Nice hotel but would be difficult for anybody with mobility issues as lots of steps and steep slopes
Staff are the hotels biggest asset as they are universally lovely and friendly and so helpful .
Room was nice with a sea view however the very busy road in front was noisy and so not possible to sit on balcony .
Cinema night advertised with tapas , special drinks and free Pringles , however on the night nobody seemed to know about it . Eventually wheeled a big screen into reception area but with the sound too los to hear over the music and chatter that is normal in a reception area
Overall lovely hotel I just picked a very busy time to visit which was too much

We stayed in one of the renovated rooms which were clean and modern. Very nice. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Breakfast had many options and the two pools were great. The beach was like a two minute walk, there’s a 7-eleven across the hotel, and a bunch of shops and restaurants on the street. Also the best smoothies we had were right next to the hotel!! Very convenient!

Hotel is in a great location just across the road from the beach. It's also in the quieter end of Kata but within easy walking distance of lots of shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel

There was an issue on the first day of check-in, but it was solved the next day. And thank to the management team and the front staff. They are very friendly, caring and giving me a warm hospitality. The hotel was very clean, rooms cleaned daily. We stayed on the 5th floor with a beautiful sea view. We Asked for fresh pool towels and they were brought to the room within 10 minutes fresh and warm from the dryer ! Staff were so friendly and helpful. The pool bartender 'Bank' was an amazing friendly , hard working young man whom made everyone feel special. we had a great time at happy hour!! The bigger pool is open till 10pm, it is so warm and exceptionally clean. We had a great stay. 10/10

Ideally located at the bottom of Kata beach just a few minutes walk either on the street/narrow paths or along the beach to where the majority of Kata restaurants and shops start.
Our room was well-appointed and with a bed that was big and comfortable. The view from our room was glorious, overlooking the pool and out to the ocean just what we had hoped for. More than anything though, it was the staff who made our stay so memorable. We found all the Chanalai staff courteous, respectful and willing to assist whenever needed. Nothing was too much trouble. A special shout out to poolside staff especially Bank.

Nice hotel very close to Kata beach, restaurants and bars. Rooms are a little dated but big and pretty comfy. There are two pools and plenty of sunbeds at both. The bar staff were all fantastic, really friendly and fun! The hotel offers airport pick up if you request it 2 days in advance but I did this and they still did not manage to actually help me with a pick up so I would recommend organising your own transport

My parents, younger brother, and I stayed at Chanalai Garden Resort (rooms 3205 & 3206) from 28 June to 1 July 2025. My parents were in room 3206. We checked in early evening with just backpacks and one small luggage.

My dad had placed MYR1,000 (10 x MYR100 notes) in the side pocket of his backpack, specifically reserved for duty-free alcohol purchases on the last day. That cash was never touched throughout the trip. Unfortunately, on the morning of 1 July, just before checking out, he discovered the money was gone.

There were two known occasions where staff entered for housekeeping—once on 29 June (room was cleaned while we were out for dinner) and again on 30 June (only bottled water was replaced, and strangely, the bed remained messy). Meanwhile, our room next door was cleaned properly on 30 June, which made the rushed and incomplete service in my parents’ room feel suspicious.

When reported, the hotel denied everything (as expected). Extremely disappointed that such a breach of trust could happen in a supposed 4-star hotel. Would not recommend this place—your belongings may not be safe.

This Hotel is just a few minutes walk to the Beach and a Seven Eleven store is just across the road. The rooms are nice and we had a great view of the Beach too. The Breakfast was nice, with plenty of options. The hotel has two pools, both of which are very nice. If you have mobility problems, this hotel might not be for you as there are many steps to climb. The staff are as usual very kind and friendy.

Good resort. Breakfast was great. It took us 5 minutes to get from the front desk to our room. It's that big! The views were incredible! The room was comfortable and the beach was very close. The staff at the front desk was a bit cold but okay. The people at the taxi stand were helpful and kind. The happy hour was buy one get one. Very large resort so it took a day to figure out navigation. Would recommend!

Staff were unhelpful and rude. Door to balcony came completely off its hinges. Breakfast gave me food poisoning and staff didn’t even let me increase the checkout time an hour because of it. The receptionist also accused me of taking a laundry bag and they kept asking me every day “ you check out today”? When they knew I was checking out a few days later. How condescending. I left the hotel and booked one for half the price 500m down the road and it is much better.

Our initial room was dated and had a very small bathroom, we contacted front desk and they were quick to respond and moved us to a more updated room and provided us with complimentary breakfast to help resolve the issue.
Lots of stairs to navigate but nice views (elevators are available for parts).

My group of five thoroughly enjoyed our trip here. There are so many options in Phuket--We wanted a place that was walkable to get massages and go to eat seafood around the town, but didn't want to place place that was so buzzing that it felt like a congested tourist town: Easy access to the beach with options for a Seaview from. Very functional gym with air conditioning, lovely breakfast (Unlike other resorts, they somehow managed to keep the birds away from the buffet line!) and most of all helpful staff who are always willing to go above and beyond for the guests. Meen Was especially wonderful person who helped us at Home upon arrival. Will be with my entire family next time.

Honestly a bit disappointed about this property. Arrived and it took staff ages to find our booking (booked on Expedia and I thought they didn’t have it). Hotel room was fine not dirty but not spotless like you expect. Toilet was blocked and didn’t work - luckily cleaning did sort this. They didn’t clean our room until 5:30pm the second day - bit of a joke in my opinion. Pool was nice with the swim up bar - location of the hotel was good and very good gym facilities. Hotel bar was nice and found most of the staff to be pleasant - the main concierge guy made me feel on edge though.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Right in the middle of the “action” where you can do anything from a city tour to booking a day with the elephants!
