To start with, please keep in mind that we are talking about a 3 star hotel. I would NOT recommend going in high season. We were lucky to go at the start of low season where the hotel was not too busy. Positives: Very nice pools, one with a swim up bar. It Located on a beautiful stretch of beach with many beach chairs and umbrellas available. Not so for the main pool area. Very few umbrellas available. Nice gym and games room. The buffet food options were better than the other two restaurants. The Coconut Grill between the beach and the main pool was also good for mid day meal. The staff was irregular. Some or super nice and attentive, others were less so. The main contra in this hotel is the actual rooms. They are a disaster with a desperate need of renovations. They have renovated a few rooms, basically on the ground floor. Such a peak at a superior king which looked much better with amenities like a small fridge and coffee maker and new furniture. Also more spacious. We were on the second floor. The tiny dresser's doors wouldn't slide opened and closed, there was no closet door. Everything is cement! The door to the bathroom is a sliding door which was off kilter and the shower door didn't close properly, so there was a puddle of water on the floor after every shower. I asked to see a renovated room and was told mine was a renovated room. ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE! Couldn't believe it! Sent 2 emails that were NEVER answered and given an excuse that they were sent to Florida HQ.

This is a three-star property on a five-star beach — the nicest in Antigua. The food is excellent, the staff is excellent, and the pools are beautiful. The pool bar is fun, and the entertainment is pretty good as well.

Where do I start? On arrival there was no one at the front desk. Waited about 15 minutes, I received a key on a chain for my room. The room looked like it hadn’t been touched or cleaned in three decades. Cracked tiles all over. Dirt and residue in the grout of the tile. Don’t even get me started about the bathroom. GROSS. I had to wear my flip flops every time I showered. So dirty. The shower curtain …. Ugggh so gross with mildew and stains. On day four…. I went to front desk to get fresh towels. They never came. I went down three times. Finally at 8pm I received ONE fresh towel. There was nothing opened for food when we arrived. They have no store with snacks or waters or anything. Just a small gift shop that claims they are open at 9am but never opened until after noon and closed by 3pm. (The gift shop didn’t sell snacks or waters). They had set times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had traveled a long time and they had nothing to offer us when we arrived. They told us we had to wait until 6:30 when the buffet opened for dinner. WHAT?!?! It was 3pm. We went down to the pool to get a drink. The bar closed at 3;45. The outdoor grill was closed. It was absolutely mind boggling. The food was gross. They had little to offer. The beach had trash everywhere. Cigarettes thrown all over the property. They just don’t take pride in their property. Very disappointed. Never again

Wife and I stayed for 5 nights room and cleanliness were poor. Had to always ask for fresh towels because the room only gets cleaned when you leave. food was lacking in variety and Quality that was provided The pizza Factory was amazing . The best thing about this resort was the Beach Best Beach in Antigua by far.

Fantastic beach! Worry-free vacation. Everything you need at Jolly Beach Resort. Several vendors on the beach to purchase sarongs and beach stuff. Had a foot massage and swam with turtles with Scooter Snorkeling. Paid an extra $50 USD for lobster dinner - well worth it. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay. The beach is amazing and the resort is a 3 star as described. It had everything we needed for a great stay. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Food was decent. Price was very fair for our trip. We felt safe, no issues. We will probably stay at Jolly Beach Resort again.

Left the resort on 4/19. My wife and I traveled here to celebrate our 23rd Anniversary! All I can say is “Don’t Stay Here” Hear me Don’t stay here! The only thing this resort has that is keeping them open is the beach. It is beautiful but you have to really look for a decent beach chair. Most of the chairs should have been replaced years ago.
The pictures you see online are NOT what this resort looks like in 2026. All sites should request more up to date pictures.
The room is horrible! They are old, outdated and need immediate attention asap. The bed takes up all the space in the room. They don’t have refrigerator , they give you an ice bucket but there is no ice machine nor no bottle water. The shower is big enough for one person ONLY. When you step in you can barely turn around. They only provide one power outlet with the others being European fit.
The front desk staff has attitude. They are not friendly at all. You have to almost beg for towels. We asked for 2 extra face towels, they gave them but as soon as we left the room, housekeeping came in our room, got the two towels back. When I reported it to front desk, the girl didn’t even look up at me. All she said was I will speak with housekeeping. They are very understaffed and nonchalant of their guests.
Food was Okay!! Nothing to brag about. OMG the Pizza Shack. Tell me why you have to make reservations at 7am in order to eat here. We spent most of our time away from the resort just to make the best of or trip.

The property has beautiful views but the property itself is outdated. First room that I checked into had an A/C busted line and I had cloth duffle bag which my clothes got wet and some damaged. The second room they put us in the door wouldn’t lock, had to pull the security latch and prop a chair there at night, the bathroom door wouldn’t close and was off the hinges, the hotel phone wouldn’t work, the A/C was dripping on to the nightstand, they only had one American outlet…the rest were European. It was very difficult to get clean fresh towels and we were told they only do housecleaning once a week. No ice maker at the facility.

We stayed for 6 nights with our 2 teen children. We booked 1 separate Superior rooms with 2 Queen beds. Rooms were clean. Small bathroom. It was fine for 2 people, but if we squeezed 4 into one room, it would've been very tight. We had a mini fridge and coffee maker in our room. Buffet was good. We enjoyed the daily menu change and always found something to eat. Nobody in our family went hungry. Staff did not go out of there way to be overly helpful, but they did help if asked. Took us one extra day to get extra towels, but it was fine. The beach is so beautiful and makes this resort better. The resort is tired and could use some upgrades, but we enjoyed our time there.

Great beach and location! Staff was friendly and accommodating. After seeing several reviews that weren’t great, I was worried. The rooms are clean and had everything we needed. Food was a little boring after several days but we ate out a few times, so it didn’t bother us. The beach was great, calm waves. 2 pools! No entertainment to speak of, which we were disappointed about but there are a few places within walking or driving distance that we found that had music at night.

I loved my stay at Jolly Beach, wish there were more activities on the resort for free. Overall had a great time. Beaches were beautiful, food was pretty good after day one. Love the location, it seemed to be right in the center of everything. Not too far from most excursions. The staff were extremely friendly and nice.

The beach at this hotel is amazing. Large with lots of seating. The hotel is old and outdated. Rooms are small. When we arrived, there were no blankets on our beds, only a sheet. We were able to get blankets from the front desk. The AC unit is extremely loud. Food was okay. Bar ran out of beer every day. Judith is the best hotel employee that we met. She greeted us every morning for breakfast with a smile and she also sings during breakfast. Overall, the hotel is okay. Service was average. Some staff were very helpful; some were not helpful. Room is only cleaned for an additional $10/day. Gym equipment is extremely old. They have 2 treadmills, only one was working and it didn't sound good. They have 3 bikes - all of which were broke. They do have some free weights. No towels or water in the gym. Wifi is availabel but very slow.

All I will see is that if you are looking to a beautiful beach jolly beach is just that! If you want that beach to be accompanied by great food and decent rooms then jolly beach resort is not for you. I have been to many hotels ranging from 3-5 stars and let me tell you how this place gets 3 stars is beyond me. The staff is rude, you don’t get your room cleaned, you have to stalk them for towels, the power went out 3 times and no one does anything about it. I understand that you get what you pay for and this was the lesser of the all inclusives but oh boy it’s not like it was free. So if you like to feel clostrophobia while on vacation then the rooms will work for you. But remember the beach is beautiful. But also remember there are 300 plus other beaches that probably have better resorts.

If you’re looking for a five star luxury resort…this ain’t your place. But if you’re looking for a mostly clean albeit tired resort, give this place a look. We were recently here for five days and had a very enjoyable time, although upon arrival we were pretty disappointed with our choice and considered leaving to another resort. We decided to stay, and by the time we left we decided we would return.

The good: the beach is fantastic, and the pools, while old, are fine. There isn’t much in the line of nightlife; I was fine with that, while it may disappoint others. The buffet for all meals is basic and mostly unexciting. There are always good choices for salads, cheeses, etc. Breakfast had an omelet station and your typical selection of breakfast items. Lunch and dinner were always basic. There was never a time we left a meal hungry, but we also never left impressed.

The bad: the place is tired. It’s owned by the government, and upgrades and maintenance aren’t a high priority. The employees spend most of their time fielding complaints, so they’re loaded for bear when you approach them; if you treat them with a little respect and some humor they warm right up. The rooms are basic…mine was fine, but I heard complaints that things were broken in other rooms.

If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable place to escape the weather…give this place a shot. It’s worth every penny. If you’re a traveler who expects 5star accommodations and pampering, this is NOT for you.

I dont even know where to start. This resort was super dilapidated, the bathrooms are horrible and super outdated, the buffet was ok. The pool was ok. The chairs to seat down on the beach are old and broken the coffee shop is not really a coffee a shop. Dont expeted pastrys or a nice cappuccino or icea cream, the have regular coffee and regular milk.
Another thing is dont expect your room service to come to clean your room they do it every 7 days!! And ofcourse i was not expecting a 5 start hotel treat, but this was a little too much!
The staff is not very friendly neither. However the beach was amazing!!! But i will not stay here never again!

One Star hotel/resort with a five star beach. Skip the hotel but visit the beach while on the island staying elsewhere. Food options were extremely limited and for an all inclusive not always available. Staff was extremely disinterested in service. Hotel is very very dated and in need of repair. We left three days early as even the beach couldn’t make up for the regrettable hotel and service.

Very nice hotel, with incredibly beautiful beaches, but there is a big problem with the food — you always have to stand in line for 20–30 minutes just to get a cocktail or something to eat. The staff are friendly, but there simply aren’t enough of them for the number of guests.
The food is tasty (if you manage to get something), but for the only restaurant you need to come at 6:00 a.m. to register for a 7:30 seating. The selection is very limited, but you won’t go hungry.
The beach makes up for all the shortcomings!

As far as I could tell there was no spa. The front desk fails to inform you of where things are located and what hours of operation they are. Finding the hours of the restaurants was something I had to figure out on my own. The people that gave out beach towels were very inconsistent they weren't there at a regular scheduled time. So exchanging your towel was more of a hit or miss. The room was clean but very outdated and very small. I had expected that because I had actually booked one of the smallest rooms. I really love the food there. I'm a picky eater and there was something that I really enjoyed at every meal. The bar service was very quick. They could have done much better when it came to coffee service. All they offer is black coffee and some basic cream. The beaches are very clean. The beach chairs could use a freshen up. The grounds were easily accessible to everything I wanted to do. The resort is mainly couples and older crowd. The polls were a perfect temperature for swimming.

Resort is very outdated lots of improvements can be done to the property. Not a lot of food option. Food was not good. Lipstick stain on glass in the restaurant. No housekeeping, staff did not even come to empty the bin. Most of the staff were rude or appear to be frustrated. No bottled water. No access to food or refreshments certain times of the day. Hotel needs serious updating and maintenance but we knew this going in but chose because of beach and pools. Honestly I would not return until updates have been done. Staff friendly was was hit and miss but in general average service. We survived the short 4 day stay but if I had been there any longer I would have been sad. In short you get what you pay for.

King room tight space shower very small no housekeeper until day 6 or 7 got bitten by bed bugs or mosquitos first night housekeeper sprayed baygon next day. Staff helpful. Beach beautiful best part of stay food was good but get to buffet early as food goes quickly and some items may not be topped up. Long lines for drinks, other venues, or reservation sold out when i got there. All inclusive hotel full no need to be short on food.Overall Disappointed. Very old hotel 1 Star rated. Entertainment 5 star. Best part was beach if not i would have left.

The beach is absolutely beautiful! The swimming pools are very nice. The grounds are very well maintained although there are areas that need to have outdoor lighting restored rather than abandonning the fixtures. Areas around the ground floor patios need refreshing. The staff is very friendly however service is slow. The resort is older but in general it is in reasonable repair. The rooms all need to be remodeled. There is no microwave, mini-refrigerator or in-room coffee. Overall our stay at the resort and on the island was very good. Our pre-arranged taxi service was excellant and puncturial.

Where should I start this horrid revelation of a review at? The loss of power, wifi, water and no food. Traveling as a solo female and have travelled many times solo prior. This place is comparable to the Shawshank Redemption of motels. This IS NOT A RESORT. This place is owned by the government and they do not maintain this hell hole. The only thing pleasant there was the staff and the view and that DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FRONT DESK STAFF. No communication. Management just laughed at the issue that had been going on for days. I arrived to this. Just “you’re holding the line from others checking in” to multiple people requesting information about the whereabouts of water, food and electricity. Had to sleep with the doors open to get air. Was ate completely up by mosquitoes. Horrible beds, might as well slept on the floor. Disgusting bathrooms. There was no water to even drink. Walked to the beach to clear my head, was came at by everyone on the island selling this that or the other. That is not a protected resort. I had to walk to a bodega to charge my phone in order to call Expedia to get tf out of this hell hole. DO NOT STAY HERE. Please!! If you want to
Enjoy any portion of your vacation, I beg of you, DO NOT STAY HERE. You would be better sleeping with the animals on the beach.

The resort was nice but do not expect a five star resort. The room was clean but had to ask the front desk for fresh towels after two days since there was no room cleaning until we asked for fresh towels. The room needed some repairs as the door handle was very loose and the sliding doors (bathroom and patio screen door) were difficult to slide as they are old and the track is not in the best condition. The beach was very nice and the food was good. It was a bit frustrating that the only restaurant besides the buffet place was booked very quickly. Had to wait in line in the morning to secure a reservation for the evening so you had to get up long before the reservation desk opened to stand in line. We stood in line for a half an hour and the person in front of us went up to the counter and it was fully booked so she and us and the rest of the people behind us missed out. They need a better system. Also, the majority of the staff seemed irritated and bothered if you asked them anything. They just didn’t seem happy which I don’t expect every one to be happy all the time but it was noticeable that most of the staff have the impression that they didn’t want to be there. Not sure if it’s like that at other resorts there. We made the best of it and it seemed after I talked and joked and tipped the staff, their mood became a bit better.

I go on vacation with family every year so we decided to go to Jolly beach resort this year in Antigua. First and foremost I love the staff, very nice people pleasant and welcoming our first night there going to bed the lights went out, from there no electricity for two days the second day we had a cold shower rooms was very dark we had to shower early before it get dark. We have to have flashlights dinner I really can’t complain about the food it was great there was a lot of food. We couldn’t contact anyone home because our phone died so we had to go to supermarket close by to charge our phones. They didn’t clean the rooms unless you asked for cleaning and you have to pay $10 for each cleaning. Overall I was a little disappointed but situation happens sometimes.

I would not recommend this property to anyone.
Everything is broken.
AC dont work. TV don't work. WiFi only work when you are in the lobby and even then it go in and out. Food is total garbage. I have never been so disappointed in a vacation spot as this one. Water dripping on your just walking to your room. Entry door, door to bathroom, sliding door to the balcony and mosquitoe screen doors all broken.
I must say the beach area and staff where amazing..

The “Beach” is the best part of the stay. The resort is extremely outdated and needs to be updated like yesterday!!! The staff wasn’t attentive like most resort I stayed at but the wasn’t rude either. If you’re looking for a place to relax & get your amazing tan “Jolly Beach” is it.
FYI, it’s mostly couples ages ranges from 50 and up!

The rooms are too small, only one bar of soap was given to bathe and wash hands, the food was average and there should have more bars available around the surroundings because the lines were too long to stand to get a drink.

Plenty of pool and beach seating, it is a solid 3 star resort, nothing bougie- but my husband and I had an amazing time! Food is good, beach is clean and gorgeous. Our one complaint is the fluctuations of the shower temperature while showering, sometimes it stayed warm but sometimes it went to cold then hot. Sometimes it’s hard to get new towels too, but for the price we managed. We stayed in a standard king room.

Comfy hotel, but needs some updating. Pool was lovely and right at beach which was nice to walk. Check in was odd. You did it yourself. Could have more personal approach, but found that it was now government run so probably not enough staff. Beautiful location makes up for any shortcomings.

This property is what you pay for however I feel I spent way too much for what it was worth. I stayed here for 1 week. The food was average, they ran out of certain alcohols during my stay, there was no hot waterto shower and was not aware you had to pay extra for housekeeping services . I had ordered take out one night and had animals enter into my room via a large hole behind my toilet, the staff was rude and the locals felt they could just hang out on the property smoking cannabis all day. No security to reinforce this.There are so many other things I could point out but this resort needs to be renovated because the only thing it has going for it is the beach ocean and pools. I would never go back.

Overall the resort is fine. Very limited options for alcohol (well rum & vodka, one beer on tap, crappy wine). There is a grocery store about a 5 min walk away that has a full selection so worst case you stock up there. The bar staff were open to refrigerating bottles of wine for us as well.

Being gluten free, eating was difficult! Breakfast was good- omelet bar and fruit were always available. But lunch and dinner there were very limited choices, usually rice and veggies.

There is also only hot drip coffee available at the resort. However, there is a restaurant right in the Harbour/ marina called Fat Urchin that has an espresso machine with lattes and cappuccinos!

Beach was amazing!! Not too crowded, always somewhere to sit and beautiful sand. There are always clean beach towels available.

Overall, it’s a good deal for the cost. But if you’re picky like me or have diet restrictions you might want to hit the grocery store or eat off premise for meals.

Definitely recommend doing a snorkeling excursion Mystique. The staff were amazing and it offered great views of the island with plenty to eat and drink!

Beach is spectacular, sand is soft, and water is picture perfect. Plenty of lounge chairs to relax in on the beach. Hotel needs some major updating and repair. We experienced a power outage, and loss of water for a some time while we were there. Some staff were wonderful, helpful, and friendly. The other 1/2 appeared very unhappy in their work and not very motivated to accommodate guests.

Room was fine large king bed. Beautiful beach. Food was adequate but lots of breakfast items lacking as ran out. The grill for lunch is nice but be prepared to queue for quite a while. The al la carte is nice but again you have to queue before 7.30 am to get in. We had a power outage for 2 days and the communication was none existant. The staff some are friendly and helpful, some aren't. Antigua has become very expensive so this is a basic all inclusive but its one the most affordable

I recently stayed at Jolly Beach Resort in Antigua for four days and had a very disappointing experience. I booked this resort based on many positive reviews, as I usually rely on other people’s experiences when choosing where to stay, but in this case, the reviews did not reflect reality at all. The resort is very outdated and in need of major renovations, and it does not match the expectations shown online. The food was repetitive and underwhelming, especially breakfast and lunch, which felt like the same meals every day. Even the themed dinners lacked authenticity and variety—for example, the “Asian” night did not reflect real Asian cuisine at all. Because of this, I ended up going to local restaurants, which actually had much better, more flavorful food and became one of the best parts of my trip. The biggest issue, however, was the staff. Many were rude, unhelpful, and not welcoming. We were not properly seated at times, had to get our own utensils and cups, and received attitude when asking simple questions. On our last day, there was a power outage that was handled very poorly, with no communication, no updates, and no apology from management—even at checkout. Overall, this resort is overrated, poorly managed, and not worth the money. I would not recommend it at all.

The beach and pools were beautiful and clean. The rooms were dirty. There were hairballs and dust everywhere. Did not want to go barefoot in the shower. Breakfast was good but crowded. Lunch options were very limited. And food took a long time. We stayed 3 nights and could not get a reservation at the pizza restaurant because they had no room for the group of 7 of us on any night which was ridiculous. Many of the tourists there you could tell were very cheap and trying to save pennies. So they probably booked the pizza place in advance every night they were there. We just wanted the opportunity to eat there one night. Oh well. Some of the staff were nice, but most didn’t want to be there and were rude to me. I tipped a lot so not sure why. Also do not get a pedicure. My friend got a pedicure and the woman took 2 hours to do a sloppy job, leaving her with nail polish all over her toes. Anyway I’ll be visiting Antigua again but not Jolly Beach. I’d rather pay more for better food and more hospitable service.

Resort was outdated, staff was not freindly, would not say hi or even ask you if you wanted a drink at buffet, sometime the seat you, other time they say go find a seat. food ran out quick not many options for food, beach was very nice, pools one was green and dirty they add alot of chemical and it clear up, other pool was fine food and snack bar service very very slow, liquor option was the very cheapest you could have, no captain smirnoff or any american mid shelf liquor avalible.

Amazing beach, but be aware that it is public, so vendors are out & about. They are polite & will move on, but in the area by the bar & burger grill, they bombard you.
Shout out to Neil at the Long bar. He’s a great guy & is always smiling.
The ladies in the towel room are also friendly.
Some of the other staff could take notes!!
The tour desk seemed to be hit or miss.
If you want to make dinner reservations, get to the tour desk around 6:30 or 7 am.
Buffet was good, plenty of options.
The rooms are dated, but we weren’t in the room much anyway.
If you want daily housekeeping ,you have to call & request it, but it’s $10 per visit. We only stayed 5 nights, so didn’t feel the need.
Go with an open mind & have fun!!

The dining is limited and rooms are small, with very minimal amenities (I did not have a refrigerator in my room). Also, it was a bit silly that I had to take the ice bucket all the way to the bar to get filled instead of having a closer ice machine. The beach is very nice and Long Bar is nice. The drink options are just really limited and food was limited as well.

This is a one star property. The staff is not Jolly and the property is not at all as promoted. There are significant maintenance issues along with terrible food. The only good thing is the beach but the chairs are dirty and worn. The rooms are awful and most a/c units don't operate properly. The bars are under staffed and you will wait in long lines for food and drinks at pool bar.

My experience at Jolly Beach has been my least favorite places I’ve ever visited, whilst the location of the property itself was great the service of the Food and Beverage staff was not pleasing or friendly with the exception of a few servers and literally a couple bartenders. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. The cleaning of the rooms should be included, its very unsatisfying to come back to an unkept room especially on vacation, the maintenance of the resort is not being maintained since we were without electricity for an entire night making it incredibly difficult to get rest during the night due to the heat in the room. From my experience no guest should ever know when there is a problem with any establishment there were no back up generators to provide power to the resort, it was even impossible to get hot water for tea, ice for juice or water and no water in the room to shower. I can’t say that I will return to Jolly Beach but the island I will revisit.

The rims were not that clean. The air conditioner did not work couple days. We had no water and no electricity. Definitely not what we expected. Pictures made it look way better. The food was only fair. Definitely not worth rating.. when you go on vacation, you expect to have rest and relaxation. We were hot in the room at night and when the electric and water doesn't work, that's not good.. also didn't feel it should be necessary to wait forever to get a drink at the bar due to short staff. Will never be back
