Honest review, mixed thoughts and feelings and many of the other reviews say the same when checking.

Upon arriving we were told we would have to pay a deposit in cash or credit card that was not stated in any of the arrival information sent to us (I have checked). I can see it in the accomodation page itself but it's not easy to know and expect to be told upfront

We then were placed in a room which had dirty sheets and ants and insects all over the room, a used contact lens on the side of the room despite a "full clean" being completed.(We have photos). Upon raising this a person came to our room and began to sweep and spray insect repellent everywhere as we tried to sleep. We then asked to move room and was told we may be able to move the next day.

Mickey the manager the next day was very understanding and the experience changed. We were put in a better room and no longer had the issues so can tell you can have a mixed experience in this accomodation

The front desk person who dealt with us the first night Gaccu was extremely unhelpful and believe this is likely the reason for what we faced.

Worth noting this property is on a large hill and the shuttle they provide is not guaranteed despite us booking a slot, so not easy for everyone to get down to the beach

Overall the stay was good but not reflective of a 4 star hotel, breakfast was ok and you can see from some of the reviews others had similar experiences. The pool, view and amenities are nice

Terrible experience staying at Andaman property
Not sure why the property calls itself 5 star when it is barely 3 star at best
Staff is rude and doesn’t respond to requests at all,
We were kept waiting to checkin for 90 mins after we were assured of check in
The bed is absolutely horrible and of absolutely poor quality

The bathtub poses safety risk as there is no step or anti slip arrangement and bathtub is the only shower arrangement available

Amenities are very poor with poor quality toiletries

Food is expensive and is of the worst quality imaginable, passable breakfast and such poor quality of beverages

Absolutely unsatisfactory experience, rather embarrassing as my partner was with me,
Avoid at all costs, unreasonably priced, incorrect star rating and extremely poor customer experience

Property is good value for what you get. Has all the facilities and food/drink you’d want in Thailand. Location is good, however, short walks to and from the hotel aren’t the safest so you need transport even for a 1 minute ride.

Staff were attentive during the first part of my stay but service dropped as the hotel filled up (I asked for fresh towels for 2 days and eventually had to go and grab some from the laundry cupboard myself).

This is the second time we have stayed at Andaman Cannacia Resort and Spa. It truly does not disappoint. Location, staff, amenities and views cannot be faulted. Perfectly positioned with views up the coastline, it is a truly wonderful place to stay in Kata.

I wouldn’t consider this resort 4 stars, it’s 3 stars at best. It starts off poorly with the lack of customer service at the front desk during check in and never improves during our 5 day visit. Concerige can barely be bothered list his eyes off the phone to greet you while coming/going. The breakfast buffet leaves A LOT to be desired, we ate there once on a day we had an early excursion and everything was lukewarm. Food that should be hot and foods that should be cold, all lukewarm. It’s likely due to the fact that the entire hotel lobby and restaurant is open air, with no air conditioning. It makes for a very poor dining experience, especially buffets! Yuck. The hotel grounds were in need of repair, the pool beds and sparse chairs could all use an update. There were fallen leaves everywhere, and we never saw a groundsman during the stay. The honeymoon suite room was very nice aside from the shower that didn’t drain (not at all- bathroom flooded even after we removed the drain cover to help) and the water pressure was so unpredictable from high to low that it actually caused the shower head to jolt up right and spray out of the shower. We couldn’t use the rainfall feature because the knob was broken. Bed was very hard, but that was our experience thru all of Thailand. Final note, my husband & I are in good shape and that hill from the shops/beach/dining areas to hotel is so steep, with the heat and humidity, you’re downright miserable when you arrive. I won’t stay here again

This property is amazing, the staff are so lovely and welcoming. The swimming pool overlooks the beach, offering incredible views. There is also a shuttle every hour to take you down to the beach so you don't have to walk the steep hill. The rooms are spacious and clean. Absolutely loved this resort so much, We didn't leave it for the first day!

The hotel is located close to Kata's main street, although on a very steep short stretch of hill. The hill is walkable as long as you're reasonably healthy and not wearing flip flops. Alternatively the hotel provided a shuttle service to the beach. The hotel is tastefully decorated, with a luxurious reception area to welcome you. The outside areas are spacious and thoughtfully designed, especially around the triple pool area.The beach vista with stunning views over Kata beach is very beautiful and a major reason to choose this hotel. We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite which had a large balcony area with an outside jacuzzi. The upgrade was the icing on the cake for us. It truly enhanced our amazing experience at this stylish hotel.

Overall a great stay and exceptional staff. Treatment of me and my family was outstanding, true hospitality. Special mention to Chilean who helped me track down my lost laundry after I had left the hotel, truly went beyond the call of duty.

Only recommendation I would give is to get a good chef in the restaurant. It’s not easy to go elsewhere without a taxi for dinner so it would have been nice to eat in the hotel more but the food wasn’t really as good as it could be. A new chef and this place is near perfect :)

Nice "thai style" building with great view of the andaman sea from the swimming pool area - so this worth the 4 stars
However our room condition was not even a 3 stars standard - a bathtub that doesn't serve the purpose i.e drain stopper not working, shower has low water pressure, peeling paints toilet, leaking aircond, ridiculously small tv (apprx 26inch) for a deluxe room.
Dont think it's worth spending the extra budget to stay here just for the view

Nice pool area and view of the bay. Cleanliness is soso, staff are underpaid immigrants who look unhappy and mostly forgot how to smile. Some staff are super helpful, some just standing around asking for room number (for breakfast) but not trying to be helpful. Eggs for breakfast were not comparable to the fresh ‘farm to table’ eggs we had in Laos but probably we are too spoilt. Overall a bit of a mixed experience.

Room not ready at 4pm - was made up as a double, not a twin as requested. Whilst we were waiting at reception three separate parties asked why housekeeping hadn’t been to their rooms. Passed through restaurant on way to room where there were uncleared tables. This remained the case for the rest of the day. There were full bins that didn’t get emptied and people left stuff next to them. Not enough staff would be my assessment. The beds around the pool were rotten in parts. The pool itself was good and the views of Kata beach were beautiful. We had wanted to use the gym, but it should have been closed and removed from the list of amenities as it looked as if it had been mothballed. We didn’t end up using the equipment because we thought it looked dangerous.

Would not recommend staying here. The bedding and towels were dirty on the first day when we arrived. While the reception pretends like they want to be helpful, they didnt do anything to address the problems when we advised them. It took 3 days into our stay for them to finally change the sheets after asking them on a daily basis. Housekeeping failed to provide enough towels on 2 days and everyday the new towels had some stains on them. Walls in the room have cracks and soap dispensers have green mildue. Free breakfast was fine but nothing special. Only the common area by the lobby and pools look nice and clean. Also beware that the hotel is at the top of a very steep hill...very hard to do the walk on a daily basis (and I'm fairly young). Convenient that the hotel is however close to the kata beach.

At first, they had given my room away and upgraded me to the villa. The villa was nice but felt a little outdated. I asked if I could switch and they gave me the honey moon suite at no extra cost which was amazing!

The staff are very kind and sweet and go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable. I think they were just getting back into the swing of things post-covid, but overall the experience was great! The view is awesome and the pools are nice! Theres a small hiking path that takes you to the beach or you can use the truck. I called reception from the beach and they came immediately to pick me up.

To improve, I think they could use a few more staff members at the reception and on the grounds. The key cards also stopped working so maybe making sure they are working.

The massage was also great! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. Especially in the seaview suites!

My wife and i were staying in this resort to celebrate her birthday. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival that we got such a big room on arrival. In room jacuzzi was a dream come true. Room was clean and spacious, though could be quieter with double glazed windows. We were woken up by passing traffic in the morning. Breakfast was appetizing but definitely more room for improvement in terms of selection and quality. Resort is very near Kata beach and we were provided with beach towels and carrying basket. A thoughtful gesture!

Hotel was lovely and luxurious, but the only rooms worth staying in are Canna Deluxe & above as the others are in a hotel wing that stinks of a sewer (it's close to one). Staff are exceptionally helpful when you can find them. Pool service is slow. Pool pictures are misleading as there is no swim up bar anymore. Very clean place. Very relaxing stay. Food and drink is exceptional. This hotel is up a very steep hill which gives it stunning view, we only walked the hill once and stuck with tuk tuks. The free bus from reception is intermittent and goes to a scruffy place on kata beach during the day. We loved the hotel and hated the hill and how hard it was to get into town for dinner.

Staff at both the reception and in the dining area were highly service-oriented and friendly.
The grounds of the hotel were kept meticulously clean, fallen leaves etc after rainfall cleared out of the swimming pool.
The free shuttle bus down to the beach area was a bonus.

We stayed 7 nights and loved every minute of it. From a huge room to friendly staff and lovely food. The Andaman Cannacia is highly recommended.
We had breakfast included and choice was delicious. The pool was beautiful. The view of the Andaman Sea was amazing. They had a shuttle bus that dropped you off at Kata Beach which made it easier as the hotel is situated on a hill.
Overall very happy with our time here and will share our experience with our friends and family.

The Canna Deluxe rooms are fantastic and recently renovated! The multi-level hotel pool and jacuzzi is also great. Staff was very friendly and accommodated us way earlier than check-in time free of charge! Amazing views of Kata bay. Downtown (the road along the beach) can be accessed by a (very steep) staircase (open only during daytime) or alternatively by walking down the road. Both take around 5-7 minutes. There were some construction works going on but that didn't interfere with our stay.

This is a nice resort with a lovely view of the ocean. It is walking distance to Kata and restaurants/ shops.
The staff are friendly and the taxi service out the front very helpful.
I did contact the resort previous to our stay about dietary requirements but they made no changes to their menu which was disappointing since I paid extra for breakfast for 2 people for 3 days. I reminded them when we got there and still nothing. Other than that it was a pleasant experience

We loved staying at this hotel. The staff were really helpful - shuttle/taxi service was great - we had a lovely big room and were allowed to check in early. The pool area was great, however it was a shame the pool didn’t seem to be very clean the day we arrived; it was fine on the later days though.

There were only a couple of things we weren’t completely happy with - the deposit had to be paid in cash (if it could have been paid by card, this wasn’t offered), not ideal when you only have limited cash on holiday! The fridge in our room was so full of minibar items that we couldn’t fit our own bottles of water in - would have been nice if there had been more free space.

Overall a lovely hotel in a great location overlooking Karon!

Hotel is on a steep hill but quality of hotel and pool areas more than makes up for this. Hire a scooter to get around and to avoid walking up the hill.

Our stay at Andaman Cannacia was okay, not our favourite. The hotel was lovely enough, beautiful grounds and rooms were lovely and very clean. Gym facilities were great and very new. However it just seemed to missing some of the touches we had experienced at other hotels. The staff weren't as hospitable, nor did they really go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, the breakfasts weren't amazing. The hotel looks amazing in photos, and it's lovely, but unfortunately, just seemed to lack luster. The location wasn't as amazing as implied in the photos. There is a massive hill and only a few scheduled buses to take you to and from the beach and the town center. It was a bit annoying having to keep to a schedule on holiday.

Lovely hotel with polite and courteous staff

This is a lovely hotel. After reading the numerous negative reviews, I was very apprehensive about our stay. However, I needn't have worried - all the staff I met were polite and courteous and most speak some English - Joanne on reception was particularly helpful. In my opinion, the negative reviews are just nit-picking - no hotel is going to be perfect.

Our room was large and spacious, and was cleaned with fresh towels and bed linen every day. Bathroom staples of shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and soap were provided. Also provided were beach bags containing beach towels and flip flops - the beach towels could be exchanged for fresh ones as required. There were robes and umberellas provided in the rooms and we were provided with 2 free bottles of water everyday.

Free wifi is available throughout the hotel and pool area, which was especially appreciated by my teenage Daughters. The pool area is lovely, although renovations lasting one month were due to commence just as we departed - however, the hotel offers a free shuttle bus to their Sister hotels 'Peach blossom' and 'Peach hill' for guests to use their pool areas.

We spent 12 nights during August and the hotel was quiet, we never had an issue getting sun beds or umbrellas. The hotel is positioned on a hillside away from the hustle and bustle of Kata beach area. There is quite a steep hill to navigate to get down to the beach area, but the hotel provides a free shuttle bus to guests.

Enjoyed everything but the walk up and down the hill to get to the town. They did have infrequent shuttle service that didn't exactly stay on schedule so we missed it a few times as it left early.Great pool. Great views. We had a problem with check-in as we didn't get the rooms that we had reserved but they very graciously switched rooms and apologized and gave us complimentary late check-outo. There were warning signs in the bathroom not to drink the water but they provided a couple bottles each day. All in all we were very pleased and wished we had more than 2 nights there.

We only stayed at this resort for 2 hours before moving. Our first room had no air conditioning and ants all over the bed. They moved us to a 2nd room which had no hot water. The shower water shot up into the ceiling. The resort is dated. It was probably nice at one point but needs some serious renovations.

Quiet place close to Kata beach

Overall we had a good stay. The only problem was the hotel transport to and from the beach. Quests must know it's not reliable and they have to budget more for transport costs.

Also budget for daily water supply and snacks to avoid paying for it at higher prices through the hotel.

rooms not good , no views room s on first and 2nd

the hotel room provided was not comfortable
we had gutter smell in all the rooms along the 2nd floor
their was a corkrouch in the room as well as other issues .

we had asked for a change of location , but was offered alternative , which we felt were not suitable .

the rest of the hotel standard was good , the pool and the restaurent .

careful of the location of the hotel , as on a steep hill .

free shuttle bus provided , is a positive side .

Honey moon suite

On arrival we were placed in a room that we did not book when we questioned it at the desk we were told the room we booked was occupied and we could move after breakfast in the morning , this turned into 1 ocklock so we pretty much wasted a day waiting for the room we booked , once in the honey moon suite the view and the room was great , bit disappointed about paying the extra and having to ask for what we booked ,should of really received some refund for the first night but did not want to cause a fuss .

AMAZING!

One of the most amazing experiences I've ever had! Made my reservation 30 minutes before arriving to the hotel, was well received, and welcomed by the staff who informed me I could enjoy the pool and welcome drinks until they found my reservation (which they have not received from Expedia, yet). My room was ready before 2PM, amazing room, did not requested an extra bed, but they gave me one anyways, since we were 3 people in the room. Had an amazing New Year's Eve, the hotel had a huge banquet, and show. Amazing view, amazing staff, amazing experience!

Staff not very friendly, especially the porters and shuttle drivers. Shuttle times are not adhered to and breakfast staff is not keeping up in the mornings. Can be such an nice and better hotel if they can sort out the breakfast staff and the shuttle arrangements. Very nice view from the hotel down to Kata.

Remember, you get what you pay for. We often stay in Phuket and this is about half the price of hotels with a balcony spa and sea views as other places. Good- the views are magnificent and the room large and comfortable. Ok - breakfast basic and limited but you can get an omelet and toast, rooms are clean and staff are friendly. Bad - room service (had twice) was cold and oily (they even charge for ice), old and needs a complete make over(balcony spa broken jets, no shade on balcony, wood work peeling etc), located on a very steep hill (200baht for a tu-tut or rent a bike).

Be aware that they are building another hotel in front of this so some of the views may not be there for long.

All the potential but lack the detail

Hotel was adequate but staff not very friendly and helpful. Breakfast service was below average and free shuttle inadequate as well. Shuttle program was not always followed so impossible to predict at what time to be at pick up point. WIFI disconnects every hour and then it take a few minutes to get it connected again.

Lovely quite location and beautiful pool.

My husband and I had a really enjoyable time staying at Cannacia resort. We upgraded from a garden view to a sea view room for an extra $20 a night which was great. The rooms seem a little worn, however kept relatively clean. The bathroom could have a bit more of a scrub and there was a crack in the bathtub. The blankets were not very nice and could do with replacing as well. Some additional complementary water would be nice too.

Other than these minor things the resort was beautiful and we enjoyed the breakfast, meals and the pool was very clean and relaxing. The staff are beautiful and friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay at this resort again.

awkward to get from the hotel to kata town shuttle beach service only during the day ending about five if you just like a
quiet hotel this is fine but any travel without involving taxis would have to be engineered around shuttle timetable many
people I met there said this is the main drawback other than the fact that the hotel is very popular with the Chinese and
the menu at breakfast reflects that

Great quiet resort

Such a quiet relaxing stay at Andaman.
Highly recommend using the shuttle service as it is a very steep hill to climb but the views you get from the entertaining area at Andaman make it worth it.
Taxi service is great, staff are very friendly and attentive.

Great hotel. Good size rooms, nice pool. 5 minute walk to the beach buts it is up a very steep hill, which is hard work in the heat. The free shuttle bus is an excellent compensation!

Lovely but keep valuables in the safe!

Had a lovely stay, and the hotel was extremely helpful, however on our second day, we found that the maids had stolen money from each of us while we were at breakfast. Obviously this shocked us massively as our accommodation is where we are meant to feel safest and it made us uncomfortable knowing the maids had searched through our stuff to find our money. However we notified the hotel as soon as we were aware of the situation and the manager was very helpful, after a few days of looking into it and reviewing cctv she took the decision to let go of the maid. She also offered us a free massage, however being students we didn't have a lot of money, and needed the money to eat, after explaining this to the manager she offered us free meal coupons for the hotel restaurant which helped us out a lot. Apart from this incident we had a lovely stay and the hotel dealt with our situation professionally and we were very impressed.

Nice hotel but located on a steep hill

nice hotel but breakfast buffet based on fried rice and noodles so not to everybodys pallete..Pesky cat also around your feet durying breakfast looking for morsels.Could do with more entertainment a litttle dull .
