Just finished a 17 night stay at The Palmery. Excellent value compared to others I have stayed at in the area and the pool access rooms are great. All the staff are extremely helpful and welcoming but a special mention for the friendly breakfast ‘egg man’ and the ‘Bellboy’ Bird who was brilliant!

An OK hotel.

The 1st room we had was not what I had booked. They did move us after the 1st night.
We had booked a swim up pool suite. Very tired looking rooms with a lot of wear and tear.
Access to the pool itself wasnt pleasant due to a lot of loose rubble, very dry, patchy grass and you couldnt just sit into the pool you had to walk accross other rooms patios to get to the steps to get in and out of the pool.

We had friends stay in Deluxe swim up pool rooms which in my opinion were newer and much nicer with better access to their pools.

Maintenance of the hotel wasnt great. If it was metal, it was rusty, if it was wet, it was mouldy, if it was wood, it was chipping away.

Breakfsat wasnt the best either. I had it twice and only had the croissants, as the thought of eating 24hr old rice that was dry and crunchy isnt really my style.

Location is decent enough to be close to Kata beach and local shops restaurants and as always there is a 7-11 close by!

Staff were ok. I cant say anymore as they were not rude but they were not overly friendly either.

This place was amazing! The lobby and the room were so beautiful and clean. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. They knew we would miss breakfast one day, so they made us breakfast boxes to go. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had many options. We also ordered dinner twice from the hotel restaurant and both times they were so delicious. I will recommend this place to everyone!

The Palmery Resort was wonderful.
The lush gardens with hedges as privacy screens, frangipani, jasmine and palm trees blended seamlessly into the surrounding mountain views. The outdoor areas including the pools are maintained so lovingly by the hotel groundskeeper. As I did my early morning yoga on our verandah I saw him cleaning the pool outside our room every morning around 6am. The sweet creatures including geckos,birds, cats, snails and butterflies make the outdoor areas come to life. They are shy and don't come into the room. From the grounds there's views of The Big Buddha on Nakkerd Hill.

The staff are friendly, warm and helpful. They speak English and helped to answer any questions about the resort, Phuket and Thai life. Upon arrival the staff take care of your luggage and seat you in the foyer with a purple pea juice and cool cloth. Check-in was easy and immediately we felt at ease.

The room was spacious and clean. We had the pool access room where lounge chairs and tables allowed for private relaxation poolside. The bathroom is clean and well proportioned and equipped with a shower, both handheld and rain, with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap. There is a bathtub with bath gel and the full sized window near the bath can either be opened entirely or closed for privacy. Bathrobes are provided as well as slip-on shoes. The towels are clean and soft with plenty of racks to hang them on to dry. The Palmery also provides pool towels.I did a TT review

Hotel notes.

We liked staying at the Palmer. The rooms were clean and quiet. There is a 7/11 and pharmacy few minutes left of the hotel. The massage places opposite were reasonable. Going right there was a laundry place 50 baht for 1 kg. 5 mins going right from hotel, there were 2 nice restaurants. Curry highway and Thai restaurant next to it, both had vegetarian options. The hotel shuttle was really good. 11am, 1,3,5 pm they pick up and drop off in front of kata beach or edge of karon beach. From Karon there is Bangkok bank if you want internal cash withdrawal. For breakfast some days there were limited vegetarian options but you can ask chef to make something.

Ausy the day manager was so helpful and understanding when there was a discrepancy with my booking via Wotif from Australia,Song and the other shuttle bus driver where helpful and considerate,Mo and all the girls for room service where highly professional I had a very comfortable enjoyable stay at the Palmer’s,highly recommend this hotel.

the grounds were OK, the bed lumpy, the room old, the floor slippery, easy to scratch your legs because of the bed configuration. The restaurant and reception was exposed to the outside, a very unpleasant dining experience. the shuttle was an old Toyota with badly made back seats, rusty steel with our backs exposed to raw metal no padding. Limited coffee and tea only one cup each per day.

I have been staying at this hotel since 2014. After 2021, the hotel has noticeably deteriorated in its cleanliness; the territory, lobby, pool, restaurant, and especially the breakfast dishes are dirty. You may be willing to put up with it for the bargain price, but for me this was the last visit. It's a shame to see how this once great hotel is deteriorating. I don’t have enough words and nerves to describe how much everything has changed and not for the better. The breakfasts have become simply terrible, barely warm, almost cold, the menus are not tasty; Eggs or omelettes are fried simply disgusting. Non-smoking rooms next to smokers, which simply poisons life when you leave your room to the pool and are forced to inhale the smog from all sorts of rubbish from the next room. Broken bar counters on the hotel premises make the appearance terrible. I love animals, but a large number of hungry cats on the territory does not make your vacation complete because you see these unfortunate cats and have to feed them. I don’t want to write anything more except that this hotel needs to radically think about everything that I have listed.

From the check-in process which included a complimentary beverage, to the pool right outside of our room, to the breakfast buffet, everything at this hotel was extraordinary. It's enough off the beaten path that it's not incessantly noisy, but it's also a short walk to the food stands, great restaurants and the beach. When we had difficulty securing a ride to the airport on January 1st, the hotel staff went above and beyond and personally drove us to the airport for the same price as the cab would have been. We would not have made our flight out, otherwise.

Palmery is such a beautiful place. With multiple pools per block makes it really nice as it never gets crowded. It's a wakable distance to the beach as well as shuttle service is offered multiple times throughout the day. I did the breakfast option and i was not disappointed. I would stay here again.

Beautiful resort but needs some improvements

Lovely ladies and gents at reception. Check-in could not be done before 2pm even though we stayed for a week. Welcome drink was amazing. Breakfast options were ok and food was average. Bath and sink does not hold water in so difficult to shave or bath (room 3104). Room service at no extra charge. Huge let downs: repair shop close to main pool which meant you listened to banging etc whilst trying to relax at the pool; cleaning team was biggest let down. Rooms aren't cleaned that well. Pools are lovely and maintained. Shuttle service to the beaches are a plus.

Tired but ok for the price

Staff are friendly and the room was spacious. The hotel has a lovely reception but the room was a little tired. We had a suite which was nice but the design made it very dark. The maid service is late in the day and a little lacklustre! Overall enjoyed it but wouldn’t repeat. The resort is rather scruffy. Breakfast was good. Direct access to the pool was nice. Small resort with villa style accommodation just over 10 minute walk from the beach.

We stayed for 6 nights in a pool access suite. Room was good and spacious, it wasn't luxurious but it didn't lack anything either. Pool access right from your own yard made the whole holiday feel extra relaxing and effortless. Atmosphere in the resort is very relaxing and staff is extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast was ok and they even prepared omelettes/eggs and waffles freshly for request.

There is a shuttle bus to the beach but we didn't end up taking it even ones as the walk is short and it's a nice street leading to the beach with lots of restaurants, bars, massages, motorbike rentals etc. Chai Thaifood became our go-to spot.

Would definitely stay there again!

The palmery has went downhill since covid .
Rooms not cleaned properly , breakfast was more suited to lunch ie ... noodles , rice , mashed potatoes , roast potatoes .

Every other day we had to ask for toilet paper and tissues .

Staff not friendly , restaurant dirty , all around the coffee machine , toaster , walls dirty with cobwebs .
Lots of flies in restaurant, not a pleasant hotel at all .
I would not recommended it at all , alot of British customers were complaining to the management on daily basis ..

Not a four star hotel anymore , more like a two star ..

I could go on and on with the problems in this particular hotel .

The Hotel itself was wonderful. Top marks across the board but the severe mismanagement under the current General Manager is a mess and masively increased our expences by their incompetence.

Hotel staff hardly spoke any English at all and even mandatory hotel documents required for the Thai Pass application were badly delayed. This caused us to rechedule our flights with an extra $500 in fare costs and three nights at the begining of our booking which we paid for with our room empty and no attempt at all to compensate.

The very same thing occured when we needed to extend our visas. The hotel registration form M30 took the staff 3 days to provide after numerouse calls and reception visits. This cost us 1200 Baht in Uber costs rather than 400 Baht as it took 3 visits to immigration with the officers explaining to the hotel staff repetedly what form was needed. A standard form the hotel knows only to well.

Very unhappy with the very avoident General Manager. No matter how polite we were or insistent neither got results in guest care.

No matter how good the hotel is it's not worth the stress and disregard. Better to stay somewhere else.

As soon as I arrived at The Palmery I was very happy with how pretty and clean it looked. The women at the desk were welcoming and the gentleman helped us carry our bags to our room. We were upgraded for free to a poolside room and it was spacious, clean and really pretty. It was so nice to be able to step out onto a private patio and go right into the pool. We also checked out the shared pool because it had a less deep kids pool for my 2 year old to play in. We opted out of the breakfast and ate outside the hotel but we did order room service twice and it was good and the price wasn't too bad but you can definitely get cheaper eats outside the hotel but it was nice not to have to leave the room, expecially when we were still jet lagged and tired. They have a free shuttle to the beach every hour starting at 9am and we decided to walk back from the beach to the hotel once and it was not far.
Overall I am pretty picky about staying at hotels, cleanliness is a big deal since I am traveling with a child. I would 100% stay here again.

1 room had a rat problem.. They did change the room but I'm surprised that it wasnt looked into by housekeeping whilst cleaning. The front desk staff barring 1 didn't give a hospitable or comfortable feel in their mannerisms of speaking with guests. The hotel and rooms were good.. but nothing within walking distance though in terms of restaurants or shopping but that's a location issue.. And I must thank hotels.com for the upgrade.

Hopping into a pool on hot day -- what could be better than that . . . maybe going to the nice sandy beach or eating inexpensive awesome food . . . or maybe just chilling with a cold beer -- awesome place to spend a vacation! Lots of food choices, 7-11 and \"Quicky Mart\" locations are nearby.

Except for the fact that the beach is not close (though not far either), the hotel is great. In particular, the prices of food and drinks are incredibly cheap. The vicinity is quite and therefore good for reflection/soul-searching.

Nice resort away from the busy streets

Our stay was really nice and pleasant. We were welcomed by a nice cold drink during check in. We were lucky enough to receive a complimentary room upgrade. Although our front yard pool is shared between 8 rooms, it still feels private as we enjoyed the pool when there weren't other people there. We had our breakfast booked throughout our stay. It was decent but nothing to shout about. We would have been better off getting breakfast at Kata town. Staff are generally nice and attentive, except the chef who constantly wears sunglasses.

Note that the resort is about a good 15 minutes walk from the Southern tip of Kata beach. My fiancee and I found it's a good way to exercise for all those nice food we had.

In general, we really enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and definitely different from the other crowded resorts near Kata and Karon Beach.

The staff here were extremely unhelpful and almost lazy.

Our private taxi airport transfer wasn't booked and we ended up on a shuttle service and almost missed our flight home.

The breakfast buffet was ordinary to terrible. Food wasn't fresh, or tasty. Even the fruit was bad.

Room is clean and spacious but the facilities are looking a little tired. Be careful- pool view is in fact no view or a view of the roof, unless you are standing outside looking down. You need pool access to get the view out to the pool

Basic and don't go expecting hotel services.

I have lived in Thailand before and I was so disappointed by the Palmery. I would not recommend for families and this is fine if you only need a place to sleep and nothing more.

They wanted to charge me for a broken coffee cup as a result of an accident. This level of pettiness was unacceptable, the other issues we had on the poor food quality and oversold \"pool view\"

Palmery is a nice, quiet place to stay & relax. The staff is very nice. The rooms are large & comfortable.
The breakfast buffet had pretty good food & coffee at a great price.
The one drawback is that it's a 10 minute walk to the beach (up hill on the way back). But, an hourly shuttle will take you there & pick you up until 6 pm.
Internet worked fine on laptop, but not so well on Android.
Kata Beach is a lot nicer than Patong. It's mostly middle class European & Chinese families. So, it's relaxed, clean, and safe.

It was 9 nights in a quiet place, with a lot of trees and other luxuriant vegetation. All the hotel staff were very kindly with us. They didn't speak English, only a little, but however our communication was ok.

Good resort with pool access

My impression is this resort upgrade my room from deluxe pool view to pool access suite. Also, This is super private resort. However, I got a little inconvenience about key card.

Overall, as expected.

This isn't a 4 star resort, but it is cheap. I stayed here 1 night and paid for 2 nights to get a good check out time for my return flight home. Mosquitos in the room, all round decent but I paid £30/night for a pool room. Good shower and bath, tatty but nothing wrong with it really. Would say its 2.5/3 star. Obviously not their fault but the road to Kata is very dangerous even by thailand standards.

A blissful place of tranquility

Second Visit to Palmery and must say that it gets better each time. Had a pool access suite, which gives loads of space and privacy. Well appointed rooms and delightful staff who ALWAYS have a sunny smile every time you see them. A joy to stay here for 2 weeks. Will certainly return.

Lovely hotel, only a short walk from the beach, although having the pool just outside your room means you can enjoy sitting by the pool all day, would recomend rooms 5201 to 5205 as you don't have people walking past your room and your in the sun all day. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, food in the hotel was reasonable priced but tasty, olny thing about the hotel is it's a little let down on maintenance but you soon overlook this.

Quiet corner of Phuket

Hotel reception is helpful in getting us what we need but not over the phone.
Free WiFi within the resort (30GB limit)
Big Room with a huge bed, a day bed, bathtub and ours came with pool access to a fairly private linear pool shared amongst 10 or so units.
The TV is limited to 12 channels (Fox Movies & 1 other english channel).
Neighbourhood has a few local restaurants, massage shops and taxi booths.
Hotel offers free tuk tuk service to Kata & Karon, but we didn't try it.
The area is near the pier for boats to nearby islands, 20mins by car.

Service at the Palmery was pleasant, and the room was large and pretty, however, there were mould and numerous other stains and marks throughout the room, and the bathroom was absolutely flea ridden.
I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and room service food immensely, but I strongly feel the rooms and certain amenities need to be better maintained/catered towards.

Another wonderful hotel and resort in Phuket

really enjoyed our recent stay in Kata Beach at the Palmery 24/10/15 to 7/11/15.......pool access room was excellent, ALL staff happy and helpful....forget the negative comments found elsewhere....this is a spot on hotel, and we would return tomorrow....if fact its top of our list for the next holiday.....which will hopefully be soon....and straight back to Palmery Resort and Spa

I'll just call this the 200 Baht Hotel

The hotel itself is ok, nothing really to complain about there. A bit old maybe. Staff don't speak much English. Breakfast was boring. Problem with the hotel is it's location. Only a five minute ride to Kata beach and the hotel has a shuttle there but they don't pick you up. Therefore you have to get a tuk tuk, which costs you 200 Baht every time. I suppose I could have rented a bike like a lot of others but it's been 30 years since I last ride a motorcycle and traffic rules on Phuket are practically nonexistent.

My mistake for not doing my homework in the first place as in hindsight I would have preferred to be in Patong. Everything is there, nightlife, shops, bars, restaurants, shopping centre, cinema and of course the beach. If you're in Patong you don't have to hire a taxi anywhere.

Next time I'll be a lot more prepared in my homework before booking.

Weak wifi kept cutting off and wouldn't work
Shower kept turning on and off while in use
BAD selection at breakfast, eggs were already cooked and left cold, items were not covered up so flies were all over them, and the vegetarian option was mixed with meat in the same container tray.
Don't order room service. Terrible food. Just 1 min walk from the hotel and it's cheaper and better!
Some Chinese guests came late in the afternoon and was banging the doors of the wardrobes etc all night until about 4 o'clock in the morning for two nights in a row.
ALSO THE 7 pools are not accessible to all rooms, there is only one communal pool !
Gym area is still under construction but it's a holiday so didn't really need to use it.

The pictures of the hotel look quite nice however they may have been taken a while ago as the hotel now appears to be in need of some renovations. The room I was in looked quite run down and I had several problems during my short stay (leaking tap, shower head not working, TV not working, unable to use internet because of very weak signal) which I brought up with reception but were never addressed. The room was also poorly cleaned and the sheets/ towels were stained.

Nice Hotel in Phuket

This is my first time to Phuket and thanks the service from hotel as they helped me to arrange the transportation service from Airport to the hotel as my flight arrived Phuket at around 11PM. Hotel is quite near KAKA beach (not remember exactly KAKA or KATA), just walk around 5 mins. Room is nice and clean but some deco has to upgrade. Breakfast is ok but can add more choices as I stayed the same hotel for 4 nights and each breakfast basically is the same. All of the taxi knew the location of the hotel. Staffs are very helpful - especially for someone like me without any knowledge about Phuket. Location of Palmary is good - lots to eat, food message and body message, near beach and easy to get taxi, well traveling experience.

Great hotel a little further from the beach

The hotel was great. Annoyingly its quite a bit away from the beach which the map doesn't really seem to show. There are no pavements and the road is busy. Tuk Tuks cost about THB200 to get to Kata beach and restaurants which seems expensive even by Sydney standards! The hotel is lovely, we had pool access from our room and there were hardly any other people there. It was so relaxing. The breakfasts got a bit boring. We were there for 6 days. Room was really well supplied. The food was fairly priced for lunches and snacks. Beer was cheap! I'd go again.

1 egg 1 person policy for a buffet breakfast

food is terrible maybe because they didn't even serve local food, buffet breakfast is always the same, best food served is egg but they have a 1 egg 1 person policy to i think \"asians\"? There were 4 of us who requested for 2 eggs each and the one who cooks told us that they only give 1 egg for each person and said it to us in a rude manner. Then we suddenly noticed a white guy who requested for more than 3 eggs just for him and he kept giving everything he wanted. BED is not so comfy, very hard. Kinda far to kata beach if youll keep going to the beach - better to stay closer to the beach so you dont keep spending on the transportation.

Amazing hotel to getaway

This hotel was our first stop for our honeymoon in Thailand, the hotel is amazing!!! The rooms are big and very comfortable the hotel staff is nice and super accomodating.

The hotel itself is a little far out there as far as touristy locations go.

It's about a 20 minute ride from Patong which is the center of things and some tuk tuks will try and charge you more the 400 baht for the ride especially going back.

The hotel offers free shuttle bus to the nearest beach with service running every two hours from 7am (one way only)

Near the hotel itself there isn't much to do so if you're looking to enjoy the island you'll want to get a hotel in Patong or bring extra travel money

Nice Room with Pool Access

We enjoyed our stay with the access to the pool. Staff were friendly, but housekeeping came quite late. During our last day of stay, the housekeeping did not turn up. While I can see those units opposite us were already cleaned before noon. It was until 3:00pm they phoned, asking whether they can come in another 15 mins???? At that timing, after my swim, I need to shower and rest before heading out for dinner. Quite disappointed with housekeeping.
