Loved the whole vibe of this resort. Was so peaceful and quiet! So glad we rented a car and drove down from the airport for our first few nights in Fiji! Super cute resort, simple charm, lovely people!

I escaped not just to a beach, I escaped myself.
My anxious thoughts vanished, time slowed, and certain peace overflowed and consumed my existence.
In this space I found the time to hear the sounds of nature, I found myself appreciating the texture of the sand and grass under bare feet, I found clarity and a sense of cleaning away the burden of the past few months of daily life in a wash of cool crystalline water as I snorkeled around the cove, over coral reefs and inlets, but most of all, I found my breath.
The perfection of Mango Bay comes from its imperfections. Its charm deeply embedded in its character, the people, and its connection to place.
For those who prefer more factual detail;
# Brilliant communication including organizing all airport transfers, tours and activities.
# Great amenities - with sea kayaks and snorkeling gear on hand at no cost.
# Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds and real beach side villas.
# Loved the outdoor shower - was the perfect way to start and end a day, under the sun or stars with complete privacy.
# Attentive staff, great rotating food menu's and fantastic selection of drinks (shots especially)
Is it perfect, no, is it rough around the edges, yes.... but this is what makes it special, and this is what makes it unique.
Can't wait to get back to a place that made me feel like I was home.

Quiet and secluded. I stayed for 5 nights.. there was one couple there when I arrived in the evening, and they left the following morning so I had the place to myself for 3 nights 😁 Staff were friendly. The owner was helpful in organising an excursion for me personally.
Pablo (one of the owners dogs)was my sidekick for the trip, he followed me about...cute. I really appreciated the on sight activities provided (as and when required)
I had waited 50 years to go to Fiji, and I wasnt disappointed! Beautiful island, with friendly people.
The accommodation could do with a bit of a facelift, but for the price, just think basic (Travelodge quality)
The continental breakfast was ok. The evening meals were, average I preferred the pasta dishes overall...and wish I'd stuck to 4

Mango bay was not what we expected from photos, beautiful setting but accommodation terrible, stayed in a beachfront burie, cockroaches in room, very dirty, toilet not able to flush and appears to have been this way for some time and same for others, outdoor shower left grit in hair, left early due to unsanitary conditions, but were declined a refund, Staff, especially Tina were lovely, manager didn’t acknowledge us or deem to discuss concerns on
leaving, not worth the money

We booked 7 nights but only stayed 2, was happy to cut our loses and move to a more upmarket resort nearby. I really don't like to write bad reviews about our stays. My big mistake when booking here was only to read the good reviews. I should have read the bad ones which were pretty spot on in hindsight.
Having said that , i believe some people might like it here although i found it isolated and dreadful and couldn't get out quick enough.
Just not my cup of tea , expected way better when you consider the rates are almost on par with the more well known resorts.

Fantastic stay, a small very quiet resort with a very personal touch. Owner extremely helpful and always available. Staff are amazing with a very personal touch.
Accommodation was a rustic cabin with an open air bathroom, which gave the stay a really rural feel.
If you’re looking for a modern shiny ceramic and chrome type hotel then this wouldn’t be for you.
Overal a great vacation.

Ed and the Mango Bay team went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay and an amazing week in Fiji.

We stayed in an oceanview bungalow which was close to the pool and restaurant/bar area and really comfortable with a lovely outdoor shower and the convenience of a fridge in the room.

Continental breakfast was included in our booking served from 7:30-9:30. It had the normal coffee/tea/juice/toast and cereal and also included fresh fruit and a local pastry. Food is available all day and is lovely and fresh with daily specials which always include a local fish recipe. The cocktails are great too and you can’t beat having a pina colada in the pool!

The pool is lovely and big with sun loungers and a couple of cabanas. There are standup paddle boards, kayaks and snorkels/masks which guests can use for free at high tide. You can also walk along the beach/reef at low tide.

Ed was really knowledgable about local tours and booked the tubing tour for us (not to be missed) as well as giving us advice on getting the local bus so we could do the Bula coffee tour (also recommended) and see the town of Sigatoka. We also arranged a transfer direct with the hotel which was much easier (and cheaper) than using a local company.

Overall we had a greet stay and were made to feel really welcome and part of the Mango Bay family!

Mango bay resort is a beautiful private little resort with bungalows in a lovely tropical garden. The beach is right in front of the restaurant for a beautiful view and free snorkelking, kayaking and paddle boarding in the private bay. Food was delicious (love the Fish tacos), prompt and very affordable. Ed and his team are very friendly and go above and beyond to help you and make it a great experience to stay there. We just got home yesterday and are already missing the place.

We booked Mango Bay for the location, between Sigatoga and Suva. The proprietors Ed and Jen were always approachable and really liked that they would spend time getting to know their guests.
The grounds were well landscaped at all times and the canoes, snorkeling and paddleboards in excellent condition.
All the staff from Reception, House Keeping, Kitchen and the Bar made you feel so welcome with happy smiles as they went about the day.

We really liked our stay here, staff is friendly and the owner dropped us at the bus station 2km further. It was quiet, we were about 8 people at the same time for the entire resort. The garden bure was huge (2 bathrooms) and confortable. The resort is isolated but perfect for some rest. Snorkeling & kayaking were free and the reef was magical. Restaurant was good but sometimes not in huge quantity. We recommend this place to anyone who like peace.

I can't say enough good things about this resort. We arrived late because of flight delays but they had someone waiting for us to greet us at the resort gate. They kept the kitchen open so we could have something to eat. Right from the start, everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. We stayed in an ocean front Bure and it was everything I was hoping for. A thatched hut, shower outside to give an authentic experience. The food was the best we ate in Fiji and reasonably priced . Mango, Kelanie and Pablo the resident dogs are there if you are missing your fur baby at home and so super friendly. Atmosphere is Fiji time so if you want to relax you have the spot. Plenty of water equipment to snorkel, sea kayaking, day trips as much or as little as you want. Ed the owner is very accommodating to you needs so if you forgot anything, ask Ed. I wish we were closer than half way around the world away or I would go more often. Thanks Ed and staff for an amazing experience.

We loved our stay at Mango Bay. Stunning setting, beautiful gardens, great friendly staff, snorkeling outside the resort when you were experienced enough to venture out and look. Resort arranges boat trips for you but really you can amuse yourself without going far. The food was great and everything was reasonably priced.

The resort was exactly what we were looking for, secluded , quiet and relaxing.we experienced a bit of the Fijian way of life . The Bure are very simple, both furnitures and ammenities are very eco friendly,if you’re looking for luxury this is Not for you.The owners Jen and Ed are extremely friendly and will bend backwards to accommodate you and help you in any way and together with all their staff they make an exceptional team.We loved their three dogs Mango, Pablo and Calana. We did snorkeling, kayaking, standing paddle boarding . They also have a swimming pool and a private beach…if you want to get away from all the luxury we strongly recommend Mango Bay.

I loved my time at Mango Bay Resort. Such a beautiful property, a bit off the beaten path but that was perfect for some good r&r for my last few days in Fiji. Upon arriving, all the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Tina, Ili, Alicia, Naomi, Meli, Seta, and the others were all so pleasant and great to talk to throughout my stay. The resort owners, Ed and Jen, were also great to talk to and made lots of good suggestions of things to do while on the Coral Coast. Ed even connected me with his tattoo artist, as getting a tattoo while in Fiji was an important to-do on my list. The resort dogs, Mango and Pablo, both had such cute personalities and definitely added to my stay. I highly recommend Mango Bay Resort for anybody looking for a quiet, remote, and restful stay while on the Coral Coast. I'll definitely be back! :)

Mango Bay is a quaint and smaller resort with a family feel. The bures are older...but I believe that's what lends to its charm. Our bure was thoroughly cleaned every day. The bed was very comfortable. The Fijian staff were friendly and caring. The food was fresh...and prepared to our preferences. Mango Bay is about half a mile from the road...which makes it a quiet location very close to the beach and ocean! Our bure faced the beach...and a short, 200-foot walk put my feet in the warm Pacific waters :) If I ever get the chance to return to Fiji...I would definitely stay at Mango Bay again!

The property is gorgeous, especially at sunset and full tide. Snorkeling was amazing, we enjoyed the complimentary activities such as daily family fish feeding, Java ceremony, pineapple smashing, and the water sports, such as snorkeling, stand up paddle board and kayaking. They also offer a free Dive class, and other paid activities.

Had two kids so booked specifically because of pool and advertised Wifi in all rooms. But reality was NO wifi in rooms and pool broken green-brown and closed with no prior warning. We were told at check-in that it had only been broken for two days and would be fixed the next day. Reality was that it had been broken for over a week and was down for most of our trip - kids were not impressed. Owner skulked around and was most unfriendly barely acknowledged guest and offered no apology nor any compensation. So called included free breakfast was cereal or toast. Cups, glasses and cutlery was constantly running out. Planned events were basically just written up on a board and left for you to do yourself.
STAFF THEMSELVES, HOWEVER WERE WONDEFUL LOVERLY AND FRIENDLY. LOVED THE STAFF. AND STRANGELY ENOUGH STILL ENJOYED OUR STAY HEAPS.

Overall a good experience. Rooms were a bit dusty but bathrooms were clean. The property is very beautiful and the beach is amazing. They had plenty of activities for you to do including, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding. There is two villages you can walk to on either side of the resort and everyone is very friendly. Lots of mosquitoes, so bring bug repellent. I mainly got bites in my room and not near the beach area. Food was priced okay and very good.
If you meet a man named Ben, you can buy fresh coconuts off him. He has the best coconuts.
Overall a good experience here and I would come back. Thank you.

We booked for 4 nights at one of the standard beachfront bures, wanting to get a quiet and relaxing holiday. Firstly, we were put in the wrong room and brought this up with reception. The staff were very friendly and cooperative about this and explained that we were not at fault at all. Ed was also very helpful and generous, as he put us in another resort for one night and then upgraded us to the superior beachfront bure. The bures had a very nice and cosy feeling to it, with a lovely outdoor shower. The staff was also on hand to help carry our luggages from the reception to our rooms.

Throughout our stay, we noticed that the staff were very friendly, getting to know everyone and making you feel like you are really on a holiday. They were always around to answer any questions we had. The various equipment for water based activities were also in good condition and made this resort very worth it by being so close to the clear water.

Even though there is only one restaurant/bar, it made it very convenient to get what you want without walking around and wasting time. We were able to sit at the open restaurant and watch the beautiful sunset, whilst eating our meals there. There was also an extensive cocktail list, which is worth trying out everything on that list, made by the friendly bar staff.

Even though it was a short stay, we are already planning to make another trip and hope to see everyone that we met at the resort.

Mango Bay has the makings of a nice resort but I encountered a few issues during my one night stay:

1) When I checked in, they could not find my name. They pulled up the Expedia booking but seemed even more confused. Told me to wait by the pool. I go there to wait for abt an hour. No one comes back to me to tell me the room is ready. Instead another staff member has me confused for someone else and goes check on my behalf. If she didn't, I don't know how long I'd have waited there.

2) Food portions at dinner was small and unsatisfying. Myself and the other guests staying at the dorm joked that we might have to munch on biscuits. Also, the toilet by the pool side looks very worn out. The cubicle doors have to be wrestled to close or open.

3) At night, a bunch of UK students partied and made so much noise. Had to plug in some music to sleep.

4) Checking out the next morning, the bill shows that I'm charged AGAIN for accomodation (even though I have already paid through Expedia) and pool towels. I tell them I did not use any pool towels and that I've already paid. They tell me that the person who checked me in yesterday wrote me as a walk-in guest hence the charge. I was confused since I literally SAW them pull up the booking email yesterday. Anyway, the staff eventually removed the extra charges.

All in all, I was glad I was only staying for a night.

The staff at Mango Bay were excellent. Each one asked our name on arrival and called us by name for our entire stay. Always smiling and nothing was ever a bother. Local knowledge about the best spots to snorkel, how to climb a coconut tree and how to open them, debates (happy ones) about rugby and other sports, gave us a truly personal and unique experience. Tina, John, Marley, Wase, all 3 Ile's - sorry if I spelt your names wrong, and everyone we haven't named, thank you for giving us a beautiful memory.
The resort itself was beautiful with lovely gardens and lawns. Many of the vegetables served in the meals were grown in the garden. The food was excellent especially the seafood, chicken sandwiches, and any of the traditional dishes. Wase is a cocktail master, mixing up beautiful creations as easily as if it was lemonade. The swimming pool was well kept.
We stayed in a Garden View Burr. We felt our burr was a bit tired. The bathroom floor sloped the wrong way and water would flood the floor when we showered. The grout around the tiles on the floor and walls needed fixed as the tiles would get water underneath them.
The bed was comfortable, but on lifting the bottom sheet was quite stained. A steam clean and/or mattress cover would be a big improvement.
There were 6 of us staying in 2 burrs adjacent to each other, but there were only 3 chairs and 4 cups between the 2 burrs. This made playing cards during wet weather or having a cup of tea with just us difficult.

My partner and I stayed at 3 resorts across the week that we were in Fiji. The first being Mango Bay, unknown to expectations after making a last minute booking, this one exceeded the following 2 we stayed at. One being one of the most notable on the island, another being in a similar price range towards Pacific Harbour.

The biggest differences I can take from Mango Bay were the Staff (Marley is the man), the satisfactory food menu and the peacefulness. A relaxing afternoon and mornings with nothing but the sound of the water and birds were something I didn’t know I needed so much until I had it.

Be expected to maybe check in to stay while a Think Pacific group is there, but if you’re lucky enough to get a couple of extra days after the 1 or 2 they’re there, you’ll be pleasantly rewarded by what this resort has to offer.

The satisfaction we received from Mango Bay made it memorable and also unanimous above our stays at The Warwick and Crusoes Retreat. If you’re looking for a quiet get away with a significant other, look towards Mango Bay.

Something I should also note is Mango Bay offer tours and activities that are priced much more reasonable and offer much more for value compared to their competitors. Especially great for budget travellers.

The resort is gorgeous. Gardens are well maintained, plenty of great outdoor furniture, and hammocks. All the staff are wonderful. Kayaks are great. Volleyball and night entertainment is fun. Table tennis table is the worst I've seen and needs to be thrown out... does not even have legs. Pool table is pretty bad as well, but playable. The main issue I have with Mango Bay is the $50 room credit that was supposed to be credited to our bill, and was not. I noticed that the credit was missing after I payed the bill and told them about it. but they chose to ignore me. They also failed to include crab race winnings (luckily I noticed that before I payed the bill). There is only one place to eat and it is at the resort restaurant. Prices are about the same as in the restaurants in Sydney. Closest shops and local food is at least 15 km away by either bus or taxi. Local food is at least half the price (sometimes a third). The bed in our beach front room was a queen and not a king. The room was nice, and outdoor shower is great. If it wasn't for the $50 overcharge I would have given the resort 4 stars.

We stayed with 5 nights with our 10 and 12 yr old. We had a great time and the staff would know you by name. No kids club but our kids enjoyed everything from swinging chairs, crab race to volleyball. We liked it better than plantation island. Moses our night security man very vigilant. Good value for money! 5 days about right for this place. A car is good but they offer lots of trips on and off water anyway. Good food and free wifi a bonus. Beds comfy.
Yes agree the facilities could do with an upgrade like new table tennis and pool table and better blankets and pillows on bed. And good scrub of doors and lick of paint here and there.
All in all a great place with amazing views and great pool and Fiji music. Staff are amazing and seem happier and friendlier than plantation island.

An authentic, rustic and characteristic place offering just what we were after - a typically Fijian piece of paradise. We stayed in a Beachfront Bure, the beach on our doorstep. Free WIFI. Great food. A variety of activities everyday with an outstanding group of local Fijian staff who went above & beyond to make our experiences memorable. The only downfall being there was a robbery in one of the Garden Bure's on our last night & also, while we appreciated a free drink from the owner's son after being stuck out at sea in the late afternoon/evening on a snorkelling trip due to the boat battery being faulty, we didn't appreciate his unsavoury behaviour that was witnessed, along with his friends, that evening.

I booked a 6 bed dorm and ended up having the entire room for me for the first 4 nights, after that I had to share it. They offer a great variety of acitivities, however, it was off season and some of the acitivites were cancelled due to not enough sign-ups. The restaurant is very expensive and not for backpackers. The staff are local Fijian villagers. These people were awesome in every way! We made sincere friendships with several of the staff while there. They also took awesome care of a bad cut I got on my hand when I slipped and feel while wading rocks fishing (the hospital was out of the dark ages and a scary place). The I hope to go back just to continue building friendships with the true Fijian locals. The locals also take pride in Mango Resort as if it is a representation of themselves since it is adjacent their village. If not for the staff, the resort would be a failure. The owner does not take care of the property (he did put a new roof on one house while we were there, the first time in 20 years so maybe he will start to do proper upkeep??). The owner underpays his staff also but the staff love 'their resort' and take pride in it despite the bad ownership. The showers do not drain and have not for a long time. The on-demand gas hot water heaters shut off every minute or so without warning so I had to constantly be fooling it into restarting by turning off the cold water and then to prevent getting scalded, would have to carefully turn back on cold water once I heard the gas flame ignite again... The owner needs to put shelving into the bures (houses) so one can get their clothes out of suitcases that have to otherwise lay on the floor... Coral Coast is a poor region, not a place for people expecting a rich peoples resort vacation. Go to outer island for that!

Beautiful location

We stayed here 12 years ago, when we had a wonderful stay. The location was and still is stunning. This trip we brought our children and they loved the pool and the beach. The food was okay, some of the portions were quite small, although the chef was very helpful in preparing vegan dishes for us. We stayed in a garden lodge, but didn't realise it was attached to another lodge, which meant we could hear everything in the next room, as well as the very noisy kids in the lodge across from us. It seems as if management haven't kept up with the maintenance, ie there were many holes in the bure roof, a bird even popped in one morning! The site would definitely benefit from more attention to detail especially to cleanliness in the guest rooms. The staff are all so lovely and friendly, even remembering our names. The bar closes at 11pm, it would be nice if it could open a bit later. There's no air con onsite, which is preventing us from rebooking, which is such a shame as we love it here.

Bulla. Mango Bay really is as beautiful as the photographs suggest. The accommodation suits the location and the staff are wonderful.
If you are booking through Expedia, make sure you are booking what you think you are - many of us had issues with room allocation. I thought I had booked a single room and ended up in a 7 bed dormitory for a while (by myself, so that was ok - had to negotiate a move when they wanted me to share with 3 others!)
Management could be a bit more professional and the snorkelling gear needs to be looked after (or take your own).
Also, check the weather - wet season is WET so if you want endless sunshine, do your research before you go.
It is a long way \"from the shops\" and 950 m from the bus. But buses are frequent and part of the adventure. And you can walk along the beach to Namatakula Village at low tide - a wonderful thing to do.
So allow yourself to slip into Fiji time and Mango Bay is a fabulous place for a relaxing holiday.

I loved how secluded and quiet the resort is and it has a lovely family feel. It was nice to go to a resort that isn't overrun by tourists. What let the resort down was the cleanliness of the bure, particularly the bathrrom and that there was not any furniture to sit on in the bure. There was space to have a table and chairs but there was nothing. It would have been nice to sit at a table to play board games at night. The staff were a little unfriendly when we arrived but then they began to warm up the next day.

As soon as you arrive at Mango Bay you are welcomed like you have come home. The staff are friendly, and take the time to get to know you. As there is only a small numbers of guests, the staff provide a tailored experience that makes you want to stay longer. Shout out to Marley, make sure you give him a big G’day mate if you ever get the chance. The resort dog ‘Mango’ adds to the whole place. Marley, Tina, Wase, Joe, Junior, and all other staff make you want to come back again. The restaurant has a great menu, with all day bar-snacks available. Great food. Originally booked a Garden Burre (room) which was too small and lacked any privacy. (We could hear the man in the room next to us breathing.) However after we upgraded to a Beachfront Burre our experience improved immediately, although it was a bit more expensive. For example, in addition to the original accommodation cost, the meals and upgrade cost an extra $FJ1,000. Shuttle buses to and from the resort, airport and activities were also very costly. Recommend hiring a car from the airport and just driving yourself everywhere. It would have been much cheaper in our case. Despite this, we had the best time at this resort. It is authentic Fiji where everyone remembers your name all week, and the beachfront accommodation was delightful.

Charming, friendly staff, good value, great time!

We tried Mango Bay for 2 nights in Jun18 and our family of four (2 kids 10 and 12) loved it ! The location was beautiful with soft 'carpet' grassed lawns rolling onto a lovely beach which was was protected from the winds due to the bay location. The staff were very friendly and all you had to do was ask if there was anything you needed. There is a nice well maintained pool overlooking the beach. Food was nice with a reasonable variety, breakfast included was very simple being toast, cereal, coffee tea and a couple types of fresh cut local fruit, but you could pay for eggs etc. We had 2 beachfront bures which had outdoor bathrooms. Bures are very simple but utterly charming, a little run down e.g. mosquito nets had tears in them, no air con, very hard beds, etc, however the price reflects this and is good value. Mango Bay had plenty of room and we enjoyed the space and absence of packed rooms full of screaming toddlers and babies, which we experienced at Denaru. The bill on checkout itemized every dish and drink ordered which made reviewing it a breeze, well done Mango, the larger resorts could learn a thing or two from you! Staying here was more like what we thought the 'real Fiji' would be like (we stayed at a Denaru resort after this, which we also enjoyed, but it was a little like staying in Legoland). We would stay here again in a heartbeat if they upgraded the rooms with air con in the future. We had a fantastic time, thank you Mango Bay !!

Very peaceful and tranquil location. Food is delicious a little pricey but you don't really have a choice as there are no other options close. Snorkeling is amazing at high tide if you go to the right of the resort down the coast less then 1 km. There is a deeper channel with a great ledge to foollow along out to the reef.

Staff are amazing. Greet you by name whenever they see you. We would stay here again.

If you have hot water issues check the battery in the heater for the pilot light. Seems to be a common problem.

I would not book a garden bura supreme again as they put two rooms in the same bura with no sound privacy at all. You can easily hear any conversation in the next room.

Mosquito infested dump

I arrived at the Mango Bay resort??? On Christmas eve . I was taken to a shed in the dark dingy part of the grounds that was actually my room . It had a bed (two singles pushed together) and a shelf unit, that was it!! No table No chair No bedside cabinet, No fan , No ceiling !!?? And definitely No fridge. In hindsight I should have refused to even go in the room, it was disgusting. That night I tried to read my book but the insects coming through the roof were ridiculous, one thing they did put in the room was a large can of fly spray, i sprayed the bugs and then they would come cascading down on to me and the bed, i would then have to brush them off of me and the bed . After repeating this 3 or 4 times I gave up, and decided to try and get some sleep . When I lay down my feet hung over the end of the very uncomfortable bed . I managed to get 2 maybe 3 hours of sleep that night. I decided to get up and have a shower before breakfast, I flicked the light switch No power, I thought oh well I will shower in the dark, But No water , this was a great start to Christmas day . My breakfast Christmas morning was a bowl of cereal with warm milk , couldn't get a tea or coffee because you need hot water for these luxuries.
I contacted a few of the other hotels along the Coral coast but they were all booked. I booked a flight home on the 26th I was supposed to be there till the 5th January. I have never been so happy to leave somewhere. Oh and the rain came through the roof.

Do not go here

After having my booking for 6 weeks they emailed to say they were doing major work at the resort and had transferred me to another resort. THE RESORT GAVE ME 2 DAYS NOTICE. Bit late to change airlines, car bookings etc.

Very annoyed at this. It never mattered that I did not like the other resort, I had no choice but to go. Very poor customer relationship, they need a lesson in how to treat their lively hood.

Lovely resort in a stunning place.

We were able to really relax at this resort -it was quiet and peaceful. We didn't leave the resort for the whole week we were there as there was everything we needed and wanted. We rested, reflected, enjoyed the water, the warmth and gazing out at the stunning lagoon and nature around us. We also enjoyed the food and drink. We loved getting to know the staff and learn about their Fijian culture and family life.
The beachfront bure was fantastic with a stunning view and proximity to the lagoon.

Wonderful staff needing the support of the owner/s

We particularly enjoyed our time here because of the staff who were very friendly, made every effort to cater to their guests and were welcoming.

We felt they were let down by the owners who had neglected maintenance and guest comfort and needed to pay more attention to detail. E.g. it is not possible to read in the rooms after dark as there is insufficient lighting and none at all by the bed. They offered a mini bar in the rooms we had to ask for glasses and there was no bottle opener provided. We booked for 12 nights and at no time during that time did the person that was pointed out to us as the owner come and introduce themselves, welcome us or address concerns that we had expressed to the staff. We chose a small resort expecting a more personal approach than in the large ones. This didn't happen.

The setting is lovely and quiet with a reasonable range of facilities. Our activities were mainly off site so we didn't use most of the facilities. However they looked in good condition.

Nice property and staff. Room a bit run down

I had a short but nice stay at Mango Bay. It's about 2 hours and a half from Nadi and 45 mins from Sigatoka. All the staff and other guests were lovely and they definitely made me feel welcome. The property was very nice and well-maintained--lots of coconut trees and beautiful plants. Clear water. I booked a double room with garden view for three nights but the room condition was not great. The room was dark and the bathroom dirty. I decided to shorten my stay by one night and asked to be upgraded to one of the beachfront bungalows (bure), which was much nicer in comparison. The staff was nice enough to fulfill my request. So the quality of my stay improved after that. If you are an independent traveler looking for a mid-range relaxing place to stay for a few days, Mango Bay would be a good choice.

Nice Resort in a fantastic location

The resort itself was actually very nice, the room however was disappointing. We had booked a Garden Bure, which I have since found out is a budget option.
The good about the Bure: Beds were extremely comfortable, the fan was very effective as were the mosquito nets, there was plenty of room as well.
The bad: the bathroom, in particular the shower was a gross, it was very moldy. There was a storage area, but this had cobwebs and only three hangers but no shelving, so you really couldn't unpack. The mozzie screen didn't cover the whole area that was open, so thankfully we had the nets over the beds.
The actual resort though was amazing, the meals were great, the pool was clean, the staff were genuinely lovely, the location amazing. Snorkeling off the beach was great, and the guided snorkel trips where you are taken out in a boat were fantastic. Kayaking was included in the price and was a lot of fun. Evening entertainment included table tennis tournaments, pool games etc which were fun.
I would definitely go again!

A unique resort

Enjoyed the beachside Bure, with flow through ventilation and open air, hot water showers. The staff made you feel more like a part of the family rather than a guest.

Beach is protected and suitable for young families, with fishing, snorkelling and other water sport.

Food was western cuisine and above average

Not what I expected!

Dirty bathrooms needed attacking with bleach and a scrubbing brush. Very basic hot and stuffy rooms. The gardens were nicely presented as was the small beach area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall though, not what I expected! Not what it appears in photos. Pricing too expensive for what is offered compared to other nearby options. Very far away from local stores as off the beaten track down a bumpy gravel driveway.

Brilliant! Value for money, authentic experience!

Beautiful blue lagoon, natural not man made, tide brings in the colours, coral reef is on couple of meters depth perfect for snorkelling.

Authentic Bures have a wonderfully private outside shower... with stairy night above you. Its not a five star hotel, but much better experience than many great hotels on rediculus Denarau. Beautifully maintained gardens are trully unique... access to the reserve is through the forest on gravel road, well away from main road so it really feels remote.

Staff is amazing, genuine and friendly, not just becouse they work there... but really care about how you feel.

Food is unfortunately not the best, but very afordable and so are coktails and wine.. $28 for a bottle of great Au/NZ wine.. you cant buy this in any local shop.

We will certainly come back and share our experience with friends! Photos are real.

Great place for peace and quiet.

We picked this place on price and location on the Coral Coast. It was perfect for a quiet getaway, especially in the low season.
The pool, table tennis table and friendly staff added to the very pleasant atmosphere. A free sunset cruise was an unexpected bonus.
We were expecting the wifi to work, as we use it to plan onward travels, but this was a disappointment. We were advised that technicians had worked on it and had it working. It was also a low service area for the mobile phone.

Terrible owners. Bed bugs. Seclude.

The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. It is 35 mins on the bus to the nearest town. Once you arrive at the bus stop which takes you to mango Bay, it is then a 15 minute walk/Trek down a stoney road before you get to the resort. A free shuttle should be on hand, it's ridiculous to expect customers to walk all this way with heavy suitcases or backpacks.
The hotel was quite and right on the beach (however the beach isn't great so don't get excited).
Myself and my partner felt that the owners of the hotel had a heavy presence; Always drinking in the bar and groping the female staff. It's actually very uncomfortable to watch.
The food is extremely overpriced and there is little to no entertainment.
The Bures are ok however ours was full of bugs and mosquitoes and we did experience bed bugs which equalled zero sleep!
The only positive was the lovely guy on reception with the pretty eyebrows.
I wouldn't recommend staying hear and frankly I feel sorry for the staff for having to put up with such poor management.

Small and intimate resort but no comfort

I liked the overall atmosphere of the resort, very small and intimate. Beautiful coral beach at the front and postcard like palm trees everywhere. Lush vegetation in the surroundings and the burés are scattered through the gardens. The sunsets over the ocean were pretty amazing.
On the negative side, not many comforts or services. The room was very simple, eco-friendly, almost no light to see anything, much less read. Beware of the mosquitos at night, they will eat you alive, though it was a nice touch the net at the top of the bed. Very simple room, with a fridge and cupboard. The bathroom outside was beautiful, but it was a bit daunting going to the toilet in the morning sun at 35 degrees. There weren't many things to do at the hotel. Very few services. There was a boat you could hire to go to the islands, but we were informed it had been booked by a family for 4 days and we couldnt use it. That was very disappointing. Apart from that, don't expect any inclusions. The breakfast which was allegedlt included in the price was ridiculous... just frosties, fruit and toast. Anything else you had to pay aside. You actually had to pay for anything you wanted to use, except the snorkelling gear which was free (though the snorkelling in front of the hotel was very limited). The food was the worst thing about the resort, pretty average and very expensive.
Staff were friendly and made you feel at home. For that reason only I would rate it with 2-3 stars.

Piece of Island paradise

Feels like your on an Island. Such a great location on the private beach. You slow down as soon as you arrive. Mango Bay resort has a real authentic Fijian feel. My partner and I stayed in the Ocean front bure ,number 5 which was right in front of the beach. Was amazing ..just what we imagined. We had our own inside toilet and our own outdoor shower. There is a mossy net for over you're bed ..they come out in the evening especially after rain. There isn't air -con but there is a ceiling fan. The bure had a real high authentic hut roof. Bures are clean.
There is daily actives such as cava ceremony, cooking class, beach volley ball, crab racing etc
It isn't big like other resorts so you get to know the other guests.
All staff are friendly and call you by your name so has a personal feel.
This resort is pretty much couples ...which I liked as was quiet and romantic without lots of kids.
We hired a car which was handy to site see and get around.

Beachfront bures amazing!!

We stayed one night in a beachfront Bure and it was everything I dreamt Fiji to be with the added bonus of an outside shower!! The next four nights due to money restraints we stayed in a garden Bure! I must say I was abit disappointed at the quality of the bed and bedding and the wear of bathroom fixtures!! perhaps I just yearned to be back in the beachfront one!! Facilities were good, staff friendly including Ed the boss, who is super helpful, thanks for making us feel welcome!! My only other disappointment was rubbish on the beach but that is not isolated to Mango Bay, it's everywhere in Fiji and for me to return to Fiji I would love to see it cleaned up!! Vinaka! We had a very relaxing stay!! It was also a good time to stay, very quiet which is what we like and needed for a well earned rest!!

What a place to stay. Great escape from the world of work etc. Amazing views and sunsets to die for. The staff were super friendly and special thanks to Ed and Bill. OK but needs special thoughtful touches

We stayed for 3 nights & while room was tidy it was missing just extra oomph to make stay comfortable. lighting was def an issue. and with outdoor shower, no soap holder...an extra chair on deck with a wonky coffee table to put the bar fridge on...it wasnt ideal. would stay again but only because location & the staff particulary kini & wise were really friendly - give them a pay rise :) :) oh & need more deck chairs.
