We booked this casino hotel expecting a family-friendly casino resort with kid activities, based on Google listings. From the moment we walked in, the experience was off somehow and only went downhill. Check-in was chaotic, and no one told us how to get to our room. When we stopped to ask for directions, staff treated us like an inconvenience rather than guests with small kids. We were traveling to visit my parents , we were placed in an area near the gambling floors instead of the family/kid areas. It wasn’t obvious there was a separate kids’ zone until we happened to meet my parents to eat—at which point we realized where the kid stuff actually was.
The pool situation was another major letdown. We were kicked out of the adult-only heated pool (the only heated pool on site). There was a separate children’s pool, but it wasn’t heated and it only served snacks or drinks. No one explained the policy, and it felt like the adults-only area was the only part that mattered.
To top it off, the room itself looked unclean—the carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. After such a disappointing start, we left a day early. The property markets itself as catering to families, but it clearly doesn’t deliver on that promise and seems to prioritize adults throughout.
Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in the United States, and I wouldn’t recommend stayi

The hotel was dirty, there was hair on the bed linen, the furniture was scratched, window was extremely dirty which defeated the purpose of getting a Mountain View. The pool was closed on Saturday for special event. I asked for the linen to be changed, which apparently they changed, but it still had hairs. I will never return back to this hotel.

The front desk couldn’t accept Apple Pay or type in the card. The WiFi didn’t work the whole time. The pool was closed the whole time due to wind but opened on the windiest day for a birthday party. A security officer with a beaded beard was super rude & unprofessional when asked if the pool would be opening that day. The rooms were decently clean.

Our stay was magnificent! Only thing I feel would make this property better is the use of microwaves, or on site room service. If you want to eat and didn’t pack cold food then you must go downstairs or spend extra in fees through for delivery and hoping they bring it to you. This would not deter me from staying again though

Allowing smoking in the Casino was a big turn off, and a bartender in a lounge bar called security on me because my young son was with me while I waited for her to change a dollar into quarters for pool. I recently stayed at the Riverside Hotel in Laughlin for three nights. Overall, the experience was okay, but there were several areas that could use improvement.
The property is older and feels dated in some areas. Signage throughout the hotel was limited, which made navigating the property a bit confusing at times. The casino and common areas were very smoky, more so than expected. My room was quite dark, even with all the lights on, which made it feel less inviting.
One inconvenience was that all of the first-floor public restrooms were closed at one point during the weekend, and one remained closed for the duration of my stay. Additionally, housekeeping vacuumed the 10th-floor hallway around 12:30 a.m., which was disruptive late at night.
Late-night food options were very limited. Most outlets were closed, and the vending machine was not working, which made it difficult to grab a quick snack.
On the positive side, the gaming area was decent and what you’d expect for Laughlin. The staff was okay—nothing exceptional, but generally polite.
Overall, it was an average stay. With some updates and better attention to guest convenience, the experience could be much improved.

We had a fantastic time at the Don Laughlin Riverside Hotel and Casino. He enjoyed bowling. It was our first time bowling in over 30 years. It was a blast. We also enjoyed dancing in the Loser’s Lounge a few nights. And on our last day we went to watch a movie and then enjoyed the Platters.
The staff was awesome.
Our only complaint was that the king bed was uncomfortable to sleep on.
