Eine Nacht in Friedrichshafen

Wir hatten spontan am Morgen gebucht und ein schönes Zimmer im ersten Stock Richtung See am Ende des Ganges bekommen. Sehr gross und komfortabel, leider über Nacht trotz Klimaanlage sehr warm. Das Frühstück war gut, aber das Personal ist mit abräumen und auffüllen am Sonntag Morgen kaum nachgekommen. Wir waren bereits das zweite Mal hier da uns die Lage sehr gefällt. Und kommen sicher wieder. Vielen Dank für alles.

Grundsätzlich gutes Hotel mit Potential

Sehr freundlicher und angenehmer Empfang. Alle notwendigen Informationen und Unterlagen erhalten.
Das Hotel macht einen gepflegten guten ersten Eindruck.
Beim Tagesabschluss an der Bar leider den bestellten Cocktail nur bestehend aus ein paar Tropfen Sirup und gefüllt mit crushed Ice erhalten. Völlig unbrauchbar. Die Bardame war offensichtlich überfordert damit, weshalb eine Beanstandung aussichtslos war.
Die Bettdecken sind für die Jahreszeit zu dünn und wenig wärmend. Zusatzdecken fehlen. Der Fernseher hatte Wackelkontakt und stellte alle paar Minuten kurz aus und wieder ein.
Das Frühstück war sehr frisch und lecker.

Also der Preis ist schon sehr hoch . Dafür erwarte ich mehr ! Zum Beispiel beim Frühstück! Harte Brötchen kein Lachs zb . Keine glutenfreie Produkte usw. Der Preis ist halt auch sehr hoch wenn man bedenkt das der Bahnhof 5 Meter weg ist und am Vorplatz nur Obdachlose besoffene und Drogen sind .

Fantastic place and very helpful staff

Fantastic place, with excellent all over service and morning restaurant.
The hotel is placed central in Friedrichshafen, and close to everything.
Even Though we were on the train station, you couldn't hear the trains ore any other trafic, so perfect place, if you want to explore Bodensee.
All the Staff are very friendly, speek english and fantastic helpful, if you ahve questions.
We drive electrical car, and it's possible to recharge your car in the basement.

Could & should be better

Our room, 310, felt like a prison cell. It had a balcony with a door at the corner of the room, but only small windows just below the ceiling with very little light coming in. The litghting in the room is LED with no possibility to dim it. This, it is not very cozy.
The staff is very friendly and professional.

Wir waren zum 2. Mal im Seehotel und bewohnten eine wunderbare Suite im obersten Stockwerk. Deren grosszügigen Räumlichkeiten und die top-moderne Einrichtung haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Sie stehen im scharfen Kontrast zur lieblosen Gewöhnlichkeit des Empfangsbereichs. Zu dem passt wiederum die gelangweilte Gleichgültigkeit des Receptionspersonals.
Positiv hervorzuheben sind noch die ideale Lage nur wenige Schritte vom Bahnhof und der Seepromenade, sowie die Tiefgarage, in der man kostenlos (!!) sein Elektrofahrzeug aufladen kann, sofern man das Glück hat, einen (nicht reservierbaren) Platz zu ergattern.

I was given a very warm welcome when I arrived at the SeeHotel. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful with my questions. The room that I was allocated had probably the best view over the promenade and shoreline of Lake Constance that is available from this hotel. (Room 422). Although I only used the restaurant once for an evening meal, the food was cooked very well and delicious. The inclusive buffet breakfast was also excellent, with a large selection of everything that you could wish for, for the first meal of the day. Even hot Bacon, Sausages and Scrambled eggs which in my experience is unusual for a European breakfast which usually only had cold meats and cheeses for breakfast.

The town of Friedrichshafen is compact, mostly modern architecture, and easily walkable from the hotel, with olny gradual slopes, (no steep hills), and with the bus and main railway stations directly outside the hotel entrance, probably the most convenient hotel to stay in, in Friedrichshafen, (in my opinion?).
There is also a free shuttle bus that takes you from the bus station, to and from the Messe exhibition halls, and the harbour.

I stayed for three nights while attending the annual Ham Radio convention at the Messe Exhibition Centre and would highly recommend the SeeHotel as a great and excellent value place to stay.

BIG ROOM with OLD style tiny TV & VERY unfriendly

Room was nice big and lots of empty space but strange NO COFFEE MACHINE – NO KETTLE - NO Iron Board – was told go to fifth floor via small room with one Iron Board there, our Room on second floor had ONE bottle water – NO NOT free or NOT a welcome service as many places – NO 2.50 EUR. Best service Last day in the breakfast room with a very service minded and helpful guy (in practice)(from Vietnam) He will be a goldmine for the hotel if they keep him and sent him to reception area where they need welcoming and friendly tone for check-in/out customers (read non German speaking)to help.
Reception not welcoming and friendly and very slow even there were 4 people to check-us in after 3PM since our room was NOT ready. Wow have you heart about check-out time 10am? And still want RESORT fee to be paid at arrival!
If we compare to the Hight level of price we paid and VERY low service in room etc. we cannot recommend to stay here – best with the hotel was location a short jump from HBF.

Hotel is in a great location, next to the train station, close walk to the ferries, and across the street from the water. In addition, close to shopping, restaurants and a Rewe store. Has a dry sauna & wet (wasn’t working during my stay). Hotel staff friendly and helpful and spoke great English. Breakfast was excellent! I would stay here again!

I am an American and I like many things about the hotel as a tourist. The breakfast is of good quality, and offers a good selection of German foods to try out like the excellent breads, meets, sausages, and cheeses. In addition to more tame options like bacon and eggs. The location is excellent, right next to the main train station, parks, some shopping, and various restraunts. The museum is not too far either. The staff are friendly, have excellent english, and are always helpful. Also, if you are lucky enough to get a room overlooking the lake and park, the view is amazing! I have stayed many times and I can not say enough good things!

Sehr freundliches Personal und umfassendes Fruestuecksbuffet. Das Alter der Zimmer zeigt sich je laenger je mehr. Auch der uralte gruene und teilweise schon schwarze Teppich im Treppenhaus sollte ersetzt werden. Die fehlenden Investitionen in das Interieur fallen v.a. im Vergleich zu den vielen moderneren Hotels in FN zunehmend negativ auf.

Nice modern hotel that was still easy walkable to the “Promenade” and harbor. Breakfast spread has nice selection and includes made-to-order omelettes.
They have their own underground parking garage so we didn’t have to look around.
They only really minor thing I would change: I felt like the room was bright inside during the day, but the lighting at night could have been better. Same for the bathroom, it felt rather dark.

We overlook minor problems during any stay at a hotel. But our experience at this hotel demanded a negative review:
1. The check-in was excruciatingly slow and took an hour to handle very few guests unti our turn to register;
2. The air conditioning in our room did not work and after a 32C/90F day we roasted at night with zero help from the staff, who told us that we had to endure this because the system was old and there was no relief to be given us.
3. There was no telephone in the room to call reception or maintenance. We had to descend from the third floor twice to speak to staff about the air conditioning. The telephones in the hotel had been removed two weeks prior.
4. The internet connection was the worst we’ve seen. The only reception was
in the small bathroom or the hallway immediately adjacent to the bathroom.
5. All of this for an overpriced €188.
6. The breakfast was good - the only bright spot at this terrible hotel.

Two-night stay with my 14-year old. The hotel is in an excellent location, near public transportation and parking which you might need if the hotel parking is full like it was during out stay. Mult-lingual staff were pleasant. Room was clean; breakfast was basic hotel buffet fare provided with accommodations for COVID (masks when getting food, plastic gloves for guests, physical distance encouraged, tables spaced well, some food items like cereal were provided in single-serve containers. I would stay here again.

Wonderful weekend

My experience on Seehotel is two-fold - On one side, I had the best hosting I ever had in Germany, by far! Antonella, at the front desk, provided me with concierge service that would make Mr. Gustav, from the famous movie Grand Hotel Budapest, extremely proud. They even prepared me a secret happy birthday decoration while I was having breakfast. I couldn't have higher thoughts about the quality of work from this hotel employee.

On the other side, but made completely irrelevant by the astonishing professionals working there, the infrastructure could be surely improved. The presidential suite is located on the 5th floor, only reachable by stairs from the 4th floor. The same thing applies for parking, there is not reserved parking space for the presidential suite. I would expect that the room, by its price, would have some minor perks - carrying heavy bags on the stairs wasn't specially pleasant. There's also no luggage carrying service - but this may have been a side effect from the corona outbreak.

Overall I highly recommend the hotel, specially by the people I have met there.

I have never written a hotel review, but on this occasion I feel that it is justified.

Looks nice on the outside and certainly convenient for train station, buses, ferry, etc, but probably won't stay there again. There were multiple room issues: Change of room due to poor WiFi. light bulbs & fridge not working in 2nd room.

Breakfast management was disappointing, with breakfast cereals running out and the same (dirty) serving containers still being used for the following day. No accommodation for gluten free requirements - and unfortunately, the only remotely suitable cereal that I could have eaten was one that ran out and not replenished.

The hotel checkout time policy is 10am was not clearly enough communicated, which resulted in a rather abrasive call to my room from reception at 10:55am, asking when I was going to leave, and in a tone that suggested a complete lack of concern as to why I had not checked out. So the departure was stressful and rushed.

When checking out, I asked to speak the manager, I was challenged with a one word response \"Why?\" as if I had to justify the need to speak with someone in charge.

The manager that I was eventually able to speak with was apologetic for the series of issues, but then attempted to justify the 10am checkout time as appropriate as most of their guests would check out by 10 anyway. I found this a little disingenyuous and revealing

No elevator or helping personnel available at normal working hours, to get to the Suites or fifth floor. How you do with your luggage. The view it’s excellent if you survive to climb up to the fifth floor for the more expensive units of the Hotel. The front desk one person staff, is as cold as ICE, no help at all,maybe only when I told him, he was a Five Star General in Town, so he could help us to find a restaurant, he took the telephone and call to two restaurants. But as cold as ICE. This is my second time in this Hoyel in three years and the concept I had before, now is COLD AS ICE TOO. One smiling face it’s a gift!!!

The location is great. From some rooms you can see the lake. Right across the street from the lake. Cool roof top lounge. You have to return your key every time you leave the hotel (and it’s on a large bulky key ring) so if there is a wait at the front desk, leaving or arriving back can take some time.

Excellent, modern, stylish hotel in a perfect location by the railway and bus station and just across the road from a lovely, bustling promenade a walk from the town centre. Secure underground parking (€12 per night!). Great staff, good buffet breakfast. Everything was pretty much perfect. We stayed five days and loved it.

See hotel is a great place and very conveniently located. The rooms are spacious and clean although ours had an odd smell from the new carpet. You do have to slepp with the windows closed as it is right on the square where the busses park by the train station. The breakfast was spectacular. The service was impeccable. Great hotel experience. We had a view of the lake and a really modern, lovely room. Couple things to make it hit five stars - additional amenities in room (shampoo, conditioner, etc) on day two; tissues in room; and most importantly later check out as 1000 am on a lazy Sunday morning at the beach is way too early. Hotel overall was comfortable and enjoyable. Lake view room was worth it.

Great location but no \"sea view\".

In town for business and had a \"sea view\" room on the top floor. Couldn't really see anything unless you stood up and poked your head through the open window. Room had been freshly painted so smelled a bit. No iron, no coffee making facilities however the room was spacious and comfortable. Restaurant was good for breakfast but gloomy and pretty basic for dinner. Would not dine there again if I had the choice.

Great hotel in a great position close to lake, town and restaurants. We had a Business room with a balcony with a view of the lake. Highlight for me was the staff, lovely friendly efficient and a pleasure to be around. The breakfast was good and as we were on half board the three course dinner was good for the money. On site parking was easily accessible and convient. If you are on business at Airbus Defense and Space it's an easy drive about 10 to 15 mins away.

Absolutely amazing here. Room was great, quiet, mostly comfortable. Really great rate for my 4 nights there as well. I will stay here every time I go to Friedrichshafen, no need to look around. And as a bonus they gave me cute duck that you see in the picture as a check out present. The reception ladies were also quite pleasant!

The hotel is in a great location. Minutes walk to downtown, beside rail and bus (and surprisingly quiet) and Lake Constance outside your door. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and nice bar. Access to roof terrace with table and chairs to views of lake and town and a place to bring your own lunch or wine and enjoy. Wellness rooms on top floor.
Room was very clean, a little too warm and to leave the window open would bring in bugs and outside noise.
If you plan to go, book early as it seems to be filled fast. I will come back.

Business trip hotel

We have stayed in other hotels in Friedrichshafen but this is by far the superior option. Excellent breakfast included, water views from the hotel room, nice restaurants right on the water with great views of the bodensee.
Most importantly, they have wicked fast internet. This alone will bring us back to this hotel whilst on business in the area. Other hotels have internet that we couldn't even connect to our VPN network back at the home office and therefore could not do our work.
Don't settle for second best. Choose SEEhotel.

Nice hotel. One extremely attractive receptionist

We stayed for one night only.

Very tidy, very friendly. Good underground car park and very modern rooms with excellent use of space and USB ports for charging leads. Very close to Friedrichshafen centre for restaurants and cafe's, etc as well as walls along the lake.

Very ideal is the bus exchange just outside the hotel door - we were able to get a bus straight to the Messe to see the vintage car show.

Still, the highlight was the receptionist that checked us in and out, especially with that gorgeous german/american english accent.

A much enjoyed stay.

Challenging to find hotel entrance due to poor signage. We knew we were at the hotel (it was obvious) and could not find entrance or parking until 3rd time around the block. Rather gruff welcome. Noisy neighborhood - room very warm - bar & restaurant ok but service friendly - not a hotel I would go to again though the Bodensee is worth seeing.

Modern unsatisfying hotel next to train station

The SEEhotel is modern and artistically appointed, but was in the end a disappointment. The staff was very helpful and friendly, but the room was uncomfortable. The pillows were too soft for side sleepers and the shower had no hot water pressure. The door to the bathroom was even see-through, which was awkward. Our room faced the central square in front of the train station, which meant that we had busses idling in front of our room loudly. It was unpleasant to open the window and didn't lend itself to a relaxing atmosphere. The small sauna section up on the top floor was nicely appointed and a good way to enjoy some quiet. Breakfast was pretty typical for a European hotel, with the popular addition of a bottle of Sekt. The parking garage was also convenient and cost 10 Euros per night.

Good hotel.... efficient and freindly staff especially at the reception....
An Extra pillow in the room would be welcome !
The lobby gets very noisy at night with loud guests voices carrying up into the rooms !!

Good but not fantastic, nice breakfast.

Internet didn't work in the room. When I informed the staff they seemed disbelieved and did nothing to solve it. Fortunately, I was able get a good signal in the lobby and only stayed one evening.

Perfect stay

Fantastic hotel. Big rooms, clean and comfortable. Perfect location. Breakfast was fantastic. Can't speak highly enough of this hotel. Parking extra but that is to be expected in Europe.
