had a great stay at Hotel Homs. The location is perfect—just steps from the Spanish Steps and close to the Trevi Fountain. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Rome.

The reason to stay here is it is a short walk to Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Borghese Gardens, Pantheon. Want to see Trevi when it is not crowded? Walk over before breakfast. It is about a 5 minute walk to the Spagna stop on the Metropolitana. There is a taxi stand nearby and cross town bus routes. Hotel Homs is basic; no frills, small rooms, old building. But I did not come to Rome to stay in the room, it is convenient to everything in central Rome. Comfortable. Nice breakfast. Would happily stay here again. I threw my three coins in the fountain and I am definitely planning to return.

Staff was very helpful and even made us some breakfast to go when leaving on our last day. Only downside to mention is the WIFI reception. Horrible at the hotel itself however at the coffee shop much better.

Contrary to requests months in advance and being multiple repeat guests we were given clearly the worst and least accessible room. The receptionist on duty 5pm on 7/9/25 was at best unappreciative of circumstances at worst rude. Due to back problems we needed to be close to lift and no stairs. Also we are in mid 70s. We got the exact opposite room with almost no light. It took Alex another employee to not only facilitate our move to another room but also with multiple other issues. Many thanks to him.
The room they moved us to which was described as beautiful and perfect had only one plus and that is much light. Otherwise Lino floor lifting toilet seat off its axis shower spout not stay up and holder broken cistern constantly leaking wall cracked marked. Sometimes only 1 towel replaced. We had to ask for toilet paper almost daily. Etc etc etc.
the kitchen staff were good and breakfast was nice and good value.
We would not stay there again and it is certainly Not a 4 star hotel

I stayed here for one night and overall had a good experience. The hotel has a very convenient location, the room was clean and organized, and the staff were friendly. However, the main issue was that the staff had difficulties communicating in English. For an international hotel, I expected a better command of English to assist guests. Other than that, everything was fine.

I booked this property specifically because it advertised WiFi in both rooms and public areas. That was a complete lie. The WiFi in the room was basically non-existent. We reported the issue on the day we arrived, but no one on staff could (or would) help us during the entire stay.

If you need WiFi, a peaceful night’s sleep, or even the slightest bit of support from hotel staff, do not book this hotel. I regret wasting my money here.

There is no way this is a 4 star hotel. More like negative 4. Property covered in mold. We booked two rooms. Both are in terrible condition. Complained to staff, they offered us other rooms that were in same or worse condition. Pictures speak for themselves. Requested refund and went to another hotel the same day we checked in. Took Expedia two weeks to refund because hotel disputing condition. Expedia didn’t compensate for the inconvenience in any way because they said they got me a refund on a non refundable booking. Poor customer service to a Platinum member.

The only positive is the location. Great location.

As for the rest, please pick somewhere else. The hotel is definitely not 4 star. It is in desperate need or repairs and renovating. We booked the largest, mist expensive suite and during 100 degrees, the a/c in half the suite didn't work at all. It was nearly 85 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. We kept window, curtains and lights off to try and help but it didn't. We stayed for 4 nights and each day we asked for help. Excuses, excuses, excuses. We had 3 fans going st all times. It wasn't until the last night, after being unabke to enter the hot suite, that someone offered my older kuds another room for the night. She lnew the a/c was broken and thought we were told that it wouldnt be fixed until AFTER we checked out. I booked this hotel because it stated they had ac and i knew it was going to be hot. The toilet gurgled all night. The door knob to the bathroom fell off, tiles were cracked and moldy. After complaining for 4 days, we were given a 30% discount however, that wasn't enough to make up for 4 days of sweatingv and not being able to cool down after sight-seeing Rome.

This should be 2.5 star, not 4 star. we booked classic double bed room, got room 104 which is tiny compare to what shows in the pictures. Bathroom had mold all over, and it's shower has half gated meaning when you shower the water spills all over the bathroom, terrible design, very very very uncomfortable.
But the staff were very helpful, they changed our room to a better one, 204, it is way better, bathroom bathtub still has half covered, water still spills when shower, no molds tho
very convenient to walkable of lot of restaurants, shopping, attractions, etc.
Elevator is very very very tiny, same tiny space hall way, its hard to roll the standard check-in bags
Overall, bad experience, do NOT recommend this hotel with this price,

Ideally situated for the Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain, in a quiet neighbourhood. 30 minutes walk to the Colosseum and Forum and 45 to St Peters. We booked a 'superior' double room so had enough space, and a reasonable sized bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. The continental buffet breakfast had everything we needed, but occasionally some items ran out (depending on what time we arrived ), the staff also ran the adjacent coffee shop so it could take a little time for items to be replenished. It was the second time we have stayed at this hotel - however it is more like a 3 star than a 4 star - some of the decor is looking tired and the facilities are limited (no gym/pool/terrace bar). As a 4 star you also pay a premium on the city tax (which was 90 euro).

I was traveling for work with my teen daughter; she loved being around the sights, shops & eateries....it was not overly crowded or noisy at night. This is a 3* hotel. This is not what we expected for the money we paid per night and the pictures in the website. Everything inside is too old. It needs a complete inside refurbish or reconstruction. I understand is Rome, but I have been there before in a couple of 4* hotels in real good condition. Halls, rooms, breakfast, all are very tiny spaces. Bed and mattres old, uncomfortable, makes noise when moving. Wooden floor is split. This is not the place we expected for what we pay per night.
The good: location and the guy at breakfast who diligently prepared a bag for us to take for an early morning flight.

They had the kitchen open, but they told us you had to ask for a breakfast to go the night before. No one ever told us that, so we paid for breakfast for nothing.

The Home Away from Home I Needed

The location was absolutely perfect. Not on a main street, but just busy enough outside that I felt comfortable walking home alone from the nearby Spanish Steps Metro station at 23:00.

The breakfast plan is excellent, with foods of various cultural approaches to this first meal of the day (Italian, American, etc.).

The room for one was large enough--for one. The daily service to the room (clean-up/replenishments made the room like new upon daily return (unless I opted for \"do not disturb\" the room that day).

I would strongly consider this hotel again. I would seek out staying at their other properties in various countries as well.

My family stayed at this hotel for four nights Piazza Spagna Metro stop was within walking distance it was very well situated. We felt safe at all hours of the night. I mean overall in Rome we felt safe. There are plenty of restaurant options close by. The room was what you expect from a European hotel. Small, good amenities, good warm water and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Easy access sightseeing but not value for money

The location is great is undeniable.
The room I got was weird. Terribly hot in room asked multiple times if heat could be lowered or atleast turned off but they didn’t. I would open windows but housekeeping kept closing it so I came to a hot room every evening. I sweat more in the room than on my activities. Bedding is good. Restroom configuration wasn’t great. The shower was not pointing in towards bath tub but towards the outside, if I didn’t take care, there would be water all over the floor. Plus the contraption that controls if we have water in shower or tap for a bath was broken so couldn’t take a bath. I informed the front desk. They kindly took everything down but nothing got done about it. I had a very short trip so didn’t want to ruin it by having to go ask and tell them over and over. I just hope they fix the issues with that room before they give it to others. For the amount I paid and room I got, I think there were other options available when I booked it. Especially since it was off peak season. Suggest if staying longer than 2 days and you need a good soak in bath tub after a long day of sightseeing to look for other options.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of our 2-week tour of Italy, and we were so impressed (especially with the staff) that we came back to Rome a night earlier so we could spend our last night in Italy in these familiar and very comfortable surroundings. We loved the staff - so helpful and friendly, and appreciated that 24/7 front desk.

I've found my home when in Rome! My daughter and I had a suite, which was very quiet, comfortable, and roomy. There's a little cafe downstairs in the hotel - convenient for a quick breakfast before heading out for the day. But the highlight is the staff: Gildo, the day manager, was kind, considerate, and even helped me find a dentist when I broke a tooth and needed immediate care. I love this hotel and highly recommend it!
