Close to Spagna metro station so easy to get from the airport to hotel via train and metro.

Nice amenities including shampoo/conditioner/body wash/hair dryer/bath salts/in room robes. Our room had windows that opened both to the street and to a central open area, which was great for air flow.

We had a Junior Suite that was spacious, well appointed and nicely decorated. Both the room and bathroom were a bit tired, but everything worked fine. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding good quality. The bathroom was big with double sinks and plenty of space for toiletries. The hotel is located in a charming little street in a very busy part of Rome, so it was quite noisy at night and early in the morning, even though we had shutters and good quality windows. I guess it is to be expected in this location. A few things were very disappointing and this is why I can't give a higher rating, cleanliness being the first one. The bathroom was fine, but the coffee machine was dusty, there were some crumbs on the floor and the door of the fridge was dirty. I dropped a black sweater on the floor next to the ottoman and it was covered in dust when I picked it up. Not acceptable. Also, we had individual toiletries in the bathroom with a protective seal, which guarantees freshness and hygiene. Yet, the body lotion was half empty and smelled really bad. I threw it away and didn't think much of it, but the next day, the body wash was also almost empty. Both had a seal. Not too sure what to think of that. Finally, the pictures on Expedia show a lovely boutique hotel with a nice reception, but these are not pictures of the hotel, there is no reception at all, just a desk in the bar that is on the first floor of the building - the photos do not show that, this is very deceptive.

As soon as you walk in the place is beautiful. The location is perfect with so many options to eat and shop. It very walkable from the Spanish Steps and other landmarks.

The staff were so amazing! They remembered personalized details about me. As well as offering great recommendations around the city.

The room was spacious and clean. I also loved how hot the water got as well. The restaurant attached was delicious, it was one of our favorite meals in Rome. I’d definitely recommend this place to everyone. Next time I go to Rome I will be back here!

The location was fantastic. Just around the corner from the Spanish Steps in a wonderful, vibrant neighborhood with restaurants, shopping, etc. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and did everything in their power to make my stay wonderful. This is an older building but the hotel had been carefully integrated into this historical building. The room, with a few quirks, was very pleasant and comfortable. We loved our stay here.

This hotel was amazing and a hidden gem. I recommend it highly. The staff was wonderful. I speak Italian so I did not need many services from them, but I heard them relating to English speaking clients and they were so helpful getting them rides and restaurant reservations and whatever they needed. They were very friendly. The room was wonderful and even though I read that some people felt it was noisy because of the location I was even able to keep my windows open in high travel season, and it was no problem whatsoever. You can walk to everything from here and I would gladly come again. five stars!

I have only good things to say about this hotel , its my 5th visit there, i go there every 2-3 years and every time it is excellent.

First the reception, very nice , very helpful, try to do everything for their guests.

Cleanliness, very clean hotel , every day cleaning and replacing sheets.

Location is amazing, walking distance from every attraction in rome and near alot of restaurants and food attractions.

They did renovation and open a restaurant in the lobby.

Next time in rome i will stay there again.

Cons:
1. Deceptive advertising. The expedia photos show a different hotel. Mario Dfiori 37 rooms are above a noisy bar. Checkin is at the bar.
2. The listing shows elevator access. This is incorrect. The elevator did not go up to our floor. The stairs were an unexpected issue because they were narrow and steep.
3. The stairs were dimly lit and a loose handrail along the stairs is dangerous.
4. Our hotel room had different levels with stairs connecting different parts of the room.
5. The sloped ceiling was low. There is a danger of banging your head in the ceiling. Height is approximately 5 foot in the bedroom on one side
6. The elevator was too small to allow larger people to use it and it does not go to all rooms.
7. The person checking us in did not seem to want to show us how the lights, air-conditioning or power worked in the room.

Overall the hotel is not suitable for seniors or those with limited mobility or small children.

Finally, the hotel charged a $12/night room tax upon checkout however, the room tax quoted by City law is $7.50 per night.

A lovely little hotel but it is listed as 37 in the hotel list but in fact 37 is the the fancy Hotel Condotti next door. This is 37B. Misleading I feel. And inconvenient when all our luggage had been trundled in to 37 to be told go next door please.
The life wasn’t working which was tedious and difficult with large luggage.
However overall the service was very good and the staff charming and helpful with recommendations. Rooms were a good size and the toilet was separate. Great location for the centre of Rome. Well priced for the area.

We traveled to Italy on a long delayed trip and we stayed at Mario del Fiore for five nights. Wonderful hotel with great staff. Located near the Spanish Steps but in a comfortable neighborhood we had easy access to pretty much all of the center city. We missed having an in-hotel restaurant but we were advised there will be a spot later this year. No worries though, the streets around the hotel were full of great restaurants , shops and gelato bars. Also a small market nearby. We were able to walk to the Colosseum, Trastevere, the Borghese, and all the other major attractions. A great stay at a terrific hotel.

Great location a short walk from Spagna metro station and within walking distance to many of the Rome highlights. The room was spacious and very quiet. The bed was comfortable and the cleaning lady was very thorough and diligent.
Unfortunately I was ill whilst staying at this hotel and the hotel were very helpful by organising a doctor to visit delivered meals to my room from the attached restaurant. I was unable to travel until a day after I was due to checkout & they kindly let me stay another day.

I could not be more pleased with our stay at this delightful little boutique hotel located on a side street mere minutes away from the Spanish Steps, the Villa Borghese Gardens, shopping and dining. The location is ideal. The hotel is in an old building and thus the layout is quirky, but I love quirky - lots of winding steps and nooks and crannies, but there IS a small elevator. The look is not antique - it is clean and modern and comfortable. We stayed in suite #7 on the top (attic) floor, and absolutely loved it. The bedroom/sitting area has a sloped beamed ceiling which is charming. There are two large closets, a desk area and an absolutely huge and gorgeous marble bath with soaking tub and a large shower with both rain shower heads and hand-held. Every toiletry was there and then some plus lots of towels, bathrobes and slippers. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. My only caveat is that this particular suite, because of the several levels within (again, this is the former attic) is not for people with any mobility issues - you need to be able to navigate a few steps into the entrance of the suite, another few steps up to the bedroom, and then another step up to the hallway where the walk-in closet and bath are located. The staff are professional and friendly, and our room was cleaned and made up beautifully every day. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

We stayed here for 3 nights in Rome and had a great experience with this boutique hotel. We were checked into our room immediately upon our arrival and the staff was very friendly. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is about 2 blocks from the Spanish Steps and about 10 minutes to Trevi Fountain. We chose to take taxis to the Vatican in the morning, but we actually decided to walk back and have lunch along the way. The hotel room size was good for Rome and had everything we needed including a large bed.
I would definitely recommend if you like to stay in smaller hotels with great locations where they know their guests. Breakfast was not included, but they have a relationship discount with a small cafe around the corner.

We love this hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They always greet you with a smile. The location is FANTASTIC. So many things are in walking distance. We stayed in room 102. For some reason this room was VERY warm, even with the heat turned off. Needed to open the window to cool it off. Also the room is next to the lift, so it’s kind of noisy. We’ve stayed in room 103 before and will book that room in the future.

Need to Improve their Game

The hotel itself was fair value for the cost. It is in a great location just a block away from the spanish steps. The staff is wonderful and are very responsive to requests.

There are a few things that could be improved. The hotel room we were in #103 needs some TLC. Shower head did not work properly, shower door did not close properly , etc.

Worst thing was central heating control. We were there in March and the rooms were like an oven as we could not adjust our own room so we were forced to sleep with the windows open and listened to late night restaurants and bars down below until the wee hours of the morning.

Also be forewarned that there is a construction project directly across the street that starts at 8 AM promptly (not a problem when the windows are closed )

Staff was amazing. Thank you Olga for all your help. The rooms were big enough. Location was perfect. I recommend ristorante 34 for food was the best. Unik and birreria were good too. Venchi gelato the best chocolate hazelnut, it’s like Ferrero rocher chocolates but in ice cream.
We didn’t like that the air is centralized so you either have hot or cold. The room was hot but we couldn’t use the air conditioning so we opted to open the windows and turned off the heat. Which was noisy for all the garbage trucks working.
Also, the bathrooms were see through. I guess nobody has ever comment that.
From the bed you could see everything in the toilet or shower.

Great find! The one bedroom suite was spacious and clean. Best location in all of Rome, walkable to great restaurants, shopping, etc… the staff were very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to staying here again!
