We stayed 4 nights in an ocean suite as a special way of ending a 2 1/2 week trip in Thailand. The place was as amazing as I had imagined it to be. The ocean view from our room was spectacular, room spacious and comfortable, large balcony, quiet, staff very friendly, service of a high standard, great breakfast choices, and we also enjoyed the bonus happy hour and a head massage each. A steep but short walk into town kept us active, but lots of transport options available too, and only a short walk from the room onto kata noi beach

Every need was attended to, before we knew we had a need. Beautiful sunset views. Walk to Kata Noi beach in few minutes (steps directly onto beach from hotel property).
Short walk to both Kata and Kata Noi. The grounds are lovely, but this hotel can be better enjoyed by people who don’t mind a few stairs and strolls to get to the property’s pools, the beach, or nearby restaurants.

My wife and I went to Phuket 10 years ago and had lunch at the restaurant of Mom Tri’s Villa Royale. We were so impressed with the incredible views and environment and we decided that we would stay at this hotel if we go back again. Finally we made it. Fabulous boutique hotel in a stunning location. Lovely spacious traditionally furnished comfortable room with sitting area, sea view and balcony. Large bathroom with separate shower and bath. Mama Tri villa Royal in Kata Noi beach is a Great place to stay and I highly recommend. I noticed a few places with similar name, so make sure your taxi driver takes you to the right one near Kata Noi beach, which is just a stones throw walk away, for the best beach in Phuket that i saw. It is a quieter place from the busier kata beach shopping area but its just a short 20 minute walk to the area including the kata beach night market for Great Street, food and shopping which I highly recommend at night time when things cool down after 6pm. The staff and check in were very professional and friendly and they never gave us any pressure to tip them but I always gave the baggage handlers and staff a tip whenever I could since 1-3 US dollars goes a very long way for them so don’t forget to tip your staff. Enjoy

But room service and the bar have limited operating hours, so if you're thirsty or hungry later (or even need ice), you'll have to leave the property to walk down a steep hill (and back up) to the family mart. This was a huge pain and something I would not have expected for a hotel with their price point.

Mom tris is a long time family favourite for us. Super clean . Staff bend over backwards to make you happy and food excellent. We have stayed at mom tries as a single couple and without daughter from 2 years of age.
Having been shut for 2 years , mom tris is still getting back on its feet.
They are slightly understaffed , a new chef and busy updating the premise . It still however in my books , one of the best kata noi has to offer! Also only a short walk to lots of other amazing restaurants , convenience stores , shopping , markets and massage parlours.

getaway vacation in wrong place

i was shocked from the first moment , a small limited reception, poor English front desk staff ,don't have knowledge about surrounding area. checked in my room which i didn't like but they changed it for me. it's chalet kind hotel & be aware from insects& reptiles. sometimes i find mugs &cutleries are not cleaned enough, nothing more few shops within walking distance this hotel had 1 restaurant, however the staff were friendly &tried to help as much as they could even drove me for free to near places. also i liked that i could have my breakfast in my room instead of going to dinning area . this hotel shouldn't be categorized as 5 stars hotel, definitely i won't come again

Villa Royale is an amazing destination. Nestled in the quit Kata Now beach, it has spectacular views of the water. The service is excellent and the food at Mom Tri's is the best on Phuket. I highly recommend Villa Royale, as I have stayed several times over the past 12 years. While there are parts of the hotel that are a bit dated, it's a great place!

A beautiful hotel. The staff are so attentive, polite and hard working. My wife and I spent 6 nights there. We are 29 and 33 and found this location great for everything we wanted. You can walk to great beaches, catch a cab or use their uber app ( GRAB ) to get a cheap car to the livelier areas on the island. We stayed on the adult only wing. It was like having our own private side of the island. The view was amazing, the pool was always available and staff would great you instantly. Although we spent most of the time outside of the hotel, we loved getting back there after a long day out. Breakfast was amazing and we ate at their restaurant once for dinner and although it was much pricier than your standard Thai restaurant it was delicious. You would be hard pressed to find better accommodation and staff. Thanks! :)

The villa is very classy and tasteful furnished in an elegant and understated way. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help. The food is outstanding. The villa is well maintained. However for western taste the bed was very hard. Breakfast was delicious and lovely variety of cultural food. Both management and staff went extra miles to make the guests feel welcome - from daily treats and newspaper and turn down service to helping navigate the area. The spar treatment is a must.

Beautiful piece of heaven

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted with cold towels and a refreshing drink while we checked in. We were upgraded to a beach view room which was fantastic! Very large room with balcony all looking over the sea.

It was the little touches with this hotel that made it feel more of a 'family' than a business. Little treats left everyday in our room, not to mention the honeymoon cake and flowers on the bed on arrival (oh and in the bath). Robes, flipflops, umbrellas, slippers all for your use.

It is about a 10 minute walk to the first part of town where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. We did walk into the centre of town once and it took us about half an hour. There are taxi and tuk tuks to drop you off and take you back, but i found this a pain every night (it does add up quickly) and i got tired of bartering. We did enjoy the walk though. There are quite a lot of stairs and slopes, so i would bare that in mind if you having problems walking.

I was very sad to leave this hotel, and nothing lived up to it on our journey onwards.

Amazing! Staff is so so helpful, the hotel is clean, and GORGEOUS. We stayed in one of the the ocean front suites for our honeymoon and it was so perfect. The king bed is the biggest bed I have ever slept in, and the views are insane. The breakfast is one of the best ever, including breakfasts I have had at home, they have eggs mde to order and fresh juice made to order. I would stay here a thousand times again. They give you beautiful smelling jasmine flowers and juice upon arrival.

One of the best location to recharge your batteries. Location is exceptional, away from the noise and crowd, but close enough to walk to restaurants and shops. The hotel is an oasis, with beautiful gardens, private, quiet, and every room has the sea view...a total jewel!
The staff is very friendly, helpful, amazing people I had a chance to meet and talk with. The library is a plus :-)! Breakfast is very tasty and serving is impeccable as well.
I will definitely chose the same place next time.

Fantastic choice if you like peace, view, beach

Overall this is a great hotel.

Very nice and quiet beach, fantastic view, great food. The only shortcoming is that it's far from most night activities and it's hard to get a Taxi in Phuket. I would say it's perfect if you are traveling with kids/seniors or if you just like being quiet and relax.

The whole hotel is built on a cliff, so you really can't beat the view, even the Royale wing has some sea view. The decoration is beautiful and relaxing, and the staff is very nice. If you walk down the cliff you can instantly reach the Kata beach. The Kata beach is mostly occupied by Katanini, so it's not crowded at all, very nice beach.

The food in its restaurant is great as well, definitely recommended, and you can enjoy the great view there as well.

The only shortcoming is that it's a bit far away from the other restaurants, the night clubs, and other activities. And it's not easy to get a Taxi or Tuk-tuk in Phuket. But normally if you prefer action you would choose the Patong beach instead.

If you have to go to Phuket ...

I haven't been to Phuket in 15 years and it's not quite as I remember it. But. It's still a fine vacation destination if you haven't been.

I prefer Kata as it's away from much of the madness. Though even Kata proper is a bit mad these days. Mom Tri's made it more than tolerable. Located a quarter-mile south of town up the hill Mom's is a secluded getaway but close enough to the action for a short stroll there to see what you might be missing then run back up the hill to Mom's once you're reminded. The food is delicious, particularly the breakfast spread. The beach to the south is accessible by a short walk and is populated by guests of the three or so hotels that front it. Pleasant and relaxing.

A beautiful oasis

I've been to Thailand many times over 40 years, and have stayed in all manner of places, from un-airconditioned beach bungalows to 5* resorts, from Bangkok to Koh Samui, Koh Lanta and Khao Lak. I've loved all of them and have appreciated the different experiences. This time I was travelling alone, and specifically wanted somewhere reasonably easy to get to, comfortable and a bit different. Mom Tri's satisfied on every level. It's about an hour and a half from the airport, which was fine. I loved my Beach Suite, with its balcony overlooking Kata Noi, enormous and comfortable bed, well-equipped bathroom and rustic, quirky - but still recognisably traditionally Thai - decor. The hotel grounds are green and lush and well-tended. The various buildings are set around the grounds along walkways and up and down steps, but there's nothing that should be a problem for a moderately fit (or less!) person. The weather wasn't great while I was there - some rain every day - but nevertheless I spent many enjoyable hours by the pool, overlooking the beach and watching the surfers. I did venture into town - it's just down the hill - but as it was dark and raining I jumped into the shuttle (free) which dropped me off right next to the tuk-tuk stand where I picked up a ride home. I also used the spa - the \"Jetlag\" treatment was just the ticket the morning after a long flight, and I would recommend arriving early to use the pool.

Set on a rocky headland right next to Kata Noi Beach and short walk to Kata Beach the hotel commands elevated sea views from the restaurant, bars and rooms. Our Royal suite was spacious, well appointed and the large very private sheltered balcony was a winner. We loved the gardens, restaurant, food and the friendly and efficient staff. We also enjoyed that the hotel never feels crowded.
We enjoyed every moment of our stay.

Quiet location great for relaxing.

Showing its age in some parts of the resort but still very pleasant and well maintained. The resort covers quite a large area so you can find a quiet spot to relax beside one of the pools, on loungers overlooking the ocean or in one of the covered seated areas. Nice ocean views from all of the restaurants. We stayed in a penthouse roomRoom which was clean and well appointed with a private balcony overlooking gardens and the ocean.its a short walk along the beach or the road to restaurants, shops etc at Kata-Noi and a 5 min taxi to Kata. You can also easily find a private taxi / tuk tuk in Kata - Noi (5 min walk from the resort. We stayed in Patong for a few days and then 4 nights at Mm Tri. Easy to get a private taxi if you want to hit the nightlife at Patong - Baht 500one way and takes about 20 mins. The hotel can get you a hotel,taxi for Baht 600. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it as a quiet place to stay.

One word..........Awesome

From the moment you get there until the moment you arrive back at the airport to head home it is perfect. You are greeted with an amazing reception, checked in. every detail has been attended to. You get to your room after enjoying a nice reception tea drink that is amazing. We stayed in an ocean beach view suite........You will not be sorry if you stay there. The bathroom, the deck, the room, the bed.....everything is top notch. The happy hour you cant miss the main dinner place is amazing. Did I mention the breakfast yet...........wow.......you really do not need to eat again the rest of the day after that buffet but you will. The spa was amazing as well......you can not find a more peaceful better massage then what we received. It is situated perfectly close to what ever you want to do but far enough to wear you don't hear anything but ocean if you stay in. You could not go wrong staying here/

Treated as royalty.

From the moment we stepped out of our taxi, we were in paradise. We were greeted with refreshing cold welcome drinks and essential oil scented cold compresses. This is a beautiful, serene resort, with coy ponds, lotus flowers blooming, and immaculately kept gardens surround the grounds. Our suite was decorated in classic Thai décor, with rich dark wood and Asian accents throughout. The view from our Beach Suite was breathtaking. Daily afternoon sweets such as cake were provided in our room. Nightly turndown service with orchids was divine. The hotel went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. You are truly treated as a honored guest.

Intimate, oceanfront, 'boutique hotel' luxury

We stayed in this wonderful hotel as part of our tour of Thailand. It was by far and away the best hotel we stayed at. The configuration of the grounds and property allow for an incredibly intimate feeling. We stayed in a villa right on the ocean with the sound of crashing waves from our veranda and a beautiful view of the beach. Staff could not have been more gracious. Excellent food, wine, bed and linens. The hotel is not fussy or fancy ... it is perfectly lovely; respectfully of the natural surroundings; and inclusive of the Thai culture.

relaxing with good level

This is a truly good level of a hotel with one of the swimming pools with sea water which is good since the beach is quite some steps down and it is not and easy thing to find shadow there. Fantasitc view from the room. Not many people you see around you all the time, you have the feeling of being on your own villa, still you might meet people there :)
Another great thing that we liked was the breakfast! the fruit and fresh juices from the fruit you pick, no crowds, no queues, even though the hotel was fully booked. real king size bed in the room and big balcony with coaches. Welcome basket with fruit and a complementary cake the next day :)
The only disappointment that I had was to find diapers for my kid in the nearby. I had to walk for 15 minutes into Kata area and several shops just didn't have the size I needed and none of them had swimming diapers . But I think it is an easy thing to improve for the hotel and have diapers in there :)

Amazing, Relaxing, Great Views

Amazing place. Since I only had 3 days to spend in Phuket (1st time), I decided to spend a little more money to try this resort. I'm glad I did. Atmosphere and ocean view was amazing. They sort and clean your room twice a day and in the evening, leave you little pastry treats on your bed/table - A nice touch. The beach can be accessed directly from the resort and this place is located at the edge of town. Oh I should also mention this place is very quiet. Their buffet is amazing with great service and selection. Amazing views wherever you are at the resort.

The only downside during my stay was poor TV reception/quality and ocean facing infinity pool was wasn't clean for 2 of the days I was there (leaf debris and other plants), so I ended up using their other pool.

Definitely worth returning to!

Gorgeous property, lovely beach, amazing views

This was our second time to stay at Mom Tri. What a gorgeous, relaxing property on a beautiful beach. You cannot beat the views from the bar and dining areas, plus the many lovely swimming pool and garden spaces. Terrific food at every meal (we had breakfast, lunch and dinner on various days), with special appreciation for the chef menu options in February. Be mindful that the property has many levels and steps between them, even going down to the beach, so be prepared to have a light workout getting around.

So glad we chose here..

It really is a great place to spend your time. We probably saw less of Phuket than intended, but we enjoyed the property there so much. Best breakfast spread of the 5 hotels we stayed at in Thailand, great spa, kind service, thoughtfulness, attentiveness.. Really was 5 star service. We loved this hotel and would love to go back. Dont hesitate.

Unforgettable holiday!

The hotel room has the best view of Kata beach which you can lie down in bed to see the sea. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is healthy with very good quality. Their Kitchen is best in Phuket, has won lots of awards, you must have a dinner there watching the sunset. We were impressed that there is no problem for the late check out if you have an evening flight.
We had a wonderful time and miss it already. Definitely we will go back.

Luxury in quite and clean beach

Luxury hotel located in southern Phuket in a very quite and very clean (hustle free) beach. You get panoramic views of the Andaman sea. Many shops and restaurants are close by and it is only a few minutes pleasant walk to Kata Noi village center. Breakfast variety is acceptable but can improve. Although the restaurant is highly rated and recommended on many lists, I did not like the food and I do not advise you to eat there especially as prices are very exaggerated too. The only nice thing about the restaurant is the view and seating. The bar on the other hand is very nice and present you with a pleasant experience to watch the sunset and unwind.

Picturesque hotel, private location, ok service

Enjoyed our time at Mom Tri's. This place is well known on Phuket and it is easy to understand why. The facilities are beautiful and the location overlooking Kata Noi beach is post-card worthy. I liked having the elevated views of the sea that the cliffside location provides with the easy access to Kata Noi beach just down the rocky steps. It is also up the hill from Kata town and so you are away from the chaos of street vendors and tourist shops but can easily get to those things with a short 10 minute walk. You are also away from the main beach in Kata, and Kata Noi beach is more private, which we enjoyed. While the staff were all professional, I just did not get the feeling that they were going out of their way to be extra helpful, which for the amount we paid, I was sort of expecting, given my experiences through the rest of Thailand. The staff also did not promptly pick up used room service dishes or cocktail beverages left around the pools, which I thought was somewhat unprofessional, especially since dirty dishes left out in the tropics can attract unwanted insects and other creatures. So while Mom Tri's is beautiful and well known and did deliver on everything that we needed, I feel like they could have tried harder to keep our business.

Mom Tri's was one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand! The staff were exceptional. We were only there for one night and wanted to do some touring around the next day before our flight so they let us keep our room until 5:00 pm helped arrange everything. The food was outstanding, the location perfect and the room very clean and comfortable. Nothing negative I can say about this place. I hope I can return one day!

Personalized Luxury and Attentive Service

We just returned from almost 3 weeks in Southeast Asia, and our favorite hotel in our journey was Mom Tri's. The hotel and location are physically stunning --- secluded, set among the natural landscape above Kata Beach, with beautiful aesthetics and facilities. What really set Mom Tri's apart was the General Manager, Dan, and is absolutely superb staff. Unlike many of the 5 star hotels that we stayed at, Dan and his staff seemed sincerely interested in our comfort and well-being during our stay. It wasn't the overly rehearsed interaction that we found at many of the other properties. The staff was natural, personable, engaging, and VERY attentive to our needs. Incredible sanctuary near great beach

This property sits perched on a hill overlooking a rocky section of coastline jutting out between Kata and Kata Noi beaches. What lovely grounds, terrific service and incredible views from the dining areas, pool and our room's terrace. We completely enjoyed ourselves. Kata Noi is a very pleasant, rather quiet beach with clear water, mild surf and soft sand. We had dinner 3 times in the main restaurant. Wonderful food and service--the best we had on the island. Also very nice for breakfast. We would stay there again, no question.

perfect location

perfect location for sunday walking market as it is on the market street. lovely, quiet rooms and grounds; wonderful breakfast; very helpful and kind staff. the temple walking tour provided by the hotel is definitely worth taking - offerings are brought to a monk and area temples are visited. convenient to restaurants and massage places.

Wonderful hotel, great setting, amazing staff

I booked Mom Tris for our first wedding anniversary and it was the perfect choice. The hotel is beautiful with lovely surroundings and access to a nice, relatively quiet beach. I wasn't aware when I booked it but the hotel has one (if not the) best restaurants in the area and the food was truly excellent. What really made it though were the staff; who were so friendly, helpful and attentive. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.
