Yet, I’m still trying to iron out an excessive charge on a credit card even though I had paid in advance through Expedia at the time I booked the room (2nights). I believe this disputed charge will be resolved given that no record of expenses was ever incurred.

Decent room size and the beds were comfortable. The views from the windows were amazing. Bathroom amenities were nice. We showed up at 9:53 for breakfast and they didn’t want to serve us unless we hurried so we skipped it and went to our other hotel. We didn’t use the pool or spa which was extra anyway. Easy walk to the train to get into town as well. The hotel is in a very quiet part of town and we slept well.

Overall a good stay but could be better.

We booked this hotel so that we could have a chillout following a climb of Mont Blanc.

PRO'S = Very clean and modern throughout. Nice pool area and outdoor dining area. Helpful and friendly reception team. Bedrooms are modern, comfortable, and very clean.

CONS = Hospitality could be so much better. When we stayed the temperature was around 30+ degrees so very hot - the hotel does not offer drinks before 4pm and when asked the staff were reluctant to even provide a soft drink.

The outdoor dining area is lovely and yet the hotel does not serve lunch!! this could be a real money maker for them and an obvious addition if they could be bothered.

The hotel is completely on its own and so has a captive audience - there are literally no other options for food or drink in the area and that includes shops.

Overall we liked the hotel but it could be so much more. The man in charge of the restaurant should also learn to smile as he was particularly miserable.

The advertised spa and hot tub are an additional charge of 20 Euros per person per hour, which was not evident in the hotels.com feature. The breakfast was very good. This hotel is a long way out of town, which would have been fine, if the hot tub was included in the price...

In my view just because a room has a balcony does not make it superior if it is the same size as a standard. Thankfully the hotel rectified this situation after the first night which was appreciated.

Great stay

We recently stayed at this hotel in early September and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were incredibly cordial and welcoming. Despite it being the beginning of the month, there were many groups of tourists, which added to the lively atmosphere.

One of the perks of staying here is that the hotel offers a train card, which was very handy for traveling between Vallorcine and Chamonix — a great bonus for exploring the area.

We were quite pleased with the hotel, though we did encounter two minor issues. First, our room was extremely hot, and there was no air conditioning, which made it a bit uncomfortable to sleep at night. Second, the swimming pool is closed whenever it rains, which was a bit disappointing.

Despite these small inconveniences, if these issues aren’t deal breakers for you, I would definitely recommend this hotel. The overall experience was positive, and the location and service were excellent.

We found the hotel to be very poorly run.
On the second day the room was made up. Damp towels were put on top of the beds, used coffee cups were left, coffee and sugar wasn’t replaced. The dining area for breakfast was poorly run. Jars of jams had run out and not been replaced. Tables were left dirty, floor was sticky. Overall this hotel is poorly run, understaffed and the staff that do work there don’t do the job properly. I would choose another hotel if I were you.

Go for the spa/pool but don’t expect much else

This is only 4 star because of the pool and spa.
You have to book in to use the steam/sauna and it’s limited.
Rooms far too warm and no temp control. No shower gel provided, got a dirty towel with a hair band and hair on it. No fresh cups for tea/coffee - room service, only make the bed and empty the bins. Had to get a robe at reception for the spa as none provided in the rooms.
Restaurant is pretentious with average food.

When we first check in our room had five flies flying around and while I had to storm around the room with my shoe to kill all of them, the room was great. We paid for a Mountain View and had amazing views of Mont Blanc from the room. It was an amazing trip for my husband and I.

Loved the Excelsior! Great room with balcony overlooking Mt Blanc. Gorgeous pool and spa was still open at the end of September and perfect for a post-sight seeing day out.
2 minute walk to bus stop/train station for free travel along whole Chamonix Valley - Chamonix only 10 minutes on bus.
Great walk from hotel up the Le Chapeau for lunch amongst the peaks.

Overall is a nice stay with great balcony view and friendly staff.
However, the check-in staff told us breakfast is 15 eu per person but we ended up paying 17/pp and the reason is we did not pre-book which they did not mention the difference to us at all (else we would pre-book). When we checked out and noticed the difference, the receptionist (another one) did nothing and said nothing about it at all as it was not her shift so not her business. From my perspective, tho it's little money, I think all the staff represent this Hotel and should show more care about customers to deal with any matter( even it's not their shift, they shouldn't show such careless). And the staff should also give the customer the right information.

pool area is very nice although not enough sun beds.
there is no air condition in the reception nor in the room.
We had to drag the suitcases up and down few stairs because the disabled elevator didn't work. even after 5 days. it seems to be a permanent problem.
I was charged for the whole room on the day of the check-in without informing me although I should have been charged on the day of the check out.
The mattress was too soft.
Compared to what we paid it was very disappointing.

Good location out of Chamonix but within easy reach either walking along the riverside or using free train/bus pass available at the hotel (ask about this as was not offered at check-in). Train station and bus stop 5 minute walk from hotel. Downside is price of breakfast - €17 per person which is not good value for money for what is largely self service continental buffet. Mini fridge in room for those who want to do their own thing.
Staff friendly and hotel has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful mountain views from hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Little Gem just outside Chamonix

Lovely hotel in les tinges which is about a 5 minute drive from the centre of Chamonix.
The reception staff were warm helpful and gave us a tour of the hotel to make sure we had a good stay. The room was very clean, comfortable and really warm on a cool spring day.
The hotel is away from the main amenities but within easy reach to the centre of town and the ski lifts either by car or bus. Local parking in the centre is both plenty full and reasonable.
The hotel is a little Gem.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, specially Pauline who attended to certain dietary allergies my friend’s daughter had.

Dinner meals were all beautifully prepared. Fresh orange juice you can squeeze yourself in the morning was an added bonus as well as the eggs you can boil yourself to your preference. Unfortunately this wasn’t available on our last day.

Location is around 10 mins to Chamonix Centre, also accessible by bus, every 10 mins and tickets are provided for by the hotel for free. For convenience, a car rental would really help with the ski equipments.

The only minor negative feedbacks are: toiletries were not replaced every morning, so had to request for more which they gladly provided. Pets were also allowed which is great for pet lovers, but an unpleasant experience for my husband who was allergic. He broke out in hives on our last night after sat next to a dog at dinner, thankfully during dessert, so he just had to rush his meal.

Great value for money for a half board stay.

Would definitely stay here again next time we plan another skiing trip in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.

A bit stark and lacking atmosphere

I stayed 4 nights to offer some comfort to counterpoint the 3 days of climbing that my body was not prepared for. In preparation I booked 2 deep tissue massages a day apart.

The first day I arrived at 1.30pm and was told the restaurant stopped serving lunch at 2pm. So went down at 1.45pm and was told they were shut, however they could offer a snack - I asked what - and was given the impression that they would reluctantly do a bowl of pasta with tomato sauce. I felt like while I was eating the pasta the waitress had somewhere to be and the bill came literally as I finished. The bowl of pasta was 14 Euros - which I thought was a lot.

That evening I met a lovely guy in the bar and he said he had eaten there once and decided to eat elsewhere for the rest of the week given the staff's nonchalance.

So I ate out for the rest of my stay until the final evening. I ate the tartiflette, which was fine, but ate my whole meal without anyone asking me if I wanted anything else to drink, or if I was happy. I waited so long to sign for the bill that I ended up just walking out and explaining to reception that I was fed up wating.

The Spa staff were delightful but not trained in giving deep tissue massages, so was pleasant but not recuperative and so I think on the expensive side 110 Euros for 50 minutes.

Rooms were well equipped and beds comfortable. reception staff were very friendly. Unfortunately they forgot to give me a wake up call this morning - luckily alarm worked!

Some staff were great and super helpful, but some were not helping at all. They didn't tell me where was the ski locker and didn't give me the key, even though I obviously arrived with a snowboard.
You'd need to learn how buses and trains run. The schedules are on Chamonix website. The schedules and distentions are a bit messy, but as soon as you are fluent in it, the hotel location won't be an issue. It's 5 min away from train and bus stations. Otherwise you'd be trapped since there is nothing in the hotel's area. Rooms were warm, cosy and comfortable.

We arrived at midnight, and the staff had everything waiting for us. Hotel is a super clean and deserves it 4 stars. The location is a few minutes drive after the city, so a car is a must. The environment and location will take your breath away. Certainly a trip one wishes to repeat.

A lovely newly renovated hotel. Nice and clean. Would stay again only thing that I found as a drawback was the breakfast. It had a lovely set up and a good spread but it was not that well managed; it was difficult to get a clean table, they ran out of egg cups, long waits between top ups of the warm foods etc. Surprising considering the number of staff they had attending. Would have loved to see some options of snack at the bar area. Stayed wild Children who was hungry after a day in the slopes and they only offered some light bites after 6 pm and the restaurant do not open until 7pm.

Hotel was clean and nice, however just far enough out of town to be a little inconvenient. If one was to catch the bus into town for dinner you have to pay €30 to return via taxi or private car. Particularly hard to get back if you are to stay past midnight in town. Apart from that, staff were helpful and the restaurant good. Free bus ticket from reception to allow access to the town bus.

We booked our room with mountain view in the hotel that was shown in the expedia pictures. But when we arrived we got the room in a small building with a lots of noise. We asked to get the room we payed for and spoke with manager Lydia, but she told us to wait and stay in hotel for many hours next day to see if she will get the room for us . It was rude and unprofessional . This was not pleasant experiance and we wont stay there again.

We stayed here en-route to Italy. The hotel is outside Chamonix town itself in a village about 4 miles up the road - which means no apres-ski / after hours noise so very relaxing and quiet.

The views of Mont Blanc are amazing and we would happily stay here again.

The staff were helpful and friendly and the room was clean and tidy.

The spa features were great too.

We had great expectations from this hotel especially from the pictures. Well the room they gave us sucked! It was like a closet with two beds. With no air condition you have to sleep with the windows open, but when people are allowed to smoke on their balconies expect to smoke a couple of packs of cigarettes for the night during your sleep. The wifi was extremely bad and when asking for help the front desk was like tough, that is the way it is. I would not stay here again and felt they really ripped us off in the price we paid vs the room they gave us, again nothing even close to the pictures they show, just two little windows to peek out of and to breath smoke.

Nice and clean with great views of the mountains

Always somewhere to park outside the hotel, food a little on the expensive side with no simple bar snax for lunch, just the same evening menu all day, bit of a shame.

Fabulous Hotel

My family, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, stayed in this hotel for one night. The room is clean and spacious with comfortable beds and linens.

This hotel has facilities like sauna, hammam and jacuzzi for free and a swimming pool with a great view of the mountains. The hotel is a little far from the town center, but it's no problem at all if you have a car. Highly recommended!

Kimho

Great view of the Montblanc outside the hotel, exactly like their photo on website. Just 10 min walk from Les Tine train station, which is 5-min from Chamonix station. Nice jacuzzi, swimming pool with view of Montblanc. The only setback was our room which does not have Wifi, also no TV remote control, and the receptionist did not help us to resolve these problems. Room is also poor with soundproof. Price is overall acceptable for the standard offered by the hotel.
