I don’t think the hotel can really be considered a 5‑star property. The staff is good, but the hotel needs maintenance, especially the air conditioning. Also, the bathroom cleaning needs improvement — there are areas with mold. In any case, the stay was pleasant. Breakfast was good, and the customer service and security are impeccable.

The most amazing thing about The Wish Hotel Bahia is the staff. We checked in with two reservations—a single night via Expedia and a week with our timeshare. In an attempt to honor our request for an upgrade from a standard room, Rafael appointed a bellman to show us several options. The day after our arrival was Easter Sunday and much of the city was closed for the holiday. Henrique’s—who was an absolute delight for our entire stay—searched the internet for museums and other venues that could occupy our day. He recommended restaurants, gave us walking directions, advised us on how to stay safe, and checked on the status of our time in Salvador everyday that he was on duty. As first-time visitors to Salvador, these interactions were invaluable to us.
There are two restaurants—the one closest to the bar leaves much to be desired. We didn’t try the other, but it has great reviews. The bed was very comfortable, and our three issues with the room concerned the military school that performed drills sometimes as early as 6:45am., the shower—which was a nice size, had a shower head that only pointed toward the floor and water pooled nearly an inch deep in the back of it that had to be swept toward the drain.

Nice for a short 4 day vacation - friendly staff and the room itself was nice - more a 3 star experience. The spa and pool were nice - I had a lovely massage and spent some time in the pool, which was small but welcomed after a long day of exploring Salvador.

We had a wonderful reception and service at the front desk from Raphael. Always greeted us with a smile. Our room (premiere) was comfortable. King bed was medium (not soft & not firm…we would prefer firm but that is personal choice. Breakfast was decent. Lots of options. Coffee could improve. We were offered a later check out which was helpful and the hotel stored our luggage for the afternoon.

Nice hotel, clean room. The in room safe seems pointless as it is not bolted down and could be easily carried away, it's not heavy. A big annoyance for me is that this hotel does not have wash cloths, so if you're used to that, bring your own. Otherwise, well located with decent breakfast buffet.

Everything went great. The room was in great condition and the bathroom was always well stocked. There were plenty of options for breakfast and the food was good quality. The pool in the back was spacious and just deep enough to accommodate anyone whether you can or can’t swim.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Wish Hotel da Bahia. The location is ideal — close to the historic center, beaches, and great restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a perfect mix of modern comfort and classic Salvador charm. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Salvador!

Tinha uma barata no meu quarto.
Tenho pânico de baratas e viajava sozinha.
O Vitor da portaria subiu , achou a barata e matou.Fiquei em estado de choque.Estava de toalha pronta para entrar no banho. Ele teve que entrar para me ajudar.Pedi para mudar de quarto.Outros 2 funcionários ajudaram e fui de toalha para o outro quarto. Mesmo em outro quarto pedi um spray inseticida e dormi a outra noite de luzes acesas. Tinha um curso na cidade e foi super cansativo.Traumático.

I had an incredible stay at Wish Hotel da Bahia! From the moment I arrived, the staff provided outstanding hospitality, ensuring a smooth check-in process and making me feel welcome.

Rooms
My room was spacious, well-maintained, and spotless. The bed was very comfortable, and the amenities provided added to the overall convenience. The housekeeping team did an excellent job, ensuring everything was fresh and tidy each day.

Nearby Activities
The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring Salvador. It’s close to key attractions like Mercado Modelo, Elevador Lacerda, and Pelourinho, all of which are rich in culture and history. The beach is also a short ride away, offering a great mix of city and coastal experiences.

Safety & Transportation
I felt very safe throughout my stay. The hotel has good security measures in place, and the surrounding area felt secure. I used Uber to get around the city, which was very affordable and convenient. Drivers were easy to find, and rides to major attractions were quick and inexpensive.

Food & Drinks
The dining options at the hotel were fantastic! Breakfast had a great selection of Bahian and international dishes, always fresh and flavorful. I also dined at Casa de Tereza, which was an amazing experience with authentic local cuisine. The drinks at the hotel’s bar were refreshing, and the service was excellent.

Final Thoughts
Wish Hotel da Bahia exceeded my expectations in every way.

We definitely enjoyed our stay at the Wish hotel. It's conveniently located in the heart of Salvador so we were a cheap Uber ride away from the main attractions. Breakfast and dinner were included (which was a surprise, didn't know dinner was!) and the food was outstanding! Not a bad meal the entire 5 days we were there. A fresh buffet for dinner with a lot of options. My only complaint is that they do need to update their rooms. They are a little dated. But other than that, we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend it. We found out the Wish is the first 5 star hotel in Salvador and the art work in there has a history according to our tour guide.

I was very disappointed, because usually I only say good things about my stays, I paid lot of money for this hotel, honestly I don’t think that worth it half of what I paid for it. Old hotel, water restrictions on the faucet, no free parking, no flexibility if you need make changes on your reservation. The facilities and breakfast are great but the room was in poor condition also a simple 200ml water bottle was way too much expensive, like 20 times more than a local supermarket. I don’t recommend it. There is better options in town.

É um hotel 4 estrelas, nos banheiros não tem janela porém o exaustor é muito fraco, então fica um cheiro muito forte do banheiro usado no quarto e pode levar horas pra desperçar e isso é bem desagradável...móveis com pequenos defeitos, não tem piscina aquecida á noite.

Overall, I would stay at this location again. My biggest issue was that I booked a triple room and they attempted to put me in a double room. They then took over 3 hours, multiple and multiple back and forks before I finally had to express my frustration and disappointment with the lack of a solution before they finally made us change rooms to a triple. Otherwise the staff were all pleasant and respectful, the two restaurants had solid food, the WiFi was reliable for the most part, and the room was spacious enough.

We stayed in a family suite (separate rooms with a pull-out bed in the adjacent room). The suite and especially the bathroom were small. There was a dual HVAC system for each room. One of the systems was broken and the room remained quite warm during our stay. The Policia Militare were in the hotel daily and the hotel security seemed to be on constant high alert. It was a bit nerve wracking. The highlight of the stay was the breakfast buffet!

Almost everything was great, food was amazing. One worse thing we had was the plastic pillows. Such a beautiful and comfortable rooms have the WORSE touch you can have, the plastic pillows ?? I don’t know who would think that they are appropriate and comfortable, really?? Hotel management do not notice that even in the hospitals they give a better pillows ?? That was the only reason I am taking one star away. Otherwise hotel was amazing.

Breakfast has lots of variety.
Hotel service is very good.
Location isn't great, nothing within walking distance and is not a safe area to walk. A few people have been robbed around the area.

The wish is an oasis in the middle of a depressed area where people struggle to make ends meet. The highlight of the stay was the complimentary breakfast- it had many options, fruit, bread, sweet cakes, coffee,
And excellent wait staff. The pictures make the pool area look fancy but it isn’t. However, they play the best music. Overall, I would stay here again. My second favorite hotel in Salvador, Brazil.

I really enjoyed staying at the Wish Hotel. Having breakfast and dinner included was great for a solo traveler if I didn't feel like going out. I enjoyed hanging out by the pool, relaxing and having their yummy snacks. It was a great stay with excellent service. The park nearby was also a great place to walk in the early evenings.

The gym and the pool is decent and it’s walking distance to Porto Barra where it’s popping at night. Great food there as well.

Salvador is such a rich and diverse city with lots to experience and all within walking distance of you choose…..would recommend wish with hesitation.

I accidentally lost the card with the names of the staff who were amazing so to all the check in staff - I rate you …. Friendly, approachable and helpful…….. sorry I could not mention your name but to the manager it’s all of them lol

I have just checked out of this incredible hotel and have already booked to stay here again in September, when I return to Salvador Bahia again. I did not see one insect inside the building. Cleaners were on duty right around the clock! All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. Shout out to Erick (reception) and Thiago (waiter); I wish I could take them both home with me!!!

All of the windows in the hotel have moisture in between the glass, so most of the windows need to be replaced because you can't see anything through them, it makes the rooms dark and you can't see outside.

The hotel is an oasis in the busy city. Large lobby, lobby bar and an indoor, outdoor restaurant where a big breakfast is to be enjoyed.
The staff is efficient and friendly.
The room upgrade was very much appreciated. It is one of the reasons VIP access hotels are booked by us…what a fabulous perk along with the good discount.

Honestamente, depois de ler vários comentários sobre este hotel, decidi reservar este hotel. No geral, minha experiência foi ótima. A equipe deste hotel foi muito simpática e acolhedora. Fiquei surpreso que o inglês fosse falado pela maioria da recepção e alguns dos funcionários do restaurante também tentassem se comunicar em inglês. No entanto, como viajantes estrangeiros, se você tiver um tradutor no seu celular, nunca deverá ter problemas para se comunicar com ninguém. O hotel era muito acessível e os quartos eram limpos. Mais uma vez, fiquei maravilhado com a equipe e com a disposição de me ajudar de qualquer maneira que pudessem. ao lado do hotel há um parque e à noite havia algumas músicas dos festivais que estavam tendo, mas não era um problema. Infelizmente, é a estação chuvosa nos primeiros 3 dias, o tempo não foi o melhor, mas os últimos 3 dias foram bons. Viajar pela cidade foi muito fácil, barato e seguro via Uber para transporte. Existem muitos centros comerciais e locais históricos a cerca de 20 minutos de carro ou menos do hotel. Eu altamente recomendaria este hotel e eu ficaria no meu retorno. Meu encontro com todos os funcionários foi bom. Porém, gostaria de destacar os seis funcionários a seguir pelo excelente atendimento ao cliente durante minha estada de 18 a 23 de junho de 2023.

This was my first time in Brazil. Few staff speaks English ,however I was able to translate using my phone.
