Gazebo is in an ideal location, close to everything yet you can still have a reasonably undisturbed kick back on Gazebos private slice of beach on their sun lounges or around one of the 2 pools, have a great but fairly basic breakfast, lunch or dinner with a very cold Bintang, served by the most wonderful staff either under cover or at tables set on the beach.
The grounds staff also do an exceptional job and are equally as lovely as the kitchen and reception staff.
The rooms and included bathrooms do certainly need some maintenance along with the water supply, wifi and maybe a little more attention paid to room cleaning, toilets etc . But overall was a great stay and would certainly book there again. (after seeing reviews about next door opening and associated noise levels). Great job Gazebo

This hotel is all about location, and its traditional balinesse setting, with its little ground floor villas, set in beautiful gardens all leading to the beach access. The hotel has two restaurants, three pools and the famous Ikon shopping center 5 minutes walk, along the beach pathway. The front warung is staffed with welcoming ladies and the traditional food was tasty and affordable.
The downside is the accomadation and its facilities all require renovation.We asked to upgrade from a junior suite to a superior suite. Although this suite was an improvement, it still had issues with its bathroom facilities. Im sure it would have been amazing in its day.
Funnily enough,we have now moved to a swanky hotel and we find ourselves missing it already!
Being able to dive into the pool after a walk along the beach and return to your room through its gardens to silence. It should be called the oasis hotel.
If you are not a fussy traveller who would prefer to feel the ambiance of its surroundings, and are happy with clean sheets and towels, then this hotel will suit you.We would happily return however we are hardened campers in our usual life.

The grounds are nice but the whole place needs some work really as it looks old and worn. I have now stayed here twice and the shower pressure was absolutely terrible and I couldn’t have a good shower for my whole stay. I explained this to the staff on my first 3 days every morning but got no progress except to change the shower head. Hey it’s a great location but if you constantly feel unclean then it’s not really worth it.

Central Sanur, love how close the beach was. Cheap!!!! 🎉
It requires some upgrades and cleaning.
Please get the mould off the pool sides.
The Blocked drains made it somewhat unpleasant.
The breakfast was only eggs your way. Very simple but ok. Would have loved a Buffett but not a necessity.
The people especially the grounds elders were beautiful. Thank you for your kind personalities. Thank you for having us.

This resort is pretty sad. The pools are unswimmable due to significant black mould growth (metres of it on the pool walls). Rooms are dirty, dusty, musty, and the bathrooms are filthy. We were booked for 13 days but left after a matter of hours. We had booked a family room but were provided two seperate non-adjoining hotel rooms. I would suggest this is the worst hotel in sanur, if it was in NZ or AU it would have been shutdown. The staff are nice and you feel sorry for them as the lack of maintenance and poor facilities are not their fault.

Prime beach location surrounded by lush gardens with easy access to shopping, restaurants, beach. Tranquil, Balinese character bungalow, two small swimming pools and a beach front cafe. Bathrooms were dated and felt grubby detracting from overall comfort. Daily cleaning of the bathroom was inconsistent and I had to request soap and fresh bathmat. Modernising the bathrooms and improving the cleaning service would bring up the standard of the hotel.

The Gazebo resort grounds are a wonderful green garden with plants everywhere. The gardener takes great care of the grounds.
There are 2 pools which are nice for a refreshing dip
The room was spacious. The only complaint would be the room wss a little musty. The a/c needed to be run before we got there and better if the filter was cleaned.
Other than that, it's a nice place with all kinds of eateries within minutes walk.

The place is a little old and worn down, so don’t expect a high end luxury stay. But it is reasonably priced for what you get.

The shower heads in my room were pretty bad, barely any water came out, needs a good soak or cleaning so it works.

The breakfast is very minimal, not much to choose from except a few slices of fruit, some toast or they can cook you some eggs.

I did eat dinner here a few times at their restaurant, was very cheap and food was good.

Bedding had a few permanent stains on there also and mosquitoes found their way into the room easily with the cracks in the door.

I’m not picky so all this was ok for me, great location and very friendly and helpful staff. But if you are picky, or travelling with a princess, this place is probably not for you. But if you are on a budget and ok with roughing it a little, this is your spot!

It’s has direct access to the walking path by the beach. 2 pools, I didn’t use but thought were nice. The sheets smelled like they didn’t dry right. I got bit by mosquitos while sleeping. They provide fridge but no hot water or coffee. I had to go out for food but there were so many choices. Oh. And there is no WIFI

The property had two different swimmimg pools. One of them was close to the beach and restaurant. There was a little algae growth on the edge of the pool. There were plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. They have beach access with beach chairs as well.

We stayed in the villa rooms for 4 people. There were two twins and a queen. The room was clean and comfortable.

The whole property was very long. Our rooms were in the back right by the beach, but it was a 4 min walk to get back there from the front. It was all pretty, it seemed they had a lot of rooms, but I'm not sure how many had people in them. It just seemed a little older, but we were content with our stay.

Very dirty room. TV was a very old analog Sanyo made 30 years ago which were dumped in rubbish bins last century. Bathroom very dirty. The room was not wirth even $20 per night whereas I paid twice as much felt I paid too much and did not get what photos show. I asked for room change they ignored my request. Do not go there ever.

I loved my stay at Gazebo, all the staff are just beautiful. Pools great, gardens just gorgeous, quiet and peaceful, but so close to everything.
Yes it is need of a renovation, but if there is any issue the staff were very quick to sort it out. I stayed in a suite room, it was large, with a big fridge, cup, glasses, spoons and kettle, no tea or coffee, but that was easy to sort.
Breakfast with some fruits, toasters to toast your own (which I love, as I like my bread really toasted), tea and coffee, jam, butter, you can order eggs any way, pancakes and a fruit juice.

On arrival we were taken to a room obviously not the one we had booked. After discussion with checkin in manager and him assuring us it was the same value room we insisted on seeing the room that we had booked and confirmed. It was vastly different. we were disappointed he had lied to us. In the end we were given the correct room. This wasn’t a great start to our stay at the Gazebo Beach Hotel. Next morning we noticed the sides of the main pool were covered in black spot algae and the tiles at the bottom of the pool had green algae this is quite unhealthy for guests swimming in it. all in all if management should take more pride in the facilities it would be a good resort as location is excellent.

The Gazebo is in an excellent position stretching from the beach to the main road. This gives easy access to everything. The staff are polite and helpful. The pool was clean and plenty of long chairs for use. It has a true Balinese feel to it as is it's style. Sadly the rooms are getting a little tired and dirty. They need an update and soon! Our room leaked when it rained ... no sealer around the air con wires that come through the wall!!

The Gazebo is in a great location, beach front and in the centre of Sanur..
The gardens are amazing and very well cared for.

The Gazebo Hotel is Bagus!

We have been staying at the Gazebo Hotel 'on and off' for 35 years. We have always enjoyed our stays there and the management and staff are eager to please and always welcome us back. The hotel is ideally located on the beach and within walking distance of the large Hardy's Supermarket, and two great beach markets. I lives up to it's three star raring and is economically priced and accessible to. And yes we're returning again in May 2020 to the Gazebo Hotel.

I admit to a bias as I have stayed at this property many times over nearly 40 years. It is an older property and if you want a minimalist modern aesthetic this is not for you. It has a variety of rooms/bungalows some of which are tired but many refurbished, so you do get what you pay for. Things will not always be quite right but will always be sorted with a smile, Most of the staff are long term and it has many guests who are treated as family after multiple stays. It has the most magnificent tropical gardens and direct beachfront which are a serious plus in Sanur. Many friends have tried other beachfront properties along the Sanur strip but we all agree that Gazebo is value for money. You do feel like you are in Bali at Gazebo but like everything in the real Bali small things like dripping taps will be fixed in Bali time! If you want 5 star go to the Bali Hyatt - or visit the Gold Coast....

The property has the most fantastic gardens, oozing tranquility and peaceful atmosphere and is right on the beach. It also has two sparkling clean pools of a generous size, staff are very friendly and helpful. our villa (Kayu) was large, with fridge. microwave, good aircon, comfy bed, kettle...but no cutlery, bottle opener, glasses, bowls...just a couple of plates.
Drainage in the kitchen sink was very slow, toilet cistern required fiddling for the water to fill up, and for the first three days there was a bad smell in our villa (and in the one next door to us, too - the villas opposite us were ok). In fairness, we believe the smell originated from a (sewerage?) pipe behind the hotel - the hotel's solution was to hang air fresheners in front of the air conditioner and the fan. Eventually the smell disappeared.
Buffet breakfast was disappointing: lacking variety/choice: by way of fruit there was only melon and pawpaw (despite mango, pineapple and banana being in season); only balinese coffee and tea, no cereal or yoghurt; only toast bread and 1 type of jam (same every day); you could get 2 eggs any style , but only plain omelette and plain pancake; there was also fried rice;

We will probably be back, because the grounds were just so spectacularly beautiful and peaceful, the location perfect, and the staff super friendly...and now that we know the weak points (breakfast) we can plan for that, and stock up/supplement the meager fare or go elsewhere.

Gazebo is located in the heart of Sanur Beach and very handy to markets, cafes and restaurants. Sadly the property is a little run down these days and the pool area is need of a makeover, The restaurant is a great location right on the beach, but desperately in need of a new lease of life with a renovation and a new menu. All the staff at the Gazebo are wonderful and the gardens are beautiful.
The accommodation costs match the type of accommodation you wish to stay in. We stayed in a saver room, however for 16 days it was a bit long to stay in a room without a verandah. We will go for a standard room next time.

We booked a basic room but immediately upgraded it when we arrived.
Wifi is not available in most rooms and we chose not to eat breakfast in the hotel as it was very ordinary.
The bathroom needed some serious maintenance on the shower, toilet (the cistern constantly ran) and the bathroom desperately needed a refurbishment.
The place is saved by the lovely staff and the position on the beach.
The new “groovy” Beach Club next door is an irritation with constant loud thumping music going all day.
We love this part of Sanur but will stay further up the beach next time.

Gardens are beautiful & two pools, & right on beach is a bonus. Hotel next doors music was loud. Breakfast was buffet no bacon served & 1 egg per person, Has books you can swap.

I stayed in a super saver room and loved it!! The room was old yes but couldn't fault it for cleanliness. Location was perfect for us! Pools and facilities were amazing, WIFI left a bit to be desired so if you are planning on using this as your only form of communication you may have trouble as it doesn't seem to reach a lot of sections of the hotel.

We were definitely disappointed with our stay here. The location was great but sadly that's about all. The staff did the best with what they have but the management were rude and completely uninterested in the fact they put us in the wrong room type for which we had paid. The bed was old and just terrible with a bedspread that was probably 20 years old. Our sheets were never changed in the week we were there and the general cleaning was horrible. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere better.

Seven days of Heaven in Sanur

We had a lovely week's holiday in Sanur. The Gazebo Hotel is situated right on the beach and very handy to cafes, restaurants and markets. The property is getting old now and needs a \"facelift\" I have been holidaying in Sanur since 1987 and have seen a lot of changes in the hotel property and the area. Hardy's Supermarket down the road was disappointing this year, as their stocks were low and staff indifferent whether they served you of not. However, at AU$38 a night we would definitely stay there again. The rest, pool, walks, shopping, reading and dining out are great.

Upon arrival to the gazebo hotel we were taken to our room and it had a horrible mouldy smell. The room was old and unfit to stay in. We were offered a different room that was not much better. We didn’t stay and moved onto a different resort. We were travelling in a group of 8 and we all left very disappointed.

I am used to staying in 4 star hotels plus, but decided to try one at a lower level. Bummer :) They are keeping up the property fairly well (lawns, trees etc.) but neglecting the buildings and rooms. Staff is super friendly, got an immediate upgrade to a room with WIFI, as apparently the one I booked didn't have WIFI, despite claiming so on the booking page. But even that Wifi never worked. Yes, easy to log on, but too weak to open any internet site - therefore useless.
Luckily, they got another main Wifi to use pretty well everywhere (from the lobby all the way to the beach), which worked great for my smart phone, but still too weak for the PC.
Ants on the wall in the corner of my room traveling in a constant stream.
Tiny little table to place my PC with only a small stool. I had to bring in a chair from the patio.
Mini-safe locked with a key instead of your own code.
Very old and not clean cabinet to hang your clothes.
My fridge had a broken temperature adjustment and froze all my drinks. 3 cans of Cola blew up (plus frozen water bottles) and created a big mess. They replaced the fridge, but never bothered to replace my drinks.
No toothbrushes in the room - bring your own.
Can't sleep beyond sunrise, as the curtains are super thin.
AC blows right on the bed.
Had no hot water on the first evening shower, but they corrected that the next day.
No room service - got to go out to get food at the hotel beach restaurant or any restaurant outside.
Maybe I am just too spoiled :

hotel is full of Balinese charm

Older style hotel with lovely gardens and older style rooms. If you're looking for modern hotel with the latest facilities maybe not the hotel for you, but if you want to experience older style Balinese charm with friendly helpful staff and well maintained gardens to wander and soak up the Bali atmosphere it would be perfect - just do not expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

Great friendly little hotel right on the beach!

We loved this place. Authentic Balinese decor. Nice pool, and ok breakfast. The whole place could really use a spruce up, especially the bathrooms. We had a cute outdoor bathroom which was lucky as the main bathroom was terrible. Never the less, we really liked it and would happily return.

Gazebo Hotel lovely typical Balinese style.

we had booked this hotel for four weeks, but because our previous hotel stay was so bad, we went to the Gazebo two weeks earlier than booked. they gladly allowed us to take our room earlier than we had booked. The hotel is ideally positioned for places to eat, and shopping. There were not enough sun beds at times, but learnt they were painting twelve new beds for the beach. The beach is not private but is actually a public beach, which means there are other beds available for hire, so not exclusive use for Gazebo Hotel, which seems a shame. Some staff very helpful and friendly, but some not quite as friendly, some even looked like they did not want to be where they were. Gardens are lovely, and the work it takes to keep them lovely is down to the hard work done by the gardeners. Lovely typical Bali hotel, which are becoming fewer as the big new hotels take over Sanur, which is sad to see. Keep the culture, keep the traditional hotels.

Nice gardens...shame about the rest

This hotel is in definite need of renovation and needs some advice from an external hospitality expert. The staff whilst helpful are in a 1970s timewarp . Linen and towels do not last forever but unfortunately many locals dont understand this statement. The hotel is not worth the money !!

Nice hotel right on the beach. We stayed in their 'honeymoon' suite. Spacious room overlooking the ocean and the hotel's beautiful gardens. The facilities were outdated however. Shower was poor and bed sheets weren't big enough to cover the king size bed.

Staff were all wonderful and breakfast was basic but delicious.

Be aware of the hotel masseuse who sits by the pool and is quite pushy.

Would recommend for anyone who favours location over facilities.

Tired hotel in need of a makeover.

Overall a tired hotel in need of renovation but well located and set in beautiful gardens.Our hot water did not work and we had to request a change of mattress. Fresh linen does not appear clean and the room was very dark.
Wifi only available in the hotel reception (this is 2015!)and of patchy output.Whilst lounges are available on the beech for guests, the number is limited and they are often rented out to non hotel guests.

Not modern, not clean but cheap

We booked a family room and got a 2 room challet, but one of these rooms was an entrance room where 2 folding beds where placed (quite unconfortable). The aditional bath had a toilett but no wash basin and no real shower. The main bathroom was ok, but door could not be closed. The shower was in the main room and warm water flow started 10 minutes after turning on..with almost no pressure.
2 aricondition: was fine!
Breakfast: i would give it one star max...coffee undrinkable.

We visit Bali at least once every year and would not consider staying anywhere else. The staff and service provided are excellent. The Gazebo is centrally located to everything we seek.

Great value for beachfront location

We stayed in the villa closest to the beach and thoroughly enjoyed it.It had 2 separate bedrooms and the bathroom upstairs which was great.If someone wanted to go to bed you didn't have to creep around or sit outside. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Away from the maddening crowd and noise, friendly, safe, quiet. The ideal relax and rejuvenate spot with easy access to food, markets, shopping trips, tourist trips. Excellent unobtrusive, friendly efficient staff. Thoroughly enjoyable for all ages.
