Mommy and daughter getaway fail

Was pretty good but after the second of our three night stay the staff called asking where we were as check-out time (noon) had passed. Slightly panicky I almost blew off everything we had planned (we were already out) to go back to the hotel, but was told they could reserve me the room for 95 euros for one more night. After the call I checked my reservation, and it said it was indeed for 3 nights, not 2. I called back but the receptionist could not find the third night. I said we could look at it when we got back that night. I was not enjoying my day at all but wanted my daughter of 5 years to enjoy her day so left it at that. Back at the hotel I had found my reservation to show. I was just told that it was a mistake and, ah, they did not call you back? Ah well.

Mind you, I speak French so not a language barrier.

The girls at the bar were very friendly as I needed to keep milk fresh as my daughter drinks it with her medication. (no fridge in the room).

At checkout they almost charged us for a breakfast we didn't have..

Otherwise ok stay but would probably not go back.

Staff need to be more proactive and welcoming. All people at reception came across as indifferent to a guest being there or not. It could be the French culture but surely they don't only attract French guests.

Staff in the restaurant do need to be significantly more communicative. I was sat at a table for 10 min before daring to ask if breakfast was self-service, for example. In the same morning, although well before the end of breakfast time allowance, and halfway through my breakfast a kitchen staff started clearing food away, which made me feel that I cannot help myself with more food.

Reception staff really need to be taught to smile. They didn't make me feel welcome, although they did try to be helpful if I stepped forward and requested something.

They very much made me feel their who training (including language) and attitude was tailored to the French-speaking and French culture market alone.

Cons: tiny room with very small and not too comfortable beds. Tiny \"wardrobe\" space if you can call it that.

Fine if you are staying for a night or two, but not really suitable for long stay due to room size.

Very friendly and helpful staff, and a perfect location for our requirements. My young son enjoyed the games rooms close to reception, and we both proved to each other how rubbish we are at table tennis on our final day! The room was a bit on the small side, but sufficient for our purposes. Breakfast was certainly satisfactory, with proper fruit juices (so many hotels of this class have watery juice), but I'd prefer real coffee to something out of a machine. Would definitely stay there again if we return to Le Havre.

Great for a stopover if catching a ferry.

This hotel is a couple of minutes drive to the ferry port. Rooms are clean and comfortable though not huge. Nice bathroom with good shower. Staff we met were all friendly and helpful. Quick check in. I had paid up front through hotels.com but the Hotel challenged me on this so ensure you have your paperwork with you. It was very quiet in the room. We walked to an area where there are plenty of restaurants within 15 minutes of Ibis. We didn't have breakfast as we left on an early ferry. All in all good value

A nice hotel to shower and sleep

We had a very nice experience with the receptionists.
The room is very small - like the tiniest you could have - but they were clean. The bed was comfortable.
There is plenty of parking space available in the street - free at night only.
Overall a good place to crash i.e. clean and sleep.

Le Harve - give this place a miss

Although the room had everything you needed, it was rather small and not enough room for you suitcase. Still good value for one night. Breakfast was €9.90 but only had a few bits. The area doesn't have much around, some nice restaurants and of course the port. Staff spoke English and were very friendly.

The stay in itself was fine however we has a family went down for breakfast twice and they charged us €60! Our children are 1 and 3! Not sure a Madeleine and a pain au chocolat was worth the €9 each!!

Rooms were nice. Site parking. Staff were not accomadating. Didn't have us in a double as booked, had us in two singles and took 2 hours to sort. About 30-40 minute walk from beaches. Husband was injured In bathroom- floors are super slippery- and no one could help us or take details because manager was on break. We waited 45 minutes after being told 10 and left.

Good central location.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was a good central location being just a short walk from both the railway station and the Brittany Ferries terminal. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the food in their restaurant was excellent. Two minutes from the hotel was a tram stop from where you could be whisked down to the beach and promanade.

Comfortable and friendly hotel close to ferry port

Easy check-in with friendly multi lingual staff on reception. Room clean and comfortable for a budget hotel. Underground car parking was convenient, but lights were on an automatic timer with no information given either prior to parking or in the parking area itself that there we're push button switches on some of the pillars - could have been mounted on luminous backgrounds.
Breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety, but very disorganised.
Overall, for the price, comfort and location our experience was positive and we would stay again.

Expected of a Budget Hotel

Everything was fine with the hotel, although we were not in it much. Since we wanted to spend most of our time in Deauville it was a little far and the bridge was not free (although beautiful). It is fine if you want to be and stay in Le Havre, but a little far from Deauville-Trouville. No real complaints though!

Breakfast lacked selection of meats: Evening meal not brilliant: Mussels not fresh (frozen)
chicken meal - bland & tasteless. Room & Beds good: Hotel clean and smart.
Horrendous mix up at end with hotel bills and overcharge: tried to charge for evening meals we did not have.
Underground car park: - make sure you park in the Ibis places as garage used by other people. Hotel staff had said to park downstairs but not warned us off the parking places and the lights do go out very quickly. One of our group moved his car for better light and left his wifes coat on the floor: coat never seen again.
Generally a good hotel for city or ferry but eat out !!

Hotel IBIS - Le Havre

A good value for money hotel located close to the heart of Le Havre. Restaurant/breakfast facilities very good and can usually park outside free of charge after 6pm. Hotel also has a secure car park which is chargeable. If you want to exploer Le havere on foot the Hotel IBIS is a good location with friendly staff.

Surtout si vous êtes assez pressé, n’allez pas au restaurant de l’hôtel, les deux serveuses et le serveur sont constamment derrière le bar. Ne regarde pas si nous avons fini, il faut tout le temps les appeler le service est très très long.

Seul petit bemol: chambre avec 2 lits simples qui etaient cote à côte (= lit double) impossible à séparer vu la configuration de la chambre et drap plat au lieu de drap housse ce qui a fait que le surmatelas glissait du matelas.
