This was a great stay in The Vatican, right across from the walls by museum entrance. Location is perfect. I love how they have a coffee maker in a communal room and snacks in the room along with water. Federica was super hospitable. The area is pretty residential, so not a lot of restaurants and such. You have to walk away for a bit which we didn’t mind, but this could be an issue for some people.

No frills Bed & Breakfast. The Location is excellent if you're visiting Vatican City. And just a 3min walk to Cipro Metro station to connect with rest of City. Friendly staff and easy check-in (before noon) and clean. Great breakfast snacks and espresso machine in community kitchen. Can highly recommend if visiting Rome for a few days!

Great communication! My bag didn’t make it on our flight from London and came on the next plane which meant a trip back to get it a few hours later. They were very helpful with arranging rides and helping with taxi service. Also the location for seeing the Vatican and good food options is great!

Property was nice, cute, clean and good location, right next to Vatican museum entrance. Nice continental breakfast, coffee machine etc. Little problem whan leaving in the morning as the entrance gate was locked and we couldn't get out...luckily my husband had the forethought to bring the keys with us to unlock the gate and then return all the keys to our room. A minor glitch but otherwise it was good.

The hotel had a great location, near the Vatican, restaurants, and shops. All were within walking distance. The breakfast provided is left in the room for the next morning and has a variety of packaged items. There is also yogurt and juice in the fridge. There is a cappuccino machine in the eating area where you can sit. The attendant was very friendly but we did not see him much. No one available in the evening but we did have a number to call if needed. We didn't have any issues so it did not matter. The shower was amazing with hot water and good pressure. Good quality towels. The room was clean& the bed was comfortable. One wall was painted light purple and it could use another coat of paint to cover some marks on the wall. I would suggest a grey color instead to match the lovely red, white, & black picture hanging above the bed. We enjoyed our stay there.

Perfect spot if you're going to visit the Vatican.

We stayed there for two nights we did the Vatican tour so is perfect location from the Vatican just a 3 minute walk. Parking was paid parking but it was close and inexpensive. There were plenty of restaurants in the area within walking distance. Transit system was also close by.

We flew into Rome and stayed just one night so that we could go to the Vatican first thing the next morning. It was fantastic to wake up so close to the Vatican after a long day of travel. Our room was clean, quiet, and convenient. I was a bit confused about some of our communication, and the folks at Vaticano84 were quite gracious about it. I can definitely recommend this for a quick and easy stayover!

Business advertises that a breakfast of local cuisine is included in the price of the room. That is simply not true. What they offer as \"breakfast\" is a few individually wrapped snack items and some jam and honey located in your room. Boxed juice and yogurt. There is no coffee machine and they offer beverages from a vending machine. They also charge you an additional 6 euro per person. This was not expressed at booking. Beds are very hard and twin size is very small.

This property is just outside the Vatican wall… just a few blocks walk to the main entrance … two or three blocks from the Vatican museum entrance.
There are restaurants and convenience stores near by. The hotel provides great nick backs for breakfast… water , juices and they have a self service cappuccino or hot water machine.

5 day Rome trip with friends

This property is less than 5 minutes walk from the Vatican Museum entrance and 15 minutes walk from St. Peter’s square. That’s why I picked it for my first 3 day in Rome.

My room (Michelangelo) probably once was part of a larger residential flat in a typical residential building. There were 4 different rooms side by side in a longer corridor. Common area in the end of it had an excellent coffee maker, a large breakfast table, 2 cereals option and a small patio.

Breakfast that was provided by the property was a typical Italian breakfast: sweet pastry, biscuits, toast, few jams, honey etc. ( Don’t expect a typical “American” breakfast such as eggs, bacon etc. This type of breakfast is not typical for Italy. 😉)

My room had a small kitchen area with a stovetop, mini fridge & personal safe was also available.

Very comfortable bed. Clean linens, Daily housekeeping.

Federica was our main contact person and she was absolutely fantastic!! Very sweet and super easy to heal with.

Hearing the various bells from Vatican every day after 8am was an added bonus. ( They can be used only at certain times and not during the night or super early in the morning 😉)

I would definitely stay there again in the future. Highly recommended!!

Not a true Bed & Breakfast

Our stay was okay. The room was clean, but the shower leaked whenever we used it and it was hard to come by staff. We only saw them twice during our week stay. It’s in a more residential part of Rome, but you’ll need public transport to get to the most main attractions and the metro closed at 9pm. It’s within walking distance from the Vatican and have some great local restaurants. The reason I would say this isn’t a bed and breakfast is because there was very minimal interaction with the host and breakfast was a a basket of crackers, jam and a croissant that’s wrapped in plastic and sitting in your room until you want it. It was not a fresh breakfast. There is a self-serve coffee machine in the common area but it’s very loud. The breakfast wasn’t sufficient so we brought breakfast stuff at the grocery store (like fruit, yogurt, cereal, meat) to make it more balanced. I would stay this is a good option for someone who’s staying for a night and/or wants more of that hotel-vibe.

There was no one when we arrived, we called the number on the app which btw it the owners cellphone, he said there were no rooms available , he wasn’t even in the building. We called hoteles and they could helped. We had to look for another place to stay in the middle of the night .This is not a hotel it’s a building and the owners rents rooms in a apartment.

Safe, quite location. Dinning and shopping is close, however through a fair amount of steps.
We always noticed a nice coffee smell in the corridor and in the last minutes of our stay found out that there is a common area with a coffee machine for all occupants to use. Would have been nice if we would have been told at the start of our stay.

Central and super close to Vatican. Good touches such as a small breakfast refilled everyday. Kind staff. However, this is not a hotel, it's a B&B. As such, there is a lot of noise especially at night if people come in late. The bed is so uncomfortable too, sadly.

No es un hotel sino un edificio con viviendas multiples y dentro de una de ellas esta vaticano84, son pocas habitaciones, muy pegadas y se oye mucho ruido en la noche. El \"desayuno \" solo es un pan, una galleta, un jugo. Hay una maquina de café y un microondas d uso comunitario.La ducha es muy pequeña. Pedimos una cama doble y nos dieron 2 camas sencillas unidas con una colchoneta encima que se hundía en la mitad lo cual fue fatal para la espalda. El wifi funciona bien, la presion de agua de la ducha y el aire acondicionado también. Federica fue la persona que nos atendió, muy amable. No hay recepción ni donde guardar maletas. Por ese precio se puede conseguir un hotel real y con mejor ubicación

This hotel is awesome! More like a little apartment. The host was so nice she showed us around the place and all the features before leaving us the keys. Was very clean. Three blocks away from the metro which is awesome if you are planning on visiting a lot of sights. The Vatican museum entrance is right down the block. Lots of stores and restaurants a few blocks away as well. In a nice residential area so not noisy. Highly recommend.

Elena was very nice and accommodating. There was room service every day with clean towels. There is a locked gate and a few locked doors before getting to your room so we felt very safe. It is in walking distance to two different subways and several bus stops and plenty of choices for restaurants. There is a place to buy tours a few blocks down the street. Also, it’s only a few blocks down from the entrance you take to the Vatican Tour.

The room was large with a double bed and two twin beds. All four of us were comfortable in the room. The hosts provided snacks and juices. There was also a coffee machine in the community space. There are a number of keys to get into the place but we didn’t mind it.

The place was a short walk away from the Vatican which worked out very well for the early morning tour we’d reserved. It is also close to the trains and buses.

The room was enormous.
The location - just a few steps away from the Vatican museums entrance, a walk distance to Metro station and one of the most important monuments - the St. Peter's Basilica.
If you have a hop on hop busses tickets, you need to walk arround 20-25 minutes to their Vatican only stop, but you pass through a picturesque places, and the walk is so pleasant (Castel Sant'Angelo St-Peter's Basilica, and you can choose between a few bridges to cross the river and get the bus stop).
The place is very secure, you have 4 locks - the lock of your appartment, the lock of the group of 4 apartments, the building lock & the front gate lock. So you could not be more secure.

Near to a metro station and some restaurants as well the Vatican that can be reached walking. Something that disappoint us was that the reception closes so early so you must check in very early in the afternoon or pay extra costs

I like the location as it is walking distance to the metro and Vatican City. Also very close to many restaurants and supermarkets. But I was disappointed in the “free breakfast”. It was simply some wrapped Pastry and crackers in your too and a general coffee machine in their “nutrition” area that always runs out of water. The breakfast also only gets refilled when your room gets “cleaned”. Input “cleaned” in quotations because the room simply gets the sheets straightened out but not changed. Towels changed our bur very thin and limiting. I was there for two weeks and I had to deal with the same sheets the wholes time. The pillow got changed out maybe a couple of times. The fridge is also just a chiller, really. It didn’t get the drinks cold until the last few days of my stay. My staff was nice but only there for a few hours a day. Which was not a problem as I was only at the place for sleeping as I was out the whole day. The bed also was a spring mattress which was uncomfortable and I had to to deal with back pin from all the walking and lack of good sleep. I also felt like the water was drying to your skin and never washed out the soap completely. I always felt slick with an incomplete shower as it felt like the soap on you body never got washed off all the way. The walls were also thin, people that came back later or talked all hours of the night is heard. I saved a ton of money but better to spend more to have a better stay.

We enjoyed our night at Vaticano84. We had stayed here before in October 2015. Both times, we were heading to the seaport to take a cruise. Bruna was very friendly and welcoming and able to answer our questions. The hotel is across the road from Vatican City. Down a set of stairs to another street (5 mins. walk) you will find a pizza place, a gelato parlour and I was even able to find a suitcase to replace mine which had been severely damaged at some point during our flights to Rome. Bruna very graciously agreed to take care of the disposal of the damaged suitcase. The room was very comfortable and the wifi reception was great. We will stay in Vaticano84 any time that we come to Rome. We enjoyed the free breakfast as well.

Great location if you want to be close to the Vatican! Literally 1 block from Vatican Museum! Restaurants are limited but coffee shops close by. The coffee maker in the common area was Really good! Our host offered much info and arranged for transportation for airport pick up and taxi service - we were very appreciative! The room was very clean and just as pictured. Beds comfortable too! The patio which was a big plus for my booking was perfect however Very loud with street traffic. But to be expected and I would stay again.

Claudio was very accommodating; he let us remain in kitchen afrea after 11AM check out to research flight options after we learned at 10:45 AM that our Norwegian air flight was cancelled. Perfect spot if you are looking to explore the Vatican City. This place is convenientely located behind the Vatican’s wall. The room itself was clean and comfortable. It has the right amount of space for a couple that is looking to explore Rome on a budget. Breakfast is more of a snack kind of thing. They provide you a tray with crackers, some croissants, Nutella and jam. They also gave us 2 waters and 2 sodas. Overall we had a wonderful stay, I’d definitely recommend.

Very close to everything. Literally, you could almost see the entrance of the Sistine Chapel. Good unlimited, freshly brewed coffee and on the go breakfast. I would stay here again for sure. Warning, don’t ever eat at Cafe Vaticano which is directly across the entrance of sistine chapel. We were charged €169 for 5 entrees. I thought my husband was joking when he told me the bill, it was almost like a joke. The nerve of the owner to ripped off the people who are visiting a holy place.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Vaticano84. It was really local to the underground, the Vatican and restaurants. The only bad point was it isn’t sign posted so when you arrive you don’t know it’s there. The hotel was very safe and secure and the staff are very friendly.

We just got back from our stay in Rome and our stay at Vaticano84 was perfect. It is a great location for all things in Vatican City.
We were very please with our stay and Bruno was so helpful and pleasant.

Beautiful place to stay, lovely lady at the hotel who takes care of your every need.
Opposite the Vatican, 2 minutes walk to the train station, one minute walk to the bus stop.
Daily housekeeping, free mini bar, snacks provided free.
Nice restaurants nearby, highly reccomend.

Location just behind vatican.

Perfect stay for our needs, good location, free snacks , sodas, mineral water . Good location right behind the vatican , large room for 4 people,has coffee maker cappuccino . Good price , no pool or other amenities but fine for 4 of us traveling. will stay again . thanks to Lovely Bruna who helped us on day of check . charming little hotel.

Great location, nice hotel

The apartment was in a great location just next to the Vatican City walls. It's also just a 5 minute walk from the metro station so it is very easy to get too.

The room had everything you need and was clean with complimentary shampoo etc. It was basic but good enough for the price. Outside the room is a coffee machine to make hot drinks and some snacks like biscuits and crackers, and also a small outside seating area. The room also has a fridge with free water, Coke and beer.

The reason I rated it lower was that the breakfast was just packets of either cakes, crackers and crossiants which for 4 days just wasn't very good or filling so we went to the shop and got some fresh fruit, Yogart etc. The other reason is the bed is a fold down one so very hard and uncomfortable. Finally our room infrequently smelt like sewage (it was raining during our stay).

Despite this though it was definitely worth the price and would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap hotel in a good location.

Exceeded all expectations ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Vaticano84 exceeded all our expectations. Great welcome on arrival and throughout our stay. The hotel was ideally located to transport links to the metro and bus stop on your door step.
The mini bar was topped up and FREE, excellent perk.
Great walking distance to the Vatican Museum, St. Peter's square and castle saint Angelo.
Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

Steps from the Vatican

We had a great experience at the Vaticano84. We had stayed in the area 8 years ago so we already knew the area. Close to everything. The Vatican and Vatican museum is close as well as metro stations. There are several restaurants and shops near by. We were in the Raffaello room. The air conditioning was a HUGE plus on a very hot day in Rome.

Good location right next to Vatican

Fantastic hotel, the staff couldn't do enough for you, room was cleaned daily, fresh towels daily, refreshments replenished daily. Nice terraced area to sit and relax in available. The location was ideal as you step out and you're right next to the Vatican. Short walk to the St Peters Basilica, shops, restaurants, supermarkets and bars short walk away. Thoroughly recommend this hotel - fabulous.

Don't stay here

It's super dirty and the rooms are tiny. I was itching for days after staying here. Maybe it was just the room I got but I definitely would never stay here again. Every time I walk by the vicinity of this place I get bad vibes. The staff wasn't very friendly either.
