The location is beautiful and the staff are lovely people, however, the amenities were not as advertised. Most things (gym, laundry, glass boat, water slide, restaurants, ice cream parlour) were not working, or they were unavailable. I wish I had known beforehand so I could have planned better.

It is kid-friendly, and the pool was great, but there was not much else in terms of activities for the kids.

There is an obvious ownership or management issue and I wish the staff had better conditions to do their best because they are beautiful and talented people. Staff does a great job with what they have to work with and were the highlight of the stay.

We heard from others who had stayed here before that things weren’t the same and I hope this resort can live up to its potential again because it is a beautiful place.

The staff was incredible! They were beyond 5 stars.
Everything else, 3 stars or less. I want to love this place so much. I could be soooo amazing. I think it once was. We heard it is new management and things have gone downhill. I don’t want to bash on them- but after three days we left and went elsewhere. Mostly so we could have running water, toilets to flush, and when water was on- hot water for showers. You tend to want a supply of water when paying to stay somewhere on vacation.

We recently stayed at Hideaway Resort and were extremely disappointed. This is not the same place we visited 10 years ago—it’s now run down, neglected, and clearly gone backwards.

Our first night in Bure 100 was unbearable. Located right next to the highway, the constant noise from trucks and buses made sleep impossible. On top of that, the room was poorly cleaned, with dust on the bed and pillows—completely unacceptable.

We arrived late from Nadi, yet the staff weren’t even aware of our check-in. The warm Fijian welcome we once experienced—garlands and drinks—was completely missing. It felt disorganised and indifferent.

After complaining, we were moved to Bure 97. While quieter, it was at the far end of the resort. With an infant, the long walks were frustrating, but we didn’t bother pushing further.

The decline in food and service was the biggest letdown. Options are now limited and disappointing. One morning, we were just 10 minutes late for breakfast due to our infant and asked for something small. The chef flatly refused—no flexibility, no care. That attitude says everything about how far standards have dropped.

To make matters worse, there has been no improvement to the bures—rundown bathrooms, no daily room service, and no telephone. Staff seem trained only to say “Bula” and play the Lalli for arrivals and departures, rather than provide genuine service.

Overall, a very poor experience. We won’t be returning—there are far better options like Shangri-La and Warwic

Not a stranger to Hideaway, I’ve been going for years.
It’s not flash, and only had one restaurant available during our stay, but it’s a special place.
It’s the staff that make it, they are pretty much all amazing, and the reason I keep coming back.
They say at Hideaway that you arrive as guests and leave as family and it’s true.
I’ll be back next year 😊

The staff at the Hideaway go above and beyond to meet all your needs and ensure that you have a relaxing abd enjoyable holiday. The location of the resort (right on a private beach) is spectacular! Yes...not the most modern resort on the Coral coast but makes up for it in so many other areas!! I look forward to returning to this quaint resort in the future for lots of r & r and interacting with the beautiful and endlessly happy happy staff!

Nice resort and nice people. We stayed in a beachfront villa which was huge and nice. This is a very large resort and there are hundreds of things to try to maintain, so are there a few small barely noticeable things here and there; sure. But doesn't take away from the place. The biggest thing is there are no TVs and no internet in the rooms. It's the 21st century, and if any hotel wants to exist 10 or 20 years from now, they absolutely HAVE to have one or the other in the rooms. After the sun goes down and people are in their room, not everyone wants to just read a book before bed!

Avoid at all costs. Disgusting, Unhealthy, and Completely Misrepresented
I don’t write bad reviews. I’ve been in hospitality for 22 years and always try to resolve issues directly. This place gave us no choice.
We booked 14 nights and couldn’t even survive 3.
From the first night the room was infested with ants — including in the beds. Reported immediately. Told it was “sorted.” It wasn’t. Ants every night.
The pool was filthy and cloudy, clearly not maintained. On top of that, the pool towel situation was a joke. At 9am we were told towels aren’t available before 10am. When we came back, we were told there were no towels left and to return at 11am. At 11, we were told they would bring towels to us at 11:30. We waited. They never came. A pool you can’t use properly because you’re chasing towels is unacceptable.
There were only two working umbrellas for the entire pool area. The rest were broken and unusable. Guests who’d been there longer claimed them early every morning. No shade, no rain cover — just sit in the sun or get wet.
There was no hot water in the room. Excuse: “solar ran out.” Nothing fixed.
The bathrooms stink of sewage, and there is an open sewage stream under a bridge you must cross to get between rooms and restaurant. You literally have to hold your breath walking over it. This is not just unpleasant — it’s unhealthy.
We booked specifically for snorkeling. It’s restricted to short time windows, and the snorkeling gear provided was broken. No flexibility, no so

Room was less than ideal with very little air/con; taps leaking with green water and holes in the fly screens allowing all insects onto the room! With only one restaurant operational - the other closed down for the entire week we were here, offering guests very little to choose from and food was hit and miss...everything was overpriced and you certainly didnt get what you paid for! There was nothing happy about happy hour either. Cocktail prices were expensive and as a consequence, barely requested. Place needs serious TLC. Location was great thiugh as were the sunsets! Staff need better care. It's obvious that most have stopped caring but who can blame them. I'd stay here again only if they seriusly invested in their accommodation, staff and restaurants and quality of food. Bula vinaka!

Normally we don't do reviews but we felt for the Fiji Hideaway, it was necessary.
First, the staff were amazing, we loved them all! And our beachfront bure was lovely, but definitely needed some maintenance on all the faucets in the bathroom but overall fine.

However, the pool was appalling, dark and murky, and their filter system was obviously not working. They were adding chlorine type products every night but it didn't make a difference which was worrisome as there were numerous young children using the pool daily. The shower didn't work by the pool and neither did most of the sun umbrellas.
In the public areas, the canvas overhanging the Indian restaurant area was filthy and in the main bathrooms by reception, the light fixtures were full of dead bugs. All of these issues could be fixed with a good cleaning.
Breakfast was included and quite good but there was no variation, we were there for a week and there was always only scrambled eggs and strawberry yoghurt ever single day.
Having said this, the grounds were lovely and well maintained. And they have cats! If it weren't for the great staff and the cats, they would have gotten a 2.5 rating.

The property was right on the coral coast, we were able to walk straight from our room and go snorkeling. Snorkeling was just as good as my dive.
The rooms facilities were clean and had everything we needed including no TV and Wifi allowing us to switch off.
It was advertised that their was paddle boarding and yoga however this was in correct.
The food options were limited with only 2 options to eat and the 2nd restaurant was only open at limited times. Food in the main restaurant was simple and limited.
We did book a tour with the property however there was a mix up and the transfer never arrived would suggest booking yours directly.

Surf spot was fun! Free intro scuba lesson in pool was awesome for my kids. Activities fun. Front reception Staff/woman could be friendly and not so grouchy. Bar staff woman was sad looking. Some staff for first arrival are cranky like, people are on holiday, was disappointing. Men singing and playing songs were great. The cultural show was great, lovely bonus.

Female staff were great , Charles is great guy also, Dan told us to come back at 11 for fishing and he had booked the captain and than we went back at 11 and he said the captains day off , so un professional, the view of the beach and reef is amazing from the villas , the chef made pouched eggs and they were so bad i didnt eat them , the entrees were ridiculously tiny ,, food is average overall, some good meals , the drivers on the road are rude and drive up your bum,, very disrespectful, overall probably 6.5 out of ten,, would have scored higher if the food was better and bigger portions and the pool doesnt look inviting for swimming, although i enjoyed the reef next time i will be staying at the warick on the coral coast

Nice waterfront resort, rooms appears ok and resort style. They had issue with main water line after a heavy rain which left us without water for more than 15 hours!. Staff were helpful and welcoming even during water supply issues however, restaurant staff forgets to put order into the System and you wait hour without food until you enquire! This happened twice both in main and Japanese restaurant during dinner times. Suggest to give restaurant staff electronic devices for taking order. Overall good stay.

I feel sorry that I have to give a one-star review but I'm compelled to do that because I had to end my stay here prematurely and move to a different hotel due to water quality and supply problems that affected the pool and the water supply to the room.

The water to the room /bure was dirty brownish) and the water in the pool was dirty (murky green) from day one. I didn't want to make a fuss about it presuming it'll get sorted out quickly so I opted to use the pool of another resort which was a 15 minutes away, paying out of pocket for day passes and taxis.
I also started using bottled water (again, paying out of pocket) in the room and avoided using tap water for brushing and washing.

The resort started cleaning up the pool, after a few of us complained, applying cleaning agents on the night of 3rd Jan and they ran filters on the 4th. They did further cleaning of the pool on the 5th however, it was still dirty.

The resort acknowledged the problem with the water to the room on 4th Jan however it was never resolved during my stay. The resort cut off the water supply to my room at noon on 5th - that meant we couldn't flush the toilets from that point onwards. The supply wasn't restored by the time of me checking out on the 6th.
After checking out, I went out for lunch leaving my bags at the resort and when I came to collect it at around 3pm, and even at that time, the taps were still running dirty water.

This resort needs a lot of improvement.
1. I booked a ocean view bure. The moment I stepped into a room, I regretted booking a two-week stay. The wooden, folding windows had no glass but a screen right in front of them. To keep the room cool, I had to close the wooden windows, which left the room pitch black unless I turned on the lights. I'd booked this place hoping to have an ocean view from the room, but I was deeply disappointed. Of course, slightly more expensive rooms have glass windows. Consider this when booking.
I don't understand why some rooms at this resort don't have glass windows.
2. This resort also does the laundry for $10 a load, but they hang it out to dry in front of my room. The clotheslines are flimsy, snap easily, and look unsightly. For $30, you could buy a laundry drying rack, and having one in each room would be incredibly useful in Fiji's humid climate.
3. The last two days, the water was out for a installation of new filtration system which was very inconvenient for us.
4. Each room should have a sign indicating when guests do not want their room cleaned. 5. Towels should not be replaced while they are hanging. Only towels on the floor should be replaced.

It is with heavy heart i leave 'Home'... aka Hideaway Resort and Spa in Coral Coast.
From the moment,we arrived we were welcomed by the Porters... 'welcome Home'... and this phrase is used from Reception staff and Restaurant/Bar staff... Little they knew i lost my father 3 weeks ago and that by welcoming home, they touched my soul. We have stayed a numerous hotels in Fiji and some 5stars, however the hospitality we received here at Hideaway Resort and Spa was beyond the expectations.
Kini, Miri, Tash, Peni, Taniela, Naomi, Amani, Sitari , Vala George... just to name a few were incredible humans. They made us feel at home, they left no stone unturned to make our family holiday one to remember for a life time.Accommodation was comfortable big rooms four us, 2 adults and 2 kids age 12 and 15. Daily room clean... thanks Miri you are a star. Clean beach and pool. Lots of activities organised by Activities Team, Thanks George you are one very talented person.Daily activities filled our days with excitement and we learnt how to cook chicken curry, tie a Sulu, tried roasted coconut, participated in games which had a price of free coffee, lucky me I love coffee. We had aqua dance, dinner shows and fire dance shows.
Boat Fishing trip was easy to book via the activities teams, thanks Kini and Dan, you are both super stars.Taniela who sang us beautiful songs near the beach. You sing like an angel, Thank you.Restaurant and Bar staff your smiles are contagious. We love your services. THANK

Breakfast menu is very, very limited and didn’t change during our five night stay there. We stayed in a two bedroom Bure. The room was very basic and more like 2 stars. Aircon was very good though. The resort is quite remote and additional taxi costs could be more significant than expected. We paid FJD 80 return to the Gecko resort to watch the fire dance, FJD$10 each way to the restaurants at Maui Bay. The dining menu at the resort was very limited. The nightly dance show was a surprise in that it was different every night we were there. Saturday night was the best with fire dance. Activities at the resort were great.

The resort was about 1.75 hours from Nadi airport, we rented a car. Resort was mostly clean, some areas, mainly miniature golf needed work.

Room was clean and daily service was good except when exchanging towels, didn't get everything back. Staff friendly and helpful. Snorkeling was good, reef appears to be dying in areas. Lots of colorful fish. Water was clear.

Restaurant was hit or miss. Pool looked cloudy all week, even though smelled liked chlorine in the morning. Showers were good. You charge everything to room, convenientt.

The normal beach Bure rooms need some cleaning / renovation. We upgraded after our first night to a Deluxe room which was better.
Staff overall is always friendly but room service / cleaning was a bit of hit and miss.
Pool staff was often not there so you had to find someone to get a pool towel. We did not try the hotel food, but no one seemed to go to dinner there as it was empty when we checked.
We booked a few trips and few important details about trips and times were inconsistent/wrong which questioned why we booked through them.
Overall I would stay somewhere else but its okey if you just use it as base and go outside for day trips.

TLDR - go somewhere else, basic does the job hotel, needs serious renovation

If you’re after a quiet resort with no queues, WiFi in room or tv in room or room service this place is for you. We had a frangipani room very run down. Water would randomly be turned off. What the rooms lack the staff more then mae up for. The pools was always empty and the restaurant was too so that was good. Happy hour and daily quiz is also great at night time.

Something to keep in mind, is that this property is older. If you’re looking for 5** results in an older property you’re going to be dissatisfied. This property is clean, with great room sizes, beautiful views, great staff, good entertainment.
The pool is clean and there’s plenty of equipment to borrow. Meals (lunch/dinner) can be on the pricier side, but there are good options a few mins drive away. If you have allergies, speak with the staff. Not many Gluten Free options. The beach is stunning! It’s peaceful! The village nearby is welcoming. Consider going for a walk and exploring the coral reef! A great property for the price! We would be back!

We stayed here as a family and found the accommodation comfortable and clean. There are some quirks with the buildings being a bit older. But this didn't worry us.
Hiring a car was helpful to access other shops and restaurants to suit our needs with kids but the resort has everything so not a must.

We stayed for 9 nights. Our room was spacious, plenty of room for adults with kids. The open air bathroom was a treat. Having our accommodation on the beach front was beautiful.

The pool area was spacious and clean.

The happy hour games were fun and inclusive of every generation. The activities daily were well scheduled.

The staff were amazing, every staff member said Bula with a smile and were more than happy to offer service.

Small improvements could be made: the bathroom needs a good clean - lots of mould. The open air bathroom was not cleaned once during our stay.

The activities available are very repetitive and being so remote it’s hard to go for a walk to shops or do an activity.

Day trips are a must to be able to see Fiji.

The menu is great and changes nightly, but it is quite expensive.

Overall a nice stay, but minor improvements needed

Lovely rooms dotted along the beach. Great snorkelling directly from the beach either side of high tide. It is a little bit tired and could use some refurbishment in places but still beautiful. There is a Padi Dive School on site who offer free pool lessons as well as beginner sea dives (Fabulous!)

Nice resort. The reef is safe for anyone to explore being fairly shallow. Free Scuba lesson in the pool. Kayaks can be used at high tide, providing its not too windy.
Only note is - Resort is mostly cash free with everything being charged back to your room and paid by card.

Beachfront property is lovely. We had to move rooms because they burn the yard waste and trash at least once a day and it makes a lot of smoke. The property across the street was also burning stuff each day. The menu is limited and it would be great to have more options. The staff were fantastic!

We had a fabulous week at the Hideaway. We wanted a week on the Coral Coast before a wedding in Nadi, and chose the Hideaway because of its extremely low nighlty price. I'm not going to lie, the stay didn't start off as great, seeing how rundown the room was, and two very bad meals (I suggest avoiding their toasted sandwiches and pizzas, just odd cheese), but everything from then on was positive.

We were in a bure right in front of the ocean, with beautiful well kept gardens. We loved sitting out the front and reading, and playing with our son, or poolside, again, looking out at the ocean.

Our meals got so much better, we loved their snack menu (very cheap, and great for lunches), and their Indian and Japanese food was divine.

Breakfast is a bit basic but does the job given the nightly rate, and all meals except for the Japanese are served in the same area.

The staff were so lovely, and helped my son when he got sick, and helped my mum who isn’t very mobile. She stayed in her own bure.

There's a little shop there too, which we bought lots of ice creams from, and even had a kid's panadol, when we accidentally smashed ours (thank goodness!).

The beds were really comfortable too!

We would definitely come back, given how affordable it was. For the location, if they ever renovate the resort, the price will go up at least 5 times, so it's definitely worth compromising on the quality, to be able to go away for longer.

The Staff were so friendly, beautiful location on the beach. Beds were comfortable, water was only hot. Our Bure needed some updates and fix ups. (I do believe there are doing some Reno's) but their hospitality made up for that !!

Dirty stained bed sheets. Bed bugs in our room on the first day we arrived. No water to have a shower 2 days out of 5 days. Breakfast is the same everyday. No telephones in the rooms to call reception. No wifi provided either. All in all pretty disappointed. Ordered for toasties and it was burnt black underneath.

Had a great stay, we snorkeled the lagoon a couple of times every day, it is fantastic, the coral, fish life and diversity far exceeded our expectations. Staff are excellent, and property is very good value for money. Will come back.

Very welcoming, staff are so very friendly, helpful, cheerful. Bus transport on roadside beside resort. Resort and rooms very clean, tidy and housekeeping staff absolutely 5 star. So enjoyed soaking up the sun at the beautiful pool. Daily activities including the 12 noon sundance which most of us joined in, lots of fun and laughter. Breakfast was wonderful with such a variety of food to choice from. Only downside was the choice of dinner meals I feel they needed to change the selection more frequently. Allmin all a wo derful holiday and will return.

Just a bit of a distance if you want to be closer to city. Suggest a shuttle for guests to go to Sigatoka for other attractions beaides guided tours. Beautiful, clean and worth the time spent at Fijii hideaway and Spa.

Staff were terrific. Operator needs to reinvest to bring this wonderful glory days many people speak of. Just run down. My kids 7&11 loved it. No bed head and gap between head of bed and wall between masonry engaged piers. Cheap nylon pillows would slip out from under my head into the gap. Really dumb layout and waste of space. Weather in September here is perfect it’s a glorious location
