I recently stayed at this hotel and had an amazing experience. The service was excellent from start to finish, with staff always friendly, attentive, and ready to help. The location was perfect, making it easy to get around and explore the area.

A special mention goes to Jose from the restaurant, who truly stood out. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made every dining experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The room is very basic, there is no even a second night stand , no closet, just several shelves, no table. Terrible lighting.The bed wasnt comfortable. I wouldnt stay again.

Staff were friendly, professional, and on top of everything. I was very happy with our room with the view of the ocean. There was quite the assortment for breakfast (I miss those pão de queijos)! It’s close to pelourinho, a mall, and other popular districts. Highly recommended this hotel!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. First thing is the staff: excellent service, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
Maintenance is also impeccable. Everything works, is clean and well kept.
Breakfast is amazing! Variety, quality, flavor and nutrition are very well balanced. Probably one of the top three I've had in my life of extensive travels.
The only thing really that could use a little improvement is the drink menu at the bar. The quality is great but selection is somewhat limited.

We'll definitely be back.

While my stay had a few challenges, I appreciated how quickly and pleasantly issues were resolved whenever I reached out via WhatsApp; not the concierge because English speaking staff was limited. For instance, the toilet bowl was on the verge of overflowing upon arrival, and the room door wasn’t locking properly—but both were promptly addressed.
However, what truly frustrated me was the repeated miscalculation of the laundry charge. First, I was quoted 620, then 330, then 360, when the actual cost was 320. I had to provide photo evidence of the returned clothes to prove the discrepancy. Honesty is non-negotiable for me, and this matter should be addressed with the staff.
On a positive note, the hospitality was outstanding. Gusto, the doorman, and Gabrielle at the front desk were incredibly helpful each day. I regret not catching the other gentleman’s name, but his assistance was much appreciated as well (also a doorman). The included breakfast was superb, and the rooms were exceptionally comfortable.

This is the place to stay when in Salvador. The hotel has comdortable beds, excellent breakfast buffet and tasty menu for other meals. A small pool on the ground floor deck which looks out onto the street and beach (perfect for viewing Carnaval). Almost every amenity you could need is within walking distance, including a mall. A short, easy Uber ride to other attractions in Salvador. I look forward to staying here during non-Carnaval time

The property is well kept, and the staff was truly invested in my experience. Nicest people and quick to respond to my requests. The gym is not really up to par so if you work out you might want to figure out an alternative. Overall this is an excellent choice and would stay here if I ever go back to Salvador. Definitely worthy of 4 stars.

Watch for ancillary charges at checkout. Fee to check in early (before 3:00).

I don't often write reviews, but the staff at Monte Paschal Praia really do deserve some recognition for being so friendly, welcoming and helpful, especially when dealing with a complicated multi-part reservation, broken adapters et cetera. We were upgraded to a sea-view room, with a wonderful view of the bay. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet is delicious and the pool is perfect for cooling off on hotter days.

Was there for 14 days I truly enjoyed my stay perfect location close to the beach the staff was wonderful. Though the hotel was somewhat dated it was comfortable. I don’t know maybe its just me use to staying in five-star resorts perhaps someone else may see it differently.

A very short overnight stay to catch a flight out of town the next day, but didn't want to stay at an airport hotel, so I choose this hotel based on previous travelers recommendations. Hotel itself is fine, Fernando at the front desk spoke acceptable English, nice enough to upgrade my room. The hotel itself is fine with few complaints for the money, but the area around the hotel leaves much to be desired. Not a problem if all you want to do is lay on the beach, which of course is right across the street. There are better areas to relax and feel comfortable in this area. If you choose this area, the hotel will fit your needs.

Location: Close to the Barra beach but this is the 'old' part of Bahía - the oldest being Pelourinho (city center - 'parada obligatória'; must see but dangerous at night; they say). Rio Vermelho is where it's happening now - US$8 taxi from Barra incl tip.
Service is OK (slow). Front desk service is very good.
Breakfast is OK; don't expect bacon/salmon/bloodymary/mimosas.
Looking for ice at the hotel? Expensive.
Looking for drinks at the 'pileta' (pool)? Very reasonable/affordable.

Very nice hotel in a good location, 15 minutes taxi drive from the historical centre of Salvador. Five minutes walking distance from a luxurious indoor shopping centre of Euorpean standards. Hotel swimming pool is a bit small but shallow and therefore suitable for children. Beach opposite is perfect for surfing. In all highly recommended.

Needs some TLC and staff training!

This hotel is rough around the edges and in run down area. The pool is tiny, the wifi disfunctional and the rooms although bright had moss growing in the outside door frames.
They spoke little or no English on reception and were never overly friendly or polite.
Not good value for a 3*.

We only stayed for 2 nights, but this is far off from being a 4 star hotel. There is only staff member who spoke English, everything else was sign language.

We booked two rooms. In one of them we had to call the from desk because the sheets smelled dirty and the towels were stained. There was only one soap provided, without a wrapper, so arguably been there for a bit.

We only had wifi in the bathroom, so that's far from being a "service". If you're by the pool area there's barely any reception at all.

In the second room the sheets on one bed were stained and overall it felt like they were using twin sheets for queen beds. Mattress was exposed at all times and for somebody who sleeps a bit more "creative" you may end up sleeping on the mattress as the sheet drifts.

We enjoyed the trip and the city, but this is not a 4 star hotel by any means or decent standards!

Overall this was a nice hotel, breakfast was good the staff were lovely, the pool area was relaxing and the area was good. BUT there was some things that really got on my nerves. The basically non existent wifi was very annoying, also the bedding sheets seemed too small for the beds and would all come loose in the night, either the beds were made poorly or you need bigger sheets.

Nice hotel on the new "orla", the beach promenade.

Stayed seven nights in August during a beach-oriented vacation in this small hotel with the basics and a warm atmosphere. There were tourists and families of all ages from Brazil and everywhere else and even a business team on a training. Has a pleasant restaurant that was a good backup for the beachside restaurants. There is a direct bus to the pelourinho and historic area and a short walk to an elaborate shopping mall. The beach, stretching from a point just across the street, is a mix of small diverse zones and has restaurants, bars and services stretching back for blocks. This beach is primarily for the locals but has a strong dose of tourists. There is everything from a zone for surfers, to sheltered pools where families play, to a rocky stretch where locals snorkel to fish, to a very busy area with a lot of stand up paddle board activity. The hotel has exercise equipment, shower, etc.. but the room is in the basement and damp. Upon arrival we were told to be careful about pickpockets, etc. by staff, taxi drivers etc. But we didn't see anything noteworthy after spending 8 days wandering among the very diverse crowd on the beach, orla and city streets. Just calls for the usual urban common sense and a consistent but warm 'no' to ubiquitous vendors.

We just returned from a ten day stay at the Monte Pascoal. We had a full ocean view with a lovely balcony. We slept very well with the great air conditioning in a room that was basic but clean and comfortable. Always hot water and good water pressure. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. Staff couldn't have been nicer. We took advantage of the World Cup amenities and several nearby bars and restaurants. Price was definitely high, because of the World Cup but overall we were very happy. Had wifi, but it was slow.

Barra Beach Hotel

The hotel has a few years on it, but it's not in bad shape. The location is good if you are looking for a beach hotel. It's not in front of the most popular beach in Barra, but it's a short walk or you can just have more beach to yourself right across the street. The staff speaks basic english. The breakfast included with the rate is pretty typical for Brasil and includes a lot of breads, fruit, juice and cakes. The room we were assigned was on the side, near the front of the hotel, so the balcony opened to the ocean, which was quite nice. The bed was small - probably just a full size bed, not a queen, though the room could have fit two queen beds, making it took a little empty. Shower had good water pressure and the usual minuscule ration of soap. Would I stay here again? Probably not. It was nice enough, and nothing really wrong with it, but there wasn't anything exceptional about the hotel and because of the number of rooms, seemed impersonal. I'd pick somewhere smaller.

Melhor Hotel da Barra em Salvador, mas precisam de rever alguns detalhes no hotel: café da manhã, apesar de muito bom, é repetitivo, todos os dias as mesmas coisas, o que torna enjoativo. Falta de cortesia de alguns funcionarios especialmente com os brasileiros, nem bom dia dão, mas para os estrangeiros o sorriso e bom dia é constante e o tratamento é outro. A cafeteira que fica no quarto luxo precisa de uma limpeza, parece que está ali sem nunca ter sido limpada, tanto é que o café que sai das capsulas é minimo, carece de uma manutençao. Ao chegar no Hotel queriam me colocar num quarto inferior ao que contratei, questionei e fui trocado pelo quarto correto.

As instalações do hotel são ótimas, porém a equipe de funcionários deixou a desejar.
O hotel estava lotado de hóspedes estrangeiros que eram visivelmente tratados com maior simpatia do que nós, brasileiros.
Solicitei um late checkout, e no momento que desci, estava chegando um grupo de turistas estrangeiros.
O mensageiro que estava ajudando, quase passou por cima de mim com as malas do turista para entrar no elevador, sem mal esperar que eu saísse.
A recepção, disse que estava com a confusão do checkin, que eu tinha que esperar acabarem pra finalizar meu checkout. Sendo que eu tinha esperado na fila até chegar minha vez de ser atendida.
O valor da moeda estrangeira é claramente mais valiosa que nossa.
Visito Salvador anualmente e pela segunda vez seguida escolhi o Monte Pascoal por conta das instalações, mas certamente o próximo ano não escolherei novamente, buscarei um hotel que trata todos seus hóspedes igualmente, afinal todos pagamos as diárias.
