It is stated in Expedia that there is daylight cleaning and the do it every FOUR (4) days. Not even cups for coffee are cleaned.

From my point of view, one double bed is not two single beds together. That is the meaning of double bed in this hotel. Two small beds togueter uncomfortable to sleep.

It can be hot inside but not air-conditioner available. You open the window, mosquitos get it. Complicated situation.

Gym is nice and convenient location. Walking distance from everywhere. Nice reception staff. Overall looks nice and clean place.

The not refundable policy did not allow me to change my mind and go to other hotel.

Great stay

Good location on a main road so very easy to find. Less than 10 minutes walk to Kneza Mihaila and the Belgrade Fortress and surrounds.

Nice check in with Katarina, she offered a Rakija upon arrival which was a nice touch.

The room was extremely clean. The bed was firm but not uncomfortable, and the shower had great water pressure and hot water and didn’t leak out of the shower door so the floor didn’t get wet (sounds simple enough but many hotels can’t get it right!).

Plenty of English TV channels with Serbian subtitles.

Fantastic staff. Lovely breakfast. Very clean and spacious room. No great views, neighborhood is undergoing renovations and has a lot of concrete architecture etc. but close walking distance to castle hill area, lots of shops, pedestrianized areas, bars, and other fancy hotels nearby. Great. Highly recommended

This hotel was a good value, but barely has the amenities for 4 stars. Bed was hard, exit light by door was fluorescent and couldn’t be turned off, shower stall was tiny. Convenient location if you need to park a car.

The Hotel Srbija Garden Ex Garni is located on a very busy street but extremely close to Republic Square, pedestrian shopping area filled with cool bars and fab eateries. Reception was efficient and the staff speak excellent English. The girl on reception was very friendly and supplied me with a map of the area and very clear instructions on how to get to the main tourist sightseeing spots

The main doors lead into the reception area which is bright with its own small bar. Off to the back and a few steps down, is the self-service breakfast area offering all the usual juices, fruits, cold meats, cheese and eggs you would expect from a European hotel.

My room was 1 level up and, thankfully faced the rear of the building. The room was well laid out, bright and spacious, with air conditioning. The room also had a safe, mini bar and tea / coffee making facilities.
Bathroom featured a walk-in shower (no bath) with pristine white towels to hand.

The hotel was busy and all the guests seemed happy with their surroundings.

Taxi!!! Advise staff at the taxi desk (black & yellow check) close by the exit doors as you leave departure hall where you are going and they will provide you with a “taxi receipt” detailing exactly what you will pay. And have cash available, local taxis do not take credit cards. Genuine airport taxis will not accept you as a hire without this receipt.

The only difficult part was getting the luggage to the front door. You can't stop in front of the hotel o you have to walk about 1/2 block to get into it. The breakfast was good, room good and desk staff very helpful with everything.

Nice Hotel, But No View, Smoking in the Lobby

Nice and clean hotel for the price - stayed here twice and am satisfied. Walking distance to Belgrade downtown. Good breakfast, but small breakfast area. Smoking is allowed in the lobby which is connected to the breakfast area and the cigarette smoke and smell is bothersome. Convenient parking in the hotel's basement. Staff is mostly welcoming, friendly, and helpful. WiFi connection is very good and reliable. Minibar has cold drinks. The only drawback is the view - the quiet rooms, facing the backyard, face old and unkempt residential buildings. I haven't stayed in street facing room so I do not know if the noise is a problem there, but those rooms do not have any view either - they face the buildings on the opposite side of the street. The view, and the smoking int he lobby, might be the only reasons why I might not chose the hotel again. Otherwise I would recommend it.

Lovely small hotel in a great location!

Nice small hotel perfectly situated near the walking malls and some of the of the major sights of the city! The staff was friendly and informative. The room (although small) was nicely decorated and very clean. We would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Belgrade.

I really like Belgrade and as I only had a short time I used Serbian Heritage Tours and Snezana provided an excellent overview of history and current day life in Serbia. The fours hours were well spent and covered interesting topics and places.

1) Breakfast: Small room, poorly designed layout. Over-crowded, scarcely room to move in order to get food from serving area. 2) Small room in a very basic design with poor quality furnishings. 3) The surroundings are grim and unattractive. 4) Not good value.

Noisy, ordinary stay at City hotel

Bar/ lounge staff were to be highly commended as they were professional and friendly and service was quick. Hotel room was basic, but not well taken care of as coming into new room some of toiletries were not replaced and package left open. The same thing I can say about room care. Cleaning persons forgot to make my bed the next day and left ordinary cover on chair instead of bed. TV did not function but I couldn't bother to ask reception to help as it was my last night and the only reason I was turning it on is because I couldn't sleep from the all the traffic noise outside. I did know this when I booked that hotel is on one of the busiest streets in Belgrade but from other guest reviews and hotel description , it appeared that it was soundproof but most definitely wasn't . I had tissues stuffed in my ears as I had not slept at all, maybe the rooms not on street like mine ere fine but if you get street rooms, prepare not to sleep .there are definitely more worthier places to stay in Belgrade , I unfortunately chose this for 'family' convenience 'and made a dreadful mistake

Beds were a little on the harder side. Lots of unfinished surfaces and the room seemed empty. The cafe in the lobby was great and the guy who was making coffee did a really good job! Location is really close to knez mihailova st too which has all the best cafes and restaurants as well.

Nice hotel, close to many main attractions.

Weak wireless at our corner room. The ACs in the hotel were somehow set to \"winter mode\" and it was awfully hot in our room, asked to change the mode but it was not possible, instead we were recommended to open the windows but the main street where the hotel is always noisy. Also, there is no separate place for non smokers at the reception area. Tables are just next to each other. Other than these, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

Great price for a great room

We enjoyed the new hotel. It was clean and everything was new. The price was also great. The only things we can complain about are the cleaner leaving our window open after cleaning our room (and us only finding out when we arrived after our day out) and the breakfast. It was acceptable, but if you don't expect a lot from breakfast, it's an ok start to the day. Good location for sightseeing - just ask for a back room (main street is always crowded and busy).

Great location - marketplace a close walk behind the hotel, major sights of a lovely church, Kalimegdan, riverfront restaurants and paths and shopping/cafe district Knez Mijailova very within a 10-15 minute walk. McDonalrds is very close but not sure that's a plus! Bank ATMs and money change nearby. Hotel looked newly renovated and was clean. Staff were helpful and nice. It was a little loud due to street noise and blinds did not shut out all street lights. I used a sleep mask. Air conditioning didn't work well so we were a bit too warm. Room was spacious and nice, clean, attractive. Main beds were very comfortable; sofa bed not so much but OK. Breakfast overpriced and not child friendly. Can eat better and cheaper a short walk away. Would stay there again.

Perfect location

Air con wasn't working at first, but friendly hotel staff promptly accommodated us with a new room, no hassle. Great location as near main city centre, tourist attractions, major public transport and it's located near the river which also means your between old and new Belgrade with easy access. Great wifi. Hotel staff also allowed us to store our luggage free of charge after checkout until we had to catch our bus. Clean with new decor. Great stay, would stay again.

We booked this hotel 3 months in advance. We asked for a non smoking room and was given a smoking room upon asking reception if we had a non smoking room they stated that all rooms are used for smoking/non smoking they just open the windows to air the room.... All our belongs smelt of smoke on our departure.

Great hotel

This is a great hotel, conveniently located very close to the center of town and near popular tourist places so I can visit these places after work.
It’s my fourth visit to Hotel Garni Srbija and I can’t fault it, very friendly and helpful staff, the rooms are very clean and comfortable.
I will definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Belgrade

I stayed at Srbja Hotel from 17th to 20th April 2014. I was there as a tourist with a friend of mine. Convinient location, all seesights by foot, good breakfast, new and modern hotel. Free wi-fi, 20% sale at the hotel' s cafe. Negatives: Damaged shower handset and a hole in a towel.

BAIT AND SWITCH

Dear Sirs,

I am having trouble with a hotel that has charged my card erroneously. I want to have the charges removed. I was charged a fee for my room that was neither listed or agreed too. The charges were 6 times what were originally explained to me twice. I deny these charges fully. I want them taken off of my card immediately.

The charges were explained to me both in English and in Serbian. They did not honor the original charges in either language. My witness to the original charge and the charge that actually came today, is Serbian. So I have this as a fact that I understood all that was explained to me initially and then finally.

Please reverse the charges from the hotel. I will contact Citibank as soon as I reach American soil, February 23, 2014.

The hotels is a cutie in the heart of Belgrade. The staff was courteous, the room clean, the beer cold at the bar that stays open until midnight. The price was excellent and this little boutique hotel deserves its rating of 4 stars. Old complaints about the missing elevator do not count anymore: a month or so ago they installed elevators; there are two of them: one from the parking garage in the basement to the first floor (reception area), and another from the first to the second floors. Everything functioned well and even the Internet connection was fast. There was nothing to make me think twice about this hotel and its services and offers. It is located just a few blocks from Terazije, the main square and street in Belgrade Downtown. It's a short distance uphill walk (perhaps 5 minutes) to the city center. The hotel is peaceful and offers a good night's rest. Although I stayed only overnight to catch the next morning flight to Frankfurt and Washington, D.C., I would recommend this hotel to others. The price included the breakfast, free wireless Internet, and garage parking, and all that for a very decent and competitive price! Awesome.

Belgrade hotel, close to local eatery.

The hotel is located on a very busy and noisy street, however, the rooms are well sound-proofed. There are restaurants with Serbian food a short walk away. If you want more local color, there is afternoon coffee and socializing in outdoor café areas, that is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Shopping is found in these same areas, and completes a very pleasant experience.

The hotel is adequate, very clean, and quiet. The rooms are small, the twin beds comfortable, and the bathroom very small, but ours had a bidet! There is no elevator, however, they are installing one now and that should increase the comfort of their future guests.

The staff answered questions politely and spoke English which was helpful.

Great hotel pity about the noise

Superbly situated hotel for easy access to all amenities. Although the reception is rather small and there's no lift available, the room itself was top quality and modern. Breakfast and Wi-Fi were excellent. The downside is the street noise as the traffic buzzes around most of the night. There were also inconsiderate guests causing a considerable amount of noise between 12pm - 3am in the middle of the night. I would still recommend it regardless of the noise.

The hotel is close to the Old Town, but on a very busy street. The front desk receptionists were extremely helpful and I was very appreciative for that. The bathroom had a funny smell, but the room itself felt clean and big.

Great hotel - book it!

Clear and convenient location. Someone had commented this is really a four star hotel, but because they don't have a lift it is only rated three star. I totally agree. Staff were great but I was not very demanding, so I guess I didn't test them too much. Room was clean, very comfortable and safe, hotel walking distance to most attractions and shopping/eating/drinking strips. Breakfast was clean, fresh and adequate.

Definitely would stay here again. P.S. Loved Belgrade, get there before it becomes overrun by tourists.

Convenient, new, clean, and a good value

This was my first time staying in Belgrade -- I was there for both business and leisure. While Hotel Srbija Garni did not super impress me, I don't have many real complaints either. It has only been open a year, so it is in good shape, which is nice. Nonetheless, everything isn't as perfect as one would expect for new construction, but I suspect that is more a function of Serbia than this hotel in particular. At the end of my stay in Belgrade I spent a few nights in a different hotel, Design Hotel Mr. President, because it was cheaper for those nights and I felt like trying it out. I can definitely say that Hotel Srbija Garni is cleaner, in better shape, and quieter. I would recommend it to others.

Nice place, great location

This is a very nice hotel. The roadside rooms are noisy, so request a courtyard room or bring earplugs. The rooms are well appointed, and the breakfast buffet is great, as is the location - a mere stone's throw from the centre of town and all the action. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended!

A really good hotel within walking distance of all the attractions. The hotel has a modern and attractive design that was very stylish. We had several times help from the pleasant and helpful staff. The breakfast was small but of high quality and tasted excellent. Elevator was missing, but that was not a problem for us. We had a room towards the street Brankova, but this was not any major problems when it was well soundproofed windows.

Great new hotel at perfect location

The hotel was excellent although the front and reception did not look great. This hotel was the best decision I took for the entire holiday. Perfect location (5mins walk to high street) and a great hotel for the price. The staff were great and although the breakfast was innitially \"too basic\", I later found we could order cooked food (eg eggs/ omolete, etc). Everythin was new and the hygene standards were good.

Great Hotel in a convenient location

Came to Belgrade with 2 friends for 3 days of partying. Hotel is in a great location. Close to the Splavi's (Popular river barge nightclubs), main street with restaurants, tourist spots etc. Overall great stay, helpful staff and extremely clean and comfortable hotel. 5 stars!!

The hotel has been remodeled, and the room was great (very clean, extremely comfortable bed). The hotel does not have an elevator right now, so those who have heavy bags might have a problem. The staff could improve customer service.

PROS:

- Brand new hotel
- Young, friendly staff
- Very convenient location, 200 meters away from the best part of the city
- Comfortable room, good size for european standards
- Good connectivity with airport, the bus stops 100 meters away

CONS:

- Street where the hotel is located isn't great
- Sometimes you can hear train's noise
- Breakfast isn't that great

All in all it's very good value for money (105 CHF at night for us)

The hotel is located on one of the main busy streets in Belgrade. It has very small rooms, basic breakfast, and no one makes the bed in the morning. The only good thing is the receptionists, who do their best. Given the high price I paid for the room, value-for-money is poor.
