This an excellent location. The property is a bit dated. The staff is very friendly. The bed is comfortable. My bathroom area was huge which we enjoyed. It makes the room larger as there is room in the bathroom for his and her closets. I would call it a 3 Star hotel not a 4 Star but the price is right and it is convenient

The waiters for breakfast very friendly helpful i asked on the 24th if thay could dress up in Christmas hats a clothing. Thay went one better and dressed as father Christmas with a big bag of sweets for the kids. And in the back ground Christmas music. Fabulous.

Amazing staff, great pool side rooms.

We stayed at this hotel twice during our stay in Thailand, at the beginning of our trip and again at the end. We chose to come back here as it suited our needs. It was close to everything, the pool access rooms were great and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
On our return journey I unfortunately slipped and broke my knee cap. The staff couldn't have been more helpful over the next few days when I was incapacitated. They really helped make a very uncomfortable situation so much more pleasant. We wouldn't hesitate to return here on our next visit to Thailand.

Cheap, decent rooms, lack of diversity

Affordable, no frills hotel in a good location. We received an upgrade to one of the larger room, but this meant we didn’t have a pool access room. Nonetheless, we were happy with more space.

The hotel overall seems old and has its damages, it could do with a lot of refurbishment. Maybe the hotel closed down during covid and is in the progress of bringing itself back to glory. It is also hard to find for some taxi drivers and could do with better signage.

One key notes I’d make aware to future guests about the hotel and the overall area is the heavy influence and migration of Russians since the beginning of their political conflicts which has led to a major lack of diversification in tourists, and the saturation of the local Thai presence and feel.

The hotel staff were friendly, especially Tong who met us, learnt our names and was very helpful during our stay.

Great staff. This is the second time that we have stayed at this hotel. The service and friendliness of the staff was wonderful!

My only concern was that the Wi-Fi service was not very reliable as the connection was sometimes hard to get or dropped off every 15 seconds or so.

We stayed as a couple in a pool access room for a few nights and found our stay was peaceful and relaxing.
We highly recommend pool access room if you are a couple as you will be further up the hotel and away from the kids in the main pool area, however if you a sun-worshipper then ensure you request a room with the balcony facing south otherwise you won't have any sun at all.
The room was comfy and felt secure, with double locks on both the pool access and front door. Rooms good size.
The majority of the guests are Russian couples, with a few families here and there, and we found all staff and other guests to be very friendly.
Breakfast was fine, the usual stuff you get in Thai hotels really; egg station, rice soup, bacon and sausages (hot dog style) and fruit. There was also some slightly more odd breakfast options, such as stir fried noodles and pasta dishes. All of decent enough quality.
One good thing about the hotel is that despite being in the centre of (the very overcrowded) Kata, it felt a million miles away from the hustle and bustle, being tranquil and peaceful. It was a 5 min walk to the (very overcrowded) beach and loads of markets and shops on the doorstep when you walk out in to Kata.

This property was in a great location - central to several markets and very close to the beach.
The hotel model is very nice in that all the rooms open up to the public pool

However, because it was an open model there were many mosquitos and even a lizard in our room.

1. Check in was good. The lady was nice. Check out was not. Different person. Asked for a bottle of water and was denied. The restaurant also did not serve a glass of water. Had to buy from outside.

3. hotel is old but if you like antique stuff you will like it there. a lot of use of wood was nice.

5. One of the beds had bad spring. so had to use single bed.

Definitely would stay here again

Happy with this hotel, we stayed four nights. Clean and comfortable. Good location and within walking distance of massage, food, beach, shopping. AC good, beds average comfort for Asia. Our rooms were a long walk from front of hotel though. We were all the way at the back of the resort. If I stay again, I will ask for a room closer to the front. We had a pool access room and a deluxe room. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Some decor on the wall is very dusty. The place is full of mosquitos and I was bitten everyday badly to a point I had to buy from a dug store insect repeller. A second shower room was unnecessary and there is no window in it, allowing mosquitos in at night. I found out too late that this shower's door needs to be shut all the time. The window is next to bed and all rooms are on ground floor therefore no privacy unless you keep the blinds down all the time which makes the room too dark. I do not recommend this hotel.

Overall my stay was good. It was hard to communicate with receptionist as they do not speak English or understand it, which is odd for hotels. Staff is friendly and nice. Clean rooms but breakfast was bad. So I don't recommend eating at the hotel.

Very nice hotel in Kata beach.

Really nice stay and I enjoyed staying here very much. The hotel was a bit quiet in mid August which always guaranteed a quiet swimming pool. Room was brilliantly situated beside the pool. 100m -200m from the beach, would defo have stayed here again, in fact I came back to Kata beach and booked a higher standard of hotel and instantly regretted it!! If you can get out of bed in time, the breakfast is worth trying again...

Room 2/5 (due to privacy issue) room is nice, big, and clean. Bathroom was big with indoor and outdoor shower. However during day time are very dark with no natural light. If you open windows there will be 100% no privacy at all. It's a simple way to fix this problem, just install a blind at the window. I have read about this issue before my stay. Not sure why the hotel not consider fixing this issue.
Another issue is the hotel have a lot of tree and water, mosquito everywhere even we try to close the door all the time. Should have consider provide a sleeping next to provide the mosquito issue
Pool:3/5 very nice and big. However my issue is its close at 7pm. Most the time we on tour and won't back hotel till 5,6pm or even later. Not very happy with the pool hours. Other hotel we stay all close pool at 10pm
Wifi: 1/5 really bad, we stay in 2 room, the poolside room lost connection nearly my whole stay. My friend stay in standard room cannot connect to wifi at all. They have to go to lobby and restaurant, pool area to use wifi.
Location: close to beach and shop, restaurant. 400thai bath to Patong by taxi or tuk tuk.
Staff 5/5we saw the cleaner staffs cleaning the hotel, around resorts all the time to keep clean and prevent the mosquito.
However there many issue as I wrote above have put the resort down as these issue are easily to improve and fixed

I stopped by the day before to check the place out. Unacceptable. Staff refused to allow me to see a room so I cancelled my reservation. They are trying to charge my card despite my cancellation and the fact I never set foot on the property again. Typical Phuket thieves and scumbags.

rooms are big but smelly, furniture are really old, toilet has old equipment, walls are really thin you can heard absolutely everything is going on in the next room. Mosquitoes everywhere, staff is polite but they don't try to help you . Door locks are very dodgy. Beds are hard, good variety of channels on the telly and location is decent. 5 minutes walk to the beach but very noisy area. Hotel name in the door is Phuket Kata Resort as used to appear here.

Out for a quick buck

I generally do not write reviews, but what happened to us at the end our our stay was so appalling, I could not rid the bad taste.

Check In: We booked a one night stay for a late evening arrival before moving onto our next reservation the day after. There was no problem checking in as there seemed to be someone at the front desk at all hours.

Property: Past the entrance you will see two large pools, open to six blocks of rooms. Overall the property is clean, but definitely outdated. It may have been the hottest resort on the block 10-15 years ago, but by today's standards, it is a good budget option at best.

Room: We ended up with a pool view, which opens back the pool directly. The room itself was spacious, had an extra pull out bed, and the shower was just a compartment in the bathroom separated by a curtain. Again feels outdated. Each room has its own set of beach chairs and patio by the pool. If you do not have a pool view, it is separated by a walkway and may or may not have a fence.

Service: We did not get a late check out, but at least they did allow us to leave our luggage with them, to pick up later. As we were leaving we asked if they had any water, and they had the nerve to tell us to go buy it from the restaurant on their property. Only thing is that the water cost 60 baht. No thanks. We walked down the block and got a bottle for 7 baht at 7 Eleven. Small things from a service (that you pay for) can make an experience, but in this case it broke ours.

Quick beach access and very comfortable room

This hotel is just across the street from the beach access which makes it easy to run back and forth to your hotel room if it rains or if you want a quick pool break. There are several bars and restaurants around but it is not over crowded and crazy as in Patong. There are many Russian tourists everywhere, in fact, many things are translated to English and Russian.

Room- We were upgraded to a pool access room and I highly recommend it. There is a nice day-bed looking out to the beautiful pool. The bed was very soft and comfortable (not common in this region).

On arrival I didn't expect to have to lug my bags up the stairs to reception - there was no porter or bellboy to assist with luggage. Not an easy task for anyone, let alone someone who has mobility issues. I had booked a superior poolside room, but there was nothing superior about it - very, very basic, and the beds are extremely hard, which you do get used to after a while. Don't waste your time trying the breakfasts. Again, very basic with very little choice. The only shining light for this 'resort' is the pool, which was lovely and clean and had ample sunbeds, with shade if required. It did have a swim-up bar, which unfortunately nobody used for the week I was there. I felt a little sorry for the staff who were manning it all day. The proximity to the main street and beach was a plus, although having to walk through an alley of stalls to enter and exit the premises wasn't ideal.

Hotel is in fantastic location, close to beach and restaurants. Main pool area is really nice, lots of trees and umbrellas available. I stayed in a premier room. Only difference between premier and pool access (I viewed both) is the pool access rooms have nice big windows so room is nice and light. Downside of premier rooms is that unless you have your curtain wide open (no privacy from other guests walking past) there is no other natural light. Overall very pleased with hotel apart from dark room, however figured as I only slept in there at night, $30 per night was an excellent bargain. Can't plug USB or hard drive into the TV. No need for an indoor and outdoor shower..would have preferred a bath tub or another window to let in light. Would definitely stay here again, however would highly recommend the rooms get an upgrade/ renovation- this would make for such a better stay. Only other real negative, we arrived around 11am, check in isn't until 2pm. We travelled in low season and the hotel was not full! Staff refused to let us check in before 2pm, despite the fact that the room was empty and already cleaned (we hung around the pool until 2pm waiting to check in- no one came in or out of the room). Flexibility would have been great in this instance.

I hidden little gem that is close to the beach!

We spent 4 nights here in June and loved it. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and comfortable. You can lay in the pool and look up to the mountainside and see the back of the Big Buddha. The hotel sits about 100 meters off of the main road in Kata Beach so you are close to lots of food and the beach. The hotel itself has the lobby and the rooms behind that so it is very quiet. We had three rooms for our family. We had both poolside and swim-out rooms. Both were great, but it's worth the extra few dollars for the swim-out room. I would definitely stay here again. All of the beds in Asia are pretty firm, but these were the most comfortable that we slept in during our month long trek around Asia.

Two of my priorities when booking a hotel are 1,coffee tea making
facilities,Yes the supply a jug and cups but No coffee or tea,I arrived after a long flight at 2AM wanting a cuppa but no tea or coffee,and reception said they dont supply coffee or tea.
2 the breakfast was very poor,dry cold precooked eggs and NO BACON..plenty of rice and plenty of noodles but not for my
breakfast.This could be a good hotel but the food options let it down.I stayed 9 nights ,tried to have breakfast each day but
it was just rubbish..this is not free breakfast ,we pay for it in the room tarrif..so each morning I would go to breakfast at the hotel next door where they catered for westerners 200 bhat

We left the hotel after 2 hours! Terrible room

Very rude check in manager at reception tried to give me a twin room, citing that they were full and I had no choice. I showed the booking form which clearly showed one dobule bed. Then magically they had a double room and we took our own cases to the room which I didn't mind. We were in total shock as the room was smelt damp and was very dark as there is only one window. We could see many mosquitos flying around - the front door has many gaps and daylight can be seen through the gaps - and the room opens to the courtyard - so no lobby or hallway to step into. On opening the cupboard where the safe was more mosquitos flew out. We ended up going out to buy mosquito spray which had no effect as the bathroom has an 'open window' where they just fly in. We looked around for another hotel and found a wonderful place next door for a similar price which included breakfast - about ten times better than this place. We checked out and asked for a refund which was refused. They did not even bother to inspect the room or apologise. As I booked for 4 night I said they should at least refund 3 nights - but no. Awful experience at this hotel. Avoid.

I hope Expedia will refund me.

As some reviewers mentioned before: hidden gem in low season (price/performance 5/5).
The location is great, few mins to the beach and 1min to the restaurants, 7/11. Staff is very friendly, rooms big and very clean (though not so new anymore), bed comfortable. Pool just outside the room, wow! Breakfast good!
There were some mosquitoes in front of the room during the day, zaaap.
For this price I would def. stay again!

This hotel is a hidden gem in the low season. The location is perfect. The essentials are close by: 7-Eleven, the beach and the beach bus. With 4 pools in the resort, all rooms are essentially right next to one. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating if something in your room is not right. Tips: Make sure to eat at the Italian restaurant just outside the hotel. They have amazing food! The travel agent straight outside the front about 6-7 stalls down on the left has a good attitude, really fair pricing, will negotiate and speaks reasonably good English.

A no-frills experience in an excellent location

Excellent location to beach and restaurants. The wifi didn't work at all for days. When it worked, coverage was good. Reception says they are 24 hours but they were not always there at night. They ask you to leave your room keys at reception, I came back one night to my key out for anyone to take and nobody there at desk with lights off. Not a safe feeling but luckily nothing bad happened. All linen could do with replacing. Sheets never felt clean, they were all stained even when just changed with clean ones. Linen and towels smelled of chlorine. Bed was more Comfortable than others I've slept on in Thai accoms 4&3 star. Bathroom always felt clean and housekeeping were generous with replenishing personal amenities. Bathtub is huge! Really nice to soak in after a long day. Shower really nice, hot and good pressure. Housekeeping accidentally came in twice when I had set \"do not disturb\" and I was asleep. I prepaid the breakfast buffet, it was very basic. Some days it was cancelled due to low numbers at hotel, kitchen staff could still make you a hot meal but this isn't suited to someone with food allergy/intolerance because it was a set menu. Nice kitchen staff. The main pool was lovely and very clean, though the pool chairs and mats were old and peeling. The pool bar couldn't make some of the drinks I asked for, just a basic poolside bar only - if you wanted a bottle/can of water, coke or a beer you'd be fine. It wasn't a bad stay it was just not luxurious.

Easy access to busy shopping and beach but set back so you can have respite when needed. Pool room has direct access to pool from patio - perfect. Stayed 2 nights, wish it was longer. Found bed a little hard, floors dusty on arrival ( but daily cleaning sorted) and only downsides were walls very thin so noise from neighbours easily heard and having to run the gauntlet of stall holders right outside entrance, to get to main road. Staff extremely helpful. Imagine it would be good place for holidaying with kids/families.

convenient to the beach, shops and food, love it!

We stayed for 6 nights at Kata Pool Lagoon. Though arrived late at night, the hotel staff were very friendly and nice to sort out our rooms very quickly. The rooms are big and clean. Everything provided well and working well too. Love the indoor and outdoor bath area... toilets are very clean. We come back from activities everyday with the room made and tided and can rest very well every night. The hotel is quiet, peaceful and safe. We would choose this hotel again when we visit Phuket next year! We have 3 kids and the hotel provided extra pillow and bedding with no extra charge. They love the space and simplicity. Love the types of towels provided in the room too, one for poolside and one for shower, the one from pool side can be brought out to the beach. Whenever we forget something from the hotel, it's an easy walk (like 2mins) from the beach, totally good for us! From our hotel, it's very near to shopping, massage places, Karon beach, dino golf, elephant trekking and to many activities such as jetski, parasailing and Surfhouse.

Central location is best aspect

The central location of this hotel is it's best aspect. Older rooms are very dated & small. Larger rooms behind first pool area have pool access & are larger.
There are newer, better options available in Kata.

We really enjoyed our 10 night stay here, the pool was an absolute highlight of the trip!!! Was a very sensible option to have a minimal set breakfast menu, as we believe there would be too much waste if there would be an all you can eat type buffet (this was absolutely no problem for us) hot American style breakfast was yummy. Staff friendly without being too gushy all over you (: thanks to everyone at kata pool lagoon.

Nice Grounds for a no frills Hotel

First, Kata Beach Phuket is a great place to stay and this hotel is located steps away from the beach. Additionally, it sports a very nice swimming pool with a sitting area around it containing a bar. All around the pool are trees teeming with fragrant flowers and chirping birds. During my stay the Hotel was fairly empty which meant it was very quiet. If it was full of noisy travelers it would have been difficult to find peace. The walls are thin! Fortunately, it was very quiet during my stay. The breakfast was expensive and basic. I would skip it, as there are many coffee shops and great places to eat literally a few steps away from the hotel grounds. The biggest downside was the bed. It felt like I was sleeping on a plank of wood. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again on my next trip to Phuket (Thalang).

Nice Grounds, No Frills Facility

I really enjoyed the grounds of this Hotel. It is quiet and the rooms look out onto a series of very nice pools. It is also steps from the Beach. Kata Beach is the place to go if you are trying to avoid the go-go scene. No go-go bars in Kata which is a blessing. It is also very reasonably priced, at least on the days I was there. The internet is reliable. The CONS are that the bed is so hard it basically feels like you are sleeping on a wood plank. Hotel offers nothing complimentary like coffee in the morning. I do not like to eat breakfast but i need to drink coffee when I wake. I was charged for a full breakfast two days in a row when I only had a cup of coffee. That being said, the experience was good enough and I will stay there again.

Mycket bra hotell med fantastisk personal och ett mycket bra läge.
Inne på hotellområdet är det en lugn atmosfär och när man kliver ut så hamnar man mitt i Kata Beachs centrum med allt vad det innebär.
Hotellet har den där sköna känslan av Thailand, inte för modernt eller tillgjort.

Bra hotell, fint på hotellet. Bra med marknadsmat utanför. Trevlig personal förutom vid incheckningen. Utcheckning smidig men debiterades för ett glas som gått sönder (vilket kan vara okej men det kändes lite löjligt med 50bath för ett litet glas som inte kostar i närheten av det. Jag undrar om man debiteras samma ifall ett glas går sönder under frukosten. Sammanfattningsvis vi är nöjda med hotellet, läget, rummet och större delen av personalen.

Vi var en familie på 7. Fra 12 år til 74 år. Greit hotell og sentralt. Ok, hotellfrokost. Hotellet ligger 4 min fra Katastranden. Foran hotellet er det et matmarked hvor du får kjøpt Thaimat. God mat og ingen ble syke. Stranden er fin, men lite med solsenger.
