Hotel Panda was fantastic! The staff was very friendly, and they even opened my bottle of wine for me when I forgot my wine key. The complimentary breakfast was perfect; espresso machine, delicious cornetto, toast, deli tray, fruit juice… very convenient to start the day. My room was modest but the perfect size for solo travel with an 8 night stay. The location is unmatched! It’s within about a mile of sooo many main attractions, I walked almost everywhere! The metro stop is also convenient if you’ve got further to go. Tons of restaurants nearby, but the one on Via della Croce are pretty standard tourist fare. Turn on a side street for better food options. Hotel Panda will be my hotel of choice whenever I’m in Rome!

I had a great time at Hotel Panda. It’s in the middle of Rome, and there is so much shopping and so many sights within walking distance. The hotel itself is perfect; my room was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the staff were polite and helpful. I will definitely be back!

Very convenient location to the attractions with many restaurants right at the door. It's an old building, and you have to take stairs to the rooms. The staffs are very nice, and the rooms are very clean with towel change every 2 days. But the rooms are small with limited space for luggages. The breakfast is VERY simply, so don't expect much. No bottle waters, no coffee machine, no refrigerator, no microwave, etc.

Friendly little hotel near Spanish Steps

Hotel Panda is a budget hotel in a great location in Rome. It's not much more than a stone's throw from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain is just a little way from that. I actually walked everywhere in Rome from Hotel Panda, but you could easily use the metro, as I believe there is a station not far away.

The staff member I met on my stay was incredibly friendly and that made for a nice welcome. The room was clean and reasonably spacious, if a little worn in places, and the bed was comfy (especially the pillows - where did they get those pillows?).

The immediate area is nice enough, if a little noisy early in the morning, as all the businesses start their day. I understand you can get a voucher for a breakfast at a cafe next door to the hotel, but I never partook. It wasn't available until 8 and I was up and about by then (Rome is crowded and best to beat the crowds).

The wi-fi was perfectly fine and the staff member I met let me have an adaptor for Italian plugs, which I hadn't realised were different from most European ones.

Would use this hotel again, if I'm ever back in Rome.

This is a great location very near the Spanish Steps and on a hopping touristy street. Lots of restaurants and shopping right outside. Of course, this comes with the street noise including an early morning garbage collection and street sweeping. It didn't bother us, and we had the window open. With the window closed (nice double glass window) we may not have even noticed. Only complaint is that the bathroom door was stuck open. Check-in and out was super simple and the hotel is an easy walk up on the second floor.

Great hotel! Definitely Recommend!

Great hotel, 5 mins away from the Spanish Steps and Spagna Station; tons of restaurants below at night to eat! room was good with comfy bed and bathroom was okay, all tiles but knowing how old the architecture was, its understandable. It has an elevator going up to the floor of the hotel (24/7) but you can carry it up no problem. Wifi is good.

One thing is the wall plugs, you need a type L plug here, you can buy one at the local Carrefour Express Market just below on the street and its no problem.

The rooms were small but adequate. The staff was PHENOMENAL, always friendly and quite helpful. Area is excellent, quite walkable (for those who can walk a few miles on uneven cobblestones, but that's part of visiting Rome in any case). Lots of nearby restaurant and shopping options.

It was great budget stay, a bit out-dated decor but it was not an issue as we were there to explore.

Hotel provided vouchers for breakfast at next door restaurant. It was amazing.

Receptionists were friendly and polite.

Location was excellent! Able to walk to most attractions. The lady at the front desk whose name I wish I remember, (she had worked there 23 years) was super helpful. She assisted getting luggage in the hotel, getting us a cab to the port and some recommendations. Just be ready to drag your bags a few feet because cab cannot take you to the door (which is true of most hotels in the area because streets are too narrow).

Warning!! This hotel does NOT allow you to turn the heat on in your room. Even when it is 36 degrees Fahrenheit outside. They control the heat starting at 6pm they turn it on but the turn it off in the middle of the night. I know there is a crisis with gas in Europe but this should be told to guests. I slept in 2 sweaters and a scarf.

Great hotel and staff!

This is an excellent hotel, I highly recommend it. It is close to all tourist attractions, to stores and restaurants. Public transportation is available, but you don't really need it. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. They have arranged for a taxi to the airport early in the morning, which can be challenging on a workday.
If you are in Rome for experiencing the city, this is the hotel you want to book, at a very reasonable price, in a great location.
It is a 2 star hotel, so don't expect anything luxurious, but it has everything you need in order to spend a great holiday in a great city!

We were staying one night, as a connection for our flight home to the US early July 18. I had a few filters/hotel features that we looked up when originally booking. The first being luggage storage, second airport shuttle, and third air conditioning.

When we arrived we were in fact able to leave our luggage at the front desk, but it was in no manner secure but plainly put against the wall until we were able to check in three hours later. It was nice to leave our bags until check in, but seemed suspicious.

We were able to request an airport shuttle for our early flight, for a flat rate of $55. We asked if it needed to be cash or if we could pay with card and we’re told they did not have that information. Next morning, after being taken to the airport, we were told cash only, $60 and there was an ATM inside.

Lastly, the room was dreadfully hot. The AC wall unit read 16• C. But it did not cool down the entire night. My husband and I physically moved the bed directly in motion of the airflow, slept with our heads at the foot of the bed, and dampened pillow cases to lay on our heads for the night.

Overall, the service was alright, and the room was clean, but the features were below standard.

Their twin room is very small. I had nowhere to put my luggage where it fits except between the opposite wall of the door and the door and I had to jump over it to go to the washroom.

The other staff was not friendly. The elevator was in the 2nd floor, it’s hard to get to the stairs if you have big luggages.

The room was small but the beds were comfortable. This is a very good option if you just need a place to lay your head. Our room had a small upstairs with a single bed, which was perfect for my mother-in-law. The double bed on the main floor was firm but comfortable for us. Some street noise below, but nothing a good pair of earplugs cannot handle. The room was clean and everything worked. The shower had good water pressure and the sink area had plenty of space to organize toiletries. The appeal is the location. Everything we wanted to see was in walking distance, including the Vatican (30 minutes), and the neighborhood is safe and has lots of enticing dining options and a Carrefour market. I recommend asking the staff for dining recommendations, as the quality of the many restaurants varies. We had a bad experience at the restaurant immediately adjacent to the hotel, and our receptionist gave me good advice on how to get my 17 Euros reimbursed for a miscellaneous charge on the bill that I was told was a tax (it wasn't). I got the money back and the next evening we went to a restaurant suggested by the same receptionist and had a wonderful meal at a reasonable price without any deceptions or hassles.

Very uncomfortable and disappointing stay.

The positive: Great central location in the heart of Rome, one block from the Spanish Steps. Staff was pleasant.

The negative: This “hotel” is basically a hostel…. We booked the large quadruple unit in May, 2022. Rome was HOT and although the listing claims there was air conditioning, they did not allow one to use the a/c - it was centrally controlled -because it was not yet summer!! Not even a fan!

The unit was TINY and had no space to sit. Just one wooden chair in a corner by the window, which overlooked a Very Noisy street. We could not close the single small window due to the heat and could not stand the noise from the restaurant and street performers below. There was nowhere to store clothing.

The beds were hard as a rock. The two single beds upstairs in the “loft” were more like roll aways then complete twin size beds. Very uncomfortable and narrow steps up to the loft. The bathroom was tiny and the shower is uncomfortably narrow.

I would only recommend this spot is you want location and don’t care about comfort AT ALL.

I will never return to this hotel.

Special place with a special manager!

We actually stayed at Hotel Okapi, Panda’s sister hotel. It was fantastic! We (2 daughters and son in law) were in Rome to celebrate my daughter’s 40th birthday. Anda went above and beyond to make it special. Cake, champagne, decorated our room, etc. The hotel is on a quiet street in a great location near Piazza Del Popola. Air conditioning worked great, water and coffee available near the lobby. Very secure too! I highly recommend this small hotel!!

Pro: Good location to walk to many sites, also only a couple blocks from the Metro stop, area seems safe, lots of restaurants right out side your door, shared toilets and showers were kept clean.
Con: shared toilets and showers (but I had a sink in my room), dark and dingy hallways, outside doors weren’t always keep closed like they should have been.
To get here from the Airport, take a train or the cheaper bus to the main train station (Terminni), then take the Metro 2 or 3 stops to the Spanga station, hotel is about 2 1/2 block walk from there.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Panda. At first, I was upset that the Wi-Fi wasn't working in my room, but the staff was very helpful in resolving that issue :)

Also, the room wasn't big, but it was just enough space for everything that I needed. And the location was absolutely perfect for exploring all the nearby sights of Rome! I would stay here again.

Clean and proper.

first of all the staff more than excellent ,customer service is more than excellent . location is perfect Hotel, Room clean, area all are great .

The hotel is only part of an old residential building and the intercom is used for entry (the employee is available 24 hours very excellent).
We arrived 4 hours before the check-in time . But they welcomed us and received all the bags and kept them .. At the time of check-in the room was ready and the bags were placed inside the room.

the problems ( not Serious and not for general, but it may bother some cases)
1- The bags are carried in 2 high floors of 3 floors and no bill man service
2-If there is a difficulty in using the stairs. There is an important note to use the elevator must use the stairs for 1/2 floor up and then land a 1/2 floor to get the entrance (
3- and it was only our problem
There is no refrigerator so we can’t keep could water or Juices and light meals in the room . And no kettle or coffee maker on the room

But in general I I enjoyed the trip and the area

I stayed one night here alone and the room was small, simple and fine. But the next night, I shared a room with a couple of friends. I had an upstairs loft area and it was really hot. The air conditioner wouldn't reach in there. And I had terrible wifi, I had to go to the lobby to get online. The good thing is it's close to the Spanish Steps and within walking distance to a lot of major sights. And the staff was helpful.

There is no elevator to ground floor street level. Be prepared to climb stairs and carry your luggage, as there is no bellman. There is an elevator that goes from 2nd floor to some but not all floors. Small shower. But overall, very nice locale, basic furnishings with nice staff.

Nice hotel, located very near to the Spanish steps. I booked a room with shared bathroom. There was a sink, towels and toiletries in the room. The room was simple but all I needed for a one night stopover. Air conditioning was good. The shared bathroom was very clean and had a good shower. Check in was very quick and easy and I was able to leave my luggage whilst I did some sight seeing ahead of my departure.

This hotel has the best location in the entire city, but it's fairly unknown. If you didn't know it was there, you would walk right past it. It is conveniently located in the middle of the shopping district, restaurants, and cafes. It is within walking distance of all of the tourist sites including the Vatican. The room was cozy and met all of my needs. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Rome!

Fantastic location with great value for money

I knew this hotel was 'basic' and my expectations were not high. I am very pleased with my stay. Clean room in great location at a very reasonable price. Very good air conditioning and wifi. 24 hour a day receptionist.

You need to be aware that the hotel is in a very old building and the lift was installed probably hundreds of years after initial construction. Hence the lift goes between floors. This is quite typical for hotels in old buildings in Europe. But - you will have to to carry your bags for at least two half flights of stairs.

It was in the upper 20's (celsius) and the hotel only lets you put the AC on if it gets above 30 celsius for 4 or more consecutive days. Coming back a sweating hot mess from a day outside with walking tours etc was not fun since I had no AC and no air circulation in general. Room was small and I think they should show pictures of the average room not just the larger ones. If I was staying with another person it would have not been so quaint and charming. Overall was good.

Great hotel near Spanish Steps

Great hotel in a great neighborhood. It's only 3 blocks from the Spanish steps, and a 30 minute walk to the colosseum and the Vatican. The street it is on has many cafes and restaurants, and we found two great ones within 1 minute of the hotel.

The staff was very friendly, printing up our Vatican tickets without any problems or hassle. A slight leak developed in the ceiling because of construction upstairs, and they fixed it immediately.

My wife and I were very happy with our 3 night stay there, and would stay there again.

Location, location, location!!

I chose this hotel because of the location, it was literally down the street from the Spanish steps and walking distance to everything else. I did consider another hotel and was happy with my choice. The location was very lively but I did not hear any noise in my room. You could hear noise within the hotel but it was quiet at night. The room was tiny but that's expected, has a lot of character. Bathroom was tiny but once again I knew that when I booked and it did not bother me. It was great for a single person.

Really liked being a walkable distance (about 2 miles max) from all ancient sites and the Vatican. This is a beautiful old building, and although the accommodations were not spacious, they were clean, lovely, in a great location, and met all our needs. Street got quiet after 10pm, and closing the window shut out almost all sound. We ate at several excellent restaurants on the street right outside the hotel. Great place to get a good night's sleep and stage many walks to major tourist attractions!

Great location near Piazza di Spagna and Spanish steps. Bed and pillow were terribly uncomfortable. No hot water in the shower. Front desk service was pleasant. Many stairs and no elevator, so suitcases up and down are a nightmare with small children.

Close to Spanish Steps, but not many amenities

Nice hotel, but was relatively expensive for the few amenities they provided (but again, this was my first time in Rome so I am not too sure about prices). One of the main problems I had was that my adaptor was not working in this hotel-- whereas I have never had issues with it before in the several other European and African countries I have used it. Thankfully, the staff had plenty extra and let us use it. The staff were pretty informed, but I wish the ones at the checkout desk knew a little bit more about getting around Rome and the airport and more English too. The room had very basic amenities, like a small little shampoo and soap bar and a few towels, but otherwise the room was very large and more like a loft (we had a large room) and it was pretty clean and the cleaning staff was very nice and did a good job. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for space, safety, and general comfort.

Near the Spanish Steps

If you are expecting a three-star hotel, this is not the right place for you as the Hotel Panda is definitely a two-star hotel. It provides a very basic accommodation that is adequate for a brief visit. It's main advantage is certainly location, but this can be a disadvantage as well as the hotel is situated on a very busy street complete with street accordions - lively but a bit noisy. Thank goodness for double-glazed windows!

Cool location in Historic Centre

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Excellent location, close to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and transit. Stayed in room closest to front desk. Nice sized room with view of street, didn't notice street noise while sleeping. Location has loads of charm and character. Would stay again.

City center perfect spot

The hotel is in a good spot for walking around to major sight seeing areas. Tour Lines also picked me up from this location & it's in a good/clean area. Center of restaurants and high end shopping are on this same street and block over and next door. I read other reviews and agree the rooms are small/lil space but I was gone most of the day & it was just me traveling. I would stay here again

Excellent in every way it was.the second time we have stayed there in two years. As a boutique hotel in the fashionable city centre, it is hard to beat. If you are sporty you can run up the Spanish steps for a run round the park to the villa Borghese . You can walk, tube or bus anywhere from here to all the sights of Roma. The Vila del Est and its waterfalls are easily reached by tube from the Spanish steps and blue bus..unforgettable. Eat your breakfast sitting down for a minimal cost at the café below Panda in the via de la Croce which has a special arrangement with the hotel.

Simples porém bem localizado.

Hotel? Não usaria esse termo mas, uma pensão! Foi essa minha definição. Limpo, porém antigo, banheiro pequeno e a água nunca regula adequadamente de repente tá boa a têmpera depois gela e depois esquenta demais rsrs meio aventura o banho. Fora isso possui um café da manhã padrão café, leite, chá, croissant, iogurte etc da pra tomar um bom café pra sair e não precisar gastar com café. Agora o ponto forte é sem dúvida alguma a localização!!! Bem no centro perto de tudo. Vc consegue ir para praticamente todos os pontos turísticos principais a pé, é no burburinho do centro. Mas, tb tem a estação de metrô spagna que é 3 mim e de metrô tudo é perto.
Pelo custo e localização vale a pena da pra dormir bem. É coisa simples!! Se não tiver frescura fica numa boa. E sinceramente eu ficaria novamente pois vale pela localização. Esqueci de tirar foto do banheiro. O quarto que ficamos tinha uma cama de casal e uma de solteiro e ficava de frete o que não é bom pq ouvíamos o barulho da movimentação dos restaurantes quando estavam fechando e guardando as mesas e de manhã cedo quando abriam mas nada que atrapalhasse o sono.

Excelente localização. Café da manhã bom. Os pontos negativos são: quarto e banheiro muito pequenos e os colchões, principalmente da cama de solteiro, são muito ruins (de molas bem antigos). Camas bem descartáveis.

Grandiose Lage, aber früh ins Bett gehen kann man aufgrund des Geräuschpegels von draußen und innerhalb des Hauses komplett vergessen. Dafür hat man in Steinwurfweite gefühlte 200 Restaurants.

Rent och lugnt mitt i centrum!

Små utrymmen men funktionellt och med ett fantastiskt läge (en tvärgata till Spanska Trappantorget) - det gjorde hotellet prisvärt. Hotellet är på 2a våningen, utan hiss men det är överkomligt, och vårat rum var mot en stängd bakgård vilket innebar att det var tyst och lugnt.
