Everything was good except the check in. The persons behind the desk couldn’t figure out how to get my card to approve $150.00 deposit when I the reader kept saying “declined”. I knew I had more than enough in the account to let it go through - even called the bank to make sure I had the funds. The answer was “yes” I did. Then another person who was far more experienced came to the desk & she knew exactly what to do & I put it through & it was approved. I was so grateful. I couldn’t understand why my card was declining when everytime I stayed there it was “always” approved. Again besides that incident everything was good.

The room was nice, although the heater in our unit was very hot, even at the lowest setting. The hotel was very nice, the parking garage was a nice bonus since it snowed and was quite cold and windy during our stay. The only complaint I might have is that the door to the pool was left open, which allowed for the chlorine smell to come up into the 2nd floor areas, since they are open to the ground floor.

One elevator was out of service for entire 5 days. Took SEVERAL minutes to get the elevator with one out of service and having to share the only working one with housekeeping. Not sure of the policy, but only had room cleaned one day (I understand Christmas). Would have liked fresh coffee pods and towels daily.

After flight delays and long car rental lines, we arrived at our hotel at 3 am to be told that the hotel had been oversold, and we did not have a room. This was extremely frustrating as I had booked my room well in advance. Kindly, the night attendant offered us a room that they couldn’t offer due to a burn in the carpet. It was a king only so my daughter had to sleep on the floor- they could not even offer us extra bedding. The next morning, I was told that I needed to “hurry down” if I wanted my double room for the second night. Seems they would have prioritized giving me a room since they sold my original room out from under me. The hotel itself seemed good but this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. At the very least, they should have communicated with me so I wasn’t facing finding another room at 3 in the morning. Very scary for a mom and her two daughters to be in a place that is u familiar to them and out looking for a room to stay in the middle of the night. At the very least, I should have been refunded my first night by the hotel but they offered nothing

The most unique thing for a Garden Inn, was the \"lounge\" in the lobby. I ended up hanging out there on. Friday night and I had a pizza delivered to me there. Saturday after,
I was back in the lounge to tailgate for a concert in New Haven, back in time for a LATE NIGHT BURGER!

I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in New Haven and overall had a decent experience. The staff stood out with their excellent customer service—friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The hotel grounds were well maintained and clean, which added to a welcoming atmosphere.

My room was tidy, but there were a few issues worth noting: a visible stain on the carpet and a cracked sink. While these didn’t ruin my stay, they do suggest the rooms could benefit from some updates and renovations. The bar area had very limited food options, which was a bit disappointing, especially after a long day.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel itself was clean and functional. If the rooms were refreshed and the bar menu expanded, this location could easily elevate the guest experience. For now, it’s a solid choice with standout service and a clean environment.

Unfortunately, my experience was extremely negative, and I do not recommend this establishment to anyone.

I was accompanied by my children and my elderly mother-in-law, and upon arriving at the hotel — before the final check-in time — I found the door locked. When I used the intercom, the receptionist informed me that the hotel was fully booked and that no rooms were available. I explained that I had a confirmed and prepaid reservation, but she said there was nothing she could do.

I requested that she arrange accommodation at another hotel, since I had already paid for my stay in advance. However, she told that all hotels in the area were full and that I would need to travel to a hotel about one hour away.

I emphasized my situation and asked her to resolve the issue, as my family and I were extremely tired after an eight-hour trip. Only after almost an hour of waiting and much insistence did the receptionist inform me that a room had suddenly appeared in the system.

This situation was completely unacceptable and caused great stress, discomfort, and insecurity for my family. I expected to receive professional service and a minimum level of respect for the customer, especially considering that the reservation was paid and confirmed in advance.

Extremely overpriced for what you get. I paid about $400 per night after taxes, and it was not worth it. Check-in staff were unfriendly and unprofessional, making my daughter and me uncomfortable. While the bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean, the carpet was sticky and gross. Both nights were filled with noise (barking dog, loud guests, and constant highway traffic) making sleep very difficult. For this price point, I expected much better. I will not stay here again.

The reception we got at the front desk was terrible. The host was rude and disrespectful. I couldn’t even hear her talking she was so quiet. I asked another host for a shower chair, she never mad eye contact with me and said I think so. She asked my room number 3 times. I called the restaurant for their hours the person answering was so unpleasant. The one guy who was great was the fellow in charge of the breakfast. I will not return!!

Paid extra for a room with a jetted tub. There was a remote on the wall that was rigged up to turn it on and an inadequate plug that wouldn’t hold water even for a few minutes. We were woken up by the fire alarm because someone decided to smoke mj at 4 am. Called front desk with no answer then went down to front desk to discover no one was even there. The alarm went off for 20 minutes. My husband took the smoke detector off the wall to see if it was the batteries immediately put it back up with no known damage whatsoever. I was charged $250. There is 0 policy for touching the fire alarm. This is completely unjust
