They advertise A/C however it was turned off for the remainder of the cold season even though it was in the high 80’s and the room had no ventilation.
They seemed to be able to turn on the ventilation in one room that had a plumbing leak and when moved to other room it could not be turned on.
This is like saying “ we stop selling umbrellas at the end of September” then you have storms with days of rain but no umbrellas!! We were miserable!

Hotel de La Ville is a useful place to stay when visiting Vicenza with a car. The rooms are everything you would expect and the breakfast buffet was good, including a good selection of fruit. It took us 15 minutes to walk to the city gate of Vicenza.

Breakfast was lovely, however the room was in need of some tlc! Bathroom door got stuck when opened, cracks in paintwork, noisy air-conditioning, sink was slow to empty. The twin beds were uncomfortable.
The staff were all friendly and welcoming.

Cheap clean hotel near station

A cheap option within walking distance of Verona train station. It’s an old but functional hotel and our room was clean. The area outside isn’t very nice for walking (a few homeless people hanging around) but the hotel has a car park so driving is an option. Also if you are coming from a big city you’ll be used to this - it’s just not the image I had in my head of Verona (opera & posh restaurants serving truffles and good wine was more my expectation)

This hotel is conveniently located across the street from a bus stop. The bus will take you to the city center, the mall, the train station, bus station or the nearby US military base. It also walkable to downtown if you feel like it. There are some restaurants within walking distance it the hotel has nice one. The breakfast buffet is very nice. The rooms are of a decent size and the staff is kind and helpful.

A four-star dreaming of being a two-star.

I am sure that, maybe in its heyday, Hotel de la Ville was a prime business.

Clearly, those days are long gone.

The rooms, the corridors, the building in general is clearly dating, but management resorts to one of the oldest tricks in the trade: keep a decent lobby, just to save face.

Quite large (50, 80 even 160 people) one-night groups from countries not known for their high sanitation standards travelling on low-low-cost tours along with very, very blue-collar guests, some of them carrying huge dogs, seem to be its market niche. Imagine.

In all fairness, Hotel de la Ville delivers the quality corresponding exactly to the price it charges, thus meaning: cheap is cheap and a four-stars, in reality, is a two-stars.

I should not complain either about a €3 breakfast even if it includes staled cornetti, runny scrambled eggs, expired milk, badly kept yoghurt, awful coffee and ¾ foam, rather cold capuccinos or a $80 room with bad housekeeping.

To add insult to injury, Hotel de la Ville is located in a tough neighborhood where strange, suspicious characters from a shelter next door continuously hover around the property, especially at night.

Fine for a Day Trip.

The hotel is about 3/4 mile from the center of Vicenza and easy to get to. The underground parking is a bonus, even if some of the spots can be quite tight getting in and out of.
The rooms are fine, just pretty dated. Definitely in need of some paint. The A/C and Internet were definite pluses, as both worked fine. The room size was pretty large, the breakfast looked good too.
The biggest negative was that the locati on didn’t feel as it was the safest, through no fault of the hotel. If you are traveling for business for a day, it’s fine. Longer than that, I would probably be more comfortable staying somewhere else.

The shower needed some updating. The shower drain cover was not attached correctly and it slid off causing someone to slip. The doorknob was different from all of the other doorknobs in the hallway. It didn’t fit correctly. As a result, without being extremely careful closing, fingers got caught. The knob was on room 205. The walls were very thin and the wood floors were very noisy, so you heard everything in the room next door.

Place on which we will return in Vicenza

Hotel is on a nice location for exploring Vicenza. Only 15 minutes by foot from old city. Superior room is big with a standard bathroom, but some investment in modern furniture will improve a lot the general aspect. Garage for parking is excellent. In conclusion, in spite of some space for improvement I will come back to this hotel if I am coming to Vicenza. The city is beautiful and worth to visit, Palladio and etc.

Reception staff very helpful in giving recommendations, directions, & in saving an item of property I had left behind. All spoke good English. Breakfasts excellent choice - very strong on catering for special diets. Hotel is large & when I was there had a conference, & a party of students. Excellent view from 7th floor, but soundproofing from neighbouring rooms needed work. The room I was in had no bedside table, something I hope can be sorted for future guests, perhaps by changing the bed to a single one. Was also lacking a safe. Hotel has a restaurant for evening meals. It was a little further from the city centre than I had realised from the map.

We chose this hotel as it had parking and was relatively close to the old town. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good especially as it included a lot of healthy seeds and nuts to go in the muesli. It was about a 12 minute walk to the old town gate along a busy main road. As we were leaving early on our last day we asked for a packed breakfast. It wasn't a problem for them but when we opened it we were very disappointed. None of the nice cakes or fruit from the breakfast buffet just some hard toast, Nutella and a bottle of fizzy water! A sad way to end what was otherwise a very good stay

Hotel is nice, rooms are huge and air conditioning is great especially since it was extremely hot while I was there! Helpful amenity kits, nice size shower and bathroom, which isn't always the case in Europe! Located a bit far from city center in not so nice area.

Although mainly a business hotel, as tourists we found this a very good place to be based. It was around a ten minute walk from the city centre of Vicenza and all the sights, and around a fifteen-minute walk from the railway station. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean. Being a little way out of the centre, and set back from the road, it was also quiet. The breakfast was good and even when it was busy the staff ensured everything was kept well-stocked. Although the restaurant menu did not have a large choice in the evening, it was more than adequate and the food was good.

Hotel on the outside of the walled town

Walkable to the town for a fairly fit person. Hotel reception open 24/7 staff friendly and helpful. The barman helped us with hot drinks on our return to the hotel, reception staff helped us at 3am when we arrived and left. Please note car park entrance to hotel is shut off for hotel security from 12pm so you have to walk around. Room was large, great views of the town from the 7th floor, large windows.

I was here for work. The hotel itself was very comfortable. They have enough free self-parking, the beds are comfortable and the staff was very helpful (they will call restaurants to make reservations etc). Unfortunately the nieghborhood isn't great. While it is walking distance to downtown the area is not the best. (ladies of the night on the corner after 10 pm) As a single female I would probably not choose this part of town again. But if you don't care about neighborhood and are looking for a well priced comfortable hotel this one is good.

Hotel de la Ville is located a bit off the beaten path, at least tourist-wise, in a city that's a bit of the beaten path, tourist-wise.

Our room was a good size, with plenty of room for a desk and chair, and the large bed. The bed itself was fairly comfy, especially by European hotel bed standards, and we slept fine in it. There was a fridge/mini bar in a cabinet in the desk as well. Those aren't complimentary snacks though, as the prices are on a sheet on the desk. The bathroom was big and clean, with plenty of counter space and good water pressure in the shower.

Staff spoke English fairly well, and while they didn't have a business centre to print museum vouchers, since we only had to print a few pages they offered to let us use the computer at the main desk. We weren't able to get them printed due to some file format issues, but it was greatly appreciated.

Pros:
- good price, especially compared to staying in Venice
- very good breakfast selection
- great staff

Cons:
- not a lot near the hotel, but the #1 bus that runs by the hotel will take you to the main historic/downtown area
- Air conditioning was OK at best, a little slow to kick in and cool the room down
- there are definitely prostitutes walking along the street that the hotel is on
- a good two thirds of the city is closed on Mondays, including the big sights, so keep that in mind for your planning.

Hard to beat at this price

The hotel is a nice hotel that has not been renovated recently, but it's still a nice hotel. The staff was super nice, the room was clean, the breakfast included a pretty big choice of foods. Nothing gourmet level, but decent quality, and there was some gluten-free stuff and organic breads. Also the location is hard to beat, since in 10-15 min you can walk to the city centre. It was also very quiet at night.
The downsides are that one side of the building is all glass, so the rooms heat up quite a bit during the day with all the sun. If you have stuff to do during the day it's not a problem, because as soon as the sun goes down, the room can easily be cooled with the AC. But if you need a hotel to spend the day in the room (not sure who would want to do that, but you never know) and its summer, maybe it's something to keep in mind.
The bed is also not super comfortable, but not awful either. The pillows are the classic pillows you find in all hotels except the luxury ones, so they collapse and become super thin as soon as you lay your head on them. The mattress is a bit stiff and old. I'm the kind of person who always has a hard time not sleeping in a comfortable bed, has often insomnia and in general is pretty picky about where to sleep. I brought my own pillows and slept just fine!
Overall I was very happy with this hotel, considering the price.

The room was clean. The area was rundown and there was nowhere to eat. The hotel had 2 large bus tours checking in so the hotel food facilities were closed for the evening. The next morning the staff could not keep the breakfast buffet stocked or the tables cleaned for the other guests. Wifi kept cutting in/out.

I stayed here for 3 weeks while on business. The staff was friendly and helpful. Several nights I ate at the hotel and the food was good for the price. The onsite parking can be a bit intimidating for those that are accustomed to more space in a parking garage. Just a short walk into the city square or to the train station. Overall I would stay here again.

Best in town!

I have stayed in vicenza a number of times for business. This is the best hotel i have stayed at! Rooms super clean and nice, staff very nice and hotel is about 1 kilometer from the \"old town\" area with shops and restaurants. Parking in old town is almost impossible so it was very nice to be able to walk from the hotel which offers free parking.

Hotel de la Ville in Vicenza is a tall \"modern\" building with bold architectural features of the 1990s, or so I would guess. The rooms are comfortable if a bit dated, and the location is only a 10-15 minute walk from Vicenza's central historic center. The morning breakfast at 8.00 € is a great deal. The Wi-Fi is free, and best of all, there is free parking in a subterranean garage with no limit on entries or exits. The staff were pleasant; one person, a dual Canadian-Italian national, was particularly helpful. I would stay here again despite the dated feel because of the more than adequate comfort and the valuable extras that are included with the room rental.

We stayed at Hotel de la Ville last year and we came back again! We love the hotel, the service and the location. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great with a big assortment of fresh fruit, cakes, cold cuts, cheeses and fresh bread. Great capuccino and assorted coffees.There's a Happy hour daily from 5PM-9PM with lovely o' deorves and moderately priced drinks.Just be careful going down to the garage, the turns are narrow with limited visibility.

The hotel is modern and conveniently located with fairly easy access to the motorway and a half hour walk to the historic center. There was also a bus stop near the hotel to take you to the historic center. It was a little difficult to find at first because it is set back from the road but trust your GPS it is there. There is ample underground parking and the elevators are efficient.

Leisure At A Great Value

So anybody traveling to Vicenza should absolutely stay here. Great price for a hotel that rivals those in the US.

Everybody was friendly, breakfast was great, rooms were clean and spacious - really don't have anything negative to stay.

I'll end by saying if you're going to Vicenza or planning to go to Venice this is the ticket (there is a train station right nearby)!

Stench of smoke, dirty glasses, loud party

It was our final night of 2-week tour of Italy on the way to Venice airport. Until that night our impression of italian hotels was very good. Hotel de la Ville Vicenza was a real nightmare. The room door had 'No smoking' sign on it. However, the room, the walls, the curtains, everything was saturated with smoke. The girl at reception pretended she doesn't understand what's the matter. \"All the rooms are non-smolkig, but if you want to have a cigarette or two, you can\" she said. After coming back from the walk to Vicenza center we found a teenager rave music boom-boom party going on at reception area. Some of them were not lucky to get in and crowded shouting in the street under our window which we had to keep open because of stench of smoke. In the mini bar we found no beverage, only two different DIRTY glasses. When I asked the girl at reception for a bottle of water, she addressed me to the bar. The bar was crowded, surrounded by several lines of screaming teenagers trying to get something to drink ... Oh, as a reward we found TWO lock-boxes in the bedside table, but those were not mounted in the wall or furniture, just thrown about one on another. The room number was 614, we stayed on Feb 1 - Feb 2 2014.

We enjoyed our stay at De LaVille Hotel. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was great, with a big selection of breakfast food. They also had a Happy Hour with free snacks. Nice outdoor area with tables and chairs to just chill out They offered dinner as well, but we never tried it. Very goo location in walking distance to the beautiful downtown area. The garage under the hotel was tricky to get to, because it was a very narrow spiral and dangerous if someone was coming from the opposite direction. Just be very careful and blow your horn! We would stay there again if we are back in Vicenza.

Clean, comfortable hotel in convenient location, 15 minute walk from station with good links to Venice and Verona. Excellent buffet breakfast, plenty of choice. Service at dinner slow and chaotic so chose to eat at local restaurant.

Business-like and Well-equipped

This is a very good hotel, which has now changed ownership. Staff are uniformly welcoming and speak excellent English. It is in an area a little outside the City Centre (10-15 minutes ambling walk) and does not look very special from the outside, but rooms are more than adequate, in a business-like way - no particular atmosphere, but everything one needs. The breakfast is spectacular - and well worth Eur8 pp. Vicenza is a very good base for exploring Verona, Padua & Venice, as well as being a treasure house of Palladian architecture.

Good location - 15 mins from Railway Stn and 15 from town centre. Friendly staff and good breakfast. However problems with aircon (Roasting), tv (could only get one channel) and opening the window ! Also there are no mains sockets in the bedroom - 1 in the bathroom.

My interests were in the old part of Vicenza, so this was not the most convenient location. The hotel was clean and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Did not have the most character, but overall a good hotel.

Good Hotel for Business Travelers

The hotel staff is very good, they speak English and are eager to help. I frequently send them documents to print for me, which they are happy to do. This was not the case at other hotels in Vicenza. The rooms are a bit outdated and could use some new unstained carpet, but they are ok. The plus of this hotel is that the rooms are air-conditioned, which is a must in the summer.

I enjoy staying there!

Vicenza - Heaps to see had 3 days could have spent twice as long.

Very happy with hotel. Very quiet. As we were travelling by rail it was a bit of a distance from the station say 10-15 minutes. The walk was easy and worth the effort.

Great modern solution for Vicenza

Walkable to the historic center and Palladian sights. Good modern style hotel. Good breakfast. Close to train station (not too close). Easy and good solution for a quick trip to Vicenza.

Terrible hotel

This was a terrible hotel. I have never stayed in such a poorly maintained and dirty hotel in my life. B4 should be ashamed to have their name attached to this hotel. The only interesting thing about this hotel was that it was situated next to a prostitution operation so the constant goings on and traffic were a source of free entertainment.
