It was very clean, and in a good location. Just a 13min walk from the old town and bus station, with cheap fare to the surrounding areas. A good option to save a few bucks when visiting lake bled. Radovljica is very cute and picturesque with lots of option for food and drink.

If you are visiting Lake Bled this is a great place to stay as you are only a 10 minute drive away . There is on site parking which is included . The breakfast area was cozy and had all the basics needed to start your day and was also included . There are several restaurants nearby to choose from for lunch or dinner . The area is super quiet and we enjoyed just sitting on our balcony taking it all in .There is no front desk at this hotel which I was a little leary about the automated check in process but it was very simple and worked great . Once you make your room payment and scan your travelling docs it will provide you with a lock code . I was very impressed with the self check in process . Bedroom and bathroom were spacious and superclean . We really enjoyed staying at the Penzion Kovac and would not hesitate to stay there again .

Nice place but problem with honoring our booking

We made reservation for 2 rooms few months ago. On the morning of the check in we got a message from the owner that because of overbooking error on his part he has to change one room from a regular double bed to a 5 beds room, in the basement with bathroom and shower outside the room, for the same price! No discount! We were very frustrated because we booked the rooms a very long time ago and the owner chose to not honor our booking! Other than that the stay was nice. We were able to have our laundry washed, breakfast was nice and the girl who served it was very gracious and personable.

Disappointing stay

Let's start with the only positive : location, about 15 minutes away from lake Bled in a quiet little pretty town.

From that point on, went downhill for us.

We were fully aware that we had made a basement booking, but the conditions we met were quite poor in general. And if you consider the price tag attached, I would dare say rather appalling.

The room was very humid. You could both feel it and smell it. Probably made worse by the fact that all the \"wellness facilities\" (aka sauna) and shared bathrooms were also located in the basement, creating even more humidity. We washed one of our baby's overalls and it did not dry in 2 days !!Decoration was peculiar at best, with a tiger and a naked lady wall paintings!

Breakfast buffet. This is usually an easy way to compensate, but not in this case. Selection was very poor, some items (cereal) felt dated and coffee vending machine needs an urgent upgrade to dispense drinkable coffee. Lack of healthy options was noticeable.

Customer service was also not great, with check in fully automated and little presence in the property.

I cannot stress enough that the value for money received was tragic.

That said, the surrounding area is beautiful. Amazing scenery!

It was great. The family room was the perfect size and breakfast was AMAZING! The owner is super kind and welcoming. My only complaints are that the breakfast room is rather small and with COVID, it made me nervous and that you had to pay 5€/day extra for air conditioning.

Matjaž was a caring and very helpful host. He replied very promptly to my pre-arrival email about transport options with good advice and during my short stay nothing too much trouble. My room was spacious, very clean, the mattress comfortable, the location quiet. There was a wide selection of breakfast options. The lovely old historic part of Radovljica is an easy 10 minute walk. Recommend.

This is the place to stay!

Our host was very helpful. His family lives in the well kept building. It is 10 years old, but is like brand new. The breakfast is awesome, it is an easy walk to the historic old town. Bled is an easy drive, and you avoid the crowds staying here in a quiet village.

Rather disappointingly upon arrival at this hotel we were informed they had overbooked and we would have to relocate. This was frustrating given we had selected the hotel for its location. We had booked two weeks ahead and prepaid so the overbooking was unforgivable in my opinion. The hotel they relocated us to was perfectly fine but was located out of town meaning we had to drive to get anywhere. I would not recommend relying on this hotel.

Short car ride to Bled

This hotel was 15 minutes from Bled so very good for car travelers. It is located right next to a very beautiful and quaint old town center with great local restaurants. The room is very comfortable- the owner has gone to great effort with many small touches to make your stay comfortable- folder with brochures about things to see and do, toiletries etc. not what I expected from what seemed like very basic accommodation. The breakfast was amazing. We had eggs cooked fresh to our choice and the selection of foods was excellent. There was even a home made cake which we had to try as it looked so good- it was!! I would have stayed here longer has I known how good it was.

Nicest hosts on the planet earth!

The people who run the Pension Kovac are the nicest people I've met in the hospitality business. Period. They were super helpful. The keep the place spotlessly clean, offer a generous and delicious breakfast, and do all they can to help their guests enjoy their stay. One warning: we booked the lowest priced room and got the automatic hotel.com confirmation that the room would have a balcony and air conditioning available at 5 euros a day. We were given a lovely room, but it was in the basement and air conditioning was not really available. Even so, the owners did what they could to cool the room. You will love this place and these people.

Good Value Stay for a Couple of Nights

For the money, you cannot really complain, hotel was clean, well equipped and there was lots of variety at breakfast. The only thing to consider is location - it is in a quiet suburb of a sleepy town, which fine if you have a car, which we did, as a close drive to Bled and the 'motorway', but otherwise it is a 15 min walk to town then bus.

Stayed here for 3 nights last week of October. Original plan was for 1 night but the great service and location lead us to stay two more.

We had a car and did say trips to Bled, Bohin, Tolmin, Stol and others. This location was great for access to all. And was 25 minutes drive to Ljubljana.

Radovjica is also a great place to go see at night for some food and drink.

We WILL be back.

Charming Pension near Bled

Pension Kovac is a charming place in a quaint town-Radovijica perched above the Sava River. There is a very charming Old Town with an interesting beekeeping museum. We walked
to Bled(6 km) along the Sava River and then took the bus back.
The Pension is clean and cozy in a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance to the Old Town. Breakfast was very good and the owner very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was great! The hotel is run as a family affair and the pride and attention to detail is on par with 4 and 5 star hotels. The location is perfect and the town, which is a 10 minute walk away is like stepping back 700 years. The resturants and people are awesome. Visit the ice cream store and you will be blown away by both the taste and prices. We stopped by the local church and the Priest gave us a jar of honey and talked our ear off. The breakfast at the hotel was great, prepared to order and all you can eat. I have nothing negative to say about our stay and will return!!

Great place. Very large room, and bathroom with a full tub. We pulled in at midnight and the he was waiting for us. The breakfast was had tons of options from home made danishes, a meat selection, muffins, various juices, coffee, and he even cooked us fried and scrambled eggs. The hotel right off the highway in a nice area. It's about a 10 minute drive from Lake Bled, so it's not easily walk-able. We were very happy with our stay there.

A great place to base your Slovenian holiday

We had a most enjoyable stay at this hotel. Greeted in English with a warm welcome and coloured eggs our en suite room was very clean, tidy, warm, spacious and quiet with free wifi access and TV if wanted. There was ample choice and quantity for breakfast. Restauraunts are available in the centre of Radovljica within 10 minutes walk. The hotel owner was very helpful and available for advice. I would recommend hiring a car if not driving yourself there, though there are buses and trains that run through the town. Bled is within easy driving distance - about 4 or 5 miles. The hotel is easily reached from the airport, within about 20 minutes.

This is not a luxury hotel but the quality of the service and the welcome were second to none. We received a very personalised and genuine service, for example, at breakfast. Yet the staff are unobtrusive and do not get in the way at all, but facilitate what you want to do very smoothly. This is easily the most enjoyable stay I have had in a hotel for a long time.

pro tip --- if you're booking in the summer, ask for a room with air conditioning, because all but two rooms have it and you can use for a fee of €5. even though we didn't have it, we were okay because there were huge windows. we were a party of four and it was the nicest four-person room we stayed in. and like everyone says, the breakfast is amazing. it's like a continental breakfast gone out of control. there's everything imaginable in a buffet, and then the owner cooks you whatever eggs you want. we got the impression you could have asked for just about anything and he would have cooked it for you. the location is very close to the highway and very close to bled and triglavski national park.

Perfect!

Can't praise this establishment highly enough. My partner and I were highly impressed by the welcome, the excellent room (and balcony) and the superb breakfasts in the subterranean kitchen(!). Although set in a residential suburb, it is only a few minutes walk from the historic centre of Radovljica and the more modern area with its shops, bus and train station. The surrounding area is very peaceful at night. The staff were friendly, warm and extremely helpful.

A great option near Bled if you have a car

We have no understanding of the Slovenian language so were relieved when Matjaz, our host, welcomed us to his excellent penzion in English. The rooms are quite new and very large with excellent facilities in a residential area not far from the main road. An excellent breakfast with many options was provided.
We chose Penzion Kovac because it was only a 10 minute drive to Bled and also quite close to Ljubljana. It was even possible to drive to the caves at Postojna and Predjama Castle with little effort.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover that Radovljica has its own interesting history and a great little town centre. We enjoyed the 5 minute walk into attentive little restaurants providing tradtional food and local wines each night.
The lake, island and castle at Bled are well known and gorgeous. We also discovered the outstanding Vintgar Gorge on our second visit to Bled. Penzion Kovac was a great base for our visit to this delightful country.

best place we stayed in a 5500 mile trip round europe!

the host in the hotel greeted us in english spoke briliant english, took us to our room was verry freindley showed us the free saftey deposit box and, minibar, bathroom told us where breakfast was and asked if we would like to use the air conditioning for 5 euros, we took the air con as it was verry hot in the high 30s, they had an information folder in the hotel all the info was writen in english something we didnt allways find comon in europe, the room was exelentley decorated and furnished it was of a at least 4 star standard if not more, the hotel had 2 of its own free carparks, every room in the hotel has its own balcony which is private and not over looking any one else. the breakfast was exelent such a massive choice, the owner/ manager was in the breakfast room he asked us was there anythinge could get us, or cook for us, he was very freindley he told us the weather forecast and asked what our plans where for the day. i would recomend this hotel to any one and i will stay here again on my next trip to Slovenia, this area of slovenia has some fantastic scenery. the only down side was that the bath in room no 4 did not have a shower screen as they probably couldnot find a shower curtain long enough but a half sized glas screen would help, because one almost floods the bathroom to tke a shower

A thoroughly enjoyable experience

We arrived early evening and were given a very informative check-in, complete with a map of how to get to the old town where the restaurants are, together with a shortcut. Sadly we got lost coming back on the first night and ended up taking shelter from the rain in a bowling alley toward the neighbouring village of Lesce. The guy who was on duty went online but still did not know where it was we were staying. \"Loads of people get lost because all the streets look the same,\" he said. He called us a cab which, he was told, would not be with us for over half an hour. So we settled in and had a couple of drinks. None of this was the pension's fault, but I mention this to highlight the helpfulness and friendliness of the Slovenian people. The cab driver arrived and said \"Thank you for waiting for me!\" Ever heard a cabbie say that before? \"Don't worry, I will get you home.\" Breakfast was simply sensational - it was like sitting in someone's living room while the hostess made you freshly prepared eggs in front of you. The choice on offer far exceeded our expectations. the room was superb. I only marked the location lower than everything else because, had it been closer to the old town, we might not have got lost. But I repeat: this was not the pension's fault. Less than half an hour from the airport, all 4 of us highly recommend this place and would happily return again. 10/10

THE place to stay if visiting the Bled/Triglav NP area. Extremely friendly and helpful innkeeper, nothing was a problem for him to do. He greeted us at the front door and provided a detailed map with area eateries upon arrival (all within walking distance). We booked the \"economy\" room, which was in the basement of the house near the \"fitness\" area. It was big, clean, and nice. The room did have small windows. Rooms upstairs looked to have balconies. Wonderful breakfast with freshly made eggs to order, homemade breads and marmalade.

Penzion Kovac er et fint lille sted. Vi havde to overnatningerne der. Desværre lå det eneste 5 pers. Værelse i kælderen lige ved siden af spisesalen. Så vi vågnede hver morgen til lugten af stegte pølser og bacon. Havde det bare været ny bagt brød.
Vi havde vores eget toilet, med det lå ude på gange så om morgen skulle vi forbi spisesalen hvor andre sad og nød deres morgenmad. Badet var et åbent område i forbindelse med en sauna.
Alt var rent og pænt. Den elektroniske check-in gik nemt. Og afstanden til Bled samt indkøb er fornuftig.

A good guesthouse – nothing fancy, but everything necessary was there. There aren’t many parking spots, but everyone managed to fit.
The room was clean and spacious, with a fridge stocked with drinks and air conditioning.
Self check-in was available upon arrival, which was very convenient.
The breakfast was good and filling. There weren’t many tables, but since guests came at different times, there was enough space for everyone.
We stayed for one night on our way to Croatia.
The location of the guesthouse is also good – Lake Bled is quite close, especially convenient for those traveling by car.

リュブリャナから50km弱、車で40分弱でした。住宅地の中にあり日中も夜間もとても静かです。入口隣の機械で市民税の支払いから入室の際の暗証番号の発行まで完結。ブレッド湖までは9km（15分）。朝食の間中、常に焼きたてのクレープと卵焼きが提供されていました、カプチーノ美味しかったです。

This place was quiet and clean already from outside. Easy parking, nice neighborhood.
The bath is a bit outdated, but we'll equipped and clean!!! The bed and pillows are comfortable. The lady at breakfast was kind and helpful. I enjoyed my time!

チェックインは入口横のチェックイン端末で実施。もらっていたメールを見てなくてPINコードが分からなかったが、電話したらすぐに対応してくれて解決。地下の部屋は広くてまあ快適。マイナス点は、朝食のスペースが狭くて、最初に行ったときは満席だったので空くまで少し待つ必要があったぐらい。全体としてはま満足でした。
