Excellent hotel and location walking 3 min to Spanish Steps. The hotel and the front desk is located in second floor arriving there don’t get confused just take the elevator up. Continental breakfast costs 7euro per person you can pay daily. Small fridge inside the room I suggest buy water from the markets and stock it up you will need it for the summer . Do not travel in July and August it’s extremely hot and humid. Take flip flops tennis shoes will cook your feet walking over the black cobblestones.

Excellent location, walking distance to all the monuments and shopping stores and restaurants. Very nice, friendly, informative and professional staff.
The only problem was that Uber wouldn't pick you up from the hotel in that area and we had to walk with our luggages to meet the driver few streets away, and it's really difficult to roll the luggages on those streets uneven stone pavements. But overall we had a great experience of this hotel.

Hotel Forte is perfectly located as you’re within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and tons of amazing shopping and restaurants. Morning breakfast was delicious. I happen to be in Rome in April, and we experienced a bit of a heat wave. I will say the air conditioning in my tiny room just wasn’t adjustable or sufficient. I had to sleep with the window open all night long. The staff, however, was very friendly and responsive.

I have stayed at this hotel before, and it has always been very good. Reception friendly and efficient, and breakfast was good. The shower in my room does need a bit of work as some of the tiles were missing and there were some tiles that needed cleaning.
You can't beat the location just a little over a block from the Spanish Steps and some really good restaurants.
This was a family trip and we had 3 rooms

I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. The hotel is completely outdated, the room was very dirty. Aside from the fact that the room was very outdated and the decor was old and dark. The room I stayed in was extremely dirty! The walls had stains on it, the mattress was a hard cardboard, the bathroom tiles were grimy and the bathroom ceiling near the shower had mold. I paid $900 a night (taxes included) for this hotel… I was expecting for the rooms to at least be clean and fresh. It was completely overpriced for what it is and was a total waste of money!
The only upside was the location and the friendly staff.

This hotel was in a great location. In the heart of Rome so walkable to Trevor Fountain (10 minutes), Spanish Steps (7 minutes), shopping galore. It’s located on a small quiet street across from Miu Miu & Chanel, Gucci just around the corner. Also, banks, restaurants (Dilla Restaurant-highly recommend) all around so the location is perfect. The hotel, however, is so very old and dirty. I stayed in the triple room (double bed & 1 twin bed downstairs with the bathroom) & the last night was $650 Euro which was exorbitant for a tiny room with no light. It was dingy & musty and the bathroom was horrible (moldy). I love the staff who was very friendly & helpful but the hotel was terrible. So, if you stay there, bring a candle to mask the smell. Don’t say you were NOT warned.

If u want to experience the true charm of Rome this is your place! Location is excellent and just a 5 minute walk to Spanish Steps and the metro. The area is filled with upscale shops, restaurants and galleries. Yes, the rooms are extremely small but it’s expected in this part of the city. It’s what makes this place special. Included a charming simple breakfast each morning. I recommend and would stay here again.

Our neighbors had stayed at Hotel Forte and recommended it to us. We’re really glad they did. It is very close to the Spanish Steps and a Metro station. There are many quaint Italian restaurants within easy walking distance. The Trevi fountain is not very far by foot. We spent 4 wonderful days there.

The room we were in was very clean but felt a wee bit like a Harry Potter room as we were at the side of the staircase and lift,outside the main entrance to the hotel.
It was very small with even a smaller bathroim, however this wasnt too much of a problem as we dont tend to sit in the room only sleep there after a days aightseeing HOWEVER if you do like to sit and take in the roman ambience then i wouldnt recommend thw hotel as its just not possible in the space.

The hotel staff are wonderful and very helpful, the rooms and bathrooms clean with plenty of towels.

The street is a historic street and close to the spanish steps. We have stayed in a few centre of rome hotels before but this was by far the noisiest, which lead to us being a bit sleep deprived.

Overall good location, lovely breakfast and great staff but its location wont be for everyone, the rooms may be a bit small for some peoples liking and I would reccomend taking earplugs

I have stayed at this hotel twice within the last year and I will continue to stay here in the future. The hotel is well appointed, free AND very good Wifi, breakfast is included and is more than enough to get your day started. The most important thing with this hotel is the proximity to major sights Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Colosseum) as well as to downtown Rome. Rooms are the typical size for a European hotel, smaller than what you would get in America, however that does not change the value of this hotel one bit.

Hotel Forte was extremely close to major sights and a walkable distance to much of Downtown Rome. I would stay here over and over again. Hotel rooms are slightly smaller than I expected however not much time is spent in the hotel anyway. TV had no American channels, although it would have been nice to have some channels I could understand, not an issue and I would recommend this hotel to anyone on their trip to Rome. Spagna Metro stop is less than a 5 minutes walk from the hotel, which opens up the rest of Rome should you not want to walk. Breakfast is the perfect amount of food to get your day started and each and every time you leave or come back to the hotel for the day or night, you are greeted by the picturesque Roman street of Via Margutta. 10/10 quality for the hotel.

How is it I booked the vacation month's in advance and a friend decided to jopin and add my reservations to hers. Yet my room was soooo tiny that taking a shower I had to go in sideways because the sink was in front of the shower and using the toilet again, I had to step sideway. We stayed here for four nights as a family of four with two children (ages 9 and 4). This hotel was situated in Via Margutta, one of the most beautiful streets of all Rome. Close to nearby Spanish Steps, Metro, Shops, Restaurants, Markets and Bars. The staff were very warm and polite. Our room was quite, clean and space was adequate. This location can’t be beat. Via Margutta is an oasis. Room is well appointed, quiet and with comfortable beds. Small inconveniences like no tissue in the room, no facecloths and an average at best breakfast. But these are minor compared to the experience of staying in a nice hotel in the most conveniently located part of Rome.

A lovely hotel,staff are very welcoming and will bend over backwards to help you.The rooms are small but your not sitting in your room all day,it’s just to put your head down.Lovely and clean,the bathroom shower is very small so if your on the larger size I think you would have trouble getting into it.It is situated in a back street but has beautiful features,in a lovely old building on the first floor.Very easy to find and two minutes walk to the Spanish steps,5mins from the Trevi Fountain and the beautiful shopping area right on your doorstep.

Check in was a really bad experience as the receptionist yelled at me upon our arrival because I rang the doorbell more than once. He opened the door and yelled \"why are you ringing like this\" even told me multiple times that he thought we are not good people(!!!) because we rang more than once. I, as a responsible guest called the hotel the day before, that my estimated arrival is around midnight and I hope that is not a problem, the person on the phone said \"no miss, we are open 24h\". He did not by one word mention that the hotel does not have a reception you can enter from the street as it is only occupying the first floor of a bulding, and that the main door of the bulding would be locked upon our arrival. Anyway, the hotel is very well located, it is the absolute best location one can choose for visiting Rome, and also everything was spotlessly clean. We did not encounter any problem with other personnels. Breakfast was ok, typical Italian. I would stay in this area again without doubt, however I would not return to a palce where they greeted my with such rude manners.

We chose Forte for its location and price. We were not disappointed. We arrived earlier than check in but rooms were available, we were offered 2 to choose from, both fairly small (as expected) clean and comfortable. Mini bar stocked with wine, water and chocolate (reasonably priced) no hot drink facilities in the rooms, . We were advised of all the necessary information by the receptionist who was helpful and friendly. Bed was comfy and warm. Breakfast was again good value (served between 7 & 10.30), lots of choice; cereals, pastries, yoghurt, breads, meat, cheese, hot eggs and bacon, teas, juices and biscuits. Coffees were freshly made to order. Located in the ‘hight end’ shopping area, a short stroll to the Spanish steps, the Metro, Restaurants and Cafes (we found these less expensive than other areas) Lots more affordable shopping on route to Ancient Rome (walkable). Access to the 1st floor hotel is via a lift or stairs. Check out was again straight forward, we paid what we expected and the Receptionist was again very helpful and friendly (especially when we couldn’t remember our credit card PIN number!) and we were able to store our cases while we did some more sightseeing before leaving later that day

But other than that I loved everything!! If you don't mind the small room just enjoy the location and go out for breakfast!! Location is everything!!

I would say the hotel was adequate. Our room was too small. The breakfast was the least attractive feature and we mostly ate around the corner at a small, very popular cafe instead. Otherwise the service was quite good. Our room was cleaned every day. The staff friendly and helpful. The location was amazing. Via Margutta is a lovely, quiet strèet just minutes from the Spanish Steps and an easy walk to the Pantheon, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Navona.

One of the worst Hotels in Rome

We have been in Italy three times this year and this was far the worst hotel. We chose it online from Hotels.com because of the photos and localization.
They gave us a room for one person not for a couple, the bed was a small tween bed, didn't have space around on both sides. The tiny bathroom had a shower box measuring 27x27 inches that no person can move inside, no place for a shampoo or even for a soap. You enter in this shower box with your soup on your hand but you can't drop it because you are not able to get it from the shower floor. So how can someone take a shower grabbing a soup all the time? There is no place to hung any towel, your bath towel is left on your bed and when you enter the bath there is no place to put it! The breakfast is a joke. Two Italian ladies talking loudly with each other all time. The bread is sliced sandwich bread in bags, the cheese is sliced and comes from a tupperware below the balcony. The tiny kitchen behind has no space to clean up the utensils. Its a real joke.
Don't go, don't go, don't go!
The concierge when we arrive looks in bad bad mood and tired of tourists! We got lucky because at the last day the concierge was a gentleman, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately I don't know his name. Whoever was who was working in the morning of Sep 29th 2017 we want to thank you for you help and education.

Spent 6 nights at this classy older 1st floor boutique hotel, helpful English speaking staff, cool open cage elevator, surprisingly quiet area, just a block off major sights with high end shopping.
Good king sized bed and linens, but took up space in the smallish room. Bath had very nice shower with no lack of hot water and soaps, but pretty tight space. Breakfast generous with eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries , juices, coffees. Fresh fruit would make it perfect.
This was my second stay here. Will return if in Rome again.

Great location.

We were disappointed in the hotel. Room was very small. Could not make a cup of tea or coffee in the room. No daylight. No English Channel on the TV.
Little choice for breakfast and the tea and coffee was always cold.
The noise levels were terrible from upstairs from about 5am..
The hotel is not what we saw when we booked.

Close to Spanish Steps

Great location, about 3-4 min walk to Spanish Steps, Metro, and taxi stand right on the piazza. On a quiet side street; lots of restaurants within walking distance. All the big name designers have their stores in this area. Rooms small (as expected in Europe). Shower had nice hot water with good pressure.
AC worked great. Nice breakfast with quiet a lot of choice.

Only problem was with housekeeping (reason for lower scores), which ignored our room one day & went home. No one else to cover. Front desk person was helpful getting us
clean sheets & helped my husband change the bed!

Very Cozy Hotel

the staff are great and will go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. they were so helpful when my child got sick during our stay. i would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a cozy, clean and hotel free of headaches. Thank you for all of the staff. You have all been great to us.

No better location

Right at the beginning of Via Margutta, just 4 minutes from the Spanish steps…in restaurant and shopping central. Very accommodating staff. They addressed our dog by name. Loved the hotel's classic look and the finshes of the room. While our particular room was small, the bed was heaven to sleep in.

The hotel was in a perfect location right next to the Spanish steps and spagna metro which ran to termini station .We walked to all the amazing sights so not to miss any of the lovely buildings or churches on the way.The area is great for shopping and food.The hotel .provides a great breakfast.We would book this hotel again.

Excellent hotel, location nearby to attractions

We had the best hotel experience at Hotel Forte. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Overall, the location of the hotel is the best place to be at. In the evenings you are guaranteed to have a quiet space. It is close to major attractions and major shopping stores. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to everyone, it is a friendly and clean environment. We also personally want to thank Mr. Valdimiro, he made us feel at home and went out of his way multiple times to makes us feel comfortable. His generosity and hospitality gives an extra spark to this hotel. We are happy to say that we will stay at this hotel again in the near future! Best of luck to Hotel Forte and its staff.

A small beautifully positioned boutique hotel

An enjoyable stay. Felt well looked after. The service was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable. I have now stayed at Hotel Forte many times and I will always return if I get to Rome again..

Hotel Forte....style and comfort....

Hotel Forte was beautiful. Located on a very quaint cobbled street complete with blossomed vines and very close to The Spanish Steps. Old style elevator takes you to the first floor where you find the lobby and breakfast room. 'Bar' is not a bar serving alcohol it is the breakfast room. 'Hotel shuttle' translates to the hotel reserving a taxi for you. Room and bathroom were very small but had everything we needed. Staff was friendly and very helpful and most spoke English. Hotel was clean and beautifully appointed. Loved our time there.

Great location and staff

The location and staff were grisly amazing. They were always there to help us with anything that we needed or wanted. We booked a triple room and it was tight but since it was just a room that was fine. The wifi in the hotel was very poor but it was an old stone building so again it's fine.

Great location

Right near the base of the Spanish steps Spagbs station and great restaurants. We loved browsing the restaurants and Gelato places. Our best meal was at Dilt. Fantastic food.
