Wow - where to start? We had the most amazing stay at Universal Hotel Marques. First of all the location is unbelievable: the only hotel in Colonia de Sant Jordi with this prime location: sea on three sides, and the last hotel before the start of the beach (Es Coto public beach which is part of the bay with the stunning Es Trenc beach). You cannot beat this location.

We had a sea view room on floor 1 which overlooked the pool and then the sea - so stunning, plus private sun loungers as well as table and chairs on our large balcony.

The hotel have thought of everything: free wifi, free cold water refill stations throughout the hotel and so many hooks in the rooms (so necessary to avoid tossing clothes on the bed, there were hooks everywhere).

Next the food: we stayed half board and the buffet was excellent! At least 25 dishes plus show cooking fresh food at breakfast (omelettes) and dinner (fish/meat). The dinner food included pates, fruits, salads (change daily), fish, meat, lasagne, pizza, pasta, paella, chips, potatoes, cooked vegetables, soup and multiple desserts. The bar drinks were also very good and strong and we received welcome drinks our first night. The best thing about the bar is outdoor seating that wraps around the hotel for sea and beach views - stunning!

There were very few negatives: no door on the bathroom area and a window to the shower cubicle from the bedroom so privacy is a problem depending on who you are sharing with. TV channels were largely Germa

Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour de 2j à l'hôtel

L'emplacement est idyllique, les pieds dans l'eau.

Le personnel est extrêmement accueillant et sympathique

Les chambres très propres et fonctionnelles.

Si on doit trouver un petit point négatif, c'est la place de parking pour la voiture en journée, mais sinon tout est parfait, bravo !

Great staff but a 3 star hotel, not 4 stars.

Staffs were really nice and helpful. We were disappointed due to cleanliness of the room, there were hairs from previous guests on the floor and there was dust on the wardrobe shelves. And also the mattress, it was not comfortable, I have not slept well.
Also you had to pay to use the Sun lounger by the swimming pool.

A Lovely Hotel by the Sea

I cannot recommend enough the Universal Hotel Marques, initially for it’s perfect seaside location, with two lovely beaches and a great swimming pool to chose from, then for the highly professional and most welcoming staff for whom nothing is too much effort to make you feel at home. Nice bar overlooking the sea, with a good choice of food and drink, the cocktails being recommended. The hotel has great and stylish facilities, top 4 stars and still a “beach hotel”. The food is absolutely delicious and the menu varies daily. Plenty of entertainment all day long and in the evening, there’s always something going on. The rooms are comfortable and sport great sea views, plus the daily most awaited show in Colonia Sant Jordi - the gorgeous sunset from your room balcony!

One iron for the whole hotel- a rubbish one too. With a TINY ironing board. They automatically add unicef donation to your bill- this should be optional. NO drinks included with half board dinner and with breakfast the orange juice is diluted and the water tastes funny. Not much range for the buffet food.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay - the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The location - out of the centre of town and right on the water - was relaxing and idyllic. The boardwalk/promenade around Colonia de Sant Jordi begins right outside the hotel, so it's perfect for a walk. The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful - I especially appreciated that they had soya milk without me having to ask! Unless you've booked to have lunch and/or dinner included, I would maybe skip those - while it was definitely convenient, and would be helpful for families staying at the hotel, the food wasn't that interesting.

Close to the beach

Room nice and clean, but quite small for 2 persons. Nice and big bathroom, big shower cabin, all new (furniture, sanitaries). Breakfast was good and diversified. Very close to the beach, good wifi. Free parking spaces near by available most of the time, so no need to worry about.
We stayed at the Villa Marquesa, so no sea view or something else nice.

Worth s visit....

The position of the hotel was almost second to none, beautiful. Great amenities with lovely outside space to relax in with instant access to a great beach with amazing coloured clear water.
Our room had an amazing view and as lovely, the only niggle was a small balcony door. Bathroom facilities were excellent and spacious, a lovely big walk in shower and very easily adjustable temperature and power handle.
Carpeted corridors within the hotel made it quiet when people walked about the corridors.
The lifts were small and the 2 lifts only allowed 4 people in each, a bit inconvenient for a busy hotel.
Breakfast and dinner were both lovely. Dinner particularly well arranged by the staff.
Lunchtime snacks tasty also served by friendly staff also. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice peaceful stay.

Nice hotel right in the water.

This is a very nice hotel, the facilities were very clean and well maintained. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. The staff we encountered were very nice especially when I was a bit grumpy. I think my only issue would be the times in which food is available. As guests arrive at varying times it would be nice to have access to “real” food other than cake and a piece of pastry. Food times are very restricted as is availability. The room itself was very nice, and modern. I would suggest a real pillow though. The pillow for the beds are body pillow shapedand made of a weird material so it feels like your trying to sleep on paper towels. Would much prefer pillows that are really pillows. I would like to say that their command of languages is amazing. Front desk staff switch between English, German, and Spanish effortlessly.

Everything was great. The food, the staff, the (couples) naturist Beach in walking distance, the choice of food in the hotel, you name it, it's just good.

View of a ping pong table

Upon arrival to the Universal Hotel Marques we were checked into a tiny room with a view of a ping pong table, although we had pre-paid for 4 nights in a deluxe SEA VIEW room! Maribel, the front desk agent, explained they did not have any the sea view rooms available until the following day and that we could move to a superior room the following day. She declined any sort of refund for the downgraded room and only compensated us free beach towel rental- ($5/day!). This room was a complete dump and literally looked out to and astro-turf courtyard with a ping pong table. In addition, this hotel is noisy with thin walls, breakfast was like a cattle herd and employees seemed unhappy and provided mediocre customer service. This experience was so opposite of our other 4 hotel experiences in Mallorca and Mainland Spain. I will be contacting Expedia and our credit card company for a refund for our first night's accommodation.

Das Personal beim Frühstück und Abendessen könnte freundlicher sein. Gute fand ich die Wasserspender an denen man sich täglich kostenlos Wasser holen konnte. Allerdings finde ich es unverhältnismäßig das gleiche Wasser beim Abendessen für 3,80€ zu verkaufen. Das Zimmer war sauber, die Ausstattung war OK. Die Auswahl des Essens zum Frühstück und Abendessen war gut und es hat geschmeckt.

Schöne Lage am Traumstrand, teilweise unangenehmer Duft von den Saline. Am Pool gibt es für die Hotelgrösse zu wenige Liegestühle. Die Liegestühle können gegen eine Gebühr reserviert werden.

Io e la mia partner abbiamo soggiornato in questa piacevole struttura per 5 notti. Abbiamo optato per la formula mezza pensione e devo dire che è stata una scelta azzeccata. Il loro buffet è completo, c'è un ampia varietà di scelta tra i piatti tipici maiorchini ed internazionali, tutti molto buoni.
La posizione è ottima, si affaccia su una spiaggia bellissima ed inoltre in pochi minuti di macchina si può raggiungere la famosa Es Trenc.
Siamo rimasti soddisfatti della presenza su ogni piano di distributori di acqua dai quali si può riempire gratuitamente la propria borraccia.
Consigliamo l'Universal Hotel Marqués per i servizi che offre e per la cordialità del personale.

Ambivalent: Tolle Lage, leider z.T. laut

Tolle Lage am Meer und zum Strand.
Gelungene und geschmackvolle Renovierung mit einladendem Ambiente.
Frühstück und Abendessen in Qualität und Auswahl gut - Essen draußen gut, Essen im Essensaal laut, eng und kühl - Klima).
Zwei große Probleme für uns:
1. Zimmer zur EsTrenc-Seite sind oberhalb der Bar, die Ende September fast täglich bis 23.00 Uhr laute Live-Musik hat, selbst bei geschlossenem Fenster deutlich hörbar. Zudem im Gebäude hellhörig, z.B. Putzen nebenan, untendrunter, obendrüber immer deutlich hörbar.
2. Komplettes Gebäude wird abends bis 23 Uhr mit allen Balkon-Lichtern beleuchtet - ökologisch nicht i.O.

Se trata de un hotel con una ubicación ideal, junto a una playa preciosa y a 20-30 min caminando de la famosa playa de Es Trenc. En líneas generales, bien. La ubicación es muy buena. La habitación muy amplia pero con vista interna (que fue la que pague), pero la cama tenía un colchón muy viejo que se me clavaban los resortes vencidos. Dormí bastante mal. El desayuno buffet estuvo bastante bien, con muchas opciones.

L' emplacement est superbe avec des belles plages tout autour mais l'hôtel est cher pour la prestation, plus de 1600 euros, la semaine, pour une chambre de 21m2 ! Chambre au 1er étage avec bruits le matin des ramassages poubelles et autres avec une petite terrasse vue sur la mer mais de côté et pas de vue sur la mer depuis notre lit !! Déçu, vu le prix et 2 lits simples alors que j'avais appelé et envoyé un mail pour préciser que l'on aimerait un grand lit ou aménager les 2 lits simples avec un surmatelas !! Mais rien ! Pas de zone fumeur non plus ! seulement 2 cendriers dans un coin debout en plein soleil.. Je sais, je devrais arrêter de fumer 😉 Pour un 4 étoiles, c'est un peu juste ! La nourriture correct mais sans grande originalité et presque toujours les mêmes desserts pas fameux du tout ! En même temps, la demi pension est vraiment pas chère... Par contre chambre très propre et refaite tous les jours, c'est très agréable ! Transats piscine et serviettes payant !! Ils exagèrent ! Malgré tout,, les vacances font du bien mais ne retournerai pas dans cet hôtel avec beaucoup trop de monde ! (queue le matin pour prendre un café etc... Les gens pas vraiment sympa ! Sans parler du transfert conseillé par l'hôtel où nous avons attendu 3h à l'aéroport alors que tout était payé d'avance ! Le retour en revanche, impeccable !

Les pieds dans l’eau !

Nous sommes venus à 4 ou 5 reprises à l’hôtel Marques. Situation on ne peut plus idéale. Directement en bord de mer, à un petit 7/8 minutes à pied des commerces et restaurants. Chambre spacieuse , fonctionnelle et bien insonorisée. Magnifique vue sur la plage pour la plupart des chambres. Buffet petit déjeuner complet. Nous n’avons soupé qu’une seule fois, bonne nourriture mais pas très fine. Allez plutôt dans les petits restaurants du port ou du village qui valent le détour. Check in/Check out rapides. Personnel très accueillant. Piscine surplombant la mer, n’oubliez pas de réserver les chaises pour votre séjour dès votre arrivée ! Je ne peux que recommander cet hôtel.

Hotel nur 10m vom Strand entfernt. Sauberkeit war top. Service war sehr nett und sogar deutschsprachig. Mit dem nötigen Antigentest konnte uns weitergeholfen werden. Frühstück war gut, bietet aber noch Luft nach oben.

Hotel Marqués has a great location, right next to a nice beach. It is close to a small town Saint Jordi with restaurants and there is a great board walk along the coast. The service in the hotel was fine, the breakfast was fine but the dinner buffet was quite bad. The food was overcooked and not hot. We visited in May and the pool was a little cold, 18-20 degrees. It would have been nice with 22-24 degrees.

Einfach Traumhaft, super freundliches Personal. Der Pool ist sauber und die Liegen sind im Gegensatz zum Strand sehr günstig.
Essen ist sehr gut. Die Zimmer werden vor Neubenutzung desinfiziert. Und jeden Tag gereinigt.
Für Allergiker könnte es ein besseres Angebot an Lebensmittel geben. Dafür muss man in den Supermarkt, es gibt dort aber eine ganze Menge. Und Traubenzucker nicht vergessen mitzunehmen. Wir haben dort keinen bekommen. Sonst war es wieder in dem Hotel ein schöner Urlaub.

Frukosten - en stjärna - saknar bra bröd pinsamt dåligt , saknar också spanska pålägg som Serranoskinka Sombrasada . finns inga ensaimadas eller croissanter, saknar riktig juice- borde finnas eftersom jag är i spanien med egna apelsiner, kaffet är bedrövligt- skaffa en nespressomaskin för hotel .

Renoviertes Universal Hotel an toller Lage

Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt sehr zufrieden. Besonders Tanja vom Empfang war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir haben es geschätzt, dass sie sehr gut Deutsch gesprochen hat. Das Personal im Speiseraum und in der Bar (Kellner Leandro) war auch immer höflich
und unaufdringlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet TOP Qualität. Abendessen war auch gut. Abends gibt es Unterhaltung in der Bar. Die Flamenco Show war super. Die Zimmer sauber, in gutem Zustand. Der Balkon mit Meersicht traumhaft. Deutschsprachige Fernsehkanäle vorhanden. Schade, dass aus der Schweiz nur der SFinfo emfangen wurde und nicht SRF1/2. Gratis WIFI nicht so schnell, aber ausreichend. Sonst kann für 15 Euro ein Upgrade gekauft werden. Pool haben wir nicht gebraucht, da es zu kalt war. Aber machte einen guten Eindruck. Kein Whirlpool soweit ich gesehen habe. Wir können das Hotel empfehlen. Eher für Familien und Ruhesuchende das für Ausflügler. Colonia liegt doch 45 Fahrminuten weg von Palma und ohne Mietwagen ist Colonia zu abgelegen. Das Hotel hat keine eigenen Parkplätze oder Tiefgarage. Man kann am Strassenrand gratis parken. Sonst für 5 Euro im Villa Marquesa. Der wilde Naturstrand \"Es Trenc\" und die und der Holzsteg Strandweg sind sehr schön.

Pænt 3-stjernet turisthotel lige ned til vandet. Meget populært hotel blandt tyske rejsebureauturister. Vi boede i superior værelse med fantastisk udsigt over stranden med det turkise vand. God størrelse værelse. også 1. parket til underholdningen om aftenen på hotellets terrasse. En del rygning på terrrasse hvorfor man ikke skal være sart hvis man sidder på værelses altan. Morgenmadsbuffet meget alsidigt, men også kaotisk og mangel på kaffemaskiner. Svingende kvalitet. alt i alt et hotel man skal vælge hvis man vil have vandudsigt. Der betales for vandudsigten. Der kan fås bedre hoteller til prisen.

La struttura è ben tenuta e molto comoda per la spiaggia praticamente attaccata. La colazione a buffet è molto buona mentre la cena, nonostante una vastissima scelta, è solo sufficiente in termine di qualità complessiva. La pulizia della camera e della hall è quotidiana ma sufficiente... si potrebbe far di meglio. Comunque ci tornerei e consiglierei la struttura a chi non si aspetta un vero 4 stelle all’italiana!

Sono stata ospite della struttura con mio marito per una settimana a cavallo tra giugno e luglio. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo, posizione strategica su una spiaggia bellissima. Cibo buono, unica pecca le bevande extra un po’ care ma si sa, è un’isola.. nel complesso siamo stati davvero bene, è stata una scelta azzeccata!
