My first stay at Katala Villas and I absolutely loved it ! My room was spacious and comfortable, I had a little deck to sit on outside and also an outside shower which was glorious.
The pool was magnificent and I spent a lot of time there relaxing. I had spring rolls by the pool for lunch , a mocktail and it was delicious.
Breakfast is simple but fresh and also delicious.
It’s a 5-7 min walk to main shops and restaurants and an easy one. I was travelling on my own and felt safe at this little resort.
Overall I had an awesome time thanks to my restful stay at Katala.Happy Happy !! Many thanks

Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff. Pool for sure a 10+, the restaurant by it was super convenient and food was great and affordable.
The staff very helpful and always smiling.
The room was clean, and comfortable. The only thing was that the bed was a little bit uncomfortable, but besides that perfect place to stay.

We stayed for 5 nights at Katala Villas and it was just perfect for us. The villas are conveniently located, just a 5 minute walk to restaurants catering for a range of budgets and cuisines (local warungs and Asian and Western restaurants) and also a supermarket, convenience stores and money changers (we used the Money Exchange inside Circle K on JL Danau Tamblingan). The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa, each with own bathroom, walk in robe and safety deposit box. Each bathroom had an outdoor shower, 2 hand basins, toilet and the main suite also had a bath. Outside was a lovely garden, kitchen and living area, day bed under a gazebo and an inviting swimming pool which was about 1.5metres deep (no shallow end, although there were steps at one end). The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, microwave, hot plate, crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils so you could self cater if you wanted. Our breakfast was included in our package and the restaurant is also open for lunch (until 5pm). With so many good options available nearby and within the complex, we only used the fridge for refreshments! We also enjoyed lunch at the restaurant twice during our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly and discretely serviced our villa daily as we lazed about. We are happy to rebook again for our next trip.

Lovely Suites in good location.

Katala Villas is accessed from a quiet back road. The property opens out to a lovely pool with tropical gardens. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in 2 suites as a party of 2 couples for 9 nights. Rooms are very spacious as is the modern bathroom. We all loved the outdoor rain showers. Toiletries are plentiful and the good breakfasts are cooked to order. The property was quiet and we will definitely stay again. A nice stroll to the main roads to shops, pubs and restaurants. The beach is about 15 minutes away. A taxi costs around A$3 to anywhere on the strip. Take a small torch as stray dogs lie in the narrow road at night although they are timid and won't approach people. We visited Warung De Naksa for drinks and food. The owners are lovely and food fresh, tasty and cheap. Katala Villas lived up to the great reviews which was why we chose to stay there.

Wow! A small resort professionally managed with the utmost attention to details. The small villa / bungalow is perfectly equipped and decorated. The entire place is pervaded with natural quiet and relaxing / regenerating attitude. Staff is friendly and caring for all your needs, from a welcoming check-in, to delicious breakfasts and tolerant check-out. You will need a transport to get to the beach but you have all basic services like cute family restaurants, laundry and garment alterations nearby. I miss the place already and can't wait to be back.

When I arrived at Katale Villas i was sketical because of its location. But behind the exterior was a relaxing, tranquil place to get away and have some peace and quiet. The staff was so very friendly and not overbearing. They really took care of me and made sure all my requests were met. Except, they forgot to send a driver to the airport to pick me up. But that wasn't a problem. You can get a better deal by getting a \"Grab\" which is similar to an Uber.

Fabulous plunge pool

We stayed for two nights with our 18month old baby and he couldnt wait to dive into the pool everytime he sees it. We were given villa no 4, its a 2 bedroom villa (the other room is locked) I would assume the compund is slightly bigger than the 1 bedroom villa. Location is secluded yet convinient, a short walk to sanur main road. The only gripe i have is the intenet/wifi was very poor to non-existent. Please upgrade this or to take out free wifi in your description.

Oh we encountered scary moment when we saw a small centipede crawled out from underneath of our sleeping baby on bed !!! After an hour or so we noticed no bit mark on my baby luckily. But he was crying longer than usual.
When i told the reception, she said its due to rainy season.

Other than the above, the stay was blissful. Would want to go back at some point in the future.

Lovely villas

A great place to stay in a villa with your own pool, kitchen and two complete bedrooms. A waste if you go out doing tourist things or out shopping all day. Take plenty of mosquito repellant. Drink plenty of bottled water. Very difficult access for cars or small buses to take you there. Lanes to it are tiny.

Beautiful resort with the most helpful smiling staff nothing is too much trouble. All the individual suites are large and tastefully furnished and the housekeeping is immaculate. Breakfast is served in the superb gardens with each order individually cooked to your liking and everything is fresh. Thank you Tutoo for the lovely flowers and basket of fruit we received to welcome us back he is always working and never misses anything. The Manager brought us litttle Balinese deserts to try and one hot morning a gift of beautiful fans. Two weeks of utter bliss thank you,

Gorgeous private villa in a local area.

Everything about the villa was perfect, new and very clean. All of the staff were so helpful, we felt very well looked after, especially as they make you breakfast for you in your villa each morning. It's not too far from the beach and only a short walk to the strip where all the shops and restaurants are. There is a big shop near by called Hardies and is very cheap for any supplies you might need. They supply everything you could need in the villa so you only need food really. Is also a great location for most day trips/tours.

The so called hotel is like a compond small suites in a someonens house in the middle of nowhere,it like going through narraow dark filled with stray dogs small side roads to get to the main st,walk to the beach as discribed is NOT true,the beach is worst in bali,the shower is filed with small frogs and lizerds as it is outside the room!!
Breakfast menu is horrible if you ask for fryd eggs or ommlet you get egg,conntinantl or amrican breakfast you get the same thing.

We upgraded from a suite to a villa. The suite was clean and comfortable. The villa perfect for what we wanted, peace and quiet set in well maintained tropical garden. As we have been to Bali many times it was perfect to sit relax and read. The villa was very well equiped with self catering kitchen and good size private pool. Large indoors with good air conditioning. Outside shower.

Situated within easy walk to shops and restaurants. We will defiantly ad Ka Ta La to our preferred accomodation list.

We stayed here last week for three nights. We had read the reviews on Tripadvisor and were looking forward to our short stay in Sanur. I'm assuming most reviews are from guests who stayed in the villas not suite rooms. Unfortunately we booked a suite room. Firstly our air conditioning was not working well but after advising the staff 3 times it was as good as it gets. This could have also been due to the fact there was a 3 inch gap around the feature in the ceiling (which also allowed the mosquitos in at night). Next the hot water in the shower was scaldingly hot & no cold until the hot water ran out. Breakfast was adequate but not elaborate; but that was ok it was served with a smile and in quick time. Our room did not get made up on the second day and I'm not sure if this was because it was Nyepi Day or they just forgot?? The smell from our bathroom at times was nauseating and the shower took a long time to drain away. Our room was located next to a rooster which crowed all day and most of the night. The staff were friendly and appeared to be trying their best. Our advice would be to book a villa if you intend to stay at Katala.

Quiet sanctuary

Well located only a 7 min walk to Hardys supermarket and local restaurants and shops. Located off a small lane we recommend to bring a torch for walking back at night as surface is a bit uneven. We stayed in the private villa #4 with own pool. In our 60's we found the pool difficult to get out of as there are only a few steps before it drops so hard to pull yourself up. It would be fine for fitter or younger guests. The main pool has easy access and has lots of deck chairs. Most of the time we had the pool to ourselves. You can have the free breakfast prepared at your villa or eat at the restaurant. Breakfast is quite substantial consisting of fresh fruit, cereal and a hot breakfast like eggs or pancakes or both.
The villa had a king size bed with night tables and power outlet on each side. They supplied an international adapter. Air con in the bedroom. There is a dressing room with a safe and separate bathroom with very private outdoor shower. Fragrant shower gel, shampoo and body lotion are supplied along with toothbrush and razor and normal bathroom amenities.
Free airport transfers available depending on length of stay.
The onsite restaurant is available for breakfast and lunch only at reasonable prices.
The staff are vey helpful and Ketut particularly is a great asset to the resort. This was our 2nd stay and we will definitely return again.

We love Katala!

We have stayed at Katala Villas & Suites twice now and absolutely love the place. We stayed in one of the suites (number 7) for 5 nights on our last stay. The staff are so friendly and always on hand to help. This time we hired bikes from a business on the way to the beach (who dropped them around when reception called them for us) for $2.50 AUD per day per bike. This is a great way to see Sanur and the motorists are very careful with tourists on the roads. Katala serve a beautiful breakfast every morning and you can usually find a time to have the pool to yourself. This resort is more suited to couples than families but I believe the villas would be good for a family. We will be back!

We stayed in a one bed villa for 10 nights over Christmas. We were totally amazed at the space and layout and found it hard to believe it was just for us! The private pool was amazing.

The villas come with a kitchen area, large fridge, table for four and spacious seating all outdoors with two large ceiling fans. All under cover so no issues if it rained.

Loved every minute of my 'Katala Villa' getaway. Swimming pool and perfumed garden was at the perfect relaxing retreat after a healthy day's pounding of the narrow undulating footpaths, beach walks and hidden lane way discoveries. This was our 2nd stay at Katala (last stayed in March 2014). This time was just as good. We stayed in Villa 2, which was a 1 bedroom villa - but was big enough for 2 adults & a 9 year old. Facilities are fantastic & great value for money. Staff are also fantastic. Since our last stay they have added the Katala Suites, with a large communal pool as well, and a resturant. Close to Jalan Tamblingham & Hardy's supermarket so you can get supplies.

Best place we have stayed in Sanur in more than a dozen visits. Only complaint is that wifi was poor (but last visit it was fine).

Welcome to the hotel Katala

We had a lovely stay at Katala villas. The villa lived up to the pictures, the staff were friendly and helpful, the area was quiet and near the shops and beach.

We had the double villa at the front of the compound, but it is a quiet street, do that wasn't a problem. As another review said there was an unpleasant smell hanging around the bathroom for a few days, but we kept the door closed and it wasn't really an issue.

I highly recommend this accomodation.

Me and my gf stay here for 4 nights. The place is deep inside the area which is a little hard to find for the first time. Actually the main road is just 5 mins from the villa by walk and there are many people walking along the path. However, there are dogs around the neighborhoods and on the roads that my gf was terrified because she is afraid of dogs (even though they look friendly). So we took taxis to and from the main roads everyday.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and we will stay here agin next time.

Not really what I wanted!

The hotel was different! The bed sort of in the middle of the room. The shower outside, stayed there one night out of what we chose which was four nights. Reason being that it was a totally uncomfortable nights sleep! Getting bitten and it was way too hot! Reason for this is the air conditioning not working properly. The staff were adamant that there was nothing wrong with it! But I was adamant that there was. So went to a hotel were the air conditioning worked and had no more rest less nights again!

Only one problem was location of villa is very difficult to find so we were having a trouble to find a taxi driver who knows this place. Katala suites and Villas in Sanur would return

Our stY was great. The pool location and condition was great. The restaurant staff amazing. Front staff amazing. I don't know the name but 1 or 2 staff members from the front were greedy as on the last day, they didn't even leave us alone when we were eating breakfast with the hope to get a bigger tip.

Room comfort could be better as we the sitting area on the side was not comfortable with cushions. The place to park suit cases was over your head and just made the headboard area very crowded and untidy. Ther could be a separation decorative wall between the bed and the storage area.
The open area to the shower brought in baby frogs, lots of little crawling bugs. The bathroom counter was filled with little bugs and the retardant table also was filled with similar bugs.

Tne cleaning staff holds a whole bunch of towels with the support of their head and carry buckets for cleaning holding garbage bags, cleaning supplies, brooms nd clean towels at the same time. They could be given proper trollys to carry their stuff like they do in hotels. Toiletries were great except there was no hand washing soap and we were caring the body soap back forth for washing hands and taking our showers.

Hotel manager wasn't very helpful or friendly especially when my partner was in a Bali hospital and I was making trips to and from by myself. Our villa didn't get cleaned at all one day, and the villa doesn't have a phone in the room, or a restaurant so there is no way to get food unless you walk to the main street (about 10-15 mins). However the 2 bedroom villa has a lovely pool and vibe.

The stay was superb. The staffs was friendly. They wud try to do wat they cud to make our stay more pleasant. Some of the lights in the room was not working. There was no telephone in the rooms. The only telephone was near the pool. So if u r in the room, whether the door bell or phone rings, u might not b able to hear it especially if the tv is on. The breakfast was freshly cooked for us in the room, so it was really great. There is a supermarket just about 5 mins walk. Restaurants r about the same distance too. Internet was available near the pool. The moment u enter the rooms, the signal was really bad. There were times, the wifi was totally out. Apparently it happens quite offen.

You get alot more than what you pay for with this villa. Seldom do you get private villas with a pool all to yourself. Katala villa was great because we had the luxury of our own villa suite with a pool for only around 140 a night. The concierge was very nice and helpful full of smiles. Nothing special.

Will not recommend to friends.

The location is hard to find and inconvenient.

The full breakfast consists of three types of fruit, tea or coffee and an egg cooked to your liking. Found it to be very basic and lacked any variety.

The hotel staff are friendly but poor communication skills and therefore difficult to communicate with them.

Nice place

This place was really nice, we stayed in one of the suites, the room was spacious and clean with a really nice outside shower. The staff was helpful, although not as friendly as at other hotels in Indonesia I've stayed at, but not at all rude, just not as friendly.

Overall the hotel had high standard, except for the breakfast, which felt very basic.
