whilst visiting friends who have a holiday home in PalauThe room was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The hotel is three star and so is very comfortable and pleasing. Our room was a good size and very quiet. There was a fridge in the room and a fairly wide range of things to eat for breakfast. The room was spotless although the furniture was a bit dated. the shower was powerful, though.

At all times the staff were very friendly and were keen to ensure that we had a good stay. The Wi-fi was provided free of charge, not as an extra cost as was advertised. The room was very adequate, and although parking was not easy a space was always found, even when it meant blocking other vehicles in and leaving the keys so that reception staff could move the car. The harbour and the town were only five minutes walk from the hotel, as were numerous bars and restaurants. Would definitely use this hotel on future visits.

a grate hotel and a place for holidays for 2-3days

Very good location. Very close to the port and ferry to la Maddalena. We got the room with very awsome view. whean u rent a cr go to the Costa Paradiso (around 30-45min west)
Then ask about how to get to the beaoet to the west). we have visit a lot but tke Costa Paradiso beach was awsome!!! la Maddalena has very nice the old city (very small). The rest of the island is very dissapoiting..many privet places without access.
be aware hwen you try to buy ferry ticket, they wiil try to rip you off...

This is an old, quaint hotel. It really is lovely for getting more of a taste of the island and a wonderful location for getting anywhere. We walked all over the port area and grabbed a ferrt to La Madalena, where my husband had been stationed years ago. We had just a beautiful view of the Mediterranean and a much too short visit.

The hotel was fine, although a think a little over priced. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was ok and was clean and acceptable. The breakfast was poor. Cheap meets and cheece. With all the great food in sardinia they could do better.

Sehr freundliche, familiäre Unterkunft. Wir hatten einen tollen Ausblick von unserer Terrasse und die Einrichtung des Zimmers hat mir sehr gut gefallen, alles sehr cool und authentisch. Das ganze Haus ist in einen Hang hineingebaut und der Weg zum Frühstück/ Rezeption sehr verwinkelt. Das fanden wir als Familie sehr aufregend. Wir waren in der Vorsaison hier und am Abend gab es wenig offene Lokale im Ort, aber die Empfehlung der Rezeptionistin hat gut gepasst. Man sollte keinesfalls die Fahrt zu den Madalenas Inseln verpassen.

All good , but finding a free parking place may be challenging. The hotel position is very strategic for reaching the docks for the excursion boats and the town center. Note: pizzeria Re Ferdinando is run by Neapolitans and offers the pizza made as in Napoli. Great surprise!

Bien mais pourrait etre mieux. On etait à l etage et meme s il y a un ascenseur qui ne monte que jusqu au 2eme ensuite ce sont des escaliers, pas facile quand on a des bagages, il devrait y avoir un accès pensé pour cela. Le petit dejeuner est bien mais toujours identique, pas de changement. L hotel ne fait pas de diner le soir. Nous avions un balcon tres agréable avoir un etendoir à linge. Le menage est parfait, c est tres propre Mais l hotel est à moderniser,. Le personnel est tres gentil.

Wir wurden sehr, sehr herzlich empfangen und gleich ausgiebig über das Hotel, die Parkmöglichkeiten, besonders sehenswerte Orte und den Ort informiert. Es gab auch direkt ein paar Empfehlungen,.was man alles gesehen haben muss 😊👍.
Ein früherer CheckIn war (dadurch, dass das Zimmer bereits fertig war) kein Problem.
Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit einem großen Balkon und einer Hammer-Aussicht auf Palau, das Meer, den Bären und das Maddalena-Archipel - ein Traum.
Das Hotel ist zentral gelegen - die Stadt innerhalb ein paar Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar (quasi nur über die Straße).
Das Hotel ist zwar schon ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, aber dennoch sauber.
Das Frühstücksbuffet hatte eigentlich alles, was man benötigt (halt typisch italienisch).
Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden - in unserer Zimmerkategorie gab es sogar einen eigenen Stellplatz.

Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert

Os atendentes são simpáticos. O hotel é central mas fica em uma colina de dificil acesso com muitas escadas. O quarto é simples mas espaçoso. Café da manhã sem variedade com pouquissimas opções. we have a room with balcony and sea view. It was clean, big (for 2 person), balcony is safe against rain (unfortunately one day was rainy) and really nice view we had La Maddalena and the harbour.
Breakfast was good and enough.

Sauber & gute Lage aber etwas veraltet

Das Personal war freundlich. Die Lage und Aussicht waren top. Leider war die Einrichtung schon etwas veraltet und das Bad zwar sauber aber eher sanierungsbedürftig.

Bon accueil, mais hôtel vieillot.

Nous avons été un peu déçu part la vétusté de l'hôtel et le manque de personnalité : Un \"vieil\" établissement ne doit pas empêcher de mettre un peu de décoration.
En revanche, nous avons été bien accueilli, et il nous a été spontanément proposé de garer notre moto dans un endroit protégé.

Da tornare o mandarvi amici!

Struttura carina, molto comoda poiché a 2 passi dal centro e dagli imbarchi per la Maddalena. Vicino molti ristoranti di vari prezzi e tipo. Parcheggio sempre trovato gratis, colazione abbondante e fornita. Acqua calda per doccia sempre presente, aria condizionata efficace. Personale alla reception squisito, dispone presente e umano, dote ormai rara.

La chambre, lits, salle de bains etaient propres.
Le petit-déjeuner, sous forme de buffet, était correct avec du choix.
Bémol pour le parking, pas assez important pour le nombre de clients.

L’hôtel Piccada est charmant, à deux pas du centre-ville de Palau. Le personnel est extrêmement serviable et sympathique. Le petit déjeuner inclus était très bon!

Hyggeligt mindre autentisk hotel, som ligger helt perfekt i kort afstand til havnen og gågaden. Værelset var rummeligt - vi var tre voksne og 1 barn i samme værelse - pænt og rent. Ville helt sikkert booke det igen.
