This is a hotel where the staff are at another hotel within Rome but they communicate very effectively through the Hotels.com app. We downloade the WhatsApp and was easily able to communicate that way. Seemed weird at first for a hotel but ended up being great. It felt like you had your own flat in Rome vs a hotel room. Room service for cleaning everday. The hotel is in a great location and a very high end part of Rome.

We had a difficult experience at Mood 44. We arranged a shuttle through the hotel, but their payment system didn’t work, and we didn’t have €200 in cash as we were mid flight when we were notified about the technical issue. When we arrived, we were stuck outside in a busy, dangerous alley with no staff present. We rang the outside bell for 15 minutes before housekeeping happened to let us in. They had no idea who we were. After several phone calls and another 15 minutes we finally received our room keys in envelopes.
The elevator fits only two people, so getting our family and luggage to the 4th floor took multiple trips. The rooms were clean and nicely styled, but the bathrooms had no privacy. The glass doors and a large glass window looked directly into the bedroom, which was very uncomfortable—especially with kids. Beds were not very comfortable and pillows were flat.
The location is central, but the entrance opens into a blind alley with fast traffic—cars, scooters, and trucks flying by with little warning. It felt unsafe. Communication was also poor—we asked for the WiFi code on Tuesday, followed up on Wednesday, and finally got it on Thursday.
If you want a completely self-service hotel in a central area, this might work. But if you expect any staff support or a sense of safety and comfort, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

We were happy with our stay at this property. One block away from the crowds so it is quiet yet still very convenient to go out and visit the city. Any questions we had were answered right away and they give lots of information about things to see and do in Rome.

This is a satellite hotel of Hotel Campo de’ Fiori, so there is no reception staff on site, but they are available through email and WhatsApp, and they are very responsive to any request. Our bath water was lukewarm on arrival; they fixed it the next morning. Our unit had a lovely soaking bathtub that was perfect after 20k steps, but other units have only a shower. The beds are extra firm; I have a sleep number bed set at 65 and this was firmer than that. I was counting on doing laundry, but there is no self-service laundry on site. There is a service a few doors down, open 8-5, which did not work with our touring plan. Otherwise, everything was clean and in good working order, and we had a very pleasant stay. There are plenty of food options in the immediate area, and the Colosseum and the Vatican are each about a mile away, in opposite directions. The Trevi fountain is about an 8-minute stroll. I would email the hotel after booking so they have direct communication with you. Hotels.com did not coordinate that well. I liked this hotel.

It us a great location, convenient to all main attractions. Walking distance with great dining options nearby. Very clean and modern interior. The staff is great and very helpful. Take advantage of the airport transfer they offer. However, the only disappointment is that there is NO expresso machine in the room, in fact, no coffee maker in the room at all and you have to go to the nearby cafe in the next block. Also, be aware that there are no staff in this building at all. This is not clear when you make the booking.

The check-in was simple and well explained, and although I didn’t see any staff on property, they responded very promptly to all of my messages and questions. I have worked in the service industry, and I seldom leave a harsh review, however, I was quite disappointed with our stay at Mood 44 as the room what not as advertised, and there was no service. We booked a room with a king and double bed, and instead we got two singles pushed together and a pull-out couch. The pull-out couch mattress was old, worn and you could feel the springs in your back. The hotel was in a good location, but if you are looking to spend 500 Euro/Night on a hotel in Rome, spend your money elsewhere.

We enjoyed our stay at Mood44. It did not quite live up to the billing on Expedia. The rooms are showing a little wear and tear. The bed was very firm, my wife thinks too firm. The pillows were not the best quality. Everything worked as it should with good water pressure and enough hot water. We could not get on Wi-Fi with the code they gave us the first day and since there is no one on site, it takes a while to communicate via email. We finally used WhatsApp the second day to improve the speed and we got help getting the proper Wi-Fi codes. The location is stellar. We loved how easy it was to get around Rome. Even with the minor issues, we’d stay here again.

Mood 44- A Secret Gem!
Mood 44 is in a great location. It is clean and it’s perfect for the seasoned traveler. Even though there is not a front desk, the concierge is readily accessible via text and Whats App to make all of your reservations. Staff very helpful and friendly. Only small complaint is that they need to buy new blow dryers for the rooms. A wonderful experience!

Mood 44 was an okay hotel for our need to have one night to sleep before heading south to Amalfi. The check-in process is entirely online so make sure you send your passport and vaccine info, that is how you get the code for entry. Otherwise there is no on-site staff to let you in and you may be locked out. Check-in process was fairly simple - use the code to enter the main door and you room key will be sitting on a side table.
The most disappointing thing about this hotel was the lack of amenities that were advertised. The website says breakfast is provided and there is a rooftop patio for drinks - however, there was no breakfast provided and the patio was locked and closed.

It was a lovely property - surprisingly quiet considering the decibel of most Italian scooters. It felt recently renovated and our small suite was very spacious for the two of us. The bathroom was fantastic and the bed was quite comfortable. They were under strict covid restrictions so the entire check in/out process was without contact. Everything worked like a charm. The best hotel stay of this trip. Extremely clean, modern, functional and comfortable hotel. The neighborhood is very noisy with moped traffic but the room was so well insulated that we were not aware of the noise.
The location is great - it's only 18-minute walk to the colosseum and other major sites.

Mood 44 could not have been better. The boutique experience began as soon as we were gratuitously greeted at the door. Check-in was smooth and we were able to check-in early after a long over-night international flight. We were walked escorted to our door and the room was amazing. Clean, updated and a trendy. The location was amazing, very close to all the main sights and close to restaurants and the Jewish district etc. 30 min. walk to the colosseum and otherwise a great area close to shops and the old town. The room itself was excellent, I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean and incredibly spacious, especially by European standards. The bathroom was clean with a rainfall shower and was also very spacious and nicely separated from the sleeping area. I will definitely be staying here again when I visit Rome again.

We loved Roberto and Ella and other staff, The location was charming, if a little hard to find at first. The breakfast was excellent up on the top floor, with Ellla making excellent coffee, eggs and omelets. plenty of local places for lunch and dinner, shopping etc. We were able to walk most places, but they called taxis for us when needed. Nice to be in a boutique hotel with such personable people. All was clean and comfortable. They even got us into our room early.

This was our first time visiting Rome, and we loved our stay at MOOD 44! By far, this is one of the best hotels we have stayed at anywhere. We found our room to be spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were outstanding. Each person we encountered was very hospitable and friendly. A light breakfast is included with the room, and was made by staff each morning. Eggs, meat, cheese, pastries, fruit, and yogurt were offered each morning (see picture), and it was wonderful to have so many options. We were impressed that even coffee (cappuccino, latte, espresso) was made to order by staff. The location of MOOD 44 felt tucked away, but it was easy to navigate to shopping, food, and the sites of Rome. MOOD 44 is perfect for couples or friends who are visiting Rome for several days or longer. The cost of the room for all the amenities and size of the room is amazing. This place is a hidden gem! Should we return to Rome, we will absolutely stay here again, and we would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Our expectations had been high, because we’d previously read other great reviews about this hotel and it’s staff. We were not disappointed... everything was wither as we expected it to be, or even better. All staff without exception were attentive, empathetic and helpful. In particular, Martina, Roberto and Edith were outstanding in their helpfulness towards us, and the maids and breakfast servers always very pleasant and profficient too. The room was nicely designed - modern, very clean and ergonomically designed. Best of all, this hotel is perfectly situated to see all the signts... most major signts are 10-minutes to half hour walk... e.g. Pantheon, Colleseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Vatican City. Thanks to all the team there for a wonderful holiday!
