Service makes the difference.

Room was great, although it was much to warm, even with the windows open, to get great rest.

When you arrive, you are expected to get your key out of their safe (code is emailed to you). Unfortunately, when we arrived, the code would not open to safe. When we called to get assistance, the lady assumed we were just incompetent. When she finally arrived, she too could not get the safe to open.

Beautiful place in a picturesque town

Lovely place in a very picturesque town.
Our only issues were: 1.Check in could have been smoother if the receptionist (who chose not to come out) had been more helpful in showing us to our room. Specially since we arrived within regular reception hours ~ 3pm. We were left to wander around a bit before eventually finding our room in another building. 2. Also, some tea/coffee sachets would be very welcome in the rooms. 3. The pillows are like a square sack of potatoes. Absolutely no support. These need replacing in my opinion.
Otherwise a very lovely property. Would stay again.

The landhaus Kössel provided a wonderful stay for our family trip of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids) to visit the Füssen and algau area to see Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. The breakfast was reasonable priced and had a great spread of options, my favorite being the option to boil your own egg.
The rooms were spacious and provided some of the most stunning views of the area. Truly a top-notch one of a kind experience. The staff was also very helpful and the evening after hours check in process was helpful.

The hotel was in a beautiul location.
Housekeeping did not clean our room . We stayed 2 nights. We rented an apartment. No paper towels, only one tea towel. Trash in our rooms was not removed while we stayed there. No clean towels.
Room could use a little decoration with coloed paint, wallpaper or even pictures on the wall.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and at home.
Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The Christmas tree they thoughtfully placed in our room was a lovely touch – it made our stay feel extra special.
The bathroom was spotless and well-appointed, with plenty of towels and amenities.
The hotel's location is fantastic, within easy walking distance to many popular attractions, restaurants, and shops.
But what really made our stay stand out was the exceptional staff. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care about our comfort and happiness.
And finally, the breakfast was great – a wide selection of delicious options to start our day off right.

We liked the space in the apartment, the rustic style and balcony, the natural pool, and the proximity to the lake. There was a good selection of restaurants in the area. Public transport to Füssen and the castles was simple but we needed to check schedules because buses are infrequent on weekends.

This hotel was the highlight of our vacation. Straight out of a fairytale with horses on site, cows next door, a beautiful lake in walking distance—picture perfect! The room was spotless and huge, perfect for our family. Very convenient to old town Füssen, which is equally charming. 10/10 recommend!!

Issues with the hotel: 1- Wifi or 5G does not work in the room. That’s a bummer when you travel and searching for info. 2- Smells very bad outside of the building. Not sure where it’s coming from but hard to breath. 3- Lots of bugs around the building, so hard to relax outside at the lounge area. 4-It says the hotel had a pool, but it’s actually a “nature” pond like pool in the back that has all sorts of life inside. Nobody entered that pool. Looks beautiful but certainly scary to swim in.

I’m glad I found this small town bc of the hotel. The Hopfenssee is beautiful and cozy. However, I don’t think I can recommend the hotel due to the issues I had while staying.

Beautiful location with cows and horses close by (note the smell of the country when you open the windows, which you will need to, because like most places in the area, there is no A/C). Gorgeous views of the mountains from the rooms. The breakfast area is pure Bavaria and super cool. Staff was very welcoming. Room was very beautiful and well equipped including a basic kitchen with everything you'd need for a long stay. We arrived after reception closed and the instructions were easy to follow. This place is a hidden gem! It's close to Fussen (15 min) if you are in the area to see the castles, but far enough to get away from the crowds.

Peaceful stay outside of Fussen. This place was an oasis - we stayed in the cabin down by the pool and it was the perfect getaway. We had a pool, grill, picnic table, and fire pit outside. Inside was spacious with a luxurious bathroom shower and tub. Right near the lake too which was so warm!! We enjoyed staying in here much more than going into the town of Fussen.

We LOVED our stay at Landhaus Kössel! We stayed there one night as we visited Fussen for the Neuschwanstein Castle. We arrived late but the key was easily accessible and the hotel had sent clear instructions. The room was nice and warm, and quite large. There was a hot water bottle and gummy bears placed on the bed as a good night treat. The view overlooking snow, horses and a frozen pool was divine. It’s located a bit outside Fussen, near a lake and is a beautiful location. The breakfast was quite nice and the cafe is lovely. There’s also a nice Italian restaurant nearby that stays open till 10, which is a rarity at this time of the year (Dec). We highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is adorable!! We arrived after check in closed, but found our key easily that the front desk had given us instructions to find. We had a little trouble finding our room but once we did were in awe of the property and view! It was amazing!!! The breakfast was the best we’ve had at a hotel during our stay, and it was very close to both Füssen and neuschwanstein castle! Only downside was the windows didn’t allow a lot of airflow in, it would have been nice to have a fan to circulate the air. Also the pillows weren’t great and very flat. Otherwise we loved it! We’d definitely stay again!

Location, location, location. I personally lived it. You are close to Fussen but not in the middle of things. It’s 100 yards to an incredible lake with a fascinating view of the Alps. Stay at the lake for sunset. Its worth it.

This place was BEAUTIFUL and perfect in every way. The staff there are helpful; some speak English, some only speak German. Be prepared.

Breakfast was an extra charge but it was AMAZING. I haven’t had food that fresh and clean in quite some time.

Perfect stay in the snow

We stayed here for 2 nights in February and had a great stay. We needed to check in after the reception closed as we were travelling from Innsbruck but this was no problem as the keys were kept for us in the key box which we were given the code for. The room was very clean and we had a lovely view of the mountains. There was a lot of choice at breakfast. The hotel is close to the bus stop but we walked into Fussen twice (takes an hour) as it was a beautiful and easy walk. From Fussen you can get the bus to Tegelberg for skiing or to Schwangau for Neauschwanstein castle.

Great view at this property. Nice strong shower. There was a funky smell in the room that we had to air out, bed was not comfortable. Check out was at 11 am and the staff began banging on our door at 10:30 am telling us to check out. This repeated from different staff literally every two minutes until we left. They said they had someone coming earlier than expected for the room — doesn’t matter, we should not have been disturbed until 11 if we were not checked out. Incredibly rude cleaning staff, poor service and zero hospitality.

Huge Suite, Great View

This hotel was pretty cool.

When we checked in at 1800, reception was already closed. It wasn't that big of a deal since the hotel sent us an email with a code to unlock the safe next to the front door where our keys were.

There's 2 guesthouses. We stayed at the back one. There's an arrow on a wall pointing the way to it. The guesthouses are part of a farm, which I thought was pretty cool. There's cows and fields all around the hotel.

Our room was actually a suite. It had a full kitchen, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a couch-bed, and a private deck.

The view of the Alps out the window was the best part. There's also a small playground, a little pond with chairs, and an Irish pub right across the street. I'd definitely stay here again.

Wir hatten die Suite 7A welche ein tolles Raumgefühl hergibt bezüglich der hohen Decke, sowie der großen Fenster und der gemütlichen Einrichtung. Praktisch waren die elektrischen Vorhänge. Toll die Aussicht und der Balkon. Leider hat es nachts des Öfteren laut geknackt (warum auch immer), was unsere nächtliche Ruhe gestört hat.

部屋は、大小２つ天窓があり、とても暑かった。
冬なら良いだろうが、午後１０時でも７室温３０℃超えで最悪だった。
他の部屋に天窓はほとんどなかったので、つらかった。

Schönes Zimmer (Appartement) mit großem Bad und Balkon Südwest Seite. Küchenzeile . Außer einem Marder, der sich auf dem Dach in der Früh ausgetobt hat, gibt's nichts zum bemängeln. Frühstück total ausreichend, Personal freundlich. Kleiner Saunabereich mit Blick auf Pferdehof. Sauna muss zur Nutzung selbst aktiviert werden. Zum Hopfen See zwei min. fußläufig. Viel Gastronomie entlang der Seepromenade. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Aktivitäten.

We enjoyed our stay (en route) immensely. It was a small holiday in itself. It is a stone's throw from a wonderful lake (took an early morning swim), and also enjoyed the small natural pond with belongs to the collection of buildings that comprise the Landhaus. Restaurants nearby, and breakfast was wonderful, too. Great views etc., great holiday location!
