Staff were very friendly and helpful. The entire hotel was very clean, including the room. Good space, good storage, simple bathroom layout. Everything you need. Breakfast was excellent, and location is perfect to explore both the old town and the water front.
Only reason I gave 4 rather than 5 stars was because our room on the 3rd floor was cold as the heating didn’t work properly, and the toilet had a leak meaning you could hear it dripping at night.
Other than that, great hotel, would stay again, just would ask for a different room.

Stay in Main Hotel, not the annex

First time in Belgrade, the staff were very helpful and very friendly. I would recommend you make sure you stay in the main hotel not the annex which this site directed me too and i had booked. I was advised by family who were already in Belgrade and went to see the hotel to change rooms. I then had to contact the hotel for an upgrade which they gladly did and were very helpful. So beware the cheaper rooms will be in the annex and that area is not as good as the Hotel area. I am not saying the annex is bad, its just further away and not as good. The area has good transport links, the staff are very helpful, generous with their time and do their very best to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is good and has choice. I would recommend to anyone staying in Belgrade.

This was a lovely hotel with a restaurant on site where we had dinner both nights. We loved the breakfast. Parking was limited and approx $20 aud per night.

Only complaint was that WIFI didn’t work in our room but outside room ok.

I wouldn’t rush back to Belgrade - dirty and uninspiring

Belgrade City Hotel is centrally located on Sava Square and is within walking distance of several attractions, eg the new Belgrade Waterfront. It has an old world charm and some appealling touches, eg a front lounge which faces the Square and busy main street with a tram route and yet is quiet. Buffet breakfast was good, though not outstanding and the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was always clean and wel serviced.

Unfortunately I was in the annex, which was rated three star, while the main hotel is four star. So there was no lift, which made hauling my case upstairs and downstairs into a real chore. And, unbelievably, there were no numbers on the room doors. So I had to seek help to find my room.

Hotel was well located for transport and opposite the old railway station. Despite a late (3am) arrival, staff were still avaliable to greet us. We were given a free upgrade however the room we were on looked out onto the main road and the doors didn’t close properly, meaning we were disturbed by traffic noise.

Breakfast was excellent, as were toiletries avaliable in the room.

The staff were very friendly, the room was warm and clean, as well as just enough room for me to live out of for 3 nights.

The breakfast was nothing amazing but was enough for me each morning to have a few pastries, coffee and oranage juice to get me going (there were cooked items too which were nice when I had them).

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Belgrade.

Good value option close to the bus station

If you need a hotel close to the bus station with good value, this is it. The economy room has a good size, even for two people. They have complete basic amenities, also with coffee/tea and kettle. Wifi was working well. There is also a little fridge. The hotel indeed looks very old, but it is not an issue for me.

The 'minus' thing is the cleanliness: there was a bundle of hair on my bed when I came in, so not so convincing but I was too tired to complain or anything. The restaurant for the breakfast has a strong cigarette smoke smell, even through smoking is not allowed inside.

I have been for 2 nights, solo traveling.
I did like very much Maria at the front desk being helpful, friendly, addressing all questions professionally.
I did stay in annex. Bed and mattress was comfortable, room was clean.
Included Breakfast buffet was average with plenty of choices. Good value for the money. Very good for two night stay.
I didn't like: It had only one power outlet available in the room, walls are paper thin but I had good neighbors.

Hotel was a bit difficult for us to find on foot when we first arrived on an airport bus. However, we discovered later that there were multiple bus/tram stops around the corner, so very convenient to use public transportation. Reception staff were very helpful in giving us suggestions and directions. Breakfast was okay; there was a decent selection of hot and cold foods. Lots of restaurants and take out places nearby, and there was a convenience store around the corner for drinks and snacks. Nice big square across the street.
We didn’t care for the room key; it was a big, regular key that was difficult to use. If not mistaken, it also had the hotel name and room no. printed on it.

One gripe,could someone tell the receptionist that the A1 airport shuttle bus does indeed stop at the bus station opposite the hotel and there was no need for me to walk 15 mins uphill to get on board at Slava square!!

However on check out the gentleman who checked out ripped out and charged more than previous night and when queried started raising voice

In effect he spoilt the experience. In spite of liking Belgrade the people the hotel - through his pettiness embarrassed Serbs

Amazingly nice and helpful staff. Just for that, I’m definitely coming to this hotel again.
Location of the hotel is very good (based on my needs and wants) - right across the main bus station, not too far from the airport, and a walking distance from center of the Belgrade (like Knez Mihailova, or Kalemegdan). The transportation the hotel arranged for us (from and to airport) was great.
The whole experience - 10 stars!!

The hotel was in a good location, close to the waterfront and other sites of interest. It was very close to the main bus station.The staff were helpful. There was a good selection of food at breakfast. The hot food was wasnt that great. I used the hotel shuttle service on my return journey to the airport. The driver turned up early and it was cheaper than a taxi. I would recommend this hotel

The only good thing about this hotel is the position, central located. My room did not have any towels , minibar was with leftovers from previous guest, the room smells like ciggarette and was very dirty. Definately not a 4**** hotel, maybe not even 3***. Parking only available if you make a reservation beforehand so be careful. We had to park 800m away and then wake up in the morning to move the car. Terrible. I would never choose this hotel again especially for these price ranges (around 73 euros including bf)

Service from the staff is great. I needed to stay longer then my
Checkout time and they didnt charge me for the extra 4 hours.

About 1 km from the actual main city square so it is a good distance away from too much hustle and noise. Breakfast was good 3 out of the 5 days we had a buffet and then for 2 days we had to order off a menu which was ok.

Hotel is clean .
Lots of places to eat in the city and very cheap and well priced.

Only issue is the wifi is not good.

I will give 5 stars for the Staff, they were very helpful, communicated perfectly in English and extremely friendly. Breakfasts was ok, considering that food in Belgrade is great. Great building and well located, in front of it the city is building a magnificent project called Belgrade Waterfront. It is pretty advanced It may be finished soon. The only thing I didn’t like from the hotel was the cage with parrots, seems sad to see those animals that live so long incarcerated for life in a relative small place with no view of any nature.

3 night stay in Belgrade

Beautiful old building located on a main transport hub for Belgrade. Exceptional value for money, friendly attentive staff and decent (free) breakfasts too. Bird cages in the lobby unusual but not discordant. Double glazing kept most of the construction noise out. Things beyond the control of the hotel: Old (1884 - 2017) main train station closed for good. Savski Trg being completely dug up so trams & some buses suspended. Waterfront under development. Refugee crisis has left thousands of migrants stranded in Belgrade and they congregate in the evenings near the main bus station on the far side of the square. Totally harmless but unsettling given their tragic and precarious situation.

The location is great, you can walk to the Sava River promenade, the fortress, the zoo and the downtown area up the hill. More restaurants than you can make use of int that area, too. There a major intercity bus stop across the street, trolly stop and city bus right in front. With all this you get a bit of noise if your room is towards the front. One night the band playing at the restaurant woke me up. By the time I get my jeans on and got over there, they had quit. Must’ve been the finale :-( it was a nice night for a walk anyway and the riverfront was still hoppin’.
The staff is great, the breakfast lovely, there’s a fridge in the room you can put your milk in (I need that for coffee), a tea pot and instant coffee, too, for that matter. WiFi was iffy, but they had someone working on it. The “gym” was always lock, but not my thing anyway. I’d definitely stay there again!

This hotel is just across the street from the bus station (and old railway station). It is very close to one of the A1 minibus stops to the airport as well. The room was very small, but clean and the A/C worked reasonably well. Because we left before breakfast the hotel even made us a breakfast to take away. It is a close walk to the fortress and the pedestrian area in the downtown. Overall, it was convenient.

Inconvinent safe mounted at floor level, all elecytrical outlets 220VAC, and tiny showerstall with dark mold in corners results in a poor score for this hotel. Excelent breakfast buffet saves it from getting the minimum 1 star. Outlets are that big of a problem as most devices today can operate at that level but my toothbrush and hair trimmer canot.

The main reason for choosing this hotel was the location just in front of both the railroad and bus stations. The restaurant was pretty good and hotel residents received a 20% discount. The big minus was that the annex where I was placed had no elevator and several stairs to climb.

Regular Stay.

Every year that I visit Belgrade I always stay in this hotel as the staff are very friendly. Also it is only a 15 minute walk to the Town Centre and the main Bus Terminus as well as being close to the main Railway Station. Also the trams pass by that take you to the shopping centre and other places like Red Star Belgrade Stadium. The Airport bus A1 also stops there.

Great free breakfast...you won’t go hungry during the day. Quiet. Within walking distance of most landmarks.

Only gripe is that I was in economy annex, and I had to lug my luggage up to the third floor. No elevator there.

The Hotel is OK. The location is very busy , a lot of public transport-Trams and bus traffic.
Experienced power cut while i was there. Wifi was intermittent.
I was roomed in an annex of the main hotel building, no elevator to second floor. No views from the room...faces the main hotel building.
I rate the hotel 4/10. the price was reasonable for the quality of the hotel.
I would return.

One of my favourite hotels

This is a charming classic hotel with spacious rooms and comfortable bed. Reception is welcoming and helpful, with an excellent restaurant. The breakfast menu is extensive and self-service.
It is convenient for public transport, Tram number 2 will take you to the shopping centre, park and fortress,
I shall return as its very comfortable and enjoyable.
