The addition of the guest room was a nice touch. Games and tables available. Additionally drinks could be purchased for a reasonable price on an honesty system.
Expedia allowed us to book after hours and we were almost unable to access the hotel. The owner was kind and explained about closing time. Expedia should not have allowed the booking after hours. The only reason we got in is because the owner lives at this site!

Perfect for a stay in the Alps
We enjoyed 4 days in the German Alps, one of the top experiences to enjoy in Europe. Hotel is close to the biggest attractions in the area, plenty of good restaurants nearby. It is well run by hardworking, lovely people. Situated next to the road you hear traffic passing.

We were lucky Fussen had no vacancies so we ventured out to Pfrontener Hof and were happy we did. The next-door ski lift up the mountain made for a great day of hiking and views. Dinner options in Pfrontener were also good and easy to get a table. If you are looking for a quiet place with great views away from crowds, I'd suggest you try here.

The staff were friendly, helpful and informative and the room and bed were comfortable. There was a good breakfast choice and there was free parking and a good internet connection. We particularly liked the bus service from right outside the front door which took us into Fussen without having to fuss with parking (pun intended). Plenty to see and do in the area.

We loved the location of this hotel which was in a beautiful mountainous area. It was absolutely beautiful. The hosts were very helpful and even arranged for us to get some laundry done using the hotel' s laundry equipment. They could not have been more helpful.

modest room with an incredible view. front of the house staff friendly and helpful. housekeeping came into room and discarded my personal property (mistaking papers and receipts on night table for trash, i guess) and moved our personal stuff, but didn't actually clean. They rehung dirty towells off the floor and folded duvet, but didn't sweep floor or replace towells. i would stay here again, but would request a do not disturb sign to keep housekeeping out.

Pfrontener Hof is right next to a chairlift. Our room had a balcony looking out at the mountainside. The hotel shows its age, but the price seemed reasonable. The owner is on-site and very friendly. Dinner was good and nicely presented. No lift so luggage must be carried up the stairs. Owner is knowledgeable about the area and was able to suggest a sightseeing tour, which we enjoyed. We were given a transport card each that we could have used for free bus travel or train travel (train staton is right across the street from the hotel).

Gem hotel in the Bavarian mountains
Beautiful little hotel in a scenic location surrounded by mountains. A small train station is across the road. Breitenberg cable car is next door to take you up the mountain or you can hike up. Easy drive to Neuschwanstein Castle. Staff was wonderful and so helpful. They even did our laundry when we could not locate a laundromat. Breakfast buffet was amazing and their restaurant was very good. It was our favorite hotel in Germany and gets my highest recommendation.

This place is terrific! Super friendly and welcoming hosts, also very informative about what to do, where to go, shop etc. The room was exactly as I expected, rustic with a great view of the Alps to enjoy from your own balcony. Right next door to a ski hill. About 15 mins away from the castles in Schwaganau. Breakfast was included and excellent, lovely selection of meats, cheeses, eggs, fresh baked hot buns, yogurts, fruit, cereals etc. And the best part for me; pots of fresh brewed hot coffee brought right to the table. I hope to return one day in the near future!

Exactly what we were looking for.
This was the last hotel we booked during an 18 day trip around Europe. We were looking for a base for walking, running, exploring in the Bavarian alps and this turned out to be what we were looking for. It's a little basic if you compare it to a posh chain hotel but the rooms were clean, views from the rooms were amazing, staff (especially \"Tom\" one of the owners) friendly and the wifi was very fast.

Older hotel with no elevator but it did have several pluses...the staff was responsive to any request, the hotel had a decent restaurant with alternativeswithin short drive, it was next door to a ski lift which we took up for a hike and great view, and it was short direct route to Nieuswanstein castle.

An okay place to stay. Misrepresented on the website not on the hilltop. Does not look down into the Fussen Valley. Much noise in the early am ( 5a.m.) chickens! Dog barking, and train stop across road. But they gave us fresh eggs for breakfast. One staff member did not know what ice was even asked in perfect German. Ok just a like misrepresent in my appraisal.

Nice hotel about 10 minutes from Fussen/castles
When I booked this hotel I was expecting/hoping for a hotel near Fussen, the Austrian border, and the castles in the south Bavarian region. However the hotel is in Pfronten which is a 10-15 minute car ride from Fussen, and very difficult to access by bus/train. That being said, once I found this hotel it was very user friendly, clean, and comfortable. It is appropriately priced. There are other restaurants/hotels down the road which have better food, so I'd recommend bypassing the breakfast. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay here again in a pinch, but would prefer a place closer to Fussen..

Bei meiner Ankunft wurde ich freundlich empfangen. Das Zimmer war relativ modern eingerichtet, zumindest das Bett und die Duschen waren relativ neu. Das ganze hat aber nicht zu den anderen sachen gepasst wie z.B den verstaubten Wandlampen die dort schon, so wie Sie aussehen, vor 60 Jahren gehangen haben. Der Balkon war in Ordnung eine Sitzmöglichkeit war vorhanden und der Ausblick war schön allerdings waren an der Außenwand und unter dem Dach, also genau unter dem Balkon, sehe viele und große Spinnenweben

Sehr gutes Frühstück und freundliches Personal. Zimmer sind klein aber gut, Betten sehr angenehm. Das Frühstück ist besser als erwartet und eine sehr gute Auswahl. Die Lage ist praktisch leider Abends kein Restaurant. Verschiedene Fremdsprachen werden gesprochen, ist nicht alles 24 besetzt trotzdem gut organisiert.

Unterkunft ist leicht zu finden, Einchecken auch ausserhalb der Rezeptionszeiten problemlos durch Schlüsselbox, schönes Zimmer mit Balkon und Aussicht auf Berge. Älteres Hotel, aber Zimmereinrichtung grösstenteils sehr hochwertig und recht neu. Servicepersonal super freundlich, aufmerksam, immer hilfsbereit und kompetent. Optimale Lage der Unterkunft (am Ortsrand), um schnell zu den Ausflugsorten in der Gegend, in verschiedenen Richtungen, zu kommen. Eine Kabinenseilbahn ist in direkter Nachbarschaft, Betrieb ist aber im Hotel nicht störend. - Bahnhof-Haltestelle fast gleich gegenüber (Regionalbahn, sehr leise).

Leider müssen wir uns den vorherigen Bewertungen anschließen: muffiger Geruch + abgewohntes Mobiliar im gesamten Gebäude. Freundliche Mitarbeiter, die jedoch gleich beim betreten der Rezeption am Anreisetag mit der Rechnung winken - das geht in anderen Häusern definitiv etwas entspannter vor sich.... Frühstück eher im unteren Durchschnitt für eine Touristenregion.
In Summe leider maximal nur für ein Wochenendaufenthalt zu empfehlen.Die schöne Umgebung läßt jedoch etwas leichter über die genannten Umstände hinwegsehen.

Wir hatten im Juni für ein verlängertes Wochenende als Paar ein Doppelzimmer im 2. Obergeschoss. Wir waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden.
Ab dem Haus konnten wir direkt zum Wandern aufbrechen. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Die Lage ist gut, liegt direkt neben der Bergstation Breitenberg. Das Hotel ist schon etwas älter und in die Jahre gekommen aber sehr sauber. Beim Frühstück ist alles da was das Herz begehrt. Ansonsten haben wir die Küche nicht getestet.

Tolle Lage direkt an der Breitenbergbahn mit nettem Personal. Für einen kurzen Wanderurlaub war es das perfekte Hotel. Das Frühstück war okay und die Auswahl ausreichend. Sehr schöne Zimmer, leider ohne Aufzug. Wir waren mit dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr zufrieden und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

L'hôtel est bien situé pour les visites des châteaux. Cependant ce n'est pas le niveau d'un 3 étoiles. Nous étions dans une petite chambre, les équipements sont un peu vieillissants mais surtout nous avions les odeurs de cuisine qui remontaient dans notre chambre. Bjergvandring samt Ludwig. d. 2 slotte der ligger i området blev besøgt, vandring omkring Swansee samt Alpsee som ligger i forbindelse med slottene, en helt igennem skøn naturoplevelse. Godt hotel til god pris, hvor man let kan køre til de mange spændende steder som Schloss Neuschwannstein på kort tid. Hotellet ligger selv lige ved en kabelbane, så man kan meget nemt komme op i bjergene. Værelse er fint og fra balkonen er der udsigt mod bjergene. Morgenmad var fint, og det var også muligt st spise middag på hotellet, som ligger lidt udenfor by og andre restauranter.

Es fing damit an, dass wir uns erlaubt haben, vor 14 Uhr anzureisen!
