Glenn and Mike were both fantastic at breakfast. Glenn was full of sights and information, and Mike was just spot on pleasant. On our last day after check-out, Fredrico stood with us in the rain until we got a cab to the airport. It was a wonderful stay!

Staff were lovely and keen to give recommendations. Hotel is in a good location and rooms were a good standard. You do need cash to pay the city taxes so just make sure you have a bit on arrival, they were fine with us paying it at checkout as we didn’t have cash when we first got there.

Hotel 55 was a pretty decent stay. Upon arrival, I could tell that it was going to be warmer than I had anticipated for the entire trip. The heat was on and the daytime temperatures ranged from 65-70 degrees (Second week of November). I wanted to turn the individual heating/cooling unit down but my only options were up or off so I opted to turn it off. That was the best option considering the mold that was growing inside the unit after taking a closer look before checking out. When I opened the window, the temperature inside felt a lot better.

Aside from that, the property appeared clean, had friendly staff, and a great breakfast menu. I enjoyed the location, as it was relatively close to everything. The only thing I would note is that during the day, it is difficult for a taxi or uber to pick you up due to heavy foot traffic so you may have to do a little walking to a less congested street to meet them.

We stayed in a superior room and it was very spacious. Staff were very helpful and kind. The room was spotless. The only minor hiccup was having to pay the city tax in cash, my fault! Should’ve checked! And it’s now made me aware that I need cash when travelling ;)

We booked Hotel 55 but we taken to another hotel called La Maison D’Art. It was half a kilometre away. It was small and the reception on our floor was so dirty I complained and then at midnight someone was outside our room scrubbing it. It was bad as we couldn’t sleep. For three nights they had Jack hammering outside our window so we didn’t get much sleep till we got to Dubai. Great location and breakfast but room was not Four Star like advertised and not hotel we booked.

Consider the following. We booked our room several months before our trip. When we arrived to check in, they had us walk with our bags a quarter of a mile to the overflow hotel. It was a hotel composed of several other hotels in one building. That was somewhat of a red flag but the least of our worries. The hallways and rooms had an odor that wasn’t great. The bathroom had these little grey stonefish-like bugs that kept appearing. The hotel also failed to inform us that the street below would undergo construction every night from 9:30pm to nearly 3:00am! Jackhammers, dump trucks and loud workers. We hardly slept the entire time. When we complained about the noise they told us that we could switch rooms for the final night. It wasn’t worth it because you can tell everyone in the building no matter where they stayed were affected by the noise. The housekeeping and breakfast staff were very nice but the people at the main building were very short and unhelpful. Beware if you plan on picking this hotel.

Our stay was fantastic. Hotel 55 sits directly on Via Del Corsa, one of the main walking streets in old Rome. All of the main sight seeing sites are within walking distance.

Hotel 55 staff are great. Providing help with taxis, attractions etc. Edwin the bar tender rocks! We will stay there again next time we’re in Rome

We stayed in the other hotel building in Via del Corso, 3-5 mins walk from the main building hotel 55. I didn’t know that at first. We checked in the main hotel 55 and walked to the other building, assisted by the bellboy.

Location was very accessible to all the luxury shopping centers, Spanish steps, Piazza del Popolo, Trevi and lots of churches, there was one just in front of our hotel. They have a lift for easy access to rooms.

Their breakfast chef Glen was absolutely amazing! He interacted with guest, super friendly. Huge thanks to Glen, super amazing and so helpful, gave great tips on where to go and what to do, and shared local history in Rome. Breakfast had a lot of choices and tasted good!

Felt safe in the hotel, staff were trusted and cleans room daily. I would 💯 recommend this hotel!

Hotel was in an excellent location for historical sites and high end shopping and restaurants. Service was friendly and the breakfast was great.
Only complaint is the WiFi did not work at all if your room is on an upper floor and we had to sit in the lobby to get access.

Terrible stay for a “4-star hotel” first of us when we got there we had to walk with luggage because there was a marathon going on and the hotel didn’t even have the courtesy of emailing guest. When we got to the room it was very dusty. Extremely small room! Only nice thing was the small balcony with a nice view. I wrote to staff several times and no answer. Would not recommend this place.

Worst hotel I've stayed at. First in foremost, I was practically eaten alive from bed bugs which the management seemed to not care about at all. Secondly, the walls are paper thin so you can hear the guy snoring 4 rooms over and every conversation in between. The bathroom fan did not work and we had no hot water from the sink. Not to mention, you get led through the city on a 3 minute walk only to be abandoned at the elevator inside the building to find your room. You're given a sheet with the access codes and a phone number for issues. But you can text them using \"Whatsapp\" which I don't have or intend to get. If you call you just get sent to voicemail. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this poor excuse for a hotel.

the main downside was somewhat misrepresentation of the higher room category. The pictures they posted with the hotel listing and the room we originally got were completely different. We got a dark, shoebox room, with absolutely no view (inside view like a prison). The price for the room I booked was quite high. After I complained, they gave us a new room, which was very similar to the ones on the pictures for hotel listing on expedia.

Hotel was not located where we purchased / researched. Had to walk a few blocks away on foot (wanted to avoid dragging luggage down packed streets to begin with). Room was similar to a closet with no windows. Also ordered a service to pick us up to take us to the airport. Front desk attendant said someone would call / text to confirm. No one did, so we ubered. Received a message the next day where they were trying to charge us since the driver DID arrive. I’m sorry, but I’m not risking a flight on blind faith, I expect confirmation of a requested service I am going to pay for. Either via call, text, or email. Never had an experience like this.

We were in the annex building. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend staying in the annex building. The security of the room felt a little lacking. The window could easily be opened from the outside and there was no lock. They need to heighten the security a bit more to make guest comfortable.

The staff was very helpful and friendly and offered prompt service when requested. The hotel felt relatively clean although the carpets were a bit dirty in the halls.

We were staying in the annex which is about a block away from the main hotel. The annex is on a very busy street close to the Spanish Steps but it was great to sit on the (tiny) balcony and enjoy the lively atmosphere, noise was not a problem. The room was pretty small but looked recently renovated, nicely decorated and very clean. Breakfast was great and served in the annex. The location is fantastic with most of the popular sites very walkable.

I express my deep disappointment regarding our recent stay with you. We booked a room at Hotel 55 – a four-star hotel – for five nights, but upon our arrival we were informed that we were being moved to a different hotel, which was smaller, further away, and with significantly lower standards than what was promised at the time of booking.
During our stay we encountered a series of serious issues, including: The room was not cleaned properly, the toilet was left in an unhygienic condition, cups were not replaced, coffee were not replenished, and towels were placed on the toilet seat. On the last day, not all types of towels were provided.
The shower handle was broken, the corridor carpet was very dirty, and the elevator was very old, small, and unsafe. There was no reception staff at the hotel, which forced us to walk back to the main building located about 500 meters away every time we needed assistance. When I requested a taxi booking, my request was refused with the explanation that taxis were outside the hotel – however, there were none ant that time, and we were forced to walk 2.5 km to our destination. This level of service is unacceptable for a four-star hotel.
The breakfast was good but with a poor selection that did not match the standard of 4 star hotel.

After booking on Expedia A nonrefundable night I decided to look online and had terrible reviews. I got to the hotel and was offered an upgrade for 30euros for a better room. So I took it. Let’s begin w the slow tiny elevator. Ended up using the stairs up and down the 4th floor. Room was dirty. When I requested a room change they advised the hotel was full. When I requested a refund so I can go book another hotel they said I needed to speak with the manager but that he wasn’t in until next morning. So I showed up the morning I was checking out. Manager now doesn’t work mornings only afternoon. There was nobody to help me find a solution to my problem and they weren’t nice about it. I left very disappointed and nobody solved my issues. Breakfast was terrible. Lack of food choices and food was just very low quality. Do not stay here

The hotel staff was so kind and amazing but the property itself is riddled with mold. I had to move rooms 3xs and finally gave up with the last room having the shower with rotted moldy wood which was better then the air conditioning units in the other 2 rooms and hallway. I have a very serious mold allergy which made it hard to breathe for me. I slept with the windows open and would caution anyone with these allergies to find another hotel for the safety of their help. The staff though did what they could to and listened to my concerns but there is nothing you can do when mold is growing out of the units in the hotel. You can’t stuff clean off a moldy fruit and serve it guests hoping it will make it better and they won’t get sick. It’s disappointing given the amount I paid to stay there at the hotel and would not ever be able to stay at this property again.

The location is perfect. Walking distance to many of the popular places and many dinning options all around. Only issue we had was the AC not working. We told the room attendant who stated they were waiting on a tech. I asked for another room the next day. No issue after that as the heat in August is insane. I had a number of feedback items that I was willing to share during checkout, but the receptionist seems to have never heard of the concept of \"how was your stay?\". He was completely shocked that I'm giving feedback and didn't appear to know what to do with what I was saying.

The hotel was a perfect location from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain plus shopping. Our stay in Rome was absolutely wonderful! The room was incredibly spacious, clean, and comfortable — a rare find in such a central location. But the real highlight was the breakfast — hands down the best we had during our trip! The hotel itself is very well located. However we weren’t told beforehand that there is a separate building where some guests are put. So when we arrived at midnight we needed to walk, with all our luggage, to a random building 8 minutes walk away with various codes to get into the building. It wasn’t quite what I had expected and as we were travelling with friends, ending up in separate buildings wasn’t ideal. Room itself was basic (minibar was empty, and not refilled daily) but clean.
