What you need to know. Fiji is HOT. Restaurants are not air conditioned. Snorkeling off resort is marginal. Food is good but buffet needs help. We did not need the food plan. People stake out the best spots at the adult pool even though they are not supposed to. Staff is delightful but make sure they understand you. Over all we were pleasantly surprised. We loved the sea front bure.

This resort is for families with kids under the age of 10. It’s like a kids summer camp, not a 5 star beach resort. The adult pool has last call at 4:30 and closes at 5:00, but the tennis courts next to it are open until 9:00, and the kids are flopping around at their pool until sundown. Staff acts like overworked daycare workers. They are like robots compared to every other friendly warm staff we encountered at other hotels.

We had a lovely stay at OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort. The resort has a very authentic Fijian feel, however the rooms are a bit outdated and could use some updating. The main issue we experienced was in the bathroom — floating floors were used, and water went everywhere after every shower, meaning we had to clean up each time.

That said, the outdoor pool area more than made up for it. The pool, slide and inflatable activities were a huge hit with our kids — we spent most of our days there. There were also plenty of activities available for both adults and children, which made it a great family destination.

The resort itself is very large and beautiful, though some areas would benefit from a bit of sprucing up overall. The food was incredible. Especially the seafood-- it was absolutely AMAZING — some of the best seafood I’ve ever had.

Most importantly, the staff were absolutely beautiful. The service was impeccable — everyone was genuinely lovely, happy, and welcoming, which truly made our stay special.

Overall, we highly recommend this resort, particularly for families. With some updates to the rooms, it would be exceptional.

Room was neat and clean. We encountered an issue and the moved us quickly to another room.
Coffee at the coffee shop near reception was great.
Buffet Lovo dinner was nice. A lot of improvement since our last trip.
Beach is beautiful.
Snorkeling and swimming is best at high tide. We snorkelled and saw some beautiful fish, sea cucumbers, starfish etc.
Overall a nice stay at a great location for us.

Loved our stay at the Outrigger. The staff were wonderful and wellcoming, the food was amazing and the pool was lovely. The kids loved the waterslide and inflatable.
Kula Wildlife Adventure Park was only a short walk away and there was plenty of restaurants to choose from. The buffet breakfast had a huge selection of food to cater for everyone. Will definitely be coming back.

The staffs were amazing and approachable. My concern was upon arriving, one of our room has that smell and also even after purchasing their half meal plan, some charges keep appearing in our account. But easily resolved once contacted the front desk. Overall, it is a nice facility to spend time for a holiday.

Downsides : food portions are very small and quality is average for the price, cocktails have nearly no alcohol in it, resort is very far from the port so lots of activities require at least 2h travelling between resort and port (specially to go to islands).

The garbage in our room was never dumped. The staff screamed Bula at you at every opportunity. Then we're seen kicking animals. I will never ever stay there again. The Shangrila looks good and the Sheraton is close to all amenities. Going anywhere from the outrigger cost 250 dollars. Even the local market which was really dirty cost 50 dollars to get there.

A huge thank you to the Outrigger Resort and their warm friendly staff for looking after us and creating the perfect relaxing holiday. A special mention and 🙏 to our lovely talai butler 🌟 the gorgeous Queen B at the adults only pool, Michal (Boss man) at the central bar for the laughter and farewell song 🥲 and vivacious Vivi from the Sundowner, it was such a pleasure to meet you all. We loved every minute of our Fijian escape from the premium ocean view room to the beautiful gardens, choice of pools and restaurants (with top marks to the Ivy 🌟, the Beachcomber island day trip and last but not least, the incredible spa at the top of the hill with a to die for view!
We hope to return one day soon.

Great resort, friendly staff, really great food options - particularly compared to other Fiji resorts I've previously stayed at! The buffet, Ivi restaurant, Sundowner and adults only cafe all had delicious food, the only food let down was the main poolside bar. A great happy hour from 4-5pm however at poolside, delicious cocktails, mocktails & smoothies, plenty of activities on site and the Talai butler service for ocean view rooms & bures was awesome! So luxurious to have daily glass of champagne and enjoy the ocean. Internet access was fast, bath towels were soft, everything you'd expect from a 5 star resort.

Nice hotel but pools COLD & no hot tubs & windy!

It is a beautiful hotel but not the 5 star they claim to be. The lobby and main tower building needs updating and those rooms were so small. It's also a big hotel so it was too crowded for our liking. The worst part was all pools (family & adults only) were COLD!! You couldn't stay in but a few minutes and shocked there were no hot tubs anywhere. The tide was low during the day so we couldn't go snorkeling and couldn't even enjoy the pools!

All snorkeling activites were back in Nadi so that's 1.5h away which isn't convenient at all.

The restaurants were excellent except for the pool resto & bar. The staff were super friendly but everything comes with costs even water and most of the hotel activities all had to be paid for to enjoy.

The trade winds are SE direction so it's often quite windy. Overall we were disappointed.

We had an amazing time at Outrigger such a lovely setting and amazing staff, shout out for ”Mr Fiji” who did a great job every day with the aqua aerobics and pool volleyball. We travelled as a family with our grandchildren and they had a great time.
The food and drinks at all the outlets were great.
Rooms are a nice size, very clean and lovely views. Would definitely recommend Outrigger for a great family holiday.

This resort is an excellent place to relax and have a actual holiday. It is located beside the sea, beach and water is excellent for swimming, snorkeling etc. Accommodation was nice, clean and excellent condition. Most staff were friendly and great assistance. The pool bar staff though needs level up in better customer service. Nicely organised with separate adult pool. Quite a few choices of restaurants and food. I will definitely be coming again. Coral coast location is an excellent holiday area.

Bus we had paid for, that is my only complaint in two weeks, also since 3 people were booked into our room there was only ever enough cups, ets for two. There should have been enough of everything for 3. Excellent resort didn’t want to leave.

This was the beginning of our 3 week vacation before we got on a cruise ship. We really liked this part of the island away from the port. The people are so friendly, and we did a waterfall hike/ horseback, Kava ceremony that we booked through the hotel. It is a family friendly resort with water slides and a pool bouncy obstacle course. We are a retired couple so we enjoyed the adult pool. Our room overlooked an inlet and it felt like we were on a private beach. The food was good with healthy options. We ate breakfast and lunch at restaurant by the adult pool and we did the dinner and breakfast buffet once each. It's not the fanciest place, but it was nice to start our trip here.

After a great stay, it was disappointing that our lunch order at the Bivari Pool side restaurant was forgotten. We were the first to order and after 45 minutes (and everyone after us being served) we had to leave to catch a taxi to the Airport without eating. Somehow we were forgotten about. Not a good ending to our visit.

Stayed in April 2025 with our 2 year old. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating (my daughter still yells out BULA to us).
Food options were great, we loved the pool and not having to leave the accommodation.
The drive from Nadi airport is long, especially after a flight but once at the resort you don’t need to leave.

Great resort, on a beautiful coral reef so if you love snorkelling this is for you! Really good food especially at Ivi & Sundowner. The one issue is if you’re travelling as a couple it may not be the best place for you as it’s very family oriented, lots and lots of kids. Stunning property and wonderful staff! We stayed in an Ocean Front Bure and absolutely LOVED our front lawn. We rented a car, so no experience booking excursions through the property, but the rooms were clean, the staff was super friendly, and the spa was great! We had great experiences in most of the restaurants, but were highly disappointed in Ivi. The Sundowner's food was our favorite and the kids adored the breakfast buffet. My husband and I enjoyed the adult pool and swim-up bar, as well. We would absolutely return. Wonderful experience!

The grounds were beautiful and lush with landscaping. Very well kept. The family pool was great for kids. Chairs around the pool were very hard to sit on for any length of time. Pleased that they had a very nice adult pool with comfortable seating. (A bit of a walk from the main area but quiet and relaxing). A few more shade areas would be nice. Enjoyed the a la carte breakfast there.
Limited menus for snacks or light mid day fare.
Meal options were limited and we tended to go off site to eat dinner.
The coral coast was advertised to have the best beaches, which is why we elected to go there. We found the beach / water very rocky, gravelly and not really swimmable. Quite disappointing.
