Pool was DISGUSTING and could not swim in it. Brown slime all over the filters and floors, human hair floating all over the pool. Green stuff staining the walls of the pool. And there was no hot tub and falsely advertised. The room was OK except the bathroom; there was black stains on the door and floors that a simple scrubbing with bleach could have removed. Was not worth $205 for the night.

There was no hot tub as advertised. The pool water did not look clean so we did not use it. Our bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned and there was blood on the wall. The elevators are currently broken and we were not notified of that at check-in. It would have been nice to have been offered a room upgrade or comped breakfast for these inconveniences, but neither were offered.

There was only 1 of 4 elevators in operation. The last nite of our stay none of the elevators were. Next operating. Next morning when we checked out elevators were still not working & we had to use. the hstairs to get down to 1st floor while hauling our luggage.

I booked this specific hotel literally only for the hot tub and pool. Both websites has a photo of hot tub and state there is one on site. No one wanted to help me. This is false advertising and I’m very upset about it. I feel like I got scammed. Not to mention no working doors or elevators. I came to enjoy myself with my kids and couldn’t even do that

The Expedia website says it has a hot tub/ whirlpool. That is wrong, the hotel only has a small pool. Hotel staff stated that they have no control over what Expedia advertised. Expedia customer service denied a refund in spite of false information. I will never use Expedia again!

The hotel is in need of numerous great repairs. Upon arriving there is no heat in the lobby or hallways. While it was about 15 degrees outside the employees had to wear coats and hats. Then they charged my credit card twice and for the wrong amount. I had to go to the front in the morning and spent valuable time while on my vacation disputing charges.

In the room there was plumbing backups in the sink and gurgling from the commode. The bathtub did not drain water and the toilet ran and did not flush. Luckily my husband is a stallion and came to the rescue to fix the flapper in the toilet tank. This was extremely inconvenient and when I reported it no one from maintenance came

There wasn't any heat in the long hallways to our room. I literally had to put my puffer jacket on to go down to the lobby to get coffee in the morning. The staff at the front desk had several space heaters on under the desk and they were still freezing. I was there for a week and during my entire stay it was never fixed.
Only one of the 3 elevators worked..the internet was as slow as molassas and when I asked about a faster connection, I got a deer in headlight expression from the woman at the front desk. She called over the janitor, who was the IT guy, and he didn't know what I was talking about. I had to find the closest library miles away so I could meet a work deadline.

The lobby and hallway rugs were old and dirty. And the pillows were like rocks. I had to got to Target to buy new ones or risk a serious neck injury.

I am astonished that Marriott has lost its pride in this property, which was once considered the best hotel in the area. Its really a shame.
Everyone I mentioned my disappointment to said that it had gone down hill years ago.

I will say the staff tried to make lemonade from this withering lemon which feel from the tree years ago.

Got there they couldn’t find my reservation at first. Took them about 5 minutes to find it. The room was just ok. Thought for the money it would have been a lot nicer and updated. Took a shower and half way through the water stopped coming out of the shower head and had to try to finish by splashing water from the tub spout. The place had 4 elevators but 3 were out of order. The only good thing was it had a restaurant inside the hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel about ten times.
The front entrance revolving door was broken last time.

Two out of three elevators were out of order from Saturday through Wednesday.

Trash bins were overflowing with garbage piled up around the base.

The breakfast had lukewarm eggs, and the bacon was as hard as a rock. The bagels were even harder, and the English muffins were stale.

I had to pull two long hairs out of my mouth from the eggs!

The shower drain was clogged, and the water pressure dropped by at least 75% after five minutes.

The furniture is all chipped, the wallpaper is peeling in the hallways, and the paint is peeling.

It appears that not one dollar has been spent on maintenance.

I will never stay there again, and neither should anyone.

We were in town for a wedding and our room had no hot water and the drain in the shower did not work. Imagine our surprise to hear that NONE of the wedding guests had hot water or a drain. In chatting with other guests, we learned that this is common for this hotel and that we should have stayed elsewhere. We'll definitely remember this next time we are in town.

2 of the 3 elevators not working. Leaks in faucet ans shower. I asked for extra pillows at 2pm with the woman on the floor then at 330 i called the front desk to ask again. IT IS NOW 9PM AND STILL NO PILLOWS!!!! Shower spout had peices falling off of it. Rusty sprinkler heads. TOWELS WERE LIKE SANDPAPER AS WELL. I have stayed here in the past and it seems like there's no maintenance being done on this hotel. Absolutely horrible

The front desk took my credit card for “incidentals” when I checked in. The lady then proceeded to bill me for a full night, even though I had already paid through hotels.com.

I have called multiple times to get the issue corrected and have not been called back, or have been left on hold indefinitely. I will now be disputing this charge through my credit card.

Terrible customer service and inept employees at the front desk. Avoid this hotel unless you enjoy double paying for your stay.

I booked a stay at the Marriott Trumbull in Shelton, Connecticut, and let me just say… this is not Marriott standards. I checked in late Thursday night, November 13, after a long flight. I was exhausted and ready to knock out, but the moment I lay down, the bed hit me back. All I felt were springs and coils with a deep sunken hole in the mattress. It was rough.

From the bed to the room itself, nothing about it felt like Marriott quality. I was too tired to put up a fuss, so I dealt with it, but I got zero sleep that night. Mind you, I was in town for my uncle’s funeral, so rest really mattered.

On Friday, I mentioned the issue to the front desk, and to their credit, the staff was friendly and moved me to another room. The bed was a little better, but then I found hair in the shower — and trust me, it wasn’t mine. The first room also had a grimy ring around the faucet, and I still can’t believe tubs like that are in circulation. The whole place just looks rundown and dated. Definitely giving motel vibes.

Once you notice one thing, you notice everything. The elevator area on the third floor was dirty. Carpet everywhere, dingy bed skirt in Room 367, that fabric sofa that has CLEARLY seen better days… it was giving “absolutely not.”

The staff was nice enough and did what they could, but the property itself needs a serious overhaul. Nothing about this hotel reflects Marriott’s usual standard of comfort and cleanliness.

I stay at Marriott often and this is the last time

Horrible! I booked a double room, was told there was no doubles at check in and was force to squeeze into a king bed with 3 people while someone slept on a smelly dirty cot. The best part, I was charged for both rooms due to their own mistake. I never write reviews but this hotel was absolutely horrible. Dirty rooms, very disrespectful staff, and does not provide a service they promise when you pay.

Housekeeping service was a failure. The first of our four days they missed our room entirely: we were comped a free breakfast. The next day I had to chase down a service cart for washcloths. The body wash ran out and was never refilled. On the last day of our stay no towels were provided. Fortunately I had hung one on the back of the door so my husband and I could at least share a used towel after our soap-free showers. We couldn't call the front desk for help because the in-room phone was broken. Noisy guests laughing and running up and down the halls kept us awake two nights. At checkout we couldn't be provided with a review of charges since the printer was broken. Considering one rents a room for a place to sleep and shower, this hotel failed on both counts. We will never stay here again and our family won't recommend it either.

The property is fine. A typical Marriott. The majority of things are good. But, when we went to sleep, we had to turn the A/C on. It sounded like a freight train until 2AM at which time it stopped working. The quiet was great, but it became too warm to sleep comfortably. Then we could hear what I believe was the A/C unit in another room constantly turning on then immediately turning off, rinse/repeat....ALL night long. I didn't sleep from 2AM onwards. You got to a hotel to sleep... And this was not good for sleeping.

Don’t stay here. The front desk staff tried to be accommodating when the first room was not clean in time for our arrival
It was later in the evening so the room should have been ready for guests but when we went in there the table tops were dirty and sticky clearly someone had spilled something on the desk and it was never cleaned.
We got moved to another room upon request . This room appeared clean at first but when I went into the bathroom there were hairs on the floor from the previous guests. Gross. I also found two bugs in the bathroom. There was a vent in the bathroom that looked old and dirty that’s probably where the bugs were coming in from… and the doorway to the bathroom had rusted out on the bottom. Unsafe.
It was late by that time so I didn’t ask for another room change but I was really uncomfortable in the room and didn’t sleep well at all thinking there are probably more insects in this room I didn’t dare use the bedding.
At checkout I told front desk and they apologized for everything and gave me a small credit to my account ( that equaled $50)
I would never ever stay here or go to this area again
The whole place had a bad vibe and unfortunately almost ruined my whole weekend the only saving grace was it was sort of close to a beach area and we found a nice restaurant about 10 minutes away

This stay was not good.

One of the main reasons I booked this Marriot was the hot tub. When I arrived, I went to see the hot tub and it was closed. Asking around I discovered it had been closed for weeks or months. They still have it in their website. VERY MISLEADING, and far beneath the usual Standards of a Marriot.

The driveway leading into the property seems as though it has been carpetbombed. There were dozens of unavoidable, deep potholes. I had a rental, but would have been furious had I driven my own car.

The building itself is run-down at best, as I would expect from a Red Roof Inn no in Daytona Beach or a 1980’s Las Vegas strip hotel.

Our room was not serviced on one day. They did leave a typed note informing us the room was not “able to be serviced” that day. Marriot? Seriously?

The AC was not very effective and the room was always on the verge of being uncomfortably warm.

There was only one hook to hang a bath towel, and no towel rack. They give you three towels but only leave you one towel hook?

The paint on the wood, on the doors, and door frames was scratched up throughout the hotel showing many years of neglect.

To add insult to injury, I asked the hotel restaurant to borrow a metal spoon so I could eat some Hagen Dasz in my room, and I was told I couldn’t have a spoon unless I ordered food from the restaurant, as though I couldn’t be “trusted” with a used spoon. Overall nowhere near basic Marriot Standards. Won’t be back ever.
