We had a two night stay to visit Efteling and the hotel was perfect. Easy 15-20 min drive to the park. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms were huge and really comfortable for our family of four. The indoor poor was great for the children but disappointed they weren’t allowed in the outdoor pool in the sunshine. To be honest the hotel has so much more to offer than what we used it for. The restaurant looks stunning and the leisure amenities looked great. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area and happily recommend.

This hotel is very quiet, with lots to do on the premises. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are wonderful. They have darkening drapes, fluffy pillows, a small fridge and a safe. There are three indoor pools, an exercise room, sauna, massage room, Karaoke and bowling room. There is a casino as well. This is a great hotel to stay in that is in a nice quiet part of a small town.

Great room and location. The reception desk person wasn’t particularly welcoming or helpful (it was the first time I stayed there). I had eaten there before but it was night so I wasn’t at all familiar with the complex. Although I didn’t eat there this time, my prior dinner dining experience was excellent. I didn’t book my room with the breakfast option because the breakfast was way too expensive in relation to the amount I wanted to eat.

Nice Hotel for a short trip

Good Hotel.

The Room was nicer than some 5*s we have been to. Clean (altough the carpet had some old permanent stains) and the furniture wasnt worn out.

The bed was very uncomfortable because it was ridicilously soft and even had another big soft topper on it.

The bathroom and shower were great and clean, altough what I thought to be the \"Bubble bath\" was actually the jetted tub, so instead of the whirlpool i was expecting it was a regular (altough large) bathtub with (extremely loud, not usable at night!) jets in the bottom of it. Sadly you couldn't find any good images of this online beforehand. I tried.
No Bath Robe, you had to rent it for 7.50.

Rooms aren't really fully soundproof, you absolutely hear the hallway and especially your neighbors doors shutting. You can even hear them talk through closed doors when they're on the balcony.

Breakfast, while expensive, really was worth it.

The Casino next to the Hotel with free food and drinks was great too. But the machines are basic.

The Toucan Health club employees seemed a bit disorganized.

The Hotels location is in a nicer location than it looked on the maps, you just have to cross a quiet roundabout and you are in Gilze. Its about 15 minutes of walking to a few restaurants, takeaways and a \"Jumbo\" Supermarket. Theres a small park too.

We were there on the weekend, and I guess the nearby Efteling amusement park is to blame for the fact that it was very loud and packed in the lobby/entrance when we arrived.

From my last visit, the services degraded seriously. House keeping were closing the heating in the room every day, the food in restaurant was altered and i had stomach problems after almost every meal. Services in the restaurant were for a 2* restaurant.

Pleasant stay but room for improvement.

All in all we enjoyed our stay but we found a few things a bit inconvenient. The lights inside the bedroom are all turned on and off with a pad where you hold a button and it turns red when off and green when on. The issue with this being there is no way to turn off the red led light. We had to use a pillow over one light switch pad as it was directly above the bed and shining in our faces but unfortunately there were still two other light switch pads which we couldn't cover so we found the lights to disturb our sleep. I also found it a little strange not to have bedside tables but instead a shelf build into the headboard, not really convenient when you are having a coffee in bed.
The fact we had to walk outside to a separate building every time to access the reception/restaurant and gym facilities. There is construction going at the minute so I imagine usually this isn't an issue and there is normally a corridor to the reception.

Generally a good stay and I will return in the future. A very good swimming complex at the hotel. Rooms are fresh and clean and spacious.

The only point to note is that hotel room doors in our part of the hotel were a bit thin, which meant you could easily hear other customers when they were walking through the corridor or closing their doors.

Large complex with two bars, restaurant, health facilities and casino. Room was nice except for having two twin beds instead of a double. Casino was lackluster. There are no 'live' tables, only slots and automated roulette, bingo etc. Also no alcohol served in the casino but I guess that might be the law. Restaurant and bar service was good. Good options were generous and the food was ok.

Good Hotel - with Quirks

Really nice hotel if a little confused. Location is by motorway but it’s quiet. It’s a big hotel. With health club, casino and what looks to be a “residents” wing. Beware if you book superior/ executive then you are in a separate building. It’s not far, may be 200m, but it’s uncovered so in the rain you’re going to get wet. Lots of free parking and free WiFi. Food excellent. Bar good but service extremely slow. Room weird. The whole layout was just odd mainly due to the weird L shape of the room. Strange that a double room gets a 3 seat jacuzzi bath. Who needs 3 seats ? Which takes 30 mins to fill and is extremely difficult to get in and out of due to it being in a tiled housing. No bath robes. Wardrobe ha gets too high. I’m 6ft and only just reached.

We enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were spacious and we'll set out. The staff were friendly and efficient but we hardly saw them because this hotel has seperate buildings depending on the type of accomodation you book as far as I can figure out. Being ex military I got the feeling this may have been previously a military establishment with dormitories. That's certainly the feeling I got. Don't get me wrong the rooms are nice and very comfortable and we would stay here again it was just different from you normal hotel set up.

This Hotel is worthy of a 5 Star Rating.

This hotel is absolutely first class in every respect, the accommodation leaves nothing to be desired, the bath rooms have a wet room in addition to a conventional bath, extremely clean everywhere. The rooms are so well furnished. The Hotel's facilities, restaurant, bar etc. are equally of a superb standard. It is a first class modern hotel, of sufficient standard to satisfy the most demanding of travellers. Then the very best of all is the service given by what must be the very best staff ever. The breakfast was exceptional in quality. It was Great! Already booked another visit this time with friends next month.

bizarre service!

Great room although problems with bath - room was in a new building which is a 10 minute walk from the reception across a very wet car park - room service is charged at €23 per tray! but you can call and get a takeaway from the restaurant available in a paper bag - which you have to collect which i effectively a 20 minute walk. Hotel blocked MONEY ON ARRIVAL AND THEN COULDNT UNBLOCK IT NEXT DAY - ARGUMENTATIVE RECEPTION STAFF - OVERALL HOTEL IS GOOD BUT SERVICE AND SET UP IS JUST BIZARRE - WOULD I STAY THERE AGAIN - NO

We would recommend this hotel. It was clean and attractive, very nice and helpful staff. Bed could be more comfortable. We were in new wing. Nice little balcony. Small couch in room was nice addition. New wing is situated a bit away from desk and breakfast and requires changing buildings. Location was perfect for us. Breakfast was good. Very satisfied with overall value. Would definitely stay here again.

We chose to stay in this Hotel because we had enjoyed having done so previously.It's a great Hotel. It suited the Family reason for which we were visiting Breda. A very Dog friendly Hotel - (they sought after providing us with lovely blankets for our two Puppies to sleep on.) Our only complaint was the unacceptably rude, noisy, cigarette-butt littering, intoxicated people we had staying in the room directly next to us!!! There are - (understandably!) - such strict rules governing the staying of Dogs in this great Hotel......but NONE to control the disgusting types of people's inappropriate behaviour staying there. Our two Puppies were the model of exceptional good behaviour unlike the noisy drunken rabble that were staying next door. (Half-used bottles of Bourbon were strewn outside the front if their door.)

We liked the hotel and the restaurant but the rooms were too far away from the reception. Rooms to be reached via a drafty (covered) walk-bridge. We never went to see the indoor-pool but could imagine how cold it would be to walk after the welness and/or pool to the room. We found the room a bit depressing; very dark colours and furniture outdated. The bed with 2 matrasses next to each other were too narrow (90 cm per matrass) and continuously sliding away from each other. Breakfast was excellent.

this hotel was ok nice pool, breakfast, looked great until we saw our room.
standard room was all ok but old decor and very dim lights pillows were lumpy.
No coffee maker etc and no fridge. Other rooms that were updated my have better decor but the shower is open plan and frosted glass only. But it was located in an area I needed to be so very good. Might look for hotel that had coffee making in the room next time.

Hotel Gilze Rijen - car needed

I was attending a friends birthday party at the Gilze Rijen, and the event was well organised and service for drinks was excellent. Staff at reception were helpful, although the only downside is they know little about local public transport as the hotel is on the outskirt of the village the assumption is you've arrived by car. There is a local bus service into Breda, takes about 20-25 mins (cost €3 each way) but it only runs once an hour at weekends, and the alternate of using a taxi requires deep pockets (ie €90 one way to Eindhoven airport).
Breakfast has plenty of choice, although the tables could have the cutlery laid as the self-service model is taken to the extreme.

It´s what you´re looking for,

It´s what you´re looking for, meaning it´s located right next to the highway, no city centre hotel. But if that´s your choice than this is a great hotel, fine clean rooms, quick service, great restaurant with Dutch dishes and even a casino next door. Last but not least good value for money! And by the way in your room you don´t hear any highway sounds, don´t worry.

Very nice and comfortable 4-star rated hotel, situated just 5 minutes from the cities Tilburg as well as the city of Breda. Good service, friendly and multi-language staff. I stayed in a standard room: spacious and friendly priced for the offered quality. For those who appreciate more luxury, I would recommend their new superior rooms, in one word MAGNIFICENT (and affordable too)! Nice restaurant and very relaxing wellness area with swimming pool. For me in the future always this hotel when I should be in the area of the city of Tilburg or Breda once! Also free parking. No parking problems here unlike some city hotels in the area.

Ik kwam er om te onspannen. Het eerste wat ik zag was een bruine wasbak welke van door make up niet meer schoon te krijgen was . Deze moet echt eens uitgewisseld worden. De hele nacht stond de beluchting van het wc en bad aan en maakte herrie. Ook ging in de nacht ineens het bubblebad aan oftewel er niemand in gezeten heeft. Het ontbijt was om acht uur nog niet helemaal klaar ingedekt oftewel je al vanaf half zeven kon ontbijten. Tijdens het ontbijt wordt er in de zaal schoon gemaakt( stofzuigen) dus dan was het helemaal klaar voor mij. Ook in de omkleden van het zwembad waren de locker defect en zagen er niet uit. Voor dit geld had ik echt meer verwacht.

Kylpylähotelli valtatien varrella. Valtatien toisella puolella nätti lampi jonka ympäri kulkee polku. Hotelli on siisti, kuten myös kylpylä. Ravintolassa oli kiire, joten palvelu oli hieman heikkoa. Sisäänkirjautumisen yhteydessä saatu avain ei toiminut ja jouduimme kävelemään hotellin toisesta päästä asti takaisin. Näitä sattuu mutta ei edes asiaankuuluvaa anteeksipyyntöä saatu…
