Good Hotel with Quirky Decor

Lovely quirky hotel in a very good location, close to the Spanish steps. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were large and individually decorated. Each floor had a different look. It was a shame that the bar was so expensive and that no breakfast is offered on site.

Hotel has a good location and it was cleaned every day. The bar downstairs and entertainment was good as well. We just had issues with our fridge in the room, which we requested to be checked or exchanged, but we were told we had too many drinks on it. We booked two rooms, the other room's fridge had the same amount of bottles

In the heart of Rome but still quiet somehow. We didn't have a view in that area (expected), but the room was large and great for our family (2 kids 8/10). We walked right out into the main shopping area and dining options, easily navigated. There was a bar in the lobby area that was in a different location around the corner, which seemed normal for that area. Communication and the staff were wonderful and so helpful with our arrival and transportation.

Beautiful hotel. They are redoing their floors and we were upgraded to a suite with a sauna in the room. How cool! Staff was extremely helpful and full of recommendations. Walking distance to sights, loads of shopping, and delicious restaurants. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Neither Expedia or the property website mentioned anything about the entire building being under major construction, wrapped in black netting, surrounded by scaffolding, and highly dangerous thick cement dust everywhere. Unable to open windows, dust blows in room and throat burns. Management wouldn’t do anything about a refund but we had to leave for health reasons. The pictures do not at all accurately reflect the poor condition of the interior room. Much better hotels nearby. Total scam, do not stay. (Feb 2023).

Room was not the same as showed online, it is smaller, dirty and old, not a 4 star hotel, also had the smallest elevator I have ever seen looks more like a service elevator. The plus side very good location.... breakfast was good to...

Hotel Spagna Royal Suite

Spagna Royal Suite was chosen for a one night hotel stay prior to a cruise. We arrived at the hotel after a long flight at approx 11 am however was not allowed to check in until after 1pm. The hotel appeared cleaner in the public areas than in the room and the room we were placed in had vast amounts of peeling paint in the ceiling above the room. I would not recommend this hotel nor would I consider staying at this hotel ever again. The room we were assigned would not be up to any US standard, that is why I’m so confused about the high rating. I am aware that the hotel is located within a 5 min walk to the Spanish steps. The hotel is located in a prime area however they are many other hotels in the area. 8 can not recommend this hotel!!!

The apartment we stayed in (though away from the hotel) was SPECTACULAR! It felt as though we lived in Rome, in a luxury penthouse. Concierge at the hotel booked our tours and mapped things out for us so nicely! They paid the taxi fares for our group of 7 from the hotel-apartment. The apartment location in Piazza Barbirini location gave us easy access to all the sights, a gorgeous view, and even live music Fri & Sat nights! Only 2 very minor property concerns (that were not just PERFECT;) 1- the keys werent labeled (so we kept mixing them up). 2- the hail storm caused some rain to leak in from the master bedroom windows (they brought us extra towels)! All in all- we LOVED it and would stay again and recommend to friends- no question! We did leave a bible in one of the rooms on accident- hoping they will ship to us!

If you book this as Air B&B it’s good, if you book this as hotel then not worth it. This are apartments being rented as suites. THis IS NOT a HOTEL. Shower did not work, iron did not work.
I have to say they responded quick but always had excuses. Clean rooms and spacious but not a hotel. They should rent under Air B&B, shame in Expedia for booking as hotel. I will never book this again since I stay at hotels.

Excellent location and pleasing hotel

The best location - Would recommend for this alone.

Service was great, the staff always accommodated for us when they could and were polite and helpful.

Our room was small but had plenty of storage and was comfortable.

Only had breakfast on one day, and the food and coffee was quite good- better than expected. Nothing fancy, but enough to prepare you for a day of sight seeing.

Overall, a brilliant stay- would definitely recommend and come again!

Hotel was rather quirky but the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We missed having a lounge where you could sit; when you return from sight-seeing there is only your bedroom, which in our case was quite small. You cannot fault the position of the hotel - right in the middle of Rome.

The hotel was in a very nice location extremely close to shopping and restaurants. The Spanish Steps are extremely close. Other tourist destinations are in walking distances as well. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable as well. Overall the hotel is a great choice for room if you are looking for a boutique type of hotel.

Great gem in the middle of it all

Hotel was great staff was super supportive, however we asked for a wake up call two days in a row and that never happened. But the hotel is in the middle of everything the best shopping good places to eat and super safe.

Huge room and large bathroom. Extreamly impressed with the hotel. Staff tried to speak English but as I said they lost a star because of the wake up call situation. For which we nearly missed our train...

Staff very attentive and pleasant, location excellent. Room was a little run-down and breakfast area was very small. We were accommodated in a room directly behind reception which felt a bit strange and intrusive though to be fair the actual noise and intrusion was minimal. On the whole it was a good hotel but in our opinion wasn't worth the premium over other hotels in a similar area. We also booked private transportation through the hotel and while we got a town car on arrival our vehicle bringing us to the airport at the end of our stay was a white taxi. While they don't specify that you'll receive a private car they do set that expectation so that was a minor disappointment.

Beautifully, individually designed spaces. Each room and suite, each corridor, each with a different scheme, each with attention to little details. Mirrors and chandeliers, walls covered with upholstered fabric or with wood and stone, large soft sofas, giant headboards.

Amazing stay and friendly staff

It was my first trip to Rome and I stayed at Spagna Royal Suite, I have to say that this hotel was amazing in every sense of the word, right from the location to how friendly and helpful the staff were.

The location is brilliant, walking distance to a lot of the major landmarks and amenities with bars and restaurants around the corner.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant (especially the evening staff). I had made special requests with Spagna Royal Suite and they executed it perfectly making mine and my girlfriends (now fiancée) stay incredible.

I would definitely go back and stay there. Rome is a beautiful city with a lot to see and do. I recommend going there!

Convenient and nice hotel near Spanish steps.

We booked the family suite l and it was huge and comfortable for 3 of us. The room is spacious and very nicely decorated. The staff were also very helpful and greeted us with fresh juice and refreshments upon our arrival. Located in shopping districts and near Spanish steps, good location to travel around in Rome too. The staff also help us with lugguages as well and booked taxis to airport. The only thing if I may recommend for improvement is probably to have better breakfast, the variety is little and we were eating the same things everything.

Hotel is in the heart of Rome tourist district with streets of designer shops and sophisticated restaurants and perfectly acceptable pasta and pizza fuel stops. And if you are into churches you will find it impossible to go more than a 100 yards for passing another one. Afterwards you return to the hotel which is like entering a surrealist's aladdin's cave spun from the brain of someone with a vigorous sense of the whimsical and the absurd

Great Stay at Spagna Royal Suites

We really enjoyed our 4 nights at Spagna Royal Suites. We booked an Executive Room & it was huge (#301). There were two rooms, each had a double bed. The bathroom had a huge shower. Because of our room choice & being on the 3rd floor, we were able to get breakfast delivered to our room at no charge (apparently not the case with all rooms & floors). That was such a nice surprise! This hotel is convenient to most attractions, we walked all over Rome. The neighborhood is very safe right at Piazza Spagna, and there are tons of restaurants to choose from. The front desk was friendly & helpful when I called. The gentleman that delivered our breakfast & cleaned our room was very nice, always smiled and said hello. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to stay at the Spanish Steps. Note that check in is on the fourth floor, I wouldn't have know that but the nice gentleman was at the enterance when we arrived. He sent us up to check in & followed with our bags. I would stay here again.

Perfect location! a total gem!

Booked hotel based on other people's review. Spent more than i would have liked too. Best location in Rome, really amazing and quiet and a stone throw from the Spanish Steps.
The hotel itself is really welcoming on arrival and the staff are super helpful. The manager told us her loved places in Rome which we would have never of gone too, off the tourist track and really made the trip extra special.
The reception area, hallways are too a very high standard. The room was nice enough, I guess the website vamps the rooms more than they are. Our room needed a little love and care, but didn't effect us in the slightest, just some missing tiles, ripped fabric on the bed, needed a lick of paint etc.
Breakfast was 'okay' and just 'okay'. Again was enough, but would have been nice to have something hot to help with the long walking days- don't book breakfast- just go out, more choice and we did on day two.
Overall, really super hotel. Would 100% stay again.

Booked a standard room for 3 nights. As we saw on the homepage that there is a standard room with a round bed, before arrival we informed the hotel to be so kind to give us NOT the round bed as my husband is quite tall and the bed to small. When we arrived we were given of course exactly this room with the round bed! Fortunately, as there weren't another standard room available, we've got a free room upgrade with normal bed. Actually it was very nice, not spacious but with a good view, mirrors on the wall and the bed was comfy. But we recognized it was quite shabby too, as the walls were full with stains and also our bedlights weren't working. When we informed the reception about the lights, we were told that some guest must have broken them. But no offer of fixing them?! Breakfast was poor! We decided to eat outside! As a result, hotel is to pricy and isn't royal when you take a closer look on the details.

Great value base with a cool vibe

Look for the giant green door opposite Hugo boss to get in. The young blonde lady who checked us in was warm and helpful. The room was large, especially large compared to other options and has a niche / alternative /modern decor which we loved. Our room was a little tired, but I think it is one of the older rooms. Breakfast is adequate as continental breakfasts go with plentiful coffee (essential). Unfortunately the re emotion it's on our check out clearly forgot to order our transfer to the airport and then tried to cover up the mistake rather than being honest. This was unfortunate as otherwise I think i would have given 5s all round for the price.

Great short stay fit a first trip to Rome. We had a cute upgrade to the red high heeled shoe room that was super neat. After a long couple days of sight seeing I have to say that the bed was super comfy. Really only drawback was the square toilet that matched the modern unique decor...not so comfy! Overall great place to stay. We will be back!!

This is not a regular type of hotel, it's in an old building close to the Spanish Steps. Although it's not to our usual standards, it provides everything you need for a short stay in Rome. Amazing location, luxurious room

We had a great 3 days in Rome using Spagna Royal as a base, First issue was we found it using phone maps otherwise it could be difficult as it is just a name card in an apartment intercom/ no sign no lobby to the street.
But once you are inside wow. It matches any luxury hotel we have stayed in and the corridor areas are the best I have seen anywhere. Highly recommended, We will stay here again

This hotel is in a great spot. It has two of four floors of a building owned by the vatican. Beautifully restored and done in a treny boutique style. Staff and service was excellent as was the buffet breakfast. Very happy with our stay.
